Three interviews in total
HR / engineer / manager
The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?
1st interview: Senior engineer
It was mainly about things you had worked on and casual conversation about the tools used in your work.
2nd interview: Hiring manager
The manager explained the job responsibilities very carefully and clearly expected you to have researched what the work involved.
3rd interview: HR
The HR representative came across as very serious and explained the company benefits and salary in full. The benefits were above average.
Summary:
1. The company takes candidates for the position very seriously.
2. The employees there seemed to have stayed for a long time.
Company environment:
The office was indeed, as other comments mentioned, like a workplace for production-line workers: a very open space that was relatively noisy, with little privacy.
The office felt somewhat oppressive.
Interview impressions:
1. The IT processes and practices seemed more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on some relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).
2. Although HR was very serious, they came across as quite forceful and difficult to communicate with.
Summary:
1. Considering future career development, because the company is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.
(Don’t say that other industries won’t care anymore—the reality is that they do care.)
2. Regarding salary and benefits: articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but by current standards, and compared with the gambling-industry companies I have encountered, they are not particularly high.
