Three interviews in total
HR / Engineer / Manager
The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?
Interview 1: Senior Engineer
Basically asked about things you had worked on and chatted about the tools used in your work.
Interview 2: Hiring Manager
The manager explained the job responsibilities very seriously and also seemed to expect you to have researched what the job involved.
Interview 3: HR
The HR representative came across as very serious and explained the company benefits and salary all at once. The benefits were considered above average.
Summary:
1. The company takes candidates for interview positions very seriously.
2. The employees there seem to have stayed for a long time.
Company environment:
The office was indeed like what other comments described: like a factory floor, with a very open and relatively noisy space and limited privacy.
The office felt somewhat oppressive.
Interview experience:
1. The IT processes and practices seemed more similar to those used in mainland China, employing some relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).
2. Although HR was very serious, they came across as very forceful and difficult to communicate with.
Summary:
1. Considering future career development, because it is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.
(Don’t say again that other industries won’t care— the reality is that they do care.)
2. Regarding salary and benefits: Articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but by current standards, and compared with the gambling industry employers I have encountered, they are not particularly high.
