Deliberately cultivates a professional image

In fact, there is absolutely nothing professional about it.

At the end of last year, I received a call asking whether I could come in for an interview for a PR position. The script used during the initial interview was extremely polished, saying that my responses had exceeded expectations and that they hoped I could proceed to a second interview as soon as possible. However, the time and presentation topic for the second interview had already been decided a week in advance, and the day before the second interview they called to say they wanted to add another topic.

On the day of the second interview, the big boss was either answering the phone or going to the restroom for half of the presentation, showing no respect at all for the applicant. Afterward, they said they would notify me that afternoon, but then there was no word at all.

The next morning, I called to ask about it. They said the big boss had not yet made a decision, but at noon they called again to ask me to accompany them at a dinner banquet. I asked: I had not even received an offer, so in what capacity was I supposed to attend the banquet? The answer I received was actually, “You are attending as a 1111 employee”—the kind of response that leaves you completely bewildered.

I did not show up at the banquet. The big boss’s assistant called in a panic and said, “Come right away and you will be given priority for the position.” I clearly explained why I could not attend and then politely declined the invitation. The other party only replied, “No problem. Then we’ll proceed with the rest of the application according to the normal procedure.”

The next day, I received a rejection notice.

My advice: If you are looking for a job, you do not need to spend your time on this company. It has no professionalism or system whatsoever. Even without having received an offer letter, they still expect applicants to attend banquets and accompany them.
