Three interviews in total
HR / engineer / manager
The manager seems to be from Hong Kong?
Interview 1: Senior Engineer
Mostly asked about things you had done and chatted about the tools used in your work.
Interview 2: Hiring Manager
The manager explained the job responsibilities very seriously and also clearly expected you to have researched what the job involved.
Interview 3: HR
The HR representative came across as very serious and explained the company benefits and salary all at once. The benefits are considered above average.
Summary:
1. The company takes candidates for the position very seriously.
2. The employees there seem to have stayed for a long time.
Company environment:
The office really is like what other comments have described: like a factory-worker workspace, with a very open floor plan. It is rather noisy and offers little privacy.
The office feels somewhat oppressive.
Interview impressions:
1. The IT processes and practices seem more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on some relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).
2. Although HR is very serious, they come across as quite forceful and difficult to communicate with.
Summary:
1. Considering future career development, because the company is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.
(Don’t say again that other industries won’t care. In reality, they do care.)
2. Regarding salary and benefits: Articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but based on my experience with the gambling industry today, they are not particularly high.
