The overall reception was fairly polite, and there was water to drink. It was raining that day, and they asked whether I had gotten wet.

The position I interviewed for was Human Resources Consultant, and I went because I had received an invitation.

After submitting my information, I waited in a small cubicle for a while before the interviewer arrived. Apart from answering questions, the interviewer basically talked to themselves the entire time. They talked about the company's size and business model—things that can essentially be found by looking at the company's website. It felt like they had not looked at the interviewer's résumé or work expectations. When I asked about compensation and working hours, they brushed it off vaguely, merely boasting about the company's achievements (many headhunting companies' sources of resources), making grand promises (to become the largest headhunting company in Asia), and so on. I could not get a word in. Then they brought up the three-word mantra, "responsibility-based system." By that point, I was completely put off. Even though I was sitting properly, I was told, "You don't seem very lively," and that I could not work as a consultant that way.
