Three interviews in total
HR / engineer / manager
The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?
Interview 1: Senior Engineer
Mostly asked about things you had worked on, with some casual conversation about the tools used in the job.
Interview 2: Hiring Manager
The manager explained the job responsibilities very seriously and seemed to expect you to have researched what the work involved.
Interview 3: HR
The HR representative came across as very serious and explained the company benefits and salary in detail. The benefits are above average.
Summary:
1. The company takes candidates for the position very seriously.
2. The employees there seem to have stayed for a long time.
Company environment:
The office is indeed like what other comments have described: like a factory floor, with a very open and somewhat noisy space and little privacy.
The office feels somewhat oppressive.
Interview experience:
1. The IT processes and practices seem more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on some relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).
2. Although HR was very serious, they came across as quite forceful and difficult to communicate with.
Summary:
1. Considering future career development, because it is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.
(Don’t say that other industries won’t care anymore—the reality is that they do care.)
2. Regarding salary and benefits: Articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but by today’s standards, and compared with the gambling industry companies I have encountered, they are not particularly high.
