Pros

There is a lunch allowance every month. Great.

Some colleagues are very nice and will patiently teach you.

Cons

High 1111

There are many cliques.

If you are going to interview for a customer service position, it is best not to be in the area of the senior manager (the highest-ranking manager there is very nice).

Some managers even curse the senior manager in group chats, wishing that they would develop high blood pressure and leave, or saying things like “go burn incense” and so on.

In the main area, if you cannot learn and make mistakes, a manager has yelled at new employees: “Are you asking to be cursed at?”

During the first six months, you would go to a meeting at noon to attend classes on drawing techniques. If your presentation was not good, they would play your recording for all the new employees to hear and then critique it point by point.

The manager in the smaller area is very nice, but you also need to be lucky enough to be assigned to that area.

There is no overtime pay.

Pros

Cons

1. A new supervisor is brought in every year.

2. The rules here change without notice, and you can be blacklisted immediately, depending on the supervisor’s mood.

3. Smart people get pushed out. You can’t ignore what others say, but you also can’t be too stupid.

4. They call themselves a happy company, but the benefits keep getting reduced, while more and more is deducted from the benefits fund.

5. This isn’t a performance-based department, yet the supervisor says performance is also a key evaluation criterion. As a result, those who receive bonuses almost every month end up receiving the smallest year-end bonuses, so it’s all just spin.

6. Whenever something goes wrong, employees are made to take the blame, and accused of negligence,

but employees don’t actually have that much authority; many matters need to be reported up the chain.

7. If someone dislikes you, a chain reaction among a group of people pressures you to resign, instead of simply giving you severance pay.

8. This department really likes forcing experienced employees out. We do the most work, get none of the good assignments, and have to do all the bad ones.

9. When someone files a complaint, they don’t verify it and instead directly force the employee to confess.

10. If you like an elementary-school-style management model, you might consider this company. They often use disciplinary-record threats.

11. People without the ability can become supervisors and employees are still forced to respect them. Most importantly, the supervisor only knows how to copy and paste and acts like a parrot. When something goes wrong, the supervisor avoids the issue and tells employees to face it themselves. (These are all matters the supervisor should handle; this is mentioned to point out that there are problems.)

12. Most importantly, base salaries are never adjusted. At a normal company, you would use your performance results to negotiate bonuses with the company. Sorry, but that isn’t how it works here: when performance is three times higher than before, bonuses are effectively cut.

If you just want to go in and try it out, you can consider it. But if you want career advancement, I recommend choosing another company—possibly even 104 is far better than us.

Pros

1. There are initial and second-round interviews. The second round is conducted by a group of senior executives and top management—some online and some in a conference room. The two candidates each give a presentation on the assigned topic. I treated it as practice; I simply like the feeling of competition XD

2. You find out the interview result the same day, so there is no need to wait (I suppose that counts as a pro).

3. For those with experience, the salary range is fairly reasonable. At least, it will not be below the market rate, but you should definitely do your homework when naming your expected salary.

4. The resources available to you are relatively extensive (compared with ordinary companies).

5. There are some good people on the technical side and among the managers. If you are willing to ask them for advice, you can learn a lot. If you dare to ask, you will gain something.

Cons

1. Luck is very important. If you follow the right person, you will be very happy; if you follow the wrong person, good luck. You can still survive, though—at worst, just leave the company.

2. There is no company-wide direction for promotion evaluation standards and no fixed salary-adjustment mechanism, so it is better to quote a higher expected salary to avoid losing out XD

3. Different managers require different ways of dealing with them. If someone needs special caution, remember not to respond casually.

4. Some departments do not really like using email for communication, so many things are not documented.

5. The SOPs for internal processes can easily be changed, depending on the manager’s approach (having the right person is important XD).

Pros

1. The department has undergone reforms and adjustments by management, so the division of responsibilities is clear. The work can be learned and handed over quickly, and there is a complete SOP.

2. The department team gets along well. The colleagues are nice and highly capable, and we encourage and learn from one another. We exchange ideas and communicate about professional SEO techniques, so you can learn a lot.

3. Personally, I think the salary is fairly good (I don't know about other departments, but at least our team is paid pretty well).

4. Employee meals (although they can't exactly be called delicious, they really save you a lot of money in Taipei).

5. Overtime is paid, but in principle, the department I worked in usually finished work fairly punctually.

6. Two massages per month (although you have to compete to book one, I personally think they are very necessary for people who sit in an office for long periods XD)

Cons

1. The traditional-industry system is rigid. Some departments like to shirk responsibility and avoid trouble, and there is no mutual communication, which can easily lead to different departments repeatedly doing the same thing.

2. Cross-department communication is difficult. Some department managers engage in infighting (but what company doesn't?), though fortunately our manager handles this, so it has little impact on our team.

3. The company has many employees and managers. Even if your own manager is willing to pass along suggestions that would benefit the company, they may still be blocked by a higher-level manager, meaning they never reach the boss's ears.

4. There are many customer-service employees and high turnover, resulting in inadequate handovers. Cross-department business collaboration consequently becomes very troublesome.

5. When the boss occasionally comes up with a sudden idea, the departments below have to mobilize quickly. In order to fulfill the boss's demands rapidly, many things are done without adequate preparation or long-term planning.

Summary

To be honest, before joining 1111, I read many reviews. However, considering that the managers I encountered at previous jobs were actually even worse (dumping problems on others, setting people up, and abusing public resources for personal purposes were all common), I figured there was no harm in giving it a try. I also asked very detailed questions during my own interview and decided to join only after considering many factors.

Of course, there are indeed quite a lot of negative aspects written about online (but they are all in other departments; our department hasn't encountered them), but I feel that I was fairly lucky. The department and manager I worked with were pretty good, and I also learned a lot of technical knowledge.

Strictly speaking, for a company with 500 people in Taipei alone, how could it possibly not have annoying managers and inexplicable colleagues, not to mention a rigid traditional-industry system? (I once worked at a company with fewer than 30 people that was full of backstabbers and infighting among three powerful managers. By comparison, I think 1111 is actually not too bad XD.)

As for the system, I do feel it is extremely rigid and needs improvement, but you can also see that some departments are trying to make adjustments. Although this is not something that can be solved overnight, at least improvements are being made.

The above is provided for everyone's reference. My sincere advice to job seekers is to ask more questions about your specific duties during the interview. The systems and processes differ from department to department, so assess for yourself whether they meet your needs. You can also ask about non-professional matters (such as how colleagues get along) before making your decision.

Pros

The colleagues are nice.

Cons

If this story resembles anything, it is purely coincidental.

Reminder: During the interview, a certain department head may say that online information is for reference only (but after you join, the level of darkness is absolutely horrifying. Those who are brave are welcome to take on the challenge).

You should be mentally prepared for the attitude of a certain supervisor at this company on a daily basis.

The internal departments basically do not have a sound, guaranteed system for issuing year-end bonuses.

Bonuses are entirely distributed according to the supervisor’s subjective and unprofessional judgment; even if you are furious, nothing will change.

Most colleagues are very nice, considerate, and willing to help one another. The nurses also conscientiously take everyone’s temperature, and the HR staff are nice too.

I originally wanted to let the matter fade, but I’m worried that newcomers or honest, trusting people might be deceived, so if you are recently considering applying to Department X, think twice.

No matter how capable an employee is, the head of Department X will arrange a special meeting with them on their birthday if they do not cater to him. When assigning tasks, he is only vague and ambiguous, then makes employees do unpaid work afterward. Employee suggestions and feedback receive no follow-up, yet whenever problems arise, employees are expected to take the blame for him.

He has long made employees clean up after those with very poor abilities.

Good employees have even been pressured by the supervisor to resign.

The supervisor thinks employees should leave after staying for two years!!!!

Moreover, the supervisor really~~~likes employees with very poor abilities.

Does this count as a happy company?

Or is it the supervisor’s personal “happy” company (mysterious laugh)?

For employees who have been here for more than a year but still cannot independently and smoothly complete even basic tasks, he considers their attitude to be “very good” and thinks having ability equivalent to just 60 points is sufficient (?).

Performance evaluations are also inflated almost every month, indicating that there is plenty of room for improvement (a miracle of his employee education, one might say) (?).

I guess the supervisor has very unusual preferences. He shows particular favoritism toward that colleague with very poor abilities and even thinks that all the other colleagues are ostracizing her. He only wants all the colleagues to clean up after her and allocate performance credit to her. The supervisor even threatens the other colleagues, insisting that they must finish cleaning up her messes; otherwise, he will not promote her or will also refuse to give the other employees raises.

He even specifically instructed that employee with poor abilities to tell him immediately if anyone bullied her.

The supervisor will not take responsibility.

Mismanagement means shifting the blame.

Favoritism toward the least capable.

Building cardboard boxes and retreating into isolation.

Exploitation year after year, with great enthusiasm.

Year-end bonuses and raises are utterly powerless.

Redundant staff run the department into closure.

Employees ultimately leave one by one

Pros

Deliberately cultivates a professional image

Cons

In fact, there is absolutely nothing professional about it.

At the end of last year, I received a call asking whether I could come in for an interview for a PR position. The script used during the initial interview was extremely polished, saying that my responses had exceeded expectations and that they hoped I could proceed to a second interview as soon as possible. However, the time and presentation topic for the second interview had already been decided a week in advance, and the day before the second interview they called to say they wanted to add another topic.

On the day of the second interview, the big boss was either answering the phone or going to the restroom for half of the presentation, showing no respect at all for the applicant. Afterward, they said they would notify me that afternoon, but then there was no word at all.

The next morning, I called to ask about it. They said the big boss had not yet made a decision, but at noon they called again to ask me to accompany them at a dinner banquet. I asked: I had not even received an offer, so in what capacity was I supposed to attend the banquet? The answer I received was actually, “You are attending as a 1111 employee”—the kind of response that leaves you completely bewildered.

I did not show up at the banquet. The big boss’s assistant called in a panic and said, “Come right away and you will be given priority for the position.” I clearly explained why I could not attend and then politely declined the invitation. The other party only replied, “No problem. Then we’ll proceed with the rest of the application according to the normal procedure.”

The next day, I received a rejection notice.

My advice: If you are looking for a job, you do not need to spend your time on this company. It has no professionalism or system whatsoever. Even without having received an offer letter, they still expect applicants to attend banquets and accompany them.

Pros

Is having a manager who pressures people to quit considered a strength? Haha. Most of my coworkers are easy to get along with and not scheming; we help each other. The nurses are very gentle and caring toward me, and the president is very cute. The food in the employee cafeteria is inconsistent, but it’s okay. Overall, it’s pretty good.

Cons

I originally wanted to let things go, but I’m worried that newcomers might take a wrong turn and ruin themselves, so think twice before joining this department. No matter the reason, whenever you take leave, the department manager will complain. If they’re unhappy, they’ll also deduct a lot of points from your score. A supposedly happy company listed on a major job bank, yet it exploits its employees. When you take sick leave, the manager will pressure you to resign. (As if getting sick or injured was something I wanted—seriously???^^)

The manager seems to have very poor abilities and a bad memory. I guess they’re afraid their position might be threatened, so they treat capable coworkers coldly and even keep making things difficult for them. (But my coworkers have good tempers and never said anything. Sigh, I really feel indignant on their behalf—they deserve better.)

The manager’s preferences are very obvious! They really adore an employee who is extremely incompetent. (That employee is incredibly good at acting cute and coquettish with the manager. Haha, sorry, I can’t do that—I was practically throwing up^^. If you constantly act cute, the manager will protect you and tell you how great you are.) Then they make the capable employees clean up the mess. It’s truly awful. The manager will never take responsibility. If you ask them to take responsibility, they get angry and become extremely emotional. There couldn’t be even the slightest noise at work, or the manager would clear their throat. At the time, I worked every day in a highly oppressive atmosphere, which made my health very poor. After resigning, I took a few months to recover and moved to a better company. Thanks to 1111, I was able to switch to a better job^^

There wasn't even a cup of water.

They were extremely rude when asking questions, constantly asking personal questions.

After asking, they acted as if they were being humorous and laughed there.

It had absolutely nothing to do with the job.

At the end of the interview, they even said the supervisor was in a meeting and had no time to conduct the interview?

Then why did you ask me to come? Do you have nothing better to do? This is ridiculous.

Pros

1. There is definitely plenty of time here to learn things independently. Much of the work assigned is not urgent, and anyone with some ability to work independently can handle it.

2. No other advantages.

Cons

1. After working here for a year, the salary increase is effectively 0. I asked several people who had been here for more than five years, and they all said they had never received a raise. The only opportunity for a raise is through a change in position.

2. Communication between levels is basically 0. There is no group chat where the entire development team can communicate. People only look for the developers they are used to working with, and no one gives notice about what they are doing. When the system and development teams test separately and encounter problems, you have to ask several people.

3. The company has daily and monthly reports. The daily report has to be filled out in many places, and it is unclear what would be considered a reasonable amount for the monthly report. On top of that, every so often the president or CEO requires everyone to submit a formal personal contribution report, which is completely useless. Do these executives not know how to check the system themselves?

4. They keep saying this is a happy company, but I really do not feel any sense of happiness here. The afternoon tea is genuinely limited to drinks, and it is only provided once a month. Almost all the rules are merely based on the Labor Standards Act; there is not a single thing that, in practice, is better than anything required by the Labor Standards Act. For example, there is no pay on typhoon days. Even things like health checkups seem to have been unavailable for a long time, with this year, 2026, apparently being a special exception.

5. A lot of things at work are constrained. Any plans proposed without a budget from upper management are dismissed as impossible by the time they reach the supervisor level.

6. The supervisors' professional competence is mediocre. During the interview, they said I had no experience, but after I joined, whenever I discussed plans involving a lot of technical details, the supervisor had to ask me questions before understanding them. So who exactly lacked experience?

7. I advise everyone who can escape to do so quickly. So far, about 10–15% of the total workforce has left. Come here only to build experience, and do not expect a salary increase unless you negotiated a high salary from the start.

8. For those without ambitions who only want to find a job where they can coast until retirement, this place is very stable, so there is no need to worry.

Gives you a chance to reminisce about your former company!!!!

Cons

1. The salary at this company isn’t hiring you—it’s telling you that you’re only fit to be a dog.

2. The system is simply whatever mood the boss is in: if they say it exists, it exists; if they say it doesn’t, you shut up!

Don’t like it? Then quit on your own!

3. The manager’s only ability is to “drive normal people insane.”

4. Joining this company will only make you feel that you must have committed far too many sins in your previous life.

@Take time off whenever you see red. But regardless of whether it’s your lunch break or after work, the boss keeps sending messages on LINE nonstop?

@The benefits are great. NT$500 for each of the three major holidays, year after year for decades.

@The company is very frugal. Neither hardware nor software is ever updated. Departments often complain that the system is difficult to use. Engineering just gives us perfunctory fixes.

@Salary adjustments happen once every three years. When it’s finally your turn, the minimum wage has also been adjusted? So you might get an extra NT$50?

The salary is pretty good.

There’s also a 1,000 perfect-attendance bonus.

Cons

I originally applied for a sales administrative assistant position. The interviewer said it was a new department and that candidates with or without experience were welcome.

I asked the interviewer whether it would be better to hire someone with experience.

He said that he had also started out with no experience.

Two days later, he called and asked me to come in for a second interview the next day.

Only after I arrived did he tell me that, because I had never done related work before and had only handled general company administration, he wanted to ask whether I would be interested in doing sales instead.

I felt like I had been played. If they changed the decision, they should have told me when they notified me, rather than asking me to come in for a second interview and only telling me then. It felt really awful.

This is ridiculous! The Environmental Protection Bureau is coming to spray dengue fever insecticide. Since it is being carried out during working hours, the area should, in principle, be cleared for two hours. But! To make money, the company actually refused to have the spraying done, saying they would hire someone to do it themselves after work. The point is! Apart from our office, all the other spaces on this floor, including the restroom, will be sprayed. That means they’ll be spraying mist right outside our door while we’re working ^^ A coworker asked: “Isn’t it very toxic? How are we supposed to use the restroom?” The senior manager only replied: “Just wear your mask properly”??? I’d like to ask: Besides sharing this here, where else can I report it?

When you first join the company, they pretend to care. Later, even taking time off requires being questioned in front of everyone. The senior manager with the horse-like face daydreams every day, thinking this is a telemarketing job, but it is actually a group-mobilization unit that assembles every 10 minutes (it sounds ridiculous, but it’s true). I’ve heard the base salary does not increase along with government-mandated raises, but performance targets keep going up and up!! (If you don’t meet the targets, money will be deducted from your pay.) Just something to keep in mind.

1. There are still some perks: a massage once a month.

2. None

Cons

1. There are many absurd, counterproductive setups at work. Every time something has to be entered into the internal system for archiving... it takes quite a while, even though the content is essentially the same as the reports required by the department. The content consists entirely of indicators that reflect things "after they have happened," yet we still have to go to great lengths to re-enter them into the company system!?

2. The company’s projects are driven by whatever the "highest-ranking" leader says. You never know what you will suddenly be asked to do. Every day may bring a surprise, and you are almost constantly monitored and chased for updates.

3. The managers are exceptionally skilled at passing the buck. No matter how capable a manager is, they may be assimilated after joining. I have to say that some are still extremely impressive in the industry, but when you work at this company, you will discover that it can actually assimilate highly capable people into experts at passing the buck. They may even band together to block dissenters (the simple standard for determining a dissenting party: anyone who infringes on the interests of most current managers).

4. Most of the comments in the other sections are more or less the same, so I will not elaborate.

All the benefits that should be provided are there on the surface.

The devil is in the details.

They call themselves a happy company—but what exactly is happy about it?

Can you really claim 900 million just by saying so?

You can only follow the rules set by the highest-ranking manager in each region.

If performance is below target,

you’re told to lead a team to plant flags; otherwise, “Why don’t you come sit in my position?”

If it’s not a good fit, leave quickly. 1111 has never been short of people.

Verbal bullying, emotional bullying—every word above is completely true.

The receptionist can help order lunch!

Cons

1. The receptionist can help order lunch, but this is about to be discontinued. After all, clocking in at 8:30 is company time, not meal-ordering time.

When business is poor, employees are required to log in and start making calls promptly at 8:30. If you arrive at the company between 8:28 and 8:30, you will be publicly shamed and called shameless.

2. Customer service staff already have to deal with a lot of vendors’ emotions, yet supervisors emotionally blackmail and bombard them with exhausting pressure every day, then blame poor performance on the employees!

If the company’s performance is so terrible, shouldn’t it just shut down? After all, the boss has demanded 900 million!!!!!!!

1111 has plenty of talent; perhaps the company should consider hiring new people instead of bullying and psychologically abusing employees through underhanded tactics and coercion. After the supervisor is done humiliating people, they make the subordinate supervisors do it, then have the team leaders do it too! Did we come to the company to be dogs? Can dogs make money?

3. It would be bad enough for supervisors to scold customer service staff, but they even publicly tell everyone not to think that meeting performance targets means everything is fine. The salaries of other departments that generate no value are also shouldered by customer service! If performance is poor and salaries cannot be paid, everyone will become unemployed together! (???)

4. Overtime is mandatory but unpaid. Everyone is required to make calls desperately; if you are not making calls, you are considered to be daydreaming, and everyone is gathered together and scolded. Some time-consuming administrative tasks, such as checking job-posting settings, recommending candidates to 2–3 companies every day, preparing quotations that are not immediately needed by vendors, and—when the daily target has not been met or there is a cumulative shortfall—pre-filling the next day’s schedule with seven vendor calls per hour, can only be completed by clocking out after 6 p.m. and then returning to your seat to finish the work. (If a vendor suddenly calls and takes up your time, and you do not finish all the scheduled calls, the supervisor will take the work away and assign it to someone else.)

Then they have the audacity to say, “I never asked you to work overtime!”

What is truly awful is that even headquarters allows people like this to make such shameless statements… It is utterly disgraceful.

5. The supervisor shouts every day that the economy is booming, and that poor performance is because we do not know how to sell. Every day, they brag about doing public relations and handing out business cards outside as if it were a KPI, and even paying for advertisements out of their own pocket. Wouldn’t joining the Lions Club be faster? It is shameless to feel so pleased with oneself over this kind of thing while misappropriating company resources.

6. When a vendor is not recruiting, we are told to say to the HR representative, “If you are not recruiting, I’m concerned about your future prospects!” They ask, “Do you dare say it? Do you dare confront the vendor?” Of course I don’t dare… Would you dare tell your classmates that your company is not hiring and has a bleak future?

7. If job seekers do not use 1111 to look for jobs, that is also customer service’s fault. Does that mean job seekers identify with the company? Does the company not need to take action or review these redundant employees who are supported by the customer service department?

8. It is impossible to tell what the company thinks customer service is.

The company limits the spring banquet budget to NT$1,000 per person. Food like this for NT$1,000 per person? No one dares say anything… Before the meal, the supervisor actually said, “Do you think the spring banquet committee paid for it? The boss paid out of his own pocket!” (Speechless.) The company has not even held an end-of-year banquet these past few years, yet they still have the nerve to loudly proclaim this… This says it all.

9. Apparently everyone feels the same way; the comments are very genuine! Someone here said they stutter, and it is amusing to see them get so angry that they talk about it and explain themselves every day…

It is still advisable for a job bank not to knowingly break the law. If it accidentally makes the news, it will be too late!

Whether the supervisor bullies employees, treats them unreasonably, publicly humiliates them, or psychologically abuses them—the employees know it in their hearts. Only people who feel guilty and inferior constantly seek validation.

Pros

The “workplace bullying” defined by the Labor Bureau refers to persistent offensive, threatening, neglectful, isolating, or humiliating behavior occurring in the workplace through abuse of power and unfair punishment. This causes the bullied person to feel frustrated, threatened, humiliated, isolated, and hurt, thereby undermining their self-confidence and placing them under severe physical and psychological stress.

I really have these out-of-control nightmares every day... The company doesn’t care about employees’ physical or mental health at all. I hope the Labor Bureau investigates. Anyway, there are surveillance cameras everywhere in the office in the dreams, so reviewing the relevant evidence should be very easy...

Cons

I dreamed that an employee was harassed for taking menstrual leave. The supervisor said that if the periods before and after it were less than a month apart, the employee could only take personal leave....

In the dream, a colleague had gynecological problems and often looked unwell, and was criticized for being negligent, absent-minded, and not focused on work.

This month, my period was very painful... I requested menstrual leave and said that after seeing a doctor, I was told that something had grown in my reproductive system and that I was advised to rest.

That supervisor insisted that if the periods before and after it were less than a month apart, I couldn’t take menstrual leave.

The only thing left was to take off my pants to prove it... Does this count as harassing an employee?

It seems there is no regulation saying that menstrual leave cannot be taken if the interval is less than a month.

In the end, the employee in the dream could only be forced to choose resignation.

There was also another supervisor in the dream who pressured employees to resign every day. He constantly yelled at employees and every half hour or hour would gather them together to stand at attention as punishment and berate them. Compared with Cambodia, the only thing missing here is physical abuse. It’s really absurd.

Every day I dream that he threatens and intimidates employees, saying they are the culprit behind the company’s impending closure: The company is going under... and it’s the employees’ fault! All kinds of sarcasm, all kinds of shouting and humiliation... It’s truly terrifying.

After yelling at everyone, he also says that if they’re unhappy, they can resign immediately and get out immediately. He wants people to leave, yet expects them to resign voluntarily?

Pros

The only thing might be the bento-box meals provided, which sometimes come with plain rice that doesn't taste good....

There are also many inexpensive restaurants downstairs from the company.

Cons

I don't work at the headquarters of the job bank, so I don't know about the situation in other departments. At least, I've seen that the Hunter department has very good supervisors and an operations team. I'm simply sharing about the work situation in the department I worked in. It feels like you can grow quite a lot on the Hunter team, and its supervisors seem to be very understanding.

The supervisor is the biggest reason the entire team is dragged down—namely, a certain manager.

The supervisor can't use Windows, Word, PowerPoint, or similar programs. After completing a presentation at roughly an elementary-school level, he happily announces it to everyone... Basically, don't hand documents over to him either. You'd rather spend extra time handling them yourself than expect him to do what he's supposed to do properly; otherwise, you'll have to put in several times more effort to clean up after him :) Sometimes, when we walk over to find him for a meeting, we discover him looking down and sucking on candy. As long as we don't say anything, he keeps sucking on it; we've secretly watched him many times and he never noticed... I really want to ask: So, can I play Puzzle Bobble?

Then he really likes asking the assistants to do things unrelated to work.

Helping move packages, buy eye drops, buy keyboards, chairs, computers—he expects them to buy all kinds of things for him. I even heard they once had to buy garbage bags, because the supervisor would bring trash into the company to throw away = = We even got told off by the cleaning lady for doing that....

Moreover, I don't know why unsuitable employees are always forcibly kept on just because they are obedient and don't raise too many opinions or ideas, but everyone has to bear that cost together, you know? (Because it affects everyone's monthly bonuses.)

When unsuitable employees need help, those of us who are capable have to put in a lot of effort to assist them and clean up after them, but their salaries don't come out of our pockets. Anyway, there are all kinds of utterly incomprehensible messes.

There are way too many ridiculous problems. You really shouldn't join this department; there absolutely won't be reasonable working hours or promotions, and you can forget about a raise too~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pros

Education: Graduates of senior high school or vocational high school are eligible to apply.

Experience: Relevant experience is not required, but if you want to experience what a negative environment is like, you can try going to the interview.

Interview: A single interview.

Those who make it through half an hour of the interview and are notified that a second interview is needed, or who are told phrases such as “we need to discuss this with management” as part of the interview “routine,” can ignore them, because this very likely means that you passed the interview. When you receive an email the next day notifying you to undergo a medical examination at a military hospital, that means you have been given an “opportunity to report for duty.”

However, this does not mean that you can go in and work there, because after joining there will be other troublesome matters to test you.

Alternatively, you can think about this again:

Why do the 1111 telemarketing and 1111 telephone customer service positions at the head office need to keep recruiting people?

Reflecting on this is important—please maintain clear powers of observation!

Cons

In 2022, the base salary was only NT$21,858!

Whether it has improved now is unknown!

I hope it has, because it really is a huge deception!

Telemarketing and telephone customer service are not high-end jobs, so they are highly replaceable and offer no value in terms of life experience.

The building is old, and the energy of the surrounding atmosphere is extremely poor. In one sentence: bad feng shui.

People who think they are tough enough and stay in the area for a long time end up having their vitality worn away as well.

This is because, in addition to the generally poor quality of the people who work here, many also have poor physical constitutions.

Even in this terrible environment, some people continue to hold on like lunatics, but their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being is all damaged, and their perspectives and thinking become increasingly narrow. The place is filled with an awful, unlucky atmosphere, and you will encounter the standard type of very long-serving, older colleague: someone with crooked intentions and a dispirited mindset. At a glance, they seem very pitiful and tragic. People of this kind, with such low-level thinking, are everywhere in the company.

Unless you have a special reason, I recommend that you not continue to insist on working at this company; there are also companies such as 104 that have more “humane” systems and are more in step with the times to choose from.

After reading this far, aren't you going to run away yet!

If you really still want to go, then go ahead. All I can say is that your experience value will not increase; instead, it will lower your understanding of what a normal person recognizes.

A department with two supervisors. Office staff have no performance pressure, but without notice, they were forcibly transferred to sales customer service. Their salaries did not increase, and their bonuses did not increase either; they were merely given under a different name. At weekly meetings, they still say what the current performance figures are, and every day they ask how much more is needed to reach the target. They say there is no performance requirement, but constantly remind everyone of it. They have a very strong need for control, and everything must follow their SOP.

The other supervisor likes to engage in underhanded tactics and privately harass employees, then claims not to have been involved in many matters. Even though the two of them clearly coordinated everything, he still lets things slip. They drove an employee to become ill and contemplate suicide, yet took pleasure in it and used very poor tactics to coax information out of people.

The behavior and rhetoric shared by these two will certainly open everyone's eyes.

Fake developmental discussions, real exploitation; lots of specious reasoning that does not make sense, and what they say is not credible.

The company's grievance system is fake, and very few complaints are ever escalated.

The president says that good-performing employees will receive raises, but when it comes to how much bonus money is paid and whose account it goes into, the key benefits are all taken away by A. Good employees do not get raises; those who slack off are more likely to get them. Choose your company carefully.

Background: This is a department that is not part of the head office; someone previously wrote about the continuing education website. Perhaps not every department is like this, but if you are considering joining this department, please think twice.

Blurring the line between public and private matters: In addition to delegating all work-related tasks, the department's senior manager also asks employees to handle personal errands. After joining, I was asked to help with online shopping, buying medicine, paying bills, and more. One colleague even helped verify the manager's personal invoices.

Distracted during meetings: During one meeting, I happened to notice the department's senior manager playing on his phone—not handling messages, but playing a once hugely popular match-three game. He was inattentive and distracted during the meeting, then needed help recalling the meeting's content afterward. Sometimes he would even question whether certain matters had been discussed during the meeting.

Disrespectful of professional expertise: To reduce costs, the website was left without an upgrade for a long time. Even after subordinates provided evidence of the benefits of upgrading, the department's senior manager still questioned the sources of the supporting materials and the reasons for the improvement in the data. Similar incidents happened repeatedly.

Unwilling to take responsibility: A famous saying of the department's senior manager is that he only looks at results, not the process. Decisions during the process were always left for subordinates to make after their own assessment; he would not offer his opinion, since the department's senior manager believed he did not need to know everything. But when the results did not meet expectations, the department's senior manager would ask why they had made that decision without consulting him first. In fact, subordinates had always sought his approval before carrying things out.

There are too many incidents to list individually. I hope everyone else working for a living can avoid stepping on a few of these landmines.

Although the company isn't a very large enterprise, at least most people recognize it when you mention its name. So if you want to pad your résumé, you won't have to worry about being furious every day. Welcome aboard.

Cons

Basically, I work in the continuing education division, not at the main office (the headquarters of the job bank), so I won't comment on the other departments. At least I've seen some very good supervisors and operations teams. This is simply a sharing of the working conditions in the continuing education division.

The supervisor is the biggest cause of the entire team being dragged down: a certain manager (the continuing education division has only one top boss).

He is a supervisor who cannot even use WORD. Whenever he touches any document, by the time it gets back to you, all kinds of formatting problems will have erupted throughout the tables. You spend more time fixing things for him than showing your own expertise. During work hours, he likes to play mobile games and secretly watch videos, and then he never makes any decisions. He always makes the people below him decide for him. Although he calls it giving you the freedom to perform, he basically never makes important decisions because he is very afraid of taking responsibility.

Don't even get me started on the planning team. The supervisor likes to look for "easy-to-control" puppets—employees who will go along with all kinds of unreasonable demands he makes and who do not have too many of their own ideas or opinions. (Can you imagine how you are supposed to be creative when the planning team has no independent ideas?) As a result, the planning team has basically never been properly staffed for three or four years. It is not that the people who joined lacked ability; even capable people could not stay. They wanted to leave before they had even figured out the internal structure. It is simply impossible for them to do good marketing plans for you. Also, planners are ideally expected to write copy, edit videos, create special effects, and make all kinds of design materials. Of course, it would be even better if they also knew how to adjust the brightness of the ceiling lights for the supervisor, buy things from online marketplaces, buy garbage bags, and handle various other odd jobs.

The sales department is even more frightening. As a salesperson, you are expected to shoulder several hundred thousand in costs for the entire department! And they still will not consider you valuable; the supervisor is the greatest of all.

There are just too many ridiculous tasks. Do not join this department. You absolutely will not get reasonable working hours, promotions, or salary increases—don't even think about it~~~~~~~~~~~~

There are no advantages. The application listed the position as a telesales customer service specialist, but in reality it involves calling small and medium-sized businesses to ask whether they need website listings, website development, keywords, and so on.

Cons

The interview environment was cramped and outdated. The interviewer had scheduled the interview for 16:00, but after we arrived, we waited nearly 15 minutes before it began. Holding the résumés of three people, the interviewer asked some questions about the résumés and why we had left our previous jobs, but did not proactively explain the benefits, salary, or compensation. They simply stated that the base salary was 26,000, with a perfect-attendance bonus of 1,000. They also mentioned a second interview, which was extremely frustrating and wasted everyone’s time. Even the sales commissions could only be explained clearly at the second interview. As an interviewer for 1111 Job Bank, this person’s professionalism is questionable.

An unsolicited, anonymous mass email from a platform soliciting project proposals

Have you ever been asked to provide operational or project-planning suggestions before or during a job interview?

Cons

【The person involved】🖋🖋🖋

A while ago, I received an email from “an employee in the Administration Department.” It was a very strange email exchange.

The content is below. Has anyone else received one?

📨📨📨(Original text reproduced↓↓)

Dear Sir/Madam,

Sorry to bother you! 1111 Job Bank is undergoing comprehensive reforms and striving to become more youthful and customized. In addition to the main 1111 website, we are also setting up Taiwan’s one-of-a-kind university network, the TUN community platform (https://university.1111.com.tw/zone/university/index.asp).

You are welcome to browse the site and share your suggestions and ideas with me. If approved by the supervisor, we will arrange an interview to discuss where you could contribute.

If you are able to join us, in addition to offering excellent compensation and free lunch and dinner, we can also provide a luxury residence near the company, next to an MRT station, as employee accommodation.

We welcome your reply at your earliest convenience. Thank you very much!

↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭ I am a separator ↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭

【The person involved】🖋🖋🖋

It was obvious at a glance that this was a mass email sent to people in the marketing talent database, fishing blindly for project proposals. However, since I wanted to pursue an interview opportunity and was curious myself, I replied with a simple PPT addressing visual and page problems that users would notice at a glance, along with suggestions for optimizing the platform framework—about four pages in total.

In my reply, I emphasized that since I was not yet employed by 1111, the proposal was my personal copyrighted work, so I could not provide overly detailed content. If they were interested, they could arrange an interview and make an offer.

🔙🔙🔙Unexpectedly, I received another reply from 1111, as follows🔙🔙🔙

Hello! Sorry to bother you again!

Since your suggestions have received the attention of senior management, we would first like to ask what times would be convenient for you to interview?

The interview may be conducted by video or in person!

You should also prepare a presentation for the interview. It must include an evaluation of the existing platform and how it could be improved, as well as how the university-network community platform should be marketed in the future so that students will become aware of it. You may add any other content yourself!

In addition, we have a somewhat presumptuous request: senior management hopes that you can also conduct a comprehensive review of and provide suggestions for the 1111 Job Bank website!

↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭ I am a separator ↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭

【The person involved】🖋🖋🖋

(Wow, didn’t I already say that if you’re interested in the ideas, that also means you recognize them, so we could discuss the interview and offer then? But instead, they asked for even more...)

So I replied again↓↓↓

1. In one or two rounds of email exchanges, you have not mentioned what position your company is currently recruiting for?!

2. Regarding providing a more detailed operational presentation, your initial email was not an individual contact but a mass blind-copy email soliciting business suggestions for your company. Since I was very interested in pursuing an interview opportunity, I replied with some preliminary suggestions and stated that any details would need to be discussed as an employee after joining.

3. After all, your company is a professional talent-recruitment platform with many years of experience and should place great importance on patent and copyright protection. Moreover, I am not yet an official 1111 employee and cannot continue providing project proposals free of charge.

If your company is interested in my operational concepts, after you make a formal offer, I can enter the company and discuss the details in depth with the supervisors and colleagues. Therefore, I’m afraid I must decline your request for additional proposal planning at this time.

If your supervisors and HR are still willing to proceed with an interview to discuss the job details and employee benefits, we can arrange one on X/X or O/O.

🔙🔙🔙This supervisory-level employee replied again as follows🔙🔙🔙(Original text reproduced)

Ms. X:

What the job bank is currently seeking is marketing professionals to support the establishment of the university network. The position or title will be determined according to your qualifications; anything from a manager-level role to vice president is possible!

We fully understand your position and insistence, so we will not ask for any more details!

Since the president of the job bank has something to attend to on O/O, and X/X is the job bank’s monthly meeting, may I ask whether Ms. X has another available time, in the morning or afternoon?

↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭ I am a separator ↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭↭

【The person involved】🖋🖋🖋

I had originally thought about meeting the president or supervisor, but I really felt it was not worth it. Why waste my time going there to trade words with them? I did not reply with a time when I could attend, and they did not follow up either. So clearly, this was a scheme to collect project proposals.

I asked some friends, and one had also been invited to an interview in the past and was asked to write a SWOT analysis 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I also posted a question on LinkedIn, which prompted a former 1111 employee to say: “Speaking as someone who has been through it, opinions may vary. They have always used this method to select candidates, but at least you don’t need to worry too much—they won’t take your ideas and use them elsewhere.”

I don’t agree with that response, because I often encounter companies like this: after they have asked you questions and tested you, you still don’t get the job, but they use your ideas. Hello?! Who says it is reasonable to get this work for free? If you want me to write a proposal, pay me for it—you don’t need to hire me.

What kind of manager-level or even vice-president-level position is recruited through blind mass emails sent out fishing for candidates?

Without even mentioning what position is available, they use all kinds of incentives to lure you into giving away your ideas?

If a company employs so many project planners, operations staff, and even senior executives, yet none of them has any ideas or can manage or operate a platform properly, and then needs to use its own platform’s members to send out mass anonymous emails collecting proposals,

then why not fire the entire project-planning department and senior management and just give me the salaries? 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 I’d accept that~

Pros

1. There is little factional infighting, and the big boss keeps close tabs on the managers every day (by holding meetings).

2. It is a major brand with many cross-industry collaborations, so people on the planning side can get to know quite a few vendors (and have opportunities to switch jobs XD).

3. Lunch and dinner are both free, so newcomers can save money by eating at the company (it is about the same as school lunch XD).

4. Overtime pay is fully reimbursed based on actual hours worked, so people who often work overtime can significantly boost their income.

5. If you can make the project components look polished or express yourself well, your résumé will be considered quite valuable XD. At the very least, recruiters may headhunt you, and it is a major plus when applying for a part-time master’s program or something similar.

Cons

1. A good manager goes to heaven; a bad manager goes to hell. This is based on my experience working in more than one department at this company, so I think it is the same at every company—even my previous employer, which was also a major brand.

2. If you happen to encounter a manager who is difficult to resist, subordinates work themselves to death and shoulder a pile of responsibilities—a hellish battlefield. On the other hand, some departments have managers with more power, who can push things away. However, you must be able to work independently: the workplace is a battlefield, and you cannot fight without weapons.

3. You often have to write very tedious reports, and the content is usually very similar XD. I just rephrase things and treat it as writing practice XD.

4. Do not negotiate your salary casually—hold your bottom line. The salary range here is very wide, depending on the manager’s ability to assess people XD.

5. I have not yet participated in professional development opportunities or the year-end party, possibly because of the pandemic. Quite a few benefits have been suspended without any accompanying arrangements.

The above is based on my actual experience—no exaggeration and no taking sides, just sharing.

I thought I had joined a well-known company, but the manager yells at people every day, and I don't even know what they're yelling about. We often have to gather as a team for talks 7–8 times a day. They also say they don't know when the company will shut down, so we're just waiting to be laid off—it’s still better than being unable to find a job during the pandemic. It's a case of making do with whatever is available.

The internal sales team is divided into groups, and the allocation of vendor lists is rather unfair… The good lists always go to the veterans, while new hires never get them.

The colleagues are very nice

Cons

The supervisor has supreme dignity and unlimited official authority.

1111 A petty emperor who abuses his power from his underground kingdom.

They took on a redundant employee who has been unable to complete basic tasks for a long time, yet refuse to admit it. All they do is keep inflating the useless employee’s performance reviews; it can only be called an educational miracle to cover up their own incompetence. Colleagues handling basic tasks also take turns cleaning up the mess and teaching them—teaching them until even my grandma could do it.

The supervisor~subjectively believes that customer service staff are all brainless + lazy, so whenever customer service has a problem, the supervisor restricts others from helping too much. On the one hand, this reduces the amount of work; on the other, it ensures that the redundant employee is less likely to make mistakes while doing basic tasks. So whenever anyone speaks up to help customer service, they are accused of looking for trouble.

The supervisor’s personal characteristics:

Extremely hypocritical—an SSR-level double standard.

Shifts the blame whenever something happens, and even uses former employees as scapegoats (WTF???

Cherishes the redundant employee (is this love taken to a tragic extreme???

For details, search Tianyancha using the keywords (cardboard-box supervisor/redundant employee) for related articles.

The documented records are extremely detailed, 100% based on real events, with absolutely no exaggeration. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.

If you are a useless company, welcome.

If you are an outstanding talent, you will work until you suffer a cerebral hemorrhage.

If you want to see a petty emperor with your own eyes, you’re welcome to join—whether you’re male or female.

As several other experienced predecessors mentioned above, the interview for the “PR Special Assistant” position was divided into three stages. Each stage included a presentation assignment, requiring the interviewee to provide different strategies.

By the third stage, I felt that something was not quite right. Generally speaking, a company would not require so many strategic proposals or project-management plans from an interviewee who had no knowledge of the company’s organization or resources. Therefore, during the final round, I privately exchanged LinkedIn contact information with the other candidates I met after the interviews to stay in touch.

About a week later, we discovered that everyone had received thank-you letters informing them that they had not been selected. Throughout the process, however, we had continually been asked to submit interview presentation strategy documents. Judging from the previous comments… the same thing continues to happen at this company.

I sincerely warn all candidates preparing to interview at this company: please be sure to refuse presentation strategy assignments. They are merely continually collecting the results of everyone’s brainstorming while wasting job seekers’ time. Despite being a major recruitment website, the company engages in this unethical behavior. If you see a request for an interview presentation assignment, refuse it immediately—do not fall into this kind of job-hunting trap.

An utterly awful company. I heard they completely failed to hold year-end parties for two consecutive years, without even the slightest acknowledgment or gesture. They even created a standard for “happy companies,” yet they themselves do not meet even the minimum standard. They still dare to include year-end bonuses as an option on their employee benefits page. I sincerely advise job seekers not to consider this company—don’t waste your time. Its benefits are worse than those of 80% of companies in the market. I also advise all businesses considering posting on the 1111 platform to think carefully about the standards of a company that created the “happy company” standard. What on earth is the management doing?

If you're looking for a temporary place to land while searching for something better, you could give it a try.

Meals provided; overtime pay can be claimed.

Senior management is very reasonable.

Highly skilled at office politics.

Cons

The middle managers lack professional knowledge,

but their rhetoric is good.

If you want to develop professional skills, you may want to reconsider staying.

Specialists more or less need to help them get things done.

They likewise lack professional knowledge.

This was my first time encountering people who couldn't figure out how to allocate data across left and right skewed distributions.

They're very afraid of people finding out that they're not professionals.

Yet, despite not understanding things, they love to offer opinions.

Hmm... in interviews, the more “valuable” the position is said to be, the bigger the pitfall seems to be.

Usually, the president's words are the benchmark,

so requests are often both fast and urgent.

The middle managers lack expertise and don't take responsibility.

When something comes up, they seem to only know how to ask XDD.

They can't even clearly determine how long ago the data was last updated or what its status is.

When asked to take responsibility, they get all huffy.

Those considering data analysis should think twice.

Pros

Provides lunch, and some colleagues are easy to get along with

Learned how to deceive people with a guilty conscience (Does that count as an advantage?)

Cons

1. I remember someone mentioning that the year-end bonus was only NT$3,000. However, those receiving this amount were probably employees who had worked for less than a year. Even so, the year-end bonus was still appallingly low and even laughable, because even after working for more than a year, the year-end bonus was only NT$7,000—less than half a month’s salary. And the company still claims to be a “happy enterprise”!!

2. Department managers do things entirely according to their personal preferences. They allocate good resources to employees who are closer to them or know how to flatter them. For example, business opportunities under the names of departing employees that had a chance of closing were mostly assigned to these favored employees for development, resulting in an unfair distribution of resources. In addition, when these employees usually made mistakes or received customer complaints, the managers would not scold them, nor would they bring the matter up with others during the daily morning meeting. If these employees failed to mention the required number of companies participating in the company’s current promotional campaign when speaking with vendors, as the manager required every day, the manager would not reprimand them either.

3. The company only spends unnecessary money to attract job seekers to sign up as members, but the system is difficult and overly complicated to use. Therefore, even when it offers promotions such as giving out NT$10,000 red envelopes for finding a job or anniversary celebrations, it still cannot beat its competitors.

4. We also have to attend remote meetings with upper management two days a week. The opinions raised are usually not adopted and are even considered unimportant, so why waste time holding meetings?

5. Because of the pandemic and the approaching Lunar New Year, everyone’s performance was difficult to achieve, yet the company was unwilling to proactively lower everyone’s performance targets. It pressured everyone about their performance all day long, showing no empathy. Previously, the company even took VIP vendors under employees’ names that had a chance of closing—vendors that had not been successfully developed through marketing or had performance below 60%—and reassigned them to others. When performance was already poor, they still took away the vendors; it was essentially forcing people to leave.

6. The system is difficult to use, and there are not as many job seekers as on the other platform. Even the marketing pages and profile pages they launch are ridiculous. They have also promoted industry-academia collaborations that had not yet gone live to vendors, hoping to get them to pay to join. They were essentially damaging their own reputation.

7. The company provides only two days of training, so putting new employees on the job is basically a test for the colleagues around them, who have to spend time teaching them. If a new employee is unfortunately assigned next to certain emotionally volatile colleagues, they should take extra care. They may be severely scolded by the person next to them, or that person may say things like “I’ll strangle you” or “I’ll beat you to death,” scaring them away!

Fortunately, I left this company. Otherwise, if I had stayed any longer, I might have needed to see a psychiatrist.

Pros

Probably the only good thing is that they’re very rich (?)

Cons

Extremely disrespectful toward interviewees.

The interview time was changed again and again.

HR couldn’t even reliably notify me of the changes.

Emails sent to HR were never answered; I could only wait.

An interview isn’t just about the employer finding a suitable employee.

Candidates are also evaluating whether the company is a good fit.

The attitude of everyone in the company, from top to bottom, was truly an eye-opener.

A company that touts itself as a happy workplace, where the boss only makes grand speeches every day and has no idea that the vendors’ results are very poor. There are very few job applicants, and every customer service representative has to rely on personal connections and selling face to achieve results. They keep saying they want to surpass 1x4, yet do nothing to address the current shortage of talent. Meetings run from morning until night every day, without anyone knowing what they have actually solved. Regarding the three holiday bonuses, I heard from senior colleagues that they were already NT$500 more than a decade ago. Even though the minimum wage has been raised so many times, the amount has never increased. The longer you stay, the more your performance targets increase, which amounts to a disguised pay cut. The boss repeatedly claims to hope that customer service representatives can earn an annual salary of one million, but ironically, those who stay longer earn less and less. They take advantage of experienced customer service representatives and use an unfair performance calculation system. Since the company is a family business, filing a complaint is useless; the only option is to resign. They refuse to change. Every day there are endless questionnaires to complete, and you are not allowed to tell the truth, because if you do, you will be assigned even more work.

This is the first time I've encountered a company that doesn't provide water during an interview. My mouth was so parched I was practically dying of thirst. Seeing so many negative reviews online, I thought that, at the very least, since it was a recognizable company, it probably wouldn't be that bad. But it turned out that from beginning to end, they did nothing but belittle people, as if they were the only ones who were capable, the best, and the strongest. The interview had barely started, and I already wanted to leave. Just like in another review, they told me, “You seem to be a bit quiet.” I was already full just listening to you brag about how noble you are, and then you criticized me for being quiet. Was I interviewing you, or were you interviewing me? Why don't you go interview for another company yourself—and then keep talking nonstop without letting HR get a word in? You don't know how to conduct an interview, yet you sit there criticizing me and saying all sorts of things about me. Why is it that I can interview for over an hour elsewhere, but here it was over in no time? No wonder you're recruiting all the time. I must have been out of my mind to come and give this place a try. An interview is an opportunity for both sides to get to know each other, not a chance for you to show off, belittle people, or act like you think you're being funny. BTW, the restroom is very dirty.

Pros

The front desk staff are very nice.

Cons

The relationships between men and women are a mess. There are countless cases of married male managers being overly close with unmarried female colleagues—chatting on LINE during work and going shopping after work. It’s outrageously blatant.

They love throwing money around to impress outsiders, but are extremely stingy with their own employees.

As long as a man is useless enough or a woman is promiscuous enough, they can live comfortably.

They call themselves a “happy company,” but the internal employees are left scratching their heads.

I have no idea whether all the company’s many meetings are just for keeping the boss entertained or because everyone genuinely loves holding meetings.

Incompetent managers and colleagues who slack off—the company is a classic example of overburdening the capable.

A well-known company

Cons

It is a telemarketing job.

The supervisor at the Kaohsiung office... whenever the performance is poor,

he constantly yells at and verbally abuses the customer service staff.

Several times a day, every day—it happens constantly.

During training, we listened to recordings for review, and you could hear him insulting people in the recordings.

I heard that a vendor complained directly that someone kept yelling, and even mocked the company, saying, “Your company is so big... yet the supervisor still has such poor manners.”

Maybe this is part of his job responsibilities, but frequently swearing at employees is outright bullying, or even psychological abuse...

Several times, I heard him yell, “If you’re unhappy, just click [resign].” Anyway, Kaohsiung could be shut down at any time! If it closes, it’s all because of you.

I was speechless... If the company could be dissolved at any time, why did you still interview and hire us?

Those considering applying should think twice.

I’m glad I left... even now, thinking about it still feels terrifying.

Pros

Meals are provided (but the food quality is inconsistent), and you can leave work on time.

Cons

The bureaucracy is extremely heavy, and there are endless meetings every day.

The full attendance bonus is only provided after three months, and it is just 500. There is no gift box for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Some floors are not fit for people to stay on; the pantry and restrooms are extremely dirty and messy.

Certain managers in the department I worked in were terrible. Both the highest-ranking department manager and a lower-level manager were somewhat emotional, especially the lower-level manager. He made problematic decisions, brought his personal emotions into work assignments, and even verbally harassed specific colleagues in private. He also forced the employees he managed to flatter the managers above him. During my short time there, I witnessed personnel changes involving seven colleagues. Even when the issue was reported to the manager above him, he remained unmoved, believing that none of the problems raised by employees were actually problems.

If you are applying for a specialist or assistant position in the某X Sales Department, you really need to think carefully; otherwise, staying there too long might lead you to seek psychological counseling.

I’m trying hard to think of any pros.

Cons

Basically, really, really, really, don’t even consider working at 1111.

The benefits are truly scraping the bottom of the barrel. I don’t know what the welfare committee is even there for. At the end of last year, the year-end banquet was changed to a spring banquet, but because of the pandemic, it simply disappeared. The company didn’t issue any notice at all and just did away with the spring banquet, without even making any statement. They saved a lot of money—this is a company that clearly never considers its employees. And yet you still promote yourselves as meeting the standards of a “happy enterprise.” Do you actually meet those standards? If you’re seriously thinking about your career plans, my sincere advice is not to go. This company makes no effort at all to run its welfare committee. I strongly recommend that everyone think twice!

Pros

The overall reception was fairly polite, and there was water to drink. It was raining that day, and they asked whether I had gotten wet.

Cons

The position I interviewed for was Human Resources Consultant, and I went because I had received an invitation.

After submitting my information, I waited in a small cubicle for a while before the interviewer arrived. Apart from answering questions, the interviewer basically talked to themselves the entire time. They talked about the company's size and business model—things that can essentially be found by looking at the company's website. It felt like they had not looked at the interviewer's résumé or work expectations. When I asked about compensation and working hours, they brushed it off vaguely, merely boasting about the company's achievements (many headhunting companies' sources of resources), making grand promises (to become the largest headhunting company in Asia), and so on. I could not get a word in. Then they brought up the three-word mantra, "responsibility-based system." By that point, I was completely put off. Even though I was sitting properly, I was told, "You don't seem very lively," and that I could not work as a consultant that way.

That's right—I can't work in any role at your company. Please don't contact me. Thank you, and please do not contact me again.

Pros

None at all

Cons

1. Threatens employees all day long, with the sole purpose of forcing them to resign voluntarily so the company can save on severance pay.

2. Management says in every meeting that they hope everyone will earn an annual salary of one million, which only makes those below want to roll their eyes. Most people do not earn an annual salary of one million because performance targets keep being raised as seniority increases.

3. The company clearly employs planners, yet everyone is often asked to help come up with activities. What are the planners there for, then?

4. They keep saying they want to surpass their competitors. It would be nice if they could actually do so: their system is worse than the competitors’, they have fewer talented employees, and their breach-of-contract rate is higher. None of these issues are improved, yet they still expect vendors to spend money advertising here.

5. There are endless forms and questionnaires to fill out all day long. It is genuinely painful.

6. Some departments have almost nothing to do; their employees play on their phones or watch videos at work, can leave on time, and even receive higher salaries. The company does nothing about it and only exploits the customer service department, threatening them at the slightest opportunity.

7. They promote being a happy company, but this company is not happy at all, because the boss takes all the money. When performance targets are not met, most of the bonuses are deducted.

8. Don’t even ask about the year-end bonus—it is frighteningly low.

9. Everyone is constantly asked to test the system and provide lots of feedback, but most of the suggestions are usually not implemented. Sometimes, even though a large number of bugs have been found during testing, the system has already been made public. It is simply laughable—why spend time testing it?

Cons

1. Every time, they ask everyone to test the app and website, which is always a huge waste of time because the suggestions are almost never implemented. So why waste our time?

2. The company only ever criticizes employees with poor performance, saying that their sales scripts are inadequate or questioning whether the assigned scripts were actually communicated to the vendors. They never examine why the company is losing to its competitors; they just live in their own world.

3. They only ever ask whether we agree with the company’s activities or principles. Many managers say they agree, but those of us below them can only roll our eyes.

4. Vendor allocation is extremely unfair. When employees leave, the vendors are almost always assigned to a specific few people, with no attempt to distribute them fairly among everyone, causing resentment and exclusion among colleagues.

5. They threaten employees all day long. If performance is poor, they do everything they can to torment you—in the end, they simply want you to resign voluntarily so the company can save on severance pay.

Pros

No advantages

Cons

1. Every day, a male manager gathers 50 customer service representatives and makes them stand at attention while he berates everyone for being terrible (99.9% of the customer service staff are women). This happens about as often as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and morning and afternoon snack times. (If you don't want to stand as punishment, try to find things to do while sitting... or call vendors so they can hear how embarrassing he is.)

2. After the Lunar New Year, the company suddenly kept saying that the southern branch was going to close and that employees could be laid off at any time... We advise customer service candidates not to try this lightly.

(Because the company won't spend money to lay you off; it will only pressure you to leave~)

3. Customer accounts and resources are taken away at will... After all the effort put into developing them, you're mocked for monopolizing vendors...

4. Employees are forced to clock out punctually at 6:00 p.m.~ Overtime hours for noon and holiday shifts are undercounted (so if you can avoid taking shifts, don't take them.)

5. 1111 is already the most expensive platform in Taiwan! Unless you have great confidence in the effectiveness of posting on 1111, it is one thing not to sell anything and make no money; the real breakdown comes from being bullied in the workplace by a male manager with a psychologically twisted personality. (Based on observation... the effectiveness of postings is all claimed by customer service representatives! After all~ when a vendor's posting performs poorly, it's the fault of both customer service and the vendor.)

Relying on connections or being appointed through imperial relatives and trusted insiders to parachute into the company is very important; the salary is also at least 10K higher than that of many people who got in through interviews ^ _ ^

Cons

There are far too many things to say about this company.

1. There are a bunch of relatives and insiders; with connections, everything is easy to arrange.

2. The mindset is traditional, and they won’t listen to advice.

3. They spend all day wanting to take down 104, yet can’t accept innovative proposals. They only want to create “warm and touching” content, but the promotional materials are unbelievably bad. Instead of being warm and touching, they end up full of things to mock.

4. High turnover.

5. The managers themselves don’t know how to do their jobs and have no idea what’s going on.

The year-end bonus is pitiful. They say it is based on performance achievement rates, but employees with poor performance or less than one year of service only receive NT$3,000. Yet they keep saying that when talking to vendors, they hope to make money so the boss can provide the best benefits to employees. So, has the company itself actually done that?

Holidays are clearly supposed to be rest days, but the company group chat is noisy all day long. They say they hope we will provide our opinions, but after we do, the company does not adopt them because the boss's ideas are supposedly the best. They are clearly outdated, but the supervisors always agree with the boss and then keep complaining behind his back!

When customers report that the system is difficult to use and decide not to join, the company always calls it an old problem and says we should not make excuses for poor performance. They have never thought about improving the system; they only organize a bunch of expensive activities and claim that job seekers will use us because of the money. But our system is simply terrible, and both job seekers and customers often do not want to use us because of it.

In addition, the company has endless surveys to fill out. We are asked to question vendors, but we are not allowed to submit negative responses. Then why ask us to question vendors at all? Just don't ask them! This is a vendor with an overly positive view of itself.

Pros

1. Some departments have regular working hours (choosing the right department is very important!)

2. The workload is not particularly heavy (choosing the right department is very important!)

3. Even if you are completely incompetent, you will not be dismissed (because the company would have to pay severance)

4. Bonuses on three traditional holidays / birthday cash gifts

5. Massage services are available

6. Meals are provided (basically, they are difficult to eat: undercooked rice and eggshells in the food are commonplace)

7. Travel subsidies are available (only after one year of employment)

8. Overtime pay can be claimed (this may also depend on the department)

Cons

1. The company is full of long-serving deadwood and meddlesome senior employees. Even after working there for a long time, they have no desire to improve their abilities and only cause trouble for others. I once encountered a salesperson who did not even know what the cloud was.

2. Managers are experts at passing the buck; when problems arise, they only tell you to ask someone else.

3. Managers dump a pile of work on their subordinates and then spend work hours browsing online shopping sites.

4. The company basically does not fire people because it does not want to pay severance. You will see employees or assistants in some departments whose duties could be completed in an hour, yet they spend work hours constantly playing games, taking selfies, cooking instant noodles, sweeping the floor, and even doing their nails.

5. The pay is extremely low, and meal costs are forcibly deducted.

6. The seniority system is extremely serious; there are many people who act extremely arrogantly just because they have worked there for ten years.

7. During my employment, I witnessed one bullying incident after another.

8. The company loves to stir up political issues. The boss has a very obvious political stance and even singles people out during meetings to ask about their political views.

9. Every day, you are required to provide new opinions and ideas, but they are never accepted. Basically, the boss is waiting for you to say “what they want,” not “what you think is good.”

10. The sales department has unlimited power. Even when what they say is illogical, you still have to follow them; there is absolutely no professionalism.

Pros

1. You can get a massage every month (if you manage to get a slot)

2. The company provides meals (if the rice is cooked through and the vegetables are hot, we count ourselves lucky)

3. There is a nurse (who really loves gossiping about other people)

4. There are fruits for worship on the second and sixteenth days of the lunar month (you get to pick up what the supervisors leave behind)

Cons

1. An extremely bureaucratic system. The boss basically asks and answers his own questions; if you don't go along with what he wants, just wait to be messed with.

2. The boss is strongly political. He may even express his personal political opinions halfway through a meeting, and will throw a fit if you don't like his political party.

3. They say they believe in democracy and want to build a happy company, but in reality, this is the most exploitative and overworked company of all (eye roll).

4. Factional infighting is obvious. The first and second generations don't get along; choose a side and the other side will target you, while trying to remain neutral turns you into a sandwich filling—you'll die even faster.

5. Pay and raises both depend on the supervisor's mood, with no consistent standards. Specialists who know how to lie and fake things, and assistants who work themselves to death, are everywhere.

6. Putting on a good front is absolutely more important than knowing how to get things done. Those who know how to pass the buck live comfortably, while those who actually do the work work themselves to death, putting in so much overtime that they start questioning their life.

7. The company's constantly changing directives and conflicting chains of command have been longstanding complaints. You often have no idea what you're actually doing.

8. Nonprofessionals direct the professionals. No matter the department, everything is centered on the business units—they have the final say.

9. Even the professional departments aren't necessarily much better. Managers and supervisors at every level who pretend to understand things they don't are everywhere.

After seeing so many supervisors and employees get mistreated, I specifically wrote this cautionary post.

If you have a deep enough poker face, are good enough at putting on an act, and don't mind being overworked, exhausted, or poorly paid, welcome to the Human (slave) Resources (servitude) Bank.

Occasionally there are incentive bonuses or bubble tea drinks available.

Cons

The overtime pay is pitifully low.

The supervisors are constantly flattering the boss, only telling the boss the positive side and absolutely never mentioning the negative side.

Although we were hired as internal sales staff responsible for making calls to develop new business, we are often asked to ask vendors a whole bunch of questions. There are endless questionnaires to fill out every day!

Although the company's systems are terrible, both externally and internally, there is no effort to improve them. They only blame us for poor performance and say our sales scripts are the problem!

Good vendors are always assigned to senior employees, while new employees have to develop their own accounts. The training system is also inadequate: you are put directly on the job on your third day. On the first and second days, they only tell you what projects the company handles. After you go live, unless you happen to sit next to helpful senior colleagues, they will teach you the sales scripts and systems step by step.

Pros

The interviewer seemed like a nice person and chatted with you about quite a few things.

Cons

The interview was probably in April or May of last year.

At the time, I interviewed for the App Test Engineer position in the Mobile Development Department.

The interviewer said that because many customers had complained that 1111's app was difficult to use, the company had created this department separately to focus on improving the app software.

He had been recruited from elsewhere for the position.

However, he mentioned that since it was a new department, the company had previously not placed much importance on software.

The app had originally been written by the Internet Department (I think) as an additional responsibility.

Because the Mobile Development Department had only recently become independent, resource integration and cross-department communication were still quite disorganized.

Therefore, there would probably be many miscellaneous tasks and a lot of hard work in the Mobile Development Department.

From a professional standpoint, someone who knows how to use Appium to create automated testing scripts for mobile phones should be in fairly high demand.

The salary would probably be around NT$40,000–50,000 per month.

If you had all the skills they needed, it might be possible to negotiate a little higher,

but you probably shouldn't get your hopes up too much,

after all, 1111 isn't a pure technology company.

The office where the interview took place felt a little old-fashioned.

I interviewed on the 14th floor.

The interior environment was not as clean and bright as in the sample photos.

Those were my impressions of the interview at the time.

As an aside, I just looked at 1111's app,

and it seems more streamlined and better-looking,

with improved functionality as well.

The department seems to have achieved some results.

As for other issues with 1111 (it's a family business),

I'll leave those out since they aren't related to the interview XD

3. There is a gym.

5. There is a not-so-great Secret Santa gift exchange.

6. Fingerprint timekeeping when clocking in and out.

Cons

1. The supervisor leads the bullying of colleagues by gossiping about them while pretending to be on good terms with them.

2. The regional supervisor's emotional manipulation creates a lot of pressure.

3. Salary adjustments are difficult, and the supervisor will not help.

4. It is often necessary to appease the supervisor's emotions.

5. Taking leave will result in the supervisor making things difficult; people the supervisor likes are not given a hard time.

6. We are not allowed to chat during morning meetings, but the supervisor can chat continuously?

7. Even after work, the supervisor keeps frantically messaging people on Facebook Chat.

8. The supervisor is two-faced, immediately badmouthing the other person after hanging up the phone.

Pros

There were three supervisors present during the interview, but when I started working, I was assigned to a completely different supervisor who had not appeared at all.

The job responsibilities were also explained very unclearly during the interview (the supervisor from another department had no clear understanding of the progress or content of the projects handled by the department I was joining).

I later heard that having supervisors from other departments conduct interviews was intended to prevent managers from placing relatives or friends in positions to draw a salary without working.

The company has an audit department mainly staffed by retired military officers—essentially a small East Factory.

There is serious infighting between departments, but those at the top seem very keen for department heads to fight among themselves for favor.

It feels as if one faction is afraid that everyone will join forces to take advantage of the company.

Cons

After leaving the company, you can no longer use your 1111 account to look for jobs; otherwise, a former colleague might snoop on you (one supervisor really loves checking which companies former colleagues have sent résumés to).

Some parts of the office are good, while others are terrible. The air conditioning fluctuates between being too cold and too hot. Your computer may also be monitored by the company; look for a small V-shaped symbol in the lower-right corner. Everything you do will be recorded. The company also uses Skype with company accounts, and you cannot create your own account because it makes retrieving records convenient for them. Therefore, it is recommended that you do not use company computers for personal matters, such as logging into online banking or personal email. In addition, the company shows very little respect for talent and treats employees as disposable. Senior managers are usually unintelligent and unprofessional. They are often mediocre employees who became managers after a group of outstanding employees left. They frequently set incorrect KPIs and then force you to meet them, while pushing the responsibility onto subordinates. Customer service positions are essentially sales positions—you have to shoulder performance targets. Senior customer service staff bully junior staff, veteran employees bully newcomers, and there is usually also infighting between customer service departments (extremely serious). Senior executives even engage in sexual harassment (there are witnesses) and then pressure you to leave. The company has a legal department; whenever something seems potentially illegal, they pressure you extremely hard. The administrative department may be the only relatively safe option, but many people there also have connections. In short, I personally think this is a company that is absolutely not worth staying at. If you want to go there to slack off or see what the market is like, go ahead, but do not stay, because the people who remain are all useless. Best wishes to everyone.

Pros

There may be tea and water.

Cons

Some positions require a “practical presentation” during the second interview. The second interview may involve a group of senior managers and people whose roles are unclear, and the explanation may be interrupted or distorted from time to time. If things go relatively smoothly but the presentation does not sufficiently align with the current situation, a third interview with a clearly defined topic may be required.

Pros

Everyone is very pleasant during the interview,

but the salary they offer is very, very, very low.

Cons

Overtime is your own business and has nothing to do with the company.

You also have to cooperate by going out to hold lectures and events on holidays; you only get compensatory leave and no overtime pay, and you will be humiliated even when you take the leave.

Every Friday, they clock you out punctually at the end of working hours, even if you have not finished work.

Pros

1. There is a free lunch box at noon, but it’s quite oily, and you have to bring your own utensils. The portions are inconsistent—sometimes more, sometimes less.

2. It is considered a well-known company, and if you have the ability, it should be able to serve as a stepping stone.

Cons

1. The company policies are even more convoluted than a hairpin turn—twist after twist.

2. Senior management often works overtime, making it difficult for frontline employees to get things done.

3. There is internal infighting—those who want to see it for themselves are welcome.

4. The company’s senior management is stuck in the past and stretched thin. Whether current or former employees write their genuine opinions on this platform, they only try to find ways to erase negative news instead of reforming their management practices. It is quite incompetent. They should learn about management from Carnegie.

6. It is commonplace for one employee to be used as two.

7. Some department managers really only know how to yell and make a scene.

In the end, if you think what I said is fair, please click “Agree.” If you are willing to add something or share your experience, please leave a comment—I would find it somewhat therapeutic.

I hope those who have seen this company for what it really is will share what has upset you about it.

Some managers in this company’s marketing department are completely unwanted elsewhere and can only eke out an existence at this company. Yet they live very well: they dump everything on their subordinates, collect a high salary, and spend all day doing nothing but talking nonsense. When it comes to anything in their professional field, they are not actually professional; only what the manager considers professional counts as professional. Subjective, subjective, and even more subjective. Because they are afraid their subordinates will see through their incompetence, doing the right thing is actually considered wrong here—because “I won’t give it to you, and you’re not allowed to take it.” From time to time, they act according to their mood and humiliate those below them to vent their resentment toward society. There really aren’t many managers who embody so much disgust in one person, yet they can somehow survive here. Young people, be careful: this company can now only recruit disposable workers, because capable people would never want to come here. At a human-resources company, talent avoids it like the plague. Ironic—profoundly ironic.

Pros

A place that completely disrespects professionalism. The bureaucracy treats the boss’s words as absolute truth. Even when the boss’s proposals are obviously terrible, the managers attending the meetings simply nod along and agree. They even have the nerve to say they want professional talent, when in reality they don’t need professionals at all—just people who know how to flatter others and talk big. The marketing team is also thoroughly unprofessional, the kind of amateurs who leave you completely speechless. They act as if the company is wealthy and powerful, but it is all just superficial posturing—extremely shallow. Everything focuses solely on numbers, without seeking to understand the meaning behind the marketing figures. Without understanding what lies behind them, the work will never improve, even after a lifetime.

It is the kind of place that makes people lose their motivation to work, to the point where you even question whether you are out of step with everyone else if you refuse to become a lapdog, and whether you cannot succeed if you do not flatter others. A company that wears down young people’s passionate desire to work hard and accomplish things—seriously, do not go astray by joining it.
