Pros

The company has lots of snacks, and the office building is beautiful.

Cons

Engineers' desks offer very little privacy, making it difficult to concentrate. There are also no side cabinets (the reason given is the absurd excuse that there isn't enough space??), so bags can only be placed on the desk or chair. Even requests for a trash can were rejected, with everyone required to share one with others (is this a concentration camp?)

The on-call and support systems are very chaotic, and there is no overtime pay. Whether you receive compensatory leave, and how much, depends on whether you are a manager's favorite.

A senior HR employee speaks in an extremely sarcastic and biased manner and criticizes everything. Even taking a short break in the pantry (because the office is genuinely very noisy and offers no privacy) gets you mocked, while favored colleagues can slack off for as long as they want without any problem.

Three interviews in total

HR / engineer / manager

The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?

1st interview: Senior engineer

Mostly asked about things you had worked on, along with casual conversation about the tools used in your work.

2nd interview: Hiring manager

The manager explained the job responsibilities very carefully and also expected you to have researched what the job involved.

3rd interview: HR

They came across as very serious HR professionals. They explained the company's benefits and salary in one go. The benefits were above average.

Summary:

1. The company takes candidates for interview positions very seriously.

2. The employees there seemed to have stayed for a long time.

Cons

Company environment:

The office was indeed like what other comments described: like a workshop, with a very open and rather noisy space and limited privacy.

The office felt somewhat oppressive.

Interview impressions:

1. The IT processes and practices seemed more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on some relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).

2. Although HR was very serious, they came across as quite overbearing and difficult to communicate with.

Summary:

1. Considering future career development, because it is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.

(Don't say again that other industries won't care—in reality, they do care.)

2. Regarding salary and benefits: Articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but judged by today's standards and compared with the gambling-industry companies I have encountered, they are not particularly high.

2. Although the HR representative was very serious, they came across as quite forceful and difficult to communicate with.

Summary:

1. Considering future career development, because it is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.

(Don't say anymore that other industries won't care— in reality, they do care.)

2. Regarding the salary and benefits, articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but based on my evaluation today and my experience with the gambling industry, they are not particularly high.

Three interviews in total:

HR / Engineer / Manager

The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?

1st interview: Senior Engineer

Mostly asked about things you had done, with some casual conversation about the tools used in the work.

2nd interview: Hiring Manager

The manager explained the job responsibilities very seriously and also seemed to expect you to have researched what the job involved.

3rd interview: HR

The HR representative came across as very serious and explained the company benefits and salary all at once. The benefits were above average.

Summary:

1. The company takes candidates for the position very seriously.

2. The employees there seem to have stayed for a long time.

Cons

Work environment:

The office really is like what other comments have described—like a factory floor, with a very open space. It is relatively noisy and offers little privacy.

The office feels somewhat oppressive.

Interview impressions:

1. The IT processes and practices seem more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on some relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).

2. Although HR was very serious, they came across as quite domineering and difficult to communicate with.

Summary:

1. Considering future career development, because it is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.

(Please stop saying that other industries will not care about this—it is actually something they do care about.)

2. Regarding salary and benefits: articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but based on my experience with the gambling industry, they are not particularly high by today’s standards.

Pros

The pantry has lots of food, as well as drinks and coffee, so you don’t have to worry about starving.

Cons

HR turnover is very high—someone you meet today may be gone tomorrow. The more senior HR staff are very manipulative; when chatting, they keep fishing for private information, which is really annoying.

Pros

After telling HR that I had received an offer from another company, HR immediately sent me an assignment and scheduled an interview.

Cons

I interviewed for a front-end engineer position, but the assignment included C#, even though the job description did not mention that C# was required.

The job title says front-end engineer, but they actually want to hire a full-stack engineer and also expect a certain level of C# proficiency.

On-call duty is also required on a regular basis.

Pros

The pantry is very large, and the company's internal systems are fairly well established.

Cons

They show very little respect for individual employees' privacy.

The decision-making style is conservative, making it resemble a traditional industry within the software sector.

The seating arrangement is much like a chicken farm: every employee is a laying hen in a battery cage, only able to lay eggs.

The office is as noisy as a traditional market, which is very unprofessional.

Pros

The HR team was enthusiastic; perhaps at least some candidates had KPIs?

Cons

There were many interviewers from different departments, all engineers rather than managers. Some were scrolling on their phones, while others were chatting.

Candidates were shown absolutely no respect! When the self-introduction touched on technical matters, they did not even listen properly to the end—so why not just look at the CV? They also wasted time giving a test before the interview.

Regardless of whether one gets the job, and regardless of how strong an engineer’s technical skills are, it is clear that the company does not seem to pay much attention to the personal qualities of some of the engineers it hires!

Pros

There’s too much food in the pantry to finish.

Cons

The company appears open-minded, but is actually very conservative in its practices. The salary is quite generous, and the year-end bonus is also good, but the working hours are very inconvenient: 10:00–19:00. There’s no time left in the evening to do things for yourself, so pursuing further education or picking up your children after school is also very difficult.

Pros

There are quite a lot of women.

A good workplace for women.

Cons

This company feels like it is going downhill.

It feels like funding is becoming increasingly scarce.

They cannot even find someone to receive packages.

Isn't that something very basic at other companies?

And then the monthly birthday celebration changed from once a month to once every three months.

The computer equipment is not very good either.

They are willing to spend money hiring people,

but unwilling to spend money on equipment.

And in some departments, there is still no year-end bonus even after passing the probationary period.

How miserable.

I am currently a full-time employee at the company. There are quite a few talented people at the company, and there is room to make an impact. As long as you are willing, change can be accepted! Talented and motivated people are welcome to join us~

Cons

The company’s development methods and systems are relatively conservative, but I believe there are opportunities for improvement. Change takes time; it is impossible to achieve everything overnight!
