HR / Engineer / Manager

The manager seemed to be from Hong Kong?

1st interview: Senior Engineer

Mostly asked about things you had done, with some casual conversation about the tools used in the work.

2nd interview: Hiring Manager

The manager explained the job responsibilities very seriously and also seemed to expect you to have researched what the job involved.

3rd interview: HR

The HR representative came across as very serious and explained the company benefits and salary all at once. The benefits were above average.

Summary:

1. The company takes candidates for the position very seriously.

2. The employees there seem to have stayed for a long time.

Work environment:

The office really is like what other comments have described—like a factory floor, with a very open space. It is relatively noisy and offers little privacy.

The office feels somewhat oppressive.

Interview impressions:

1. The IT processes and practices seem more similar to those used in mainland China, relying on some relatively outdated methods (probably methods from 10 years ago).

2. Although HR was very serious, they came across as quite domineering and difficult to communicate with.

Summary:

1. Considering future career development, because it is in the gambling industry and its IT practices are relatively traditional, it may be more difficult to transition to other industries.

(Please stop saying that other industries will not care about this—it is actually something they do care about.)

2. Regarding salary and benefits: articles from six or seven years ago said they were very good, but based on my experience with the gambling industry, they are not particularly high by today’s standards.
