Three interviews in total
HR / engineer / manager
The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?
Interview 1: Senior engineer
It was mainly about things you had worked on, along with casual conversation about the tools used in the job.
Interview 2: Hiring manager
The manager explained the job responsibilities very thoroughly and seemed to expect you to have researched what the job involved.
Interview 3: HR
The HR representative seemed very serious and explained the company benefits and compensation in one go. The benefits were above average.
Summary:
1. The company takes candidates for the position very seriously.
2. The employees there seem to have stayed for a long time.
Company environment:
The office really was like what other reviews described: like an assembly line, with a very open and somewhat noisy space and little privacy.
The office felt somewhat oppressive.
Interview experience:
1. The IT processes and practices seemed more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on relatively old-fashioned methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).
2. Although HR was very serious, they came across as quite overbearing and difficult to communicate with.
Summary:
1. Considering future career development, because it is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.
(Don’t say that other industries don’t care anymore—the reality is that they do care.)
2. Regarding compensation, articles from six or seven years ago said it was very good, but based on my experience with the gambling industry today, it is not considered high.
