Three interviews in total
HR / engineer / manager
The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?
1st interview: Senior engineer
Mostly asked about things you had worked on, with some casual conversation about the tools used for the job.
2nd interview: Hiring manager
The manager explained the job responsibilities very thoroughly and clearly expected you to have researched what the job involved.
3rd interview: HR
The HR representative seemed very conscientious and explained the company benefits and salary in one session. The benefits are above average.
Summary:
1. The company takes candidates for interview positions very seriously.
2. The employees there seem to have stayed for a long time.
Company environment:
The office really is like what other reviews have described: like an operator’s workplace, with a very open and relatively noisy space and little privacy.
The office feels somewhat oppressive.
Interview impressions:
1. The IT processes and practices seem more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).
2. Although HR was very conscientious, they came across as very domineering and difficult to communicate with.
Summary:
1. In terms of future career prospects, because the company is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.
(Don’t say again that other industries won’t care about this—they really do.)
2. Regarding salary and benefits, articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but by today’s standards, and compared with the gambling companies I’ve encountered, they are not particularly high.
