Cons

The interview location was just a small cubicle with a door.

As if making the interviewee wait wasn’t enough, the head of a department in the merchandising division immediately started throwing their weight around upon arrival, asking questions that felt like they weren’t actually meant to hear your answers. Their own questions had no clear focus, and they kept failing to listen attentively, then accused others of not answering the question. They kept putting on an act and repeatedly questioning whether others were qualified to get the job.

If you have work experience, don’t waste your time coming here. It feels like they’re only looking for rookies they can order around however they please.

The key point is that I never proactively applied for this job. HR contacted me and invited me after reviewing my résumé, but after I went there, the manager made me feel as though I had to kneel down and beg her to give me the job.

Do they really think they’re the leader in e-commerce?

Pros

The company’s exterior is impressive, and celebrities are invited to the year-end banquet.

Cons

1. During the interview, not only may your salary be cut, but you may also be subjected to sarcastic remarks. The senior manager kept looking at their phone and checking stocks during the interview, acting very high and mighty for no apparent reason.

2. Design is not valued. You are constantly moved to places with bad feng shui, and things became even worse after a new department head took over. They accept every urgent request without question and have accumulated many astonishing quotes. Also, one team leader is very incompetent and only knows how to dump work on others; they are quite scheming, so be careful when dealing with them. The turnover rate is high.

Pros

Permanent employees can treat dispatched workers like garbage. Since the work is tiring and hot, anyone wanting to lose weight can come here. There is extremely strict control, and personal communication devices will be confiscated.

Cons

This company can confiscate phones at will. Even dispatched workers—who belong to an outsourcing contractor—can be told to hand over their phones for confiscation and management.

Is this you asking other companies to find outsourced work for you?

Cons

HR Lin✠瀅 (Lynn): Are you hoping for a stable job?

HR Lin✠瀅 (Lynn): Are you looking to build experience working on large-scale projects?

HR Lin✠瀅 (Lynn): I understand what you mean. We can’t directly guarantee the outcome just yet, but our systems here are very mature. Could you tell me a little more about the specifics of your situation?

New Hire: I heard a lot of people are stationed at client sites?

HR Lin✠瀅 (Lynn): Haha, it’s all normal arrangements. We’ll take comprehensive care of everyone; the work is very easy, XD.

徐✠龍: Welcome to S Company. You’ll find out soon enough—engineers are sent out one after another like dumplings dropped into boiling water.

李✠毓 (Stanley): The conditions at client sites? That’s not something we can control. When something goes wrong, the new hire takes the blame first, the sales team takes the fall next, kekeke.

New Hire: Are there any documents or handover materials?

李✠源 (James): They tell you to do something, but either there are no tools—or there are no tools; as for processes? No planning.

李✠源 (James): When a client asks a question, just send over a pile of AI-generated failure analyses, then write a bunch of polished reviews for senior employees. Everyone’s busy, you know.

New Hire: Then what happens if something really goes wrong?

徐✠龍: Find the new hire first.

李✠毓 (Stanley): Then find Administration.

李✠源 (James): And finally say, “We’re all growing together.”

New Hire: Does HR know about this?

HR Lin✠瀅 (Lynn): We don’t necessarily have a complete picture of what happens at other client sites, but we trust that the teams can cooperate with one another.

New Hire: Sounds like one hell of a workplace-from-hell competition…

李✠毓 (Stanley): You’ll get used to it soon enough. If someone calls you “Pikachu,” it’s not because you’re cute—it’s because you get shocked every day.

New Hire: I also heard someone say that a supervisor hit people with a plastic bottle?

徐✠龍: There are lots of workplace rumors. Judge for yourself whether they’re true, XD.

Everyone: Welcome to S Company. We hope you can last longer than the person before you, kekeke.

The HR director is attractive

Cons

The time for the online interview had already been confirmed, but the email notification from HR directly copied the previous candidate’s interview time without changing it at all before sending it to me. I thought I had traveled back in time. The holiday bonus was all paid in momo coins. When I asked whether the year-end bonus would be the same, she actually replied, “How could you ask that question?” I was instantly speechless. When I asked HR how overtime pay was calculated, she stammered and gave me an unclear answer. I really couldn’t tell whether she didn’t know or simply didn’t dare say. During the interview, the manager asked about certifications—even though they were clearly listed on my résumé. Was that implying I had made them up, or that I didn’t meet the qualifications? If I didn’t, why invite me to an interview? I asked the manager how scheduling and staffing would be handled given the current shortage of personnel, and he said, “We’ll take care of that,” which basically meant, “You don’t need to know.” I asked a higher-level manager how they planned to beat their competitors, and he said, “We only need to follow the company’s policies.” Don’t ask too much—you don’t know whether he genuinely didn’t know or was just brushing you off. In any case, it made me feel that the company was terrible.

They stood me up for the interview, showing extreme disrespect toward job seekers.

HR proactively contacted me to arrange a phone interview. I was very interested in both the company and the position, so I carefully prepared for the interview. However, even five minutes after the agreed-upon time, I had not received a call or any message. I tried contacting HR through messaging, but my messages were only marked as read, and the person completely disappeared. I am extremely disappointed with the company's hiring practices. It showed complete disregard for the time and effort of job seekers. A company that treats job seekers with such disrespect also raises questions about its corporate culture and work environment.

Pros

Stable, provided that you follow the right department manager; otherwise, you may end up in a mess.

Cons

A certain new project in 2024 had a bunch of senior veterans who claimed they had come to provide support. After going live and taking credit for their achievements, they received promotions and financial benefits, then hurriedly handed the project off to another department to clean up the mess. There are many people with this kind of mentality: they casually write something, launch it, hand it over, and dump the problem on others—fully maxing out their skill at passing the buck.

They even boast about it in conversation, saying how great the features and database tables they wrote themselves are. There was even a Code Review colleague... and so on. Many senior and highly experienced veterans are still stuck at the CRUD level in terms of understanding. There are obviously tons of bugs, no documentation, changing A breaks B, and the code is poorly written. They say the schedule was too tight, but even if the schedule was short, they completely lack basic programming logic, architecture, and craftsmanship. I cannot agree with these environments, people, practices, and values.

Some highly experienced engineers also play mind games: they smile and act like brothers in public, but treat you like air behind the scenes. All I can say is that those who climb the ladder are not necessarily technically strong, but they are definitely skilled at using tactics. They smile and talk about how many hours they worked overtime yesterday, claiming they just want to make a living. Quite a few people climb the ranks through hours worked and socializing. That said, there are still some technically strong experts who rise through the ranks, but they are a very small minority. If you dislike promotion-oriented workplace culture, think carefully before joining. Otherwise, make sure to find out who the right manager is and what the department does so that things go smoothly.

If you are a capable software engineer seeking to improve, please do not join backend-related work. The problems you solve and the people you encounter will only narrow your perspective.

Pros

Cons

During the interview, the supervisor asked whether I could accept working overtime, but said it wouldn’t be a regular occurrence. However, after I joined, I was working overtime every single day (overtime is the norm—seriously, stop lying), and the worst part is that overtime from 6 to 7 p.m. doesn’t count for overtime pay ^^ Leaving work on time would also result in workplace PUA from the supervisor.

When I told the supervisor I was resigning, they made sarcastic remarks: “You make money with your brain. Isn’t it better to just type here? Why go outside to do that kind of manual labor~?”

The head of the e-commerce department speaks extremely badly~ Their attitude depends entirely on their mood. Even when it’s clearly a business-related issue, they dump it on the sales assistant (this was the first time I’d heard that a sales representative failing to submit a report was the sales assistant’s problem). LOL

1. Four months’ year-end bonus, provided you can last a full year.

2. Other than the halo, there’s nothing else.

Cons

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT JOINING THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT!

1. The section chief and department head speak extremely rudely, habitually nitpick people’s words and berate those below them. It’s outright workplace PUA.

2. During the interview, they said overtime comes with overtime pay, and that of course you wouldn’t need to work overtime if you were capable of finishing your work. The reality is that overtime is mandatory, but an overtime-pay application may not necessarily be approved, and meetings are even scheduled after working hours.

3. Work processes are chaotic, and requirements are often communicated unclearly. If you ask because you don’t understand, you may still be met with a hostile attitude, and you’ll be mocked regardless of how well you do.

4. If you’re very junior, want an impressive résumé, and don’t mind having a life consisting only of work, you can consider it. But don’t go in expecting to learn things—you’ll fall behind the changes in the industry outside.

5. If you have a certain level of experience, by all means, don’t go there and squander your professional expertise.

Pros

The salary is higher than the industry average, but it is still only enough to get by. The company has an aura of prestige, but that does not mean it is a happy workplace.

Cons

Although the company has established many rules and regulations, every department evaluates people according to the supervisor’s personal likes and dislikes. There is supposedly a complaint hotline, but designated personnel handle all complaints. If you encounter unfair treatment such as workplace bullying by a supervisor, subordinates can only suffer in silence, because no company will discipline a supervisor for the sake of a junior employee—even when the supervisor has exceeded their authority.

Therefore, anyone who wants to join this company should understand that unless they are a relative of someone powerful or have strong connections, once a senior employee targets them, they will still have to endure endless torment from supervisors and others before eventually resigning. If you don’t believe it, feel free to submit your résumé and verify it for yourself.

Pros

The visuals are quite impressive and refined. I heard there is a three-month year-end bonus, provided you can make it through a year.

Cons

1. The equipment is outdated. An i5 processor absolutely lags when handling files over 300 MB. You cannot use Chrome because web software becomes extremely slow. There are only 3 image-library accounts for 10 employees, but once you log in, you have to submit the design within the same day.

2. The culture of verbal bullying by managers has been deeply entrenched for 10 years. To save themselves trouble, they say the same things to newcomers handling basic equipment after joining the company: “No one has the same problems as you,” “I’ve been here for 10 years and have never seen a designer like you,” “Why can’t you use the computer that everyone else can use?” “Did you ask any questions? (loudly)” “Why didn’t you ask questions?”

3. There are various small cliques among coworkers. They order lunch boxes and drinks privately among themselves. When they see a newcomer, they act as if they are invisible; when greeted proactively, they avoid eye contact.

4. Reporting problems will not get you a response. Coworkers often look impatient when you ask them questions.

5. There is no respect whatsoever overall. They will not tell you what needs to be adjusted, nor will they tell you what kind of designs the manager likes. You can only observe for yourself or try to win her favor. If your design skills are very strong, you can identify the design they want under a very rushed work pace (and a very noisy work environment), and you can keep demonstrating loyalty to the “senior manager” like a pug, then you can obtain the resources you should have. All resources are decided by the senior manager. It depends on the senior manager’s impression of you. If they have a bad impression of you, they will interfere endlessly, from the way you send emails to the way you handle matters (targeting you). They will also be unfriendly toward you personally. Even coworkers who have been there for more than seven years are occasionally scolded.

6. They only start making adjustments and acting friendly when someone is about to leave. The superior acts friendly only to avoid adding another negative review. Coworkers will never want to help you if it does not concern them. The superior manager’s act of forcing people to leave seems to be performed very smoothly and often: they first loudly yell at you not to tell outsiders that they bullied you, say that you now think everyone is targeting you, open your résumé and start criticizing your age and seniority, and berate you in various ways to force you to resign voluntarily.

7. During the project-file period, the contact person may request revisions after approval, and the superior may change the name whenever they want. Visual materials are also frequently changed in various ways, so it is impossible not to work overtime.

If you can be 100% sure that you will not encounter any of the worst situations above, then go in bravely. This is the ecosystem inside; the coworkers’ visuals are quite impressive and refined.

Pros

An e-commerce company that considers itself the industry leader; even outsourced operations have to be under its control.

The work content and salary inside do not comply with the Labor Standards Act.

Those who can work end up exhausted, while earning the same salary as those who take things slowly.

Cons

Momo Fengyuan Warehouse 4 (Yang Xikun)

The warehouse has been open for about three years. Six months after it opened, a deputy plant manager with a very poor reputation was transferred over from Warehouse 3 to take charge of Warehouse 4.

The longer-serving full-time employees are only used by this person. They do not dare to resist for the sake of their salary and positions, and are also told not to become too friendly with temporary workers or other delivery providers. Every full-time employee is like a soldier, obediently doing whatever this person says.

All day, this person sits in the air-conditioned break room staring at computer figures for temporary workers’ picking and packing speeds, completely unaware that conditions at the worksite vary. If the figures are low, workers receive an improvement notice or are mocked for picking too slowly.

On the surface, this person may seem to get along well with delivery providers or temporary full-time employees. But anyone this person dislikes, or who does not work according to this person’s methods, will be targeted through petty actions behind the scenes. Many highly capable people who complain that work assignments are unfair or complain too much may be fired using other pretexts. This person controls delivery providers’ working hours and forbids them from walking around areas that do not belong to us; if they do, this person immediately reports them to transportation management or our supervisor.

This person believes that people of a different rank have no right to speak to or discuss work matters with them, and insists that our supervisor handle communication. The people performing the work onsite are our delivery-provider personnel, not the delivery provider’s supervisor.

This person tells their own temporary workers that it is fine to go to a better workplace, as long as they give advance notice. However, some temporary workers who gave advance notice were subjected to petty retaliation in the days that followed. For example, this person might order full-time employees to assign the temporary workers more work and make the full-time employees play the bad cop. In reality, this person is the one who most enjoys causing trouble, so temporary workers later tend not to announce their resignations in advance.

The company claims that it will not force people to work overtime, but anyone who does not work overtime is subjected to sarcastic remarks, such as: “The middle-shift employees are willing to come in during the morning for overtime, so why are the morning-shift employees unwilling to work overtime at night?” They are also criticized for having fewer overtime hours than middle-shift employees, and for having too few overtime hours overall.

If an employee’s pay does not meet this person’s standards, this person decides that the employee lacks ability, and the pay may be lower than the basic hourly rate of 176.

Anyone considering joining should think carefully.

Several highly capable temporary workers have already left because they felt the workload was unfair. Those who are capable get a pile of work, while those who are less capable take their time and receive the same pay.

Naturally, when people change jobs within the company because they believe the compensation and work here are better, this person becomes jealous, tells the delivery provider’s supervisor that the delivery provider is luring their employees away, and even calls to complain that people who transferred over are not allowed to be used. This person is extremely calculating.

They park in positions they consider to be for managers—even though the parking spaces are not marked at all—and tell our delivery provider not to park in front of the loading dock because falling cargo might crush the vehicles. But their own managers can park there without danger? They say one thing and do another, truly acting as if they were in the military and managing the company like a military unit. The hierarchy is extremely rigid; anyone below this person’s rank is treated as if they do not matter.

They require us to follow their plant rules, but when it comes to the delivery provider’s rules, they negotiate with the delivery provider’s supervisor. If a new rule is unfavorable to them, they do not communicate it to full-time or temporary employees. Even when asked, full-time employees know absolutely nothing. They show complete disrespect for people.

Pros

Learn how to relieve stress when it comes.

Cons

Do interviewers have any special skills? Making sarcastic remarks and being aggressive, especially watch out for the chubby one wearing glasses.

Let's first analyze the ingredients of tea leaves. The main components of tea-leaf eggs are alkaloids, tea polyphenols, and amino acids, which can often help stabilize emotions, improve sleep quality, and provide other benefits.

There are so many cliques here, along with condescending supervisors. Even if they only have a few people under them, they can still be very combative. The main components include HR going back on everything they promised you, people who don't keep their word, and sales staff who only know how to deceive others. These can often leave you emotionally unhealthy and in a complete mess all day, seriously damaging your sleep quality, among other “benefits.”

Pros

Salary is paid on time

The work environment is clean

The space is fairly large

The year-end bonus is quite good

Cons

Even though the year-end bonus is quite good, because this is considered a back-office unit (the design department), the base salary is ridiculously low, and there are basically no opportunities for promotion or salary increases. Even if there is a raise, it is based on the senior manager’s personal impression of you. Although they always say it depends on individual job performance, there are so many people under the senior manager, and the senior manager is on a different floor from us, so evaluating performance is completely unfounded. Even if you solve a whole host of problems for your colleagues, teach them many technical skills, or other department heads and PMs think your work is excellent, none of this is included in the assessment of individual performance. Even more contradictory is that your work has to suit the senior manager’s tastes, be completed quickly, and also be liked by the managers on the PM side. If it does not suit our senior manager’s tastes, you will be told that you have not improved. In particular, the senior manager did not graduate from a related field and does not understand the aspects that need to be considered in design or the difficulties that may arise, so all you can do is flatter the senior manager as much as possible! Maybe if they are in a good mood, they will give you a tiny raise next year.

As for the work, the company computers cannot access the external internet directly; you have to use jump-host software to access it. This causes the technical level of the work to stagnate, and efficiency can never improve. Many convenient online tools are completely unavailable. Even after connecting to the external internet through the jump host, domains are still blocked. Yet the senior manager always expects you to work faster and wants you to improve your technical skills independently. Without being able to directly use tools that could improve efficiency, everything is merely theoretical. The pace and schedule are also extremely, extremely tight, fast, stressful, and tense. After work, you have no energy left for self-directed learning and improvement, and you may even have to be on call to handle bugs during your days off. Because you are required to rush things out beforehand, there is simply no time afterward to debug. Every day at work feels like being a walking corpse in an extremely high-pressure environment, constantly being pushed down from all sides until you doubt yourself and question your life. You may even have to hypnotize yourself into believing that this is about improving and challenging yourself in order to keep going.

Finally, I sincerely advise the senior colleagues who are still at your company to escape your “comfort zone” as soon as possible. After leaving, I discovered that salaries outside are much better than here, technical skills can advance much more, and one’s perspective becomes far broader. With your experience, you can definitely find better jobs. Do not become disconnected from the technology outside, or when you finally want to move on, you may discover that you have fallen far behind the times and regret that you do not know how to use many tools.

Finally, here is some advice for newcomers considering joining your company. It is perfectly fine to join and gain experience: you can develop your ability to withstand pressure, your efficiency, and your basic software skills. The section chiefs and colleagues are all very nice and can definitely provide you with a great deal of help, so do not be afraid to ask questions. You need to be able to quickly memorize certain rules, and you will soon adapt to the pace and environment here. However, I recommend staying for about one or two years before leaving. You can definitely learn a great deal here, whether in terms of personal technical skills, work skills, or interpersonal conduct. This is definitely a good stepping stone.

Pros

Unused travel allowances are automatically converted into bonus points.

At least it’s a large company, so it’s unlikely to go under; after all, there is still some protection when purchasing products.

Overtime is not difficult.

Stable enough to work at until retirement.

Cons

Technically, they only pursue stability, since the company still needs to make money. When major problems arise, that’s when they ask you to figure something out.

Some senior employees are unfriendly toward subordinates or colleagues from other departments.

Some managers play video games and smoke during work hours instead of being at their desks. Their subordinates handle many matters for them, and when problems arise, people go directly to their subordinates because going to the manager will only result in the matter being pushed back down to them anyway.

The manager and subordinates in the neighboring department even play video games during overtime. They make plenty of money, but it is really annoying when we are working overtime and they are making noise beside us. However, their manager leads by example, so what can you say?

There are opportunities to implement new technologies only in departments focused on innovation. Older, more important departments can only accept projects developed by others and continue developing and maintaining them. The architecture you receive may vary depending on the person, I suppose.

When senior executives ask foolish questions, they must be handled urgently and immediately, throwing everyone into chaos.

Technological advancement is extremely slow, usually taking years. It is often blocked by the company’s information security team and senior employees, who commonly say that you need to provide practical reports. However, they will not give you the environment or time to conduct research, so you can only use your own time and computer. Normally, you can only work on requirements, yet you are still expected to propose ideas and feasibility assessments; in the end, your proposal may simply be silently shelved.

The company clearly has the resources available, but they are blocked at every level. It is a shame, because the most profitable things could come from continuously increasing the level of technological sophistication, yet the company only pursues stability or advances technology very slowly.

Although it is Taiwan’s leading company, don’t even think of comparing it with Alibaba—the technology is leagues behind.

The promotion system is opaque. Technical ability is not the key factor; usually, you have to be liked by others to have a chance at promotion. When someone else is promoted, someone has to receive a lower rating, which means a lower year-end bonus. There are aspects of this that are rather unreasonable.

The User manager is really difficult to deal with. His moods fluctuate greatly, and his subordinates are often scolded as well. You can’t help feeling sorry for those colleagues.

The disadvantages of this company outweigh the advantages. After staying for a long time, having connections and status makes work easier. You just have to learn to deflect problems skillfully and shift responsibility elsewhere, and matters will resolve themselves because they are no longer on you. After all, it is difficult to be laid off; as long as you work steadily and take no responsibility, every day feels like Sunday.

Pros

The salary and benefits are acceptable— not the best, but better than some.

Cons

Most people at headquarters always seem to look down on the customer service department. They lack empathy and don't consider that customer service is the one cleaning up the mess and taking the bullets on the front line... It's no wonder, after all, since customer service earns less in salary and year-end bonuses than headquarters employees. No wonder we're not respected.

Pros

I heard the year-end bonus is quite good

But first, you have to last until Chinese New Year

Cons

I left the company a long time ago

But I suddenly remembered all those events

And realized that there are very few reviews of momo’s workplace

So I decided to come here to warn those who are just starting out

I don’t know about other departments

But if you want to practice your EQ, think your liver is too fresh, and are passionate about palace intrigue,

feel free to apply to the 3C Accessories Department (peripherals division)

When you first join, your supervisor is amiable

They call you aside from time to time to ask how you’re doing and what you’ve learned

Then they teach you some lengthy internal company procedures

But in fact, they have already been asking people behind your back to comment on you—to an absurd extent

Cliques and small groups are a serious problem

After you’ve been there for a while, you can tell who has a bad relationship with whom

Which subordinates the supervisor favors and which ones they dislike

And they really love calling people in for meetings, leaving you terrified

Because most of the company’s internal systems are highly manual,

you periodically have to compete with others to open files

When you’re assigned a task,

you also have to see whether a senior colleague is willing to teach you properly

or even knows how to teach you

because they may not understand it clearly themselves

But in any case, if the work isn’t done well, the supervisor will still blame you

During the short few months I was there,

there were all kinds of frustrations among those who joined at the same time

The final breaking point was when the supervisor called me in, criticized me for lacking enthusiasm, and gave me an attitude

That alone wouldn’t have been a big deal—when they turned around and saw me leaving, they became amiable again

I don’t know about other departments

But the 3C Accessories Department is like a pool of black water

You never know how much influence the people secretly reporting on you,

or the supervisor’s preferences, will have

Whether it was me, who was there for a very short time,

or the colleagues who stayed much longer (and also transferred departments),

we all felt the same way

So if your EQ is extremely high,

you can take a lot of strain, feel utterly exhausted but still look energetic at any moment,

and can survive in a harem-like workplace,

you can give it a try

None of the other full-time employees do this.

Cons

After finishing picking the goods upstairs on the second floor, they simply hadn't placed them in the freight elevator. Was there really a need to put it that way?

Besides, it happened during the gathering. People should respect one another—does that mean temporary staff should just tolerate it when a full-time employee's tone is inappropriate?

All the credit goes to the staffing agency that helped me.

Cons

If there were a rating below one star, I would absolutely give a negative rating.

You should really think twice about taking a dispatch job. The full-time employees at the Freeway Road warehouse had terrible attitudes and were extremely unfriendly toward newcomers. This was the first time a dispatch job made me so angry that I wanted to file a complaint. When I resigned, they humiliated me by saying I was impolite. Who are the impolite ones here—are you full-time employees so superior? The dispatch workers were all willing to teach people patiently and politely.

From the very beginning, they were impatient when training newcomers. (One full-time employee even proudly said that he had argued with the freight company—so what, is that something to be proud of?) Newcomers were not allowed to speak. When a newcomer tried to learn on their own, they were scolded. Their tone made it seem that, as full-time employees, they could simply raise their voices; their contempt for others was obvious. I have been able to stay at other places for more than three months, but great job, momo! I wanted to slip away after only half a day. The work itself was very simple, but the full-time employees were unfriendly to newcomers and spoke by yelling at them. They even lectured me about being impolite when I filled out my resignation form. As I was leaving, I thanked them for their help, but that full-time employee rudely slammed the door and walked away. It was utterly absurd. I still want to complain about the workplace—I'm furious! (I am not someone who writes this kind of work experience review; I was just too angry to let it go.)

Pros

Video interviews were conducted during the pandemic.

HR first explains the job responsibilities and the company’s various benefits. After the explanation, the department manager joins the interview. The interview includes:

Self-introduction, questions about the portfolio, and responses to situational questions.

Cons

The video interview meeting notification was provided only 10 minutes before the interview, which was a bit rushed.

If there happened to be a problem with the equipment, you’d be screwed.

Pros

The bonus points are pretty good.

Cons

The job is extremely unhappy, and the team manager also makes things up out of thin air. Whether it’s the team leader above us or the manager above that, they all love spreading nonsense. Clearly, something was never said, yet somehow it becomes something you supposedly said. The team leader is far too realistic. Although this is a performance-based department, and yes, we do need results! If you don’t have results, you have to sit at the farthest end during lunch and meals, because she won’t talk to you either. The good customer lists are always given to a certain person, so of course her performance is always good. We can only rely on luck to pick up what they don’t want. And speaking of this, there’s one thing that still really makes me furious: I called a customer in the morning, and the customer asked me to call again in the evening because he was sleeping. But when I called at 6 p.m., the customer had already been closed by someone else—and that person was her most, most, most favored employee. It was also a NT$9,900 ostrich essence product, and her favorite employee was even allowed to tell the customer directly, “I can give you a NT$200 discount!” One customer bought two items. As usual, I said I would ask the team leader and pressed the mute button… Later, I forgot to tell her, and damn, I was immediately scolded mercilessly. “There will not be a next time.” I resigned! And I still got criticized for telling everyone everything. Seriously, what the hell.

Pros

None; the salary and benefits are getting worse and worse.

Cons

1. In general, cliques among senior employees are a serious problem, with strong exclusivity. No matter how friendly and approachable a newcomer is, they will still be isolated unless they are lucky enough to join one of the few good departments.

2. The company as a whole is simply consumed by internal friction. Even when someone makes a mistake at work, the person involved is not informed; people only speak badly about them behind their back.

3. Training is merely a formality. Whether you learn anything at work depends entirely on whether senior employees are willing to teach you. In cases where exclusion is severe, you cannot obtain information or resources and may even receive no assistance at all with your work.

4. After only two months on the job, you are expected to produce results for your assigned business. If you cannot, they criticize you for progressing too slowly and ask you to reflect on your performance.

5. The company only looks good on the outside; there are practically no benefits inside. Bonuses and year-end bonuses depend entirely on your supervisor’s evaluation, and your supervisor’s personal preference toward you affects everything.

6. It calls itself a technology company, but it is essentially a traditional industry company. Much of the work has to be handled manually, and the many backend systems often require cross-referencing and comparison before you can work, which wastes a lot of time.

7. If you find a good job, you can leave, because the salary and benefits are not worth staying and enduring the silent treatment.

Pros

All my colleagues are very nice. I was lucky enough to join a department with low turnover, and overtime is not required. This is the first time I’ve encountered coworkers who keep telling me, “Take your time, there’s no need to rush,” and who help whenever I have questions.

In my previous jobs, I was expected to get up to speed quickly, but this department is not like that.

I’ve currently been working here for a little over half a month and have already gotten the hang of part of the job. I still work regular hours and leave on time (momo offers the benefit of flexible start and end times within a 30-minute range).

The supervisor is very nice. momo has a group-buying event every Friday, and off-season products are very affordable and good quality.

There is a subsidy for employee trips. This year, employees who have worked for nine months can apply for NT$6,000. After passing the three-month probationary period, there is a Dragon Boat Festival bonus of a little over NT$3,000; employees who have worked for one month also receive a little over NT$1,000.

I heard that this year’s year-end bonus is 3.7 months’ salary.

My department has flexible hours. If I want to have lunch, I just let them know and then go out for an hour. There is no requirement to eat lunch at exactly 12:00. I often wait until I’m hungry before eating, which is usually around two or three in the afternoon.

Cons

The company computers cannot connect to the external network, but we can use our phones.

It’s a large company, so many things have to go through formal procedures. Since we don’t want to create extra trouble, we generally prepare our own office software and tools.

At work, we sometimes encounter difficult-to-deal-with producers. Some producers are very high-and-mighty and have bad tempers, so you need to be able to put up with them.

Pros

The salary is paid on time.

Cons

It may be Taiwan’s leading e-commerce company by revenue,

but it is difficult for it to become a first-rate company like Google.

The main issue is that the company culture is still stuck in

that kind of authoritarian management, bureaucratic formalism, and palace intrigue.

The salary is also not as good as you might imagine.

With a regular schedule and no overtime, the actual monthly take-home pay is under NT$30,000.

Whether you work overtime is also decided by your superiors.

You only have the choice to cooperate; otherwise, you end up on the blacklist.

There is also no clear path for promotion.

The chances of currying favor or using sexual seduction may even be somewhat higher.

Superiors always require employees to submit written reports that are specific and data-driven,

but most of the time they are just talking nonsense, and policies change from day to day.

If you want 10% more salary but 50% more bullshit and hassle, then come to MOMO.

The HR staff had a very good attitude.

Cons

The company with the worst attitude I have ever encountered in an interview!

1. When HR asked the department head to join the interview, the department head actually became angry and furious after I answered the interview questions, immediately retorting: “Have you seen how other home appliance companies do things?” I was completely dumbfounded. Weren’t you asking for my opinion? What exactly are you angry about? Are you serious?

If you don’t want to conduct interviews, then don’t invite people in the first place. How could things be this terrible?!

Their emotional control was extremely poor, and their attitude was also terrible.

2. When HR went to ask the department head to join the interview, I could hear very cheerful chatting outside while I was left waiting for a long time. They showed absolutely no respect for the interviewee.

Seriously, don’t waste your time!

Cons

Closed-minded culture, with a severe seniority system

They verbally abuse people indiscriminately and speak harshly. They spend all day looking for opportunities to berate you.

Claiming the title of wanting to become the e-commerce leader

Cons

It is truly unbelievably toxic inside. The managers do nothing but slack off and observe people. They say they won’t distinguish between regular employees and dispatched workers, but they are the ones who make the clearest distinction. They treat dispatched workers as if they were thieves, sow discord, engage in workplace bullying, and mock employees privately. For people they like, nothing they do matters; for people they dislike, even the smallest issue gets blown out of proportion. No matter how hard you work, they always nitpick. I advise anyone considering working here: if you have a better job opportunity, take it…

Come in for a while, suffer in darkness for life. P.S. I’m the person who couldn’t take it anymore and was forced to leave.

Overtime is paid, and you get everything you're entitled to.

Cons

Please stop wasting people's time.

You proactively sent an interview invitation, but in the end you still wanted to send a rejection without saying anything.

First interview:

Overall, it was okay, except when you asked questions about the company,

they would give perfunctory answers, always saying, "It depends on the situation."

I received notice of a second interview immediately that day.

Second interview:

I waited about half an hour for the head of the luxury fashion department.

After half an hour, I heard someone outside the door say, "I forgot."

After entering, they simply asked me to introduce myself while using their phone, then asked whether I had any questions.

After I asked one, they would ask me, "Why did you want to ask that question?"

Then it ended.

Human resources told me there would be a result in a week.

After waiting more than a week, I proactively emailed to ask and immediately received a rejection letter.

Overall, it was unbelievably ridiculous.

During the interview for the D4000 Website Development Engineer (Java) position, the department head smiled and was willing to listen to your ideas.

Cons

Before the interview, the junior supervisors made fun of your qualifications outside the meeting room, which felt terrible. They also appeared to be only around 28 or 29 years old.

Then the office was completely silent. Even when lunchtime arrived, there was no sign of employees chatting or interacting.

A non-major master's degree holder with professional training: a salary of 35K for 14 months.

Advice from someone who has been through it: the interviewer is usually your future supervisor. If you have a bad feeling, I advise you not to join.

This place is also pretty awful... The interviewer even looks at whether your zodiac sign is compatible with theirs to decide whether you’re suitable for the job, and asks how late you’re willing to work overtime, which makes it feel like they want you to work yourself to death. The work environment is fairly good; other than that, I don’t know what advantages there are.

Pros

I worked in MOMO’s web design department for four years. I started as a newly discharged assistant, and after being trained by the design supervisor at the time (who has since left the company), I was promoted to designer two years later.

All I want to say is that working under that design supervisor allowed me to learn a lot of visual design techniques and grow considerably.

However, after that design supervisor left, a director from operations took over. I have no comment on this director taking over as the design supervisor.

While working under this operations director after they took over as design supervisor, I found that because I could almost always complete the same workload within regular working hours and never needed to submit overtime forms (I always arrived and left during normal hours), I was often required to cover additional last-minute projects. Therefore, I requested a salary increase at the end of one year, but it was not granted.

So I resigned on my own. I was fortunate enough to become a design supervisor elsewhere and increased my salary by a five-figure amount.

What I want to say is that in the high-pressure environment of MOMO’s web department, people who are motivated can indeed learn a lot. I did not come from a design background, but I was trained to become a designer under the design supervisor at the time. Later, through a combination of circumstances and good luck, I became a design supervisor elsewhere. I believe my experience at MOMO helped considerably throughout that process.

For those considering submitting a résumé to MOMO’s web department, here is a small piece of advice: ask yourself what you want! Are you looking for a comfortable, low-pressure job until retirement? Or do you want to hone your reaction speed in a high-pressure environment? Or have you learned nothing, or have you already taken on too many additional responsibilities while your supervisor acts as though they have not noticed? Be clear about when you should resign and where your cutoff point is. Your feet are your own; you can leave whenever you want. The question is, what do you want!? Do you want to complain constantly? Or do you want to learn the skills of someone you dislike and then surpass them? Be clear about what you want.

Also, many people have mentioned that the interview attitude was poor. Based on my own experience, besides the design section manager who has since left, one of the people who interviewed me was Mr. Hong, who has since been promoted to a senior manager in the web department. My impression of him during the interview was very good. He was very polite and did not play with his phone. This is just my personal experience.

Pros

The company has an attractive exterior and is very good at PR spin and boosting its stock price.

Cons

1. Turnover is extremely high throughout the organization, especially in the Marketing and Fashion & Luxury divisions. Management is seriously problematic—both incompetent and emotional.

2. Department heads are very good at taking employees’ proposals and submitting them as their own. They also frequently fabricate performance results: their own people’s work is spun as excellent no matter how poor it is, while non-favorites’ work is portrayed as that of redundant employees no matter how good it is. People with moral integrity and a conscience will find this environment extremely painful, so think very carefully before joining.

3. Division- and department-level managers are two-faced and malicious beneath their smiling exteriors. They enjoy closing the door and privately mocking and cursing competitors, suppliers, and former employees. Be psychologically prepared to become this kind of person if you join.

4. The company violates the Labor Standards Act 100% of the time. Employees are ordered to work overtime without being allowed to report it, and are not allowed to clock out when leaving. Every week, employees must report to HR in writing that they were handling personal matters—even though the department head is clearly exploiting them for unpaid overtime!

5. Reporting overtime leads to criticism of your workflow; not reporting overtime leads to criticism of your initiative. No matter what you do, you will be criticized, often through extremely arrogant and emotionally abusive rants.

6. It is a political, bureaucratic system. Senior and incumbent employees are highly skilled at making things up out of thin air, embellishing stories, and framing others. They spread damaging stories externally about people whose positions differ from theirs, and have already driven away many serious and capable employees.

7. It does not matter if you know how to do nothing while working here—as long as you know how to cling to powerful people. Do not expect to learn or grow; the only things you will learn are manual, labor-intensive tasks. It is suitable for people willing to sell their own ability to think and exercise judgment, becoming lapdogs in exchange for a salary.

Cons

The interviewer had not looked at my résumé or portfolio at all. As mentioned in several previous reviews, they immediately asked whether I had applied on my own or had been invited to interview by HR... There is clearly a significant gap in the internal interview process. When they felt that my qualifications did not match, they simply did not explain the job responsibilities, which was somewhat disrespectful to the interviewee.

Pros

Above-average salary; everything is good except the Internet Department.

Cons

1. Overtime can only be reported within the hours permitted by the Labor Standards Act: 1–3 hours per day and 46 hours per month. For people who work seriously, the actual working hours far exceed these limits. You cannot apply for the additional hours and will still be criticized for them! Only in the Internet Department do you work yourself to death through overtime and still get criticized relentlessly; all other departments are very good.

2. Labor-intensive. Many tasks that could be automated are still done manually. It is basically a traditional industry company, not a technology company.

3. The department ministers and directors are extremely emotional and two-faced, constantly changing their orders. It is not unusual for them to change things more than three times a day. They are incompetent yet look down on others! They only became successful by relying on the conglomerate’s wealth, but act self-righteous, arrogant, domineering, and hide behind the conglomerate’s power.

4. The ministers lack integrity. When they ask subordinates to submit reports, they are actually trying to steal their knowledge, claim it as their own ideas, and report it upward. They falsify performance reports, refuse to admit their lack of expertise, manipulate authority, deceive superiors, and get promoted. Once they have stolen your know-how, they marginalize you. Join this department and expect to be treated as a disposable laborer.

5. Bureaucratic politics and a culture driven by public opinion. Beware: there are many people who appear kind but are malicious, are honey-tongued and treacherous, or love spreading rumors. There are even more rumor-mongers who take sides for survival without verifying facts or exercising judgment.

6. High turnover. After staying for one or two years, senior old-timers form their own small groups, monopolize resources, and consolidate their positions so that you cannot get ahead.

7. Information is not transparent. Cross-department application procedures are cumbersome and time-consuming; every day you write so many application forms that your hand becomes numb.

8. You can only use the internal network at work. It is extremely closed off and makes everything difficult.

9. Out-of-nowhere assignments from supervisors happen all the time. Everything has to be submitted immediately, on the same day, and you must also write a self-criticism report for working overtime.

10. In review reports and resignation forms, anything unfavorable to the ministers is rejected or blocked, completely suppressing the thoughts of those below them.

11. The ministers give all intelligence and resources to their own people, suppress everyone else, and promote only their own followers. In reality, those followers privately curse them and court people below them as well—there is far too much infighting and exploitation within the group.

Flexible and autonomous work

Cons

1. Department managers are almost completely incompetent. They lack knowledge but love throwing their weight around; deceiving inexperienced newcomers may work for them. Their presentation skills and content are not even at a college-student level. They are narrow-minded and will attack competitors and former colleagues during meetings.

2. The company’s systems are difficult to use, and much critical data cannot be analyzed or cross-referenced.

3. Senior employees form small cliques, isolate newcomers, and are extremely exclusionary.

4. Department-level managers speak arrogantly and may humiliate you during interviews with personal attacks.

5. All internal employee benefits and performance-based incentive trips are handled opaquely and look extremely improper.

6. The bonus system is undisclosed and nontransparent. It can be changed at will without notifying employees, and employees are also prohibited from photographing and retaining records of it.

7. Product selection lacks logic. The boss gives resources to whoever they favor. If you are a star employee, products can be proposed at the original price and approved casually; if you are not, they will threaten to withdraw your resources until they force you out.

8. There is no one to learn from. Anyone seeking improvement and growth should think twice; the longer you stay, the more foolish you become.

9. Only three types of people can thrive in the entire company: senior employees; people with powerful backers and connections; and people willing to curry favor with the first two groups.

Pros

The company is impressive, and the receptionist was very friendly.

Cons

I applied for the EC operations position, and it was truly exactly as described earlier: the manager was very full of themself, had an arrogant attitude, and showed no respect for the interviewee.

Of all the interviews I have had, this was by far the shortest (within 15 minutes) and the one with the worst attitude.

The interview was scheduled for around 10:00. I checked in at reception at 9:40, but even after 10:00, the receptionist had to call HR twice to urge them to come and escort me in. Then I was taken to a meeting room, where another manager conducted the interview and immediately accused me of being late. I was completely stunned.

The manager spoke sarcastically, criticized my previous work experience and salary, and had a condescending attitude. Just as described earlier, after fewer than 10 sentences, I already knew I would not want to join this company.

In the end, the manager criticized my abilities as not suitable for the position and asked whether I had just randomly submitted my résumé. I was completely stunned—the HR department had sent me the interview invitation in the first place. It was a complete waste of time. No wonder the company was outperformed by another competitor in the same industry. They rely on their financial strength and act like a feudal lord. I recommend not wasting your time going there.

Pros

1. Overtime in the Design Department comes very naturally. Everyone willingly and conscientiously works as if their lives depended on it until the system forcibly shuts down, so there is not the slightest bit of boredom or negativity.

2. The department manager is generous and willing to let newcomers learn. Even people without experience can apply for the Web Design Assistant position.

3. The department periodically offers courses in web design or video editing. It is a good opportunity to improve your skills.

4. Recently, during the company's takeoff period, the year-end bonus has been impressive.

Conclusion: Therefore, friends who enjoy working overtime to earn overtime pay and are willing to learn may want to consider it.

Cons

1. The Operations Department manager disparages the department as less profitable than the Sales Department and does not dare negotiate with the Sales Department manager. As a result, the sales staff can propose whatever work they want, without any way to limit them.

2. The workload is extremely large. Combined with the one-fixed-day-off-and-one-flexible-day-off policy and the system's mandatory shutdown at 10 p.m. due to working-hour restrictions, designers often have to come in on weekends to finish work that cannot be handled during regular hours.

3. Salaries are not transparent, but based on personal assessment, the pay for design specialists is on the low side.

* The Operations Department manager has a flippant and arrogant attitude toward specialists. This workplace is suitable for people with high stress tolerance and maturity.

Pros

1. Coffee capsules or tea bags are provided each month

2. Colleagues within the same department are generally easy to get along with, but people from other departments are quite cold

3. There are vending machines on every floor, and prices are probably 1 or 2 dollars cheaper than those on the market

4. The reception staff are very friendly

5. Overtime pay can be claimed, there is a meal allowance for working overtime, and you can also choose compensatory leave. Everything complies with the Labor Standards Act

Cons

※The head of the design department does not have a professional background, so design work is often exploited, and the quality of the designs is also extremely inconsistent

※IT is relatively easygoing. Except during major events, there is almost no overtime. The supervisor is also acceptable, but whether you receive the supervisor’s favor depends heavily on your educational background

※If you want to join the EC e-commerce division, choose your department carefully. Turnover is basically very high across all departments. Many senior employees have left, and there are many emotional, directionless, incompetent, yet very good at flattering, people in upper management. “Upper management” here refers to section-level managers and above

1. Capable people are constantly exploited and given more work. Even when they report upward that they have too much work, nothing improves. Colleagues leave because of this, while upper management’s approach to work allocation is merely to rob Peter to pay Paul, continuing to pile work onto other colleagues and causing everyone to leave one after another—a vicious cycle

2. They dump the responsibility for finding a replacement on the person who is resigning, saying they can leave only after someone is hired. Then they take an extremely long time to hire someone, and deliberately delay the resignation date before agreeing to let the person go. They also do not appear very proactive about interviewing candidates

3. You have to put up with all kinds of emotional behavior from supervisors

4. Upper management will not listen to suggestions, then later blame you for why the results are poor. You actually raised the issues from the beginning, but they did not listen and still blame you

5. Where there are many people, there are bound to be idiots; there are also many people who make unreasonable demands

6. Supervisors have very poor time management. Even on weekends and after work, they often assign tasks via LINE. The company has strict information-security controls, so there are many things you cannot deal with immediately and can only handle the next day at the office, but they still insist on messaging you on LINE in the middle of the night

7. Even when there is clearly a designated substitute during leave, supervisors do not contact the substitute. Or, if the substitute enters incorrect figures in a report, they still insist on messaging you on LINE to lecture you

8. You are forced to shut down at 10 p.m., and staying past 10 p.m. can result in disciplinary action. Why not consider what the actual problem is? Overtime happens because work is seriously unevenly distributed, but reporting it upward only gets you told that there is a problem with your process, and you are sent back to reflect and write a report

8. Assistants who have been there for a long time may become insolent, have a terrible attitude, and do their work halfheartedly. Reporting this upward only gets you told that specialists are responsible for supervising assistants. If that is the case, why not have the specialist do the work themselves? It is a waste of time

9. Upper management constantly changes things while carrying out tasks, with no principles at all. Usually, a senior manager suddenly dislikes something and orders changes, leading to a great deal of wasted effort and rework as a matter of routine

10. Upper management says that rules and principles need to be established, but the people who break those rules and principles are also upper management

11. You often have to produce piles of meaningless reports. The work within your scope is already impossible to finish, yet they frequently require additional reports that create inexplicable extra workloads

12. The company prides itself on having certified information security, but in practice this makes work inconvenient. You cannot directly work online, let alone use the cloud. Cloud URLs provided by partner companies are also unusable. If a file exceeds the size limit for email attachments, you have to burn it to a CD just to send it out. This is the first internet technology company I have seen that is this closed off

13. The elevators are extremely slow; waiting more than five minutes during commuting hours is perfectly normal

14. Senior management will even mock you when you resign. Ideally, you should move to a different industry after leaving; if you go to another e-commerce company, they will mock you too. They look down on other e-commerce companies, thinking they are the industry leader

15. There are no standards for promotions or raises; it is entirely based on whether the senior manager likes you

16. Simply doing the work within your responsibilities without taking credit is not acceptable either. You may be told, “You seem just average and not very hardworking; I don’t see any special performance.”

17. The customer service team’s quality is extremely poor and often sends you bizarre customer complaints to handle

18. Senior managers say they hope everyone will not work overtime, but if you do not work overtime, they will say that you never need to work overtime and therefore do not seem very busy

In short, you really need to have excellent stress tolerance. In addition to handling the tasks within your responsibilities, you also have to deal with people—especially finding ways to please senior managers

I applied for position A, and during the interview I first waited nearly half an hour for the manager. Then the manager arrived (with a very cold attitude) and said that position A was already fully staffed, with only position B remaining, asking whether I would consider it instead. The interview lasted less than five minutes! They then said HR would make a note and follow up with me about my interest, but as you can imagine, nothing came of it.

Basically, if there are no openings, please don't invite people to interviews. It also wastes their time!

Pros

Nice colleagues

Lively atmosphere

A relaxed work culture

Cons

The company has systems, but the senior management is cold and heartless.

There are many layers and ranks of supervisors within the company’s organization,

but their capabilities vary widely.

If you happen to work under a good supervisor, things are fine.

If you happen to work under an irresponsible and incapable supervisor,

you are treated merely like a robot.

There is no transparent or publicly available process or criteria for promotions.

It is purely up to which employees the supervisor favors.

If you are interested in e-commerce, you can join.

After all, the internal operations of every e-commerce company are largely similar:

the same rapid pace of change and the same disorder.

Convenient to find food near Neihu.

Cons

Being a PM (product management) at this company sounds nice, but the actual work is basically that of a sales assistant. There is hardly anything to learn, and no work experience is really needed. You just act like a robot doing meaningless tasks such as bundling promotions and setting up campaigns, while also being chased around by the sales team! Unless you have just graduated and have lofty ambitions of entering a large company to add a big-name employer to your résumé, the pay is not much, the workload is extremely heavy, and the work itself is meaningless. It is very painful.

By someone who joined half a year ago and couldn’t stand working there for more than three months.

Pros

You can more or less freely come and go from the office building, sneak off for a smoke or to buy drinks and chat, and the relationship with managers and colleagues is also fairly good.

Cons

Engineers are basically just here to be worn down by the business units.

Technically speaking, the systems and program architecture used are quite old, and the documentation has not been updated for several years,

so you have to put in a lot of extra effort yourself. The program logic is fairly tightly coupled, and the logic is not in the documentation or the code.

The logic is mostly in people's heads, but there is a very good chance that the key person you need to ask about it has already left the company.

There is no code style, no Git, and no code review, but there are the kind of PMs and business units you know.

A small reminder:

Before interviewing for a technical position, remember to prepare some technical topics or tools that you consider important to ask about,

or tentatively ask whether there are technologies you want to learn or put into practice.

Don't be fooled by the words “we are currently introducing it.”

Pros

It may be related to the department.

The place where I work is quite cool.

The workload is normal, and overtime is extremely rare.

The compensation is considered okay compared with others in the same industry.

Cons

The supervisors are almost never from a related field.

You need to be patient when communicating with them.

I went to the interview through a staffing agency and discovered that MOMO really loves holding auditions.

Every interview is only opened after all the staffing agencies have found enough candidates.

The interviews last at least one hour, and sometimes as long as three to four hours.

It is just a minimum-wage job, but the interview process makes you feel like you are participating in an audition.

Even after the staffing agency notifies you that you have been accepted, it may later change to not accepted. The reasons they give may also be made up.

They might say that you previously worked at a certain MOMO facility and performed poorly.

After the staffing agency told me the reason I was not accepted,

I said that I had never worked at any MOMO facility at all.

The staffing agency then relayed this to MOMO's HR department.

MOMO's HR department corrected the information and acknowledged that I had never worked there, but the supervisor still did not accept me.

In short, this is a company with many problems.

It is only offering minimum wage, yet it still wants to select S-grade workers.

The interview was conducted by two managers simultaneously. During my self-introduction, the managers were scrolling on their phones, which was very disrespectful to the candidate.

The manager in the more senior position described himself as very open-minded, saying that people under him could bring any proposals to him, but if they could not convince him, he would absolutely tear them apart.

He openly swore two or three times, and described the subject in the second person, which made me feel insulted. I also felt that the manager did not understand that “you have to consider the situation when speaking,” which was extremely impolite.

My takeaway is that, for greater protection, I should record all interviews in the future!

Pros

Overtime is paid, the year-end bonus is at least two months’ salary, and holidays follow the government’s designated public holidays.

Cons

The department head does not have a design-related background, so work assignments are often disorganized. While working on web design, I am often also required to edit videos or create animations. It is also frequently not understood that designing a layout and implementing the front end takes a considerable amount of time, yet I am often asked to revise the visual design. Senior managers and the planners often have differing opinions, leaving the designer caught in the middle and unsure whose feedback to follow. There is also a lack of an effective manager to coordinate the entire process and communicate with superiors.

The HR lady's attitude was okay.

Cons

The manager conducting the interview had poor emotional control and a condescending attitude. After fewer than ten sentences, I already knew I wouldn't want to join. When I politely declined the job on the spot, the interviewer stood up, turned around, and walked away. The EQ was unbelievably low. Strongly not recommended.

The company doesn't even provide Wi-Fi, and I heard it also blocks internet access. A very conservative internet company.

Large company with efficient HR processes

Cons

After going through two rounds of interviews, I felt they might not fully understand the time and effort the position truly requires. They simply seemed to think it was worth exploring, which was rather unfortunate.

I applied for the position of E-commerce Business Assistant. At first, HR told me that the supervisor was still in a meeting, so I needed to wait and fill out the application form. After the supervisor arrived, the entire interview lasted less than three minutes. After only asking me to briefly introduce myself, the supervisor began talking about how difficult it was to be his assistant, how overtime was inevitable, and so on. His attitude was not very friendly.

After the interview ended, the supervisor asked me to wait for HR. After waiting for about an hour, I called HR and discovered that the supervisor had not told HR that my interview with him had ended at all.

Overall, HR had a good attitude, but the supervisor was very arrogant and seemed unwilling to spend time interviewing people.

Pros

The interview process was pretty good overall.

Cons

This was my interview experience from the first half of 2016. At the time, I think I was interviewing for a position related to recommendation systems. During the interview, I spoke with the manager and an engineer, and it felt pretty good. We eventually discussed salary expectations, and I gave a figure higher than what I was earning at my previous job. I even got a raise on the spot. I felt fantastic at the time and thought, “This must be the best possible outcome for an interview, right?” Later, the manager said they would arrange another interview for me with the vice president, so I went home to wait for the news.

After waiting for over a week without hearing anything, I emailed HR at around seven in the evening to ask about it. As a result, I was rejected within ten minutes. The whole thing made absolutely no sense.

Pros

There is overtime pay, but it only counts after 7 p.m.

Cons

The system is outdated and antiquated, with a mess of mixed-up code throughout. Unused code is never removed, and there are no comments—or when there are, they do not match the code. You cannot learn anything. All you do is keep patients who are dying barely alive. On top of that, senior management is thoughtless and easily emotional, treats employees harshly, and with many benefits, you receive nothing if you have been employed for less than three or six months.

Year-end bonus of no less than 2 months’ salary (information obtained in a 2017 interview)

Cons

A standard interview. The managers in the earlier rounds were humble and courteous, and repeatedly asked you to rate yourself. Final round—the department director was relatively young but impolite. The wait lasted over 50 minutes, with no apology, and he did not make eye contact with the interviewee.
