Anger, disappointment, and frustration.
If you are unhappy with workplace reality in Taiwan, it can feel impossible to change.
We know you care, but often do not know where to start.
In June 2016, our Chrome extension launched and reached over 100,000 downloads;
in February 2017, the qollie website launched and exceeded 1.5 million unique visits.
From day one, we focused on workplace transparency through worker experiences so job seekers could see what companies are really like. We want reviewing a workplace to feel as natural as reviewing a restaurant, lowering the barrier to trustworthy workplace information. We hope this can create a positive loop where better companies are recognized and attract better talent.
We are lucky to receive support and encouragement, but we also faced heavy pressure:
"Are you sure you want to offend business owners?"
"The environment in Taiwan is not ready for this."
There were stacks of legal notices every time we checked the mailbox,
and unknown calls that turned out to be police inquiries.
None of us had ever gone to court or a police station before.
We never wanted to be against companies, but we realized this was much harder than expected.
Yet the harder the challenge, the more meaningful it is to do.
Now we not only want to continue, but to make qollie better and more stable.
Change is not one person doing everything. It is everyone doing a little.
Whether your support is large or small, every contribution helps qollie stay stable, build better products, create more impact, and go farther.
Before the world changes us, let us work together to change the world.
With one coffee a month, we invite you to join this workplace revolution.
One cup of coffee each month
can keep this workplace movement going.
Any amount helps,
and keeps us operating.
