Pros

I worked in MOMO’s web design department for four years. I started as a newly discharged assistant, and after being trained by the design supervisor at the time (who has since left the company), I was promoted to designer two years later.

All I want to say is that working under that design supervisor allowed me to learn a lot of visual design techniques and grow considerably.

However, after that design supervisor left, a director from operations took over. I have no comment on this director taking over as the design supervisor.

While working under this operations director after they took over as design supervisor, I found that because I could almost always complete the same workload within regular working hours and never needed to submit overtime forms (I always arrived and left during normal hours), I was often required to cover additional last-minute projects. Therefore, I requested a salary increase at the end of one year, but it was not granted.

So I resigned on my own. I was fortunate enough to become a design supervisor elsewhere and increased my salary by a five-figure amount.

What I want to say is that in the high-pressure environment of MOMO’s web department, people who are motivated can indeed learn a lot. I did not come from a design background, but I was trained to become a designer under the design supervisor at the time. Later, through a combination of circumstances and good luck, I became a design supervisor elsewhere. I believe my experience at MOMO helped considerably throughout that process.

For those considering submitting a résumé to MOMO’s web department, here is a small piece of advice: ask yourself what you want! Are you looking for a comfortable, low-pressure job until retirement? Or do you want to hone your reaction speed in a high-pressure environment? Or have you learned nothing, or have you already taken on too many additional responsibilities while your supervisor acts as though they have not noticed? Be clear about when you should resign and where your cutoff point is. Your feet are your own; you can leave whenever you want. The question is, what do you want!? Do you want to complain constantly? Or do you want to learn the skills of someone you dislike and then surpass them? Be clear about what you want.

Also, many people have mentioned that the interview attitude was poor. Based on my own experience, besides the design section manager who has since left, one of the people who interviewed me was Mr. Hong, who has since been promoted to a senior manager in the web department. My impression of him during the interview was very good. He was very polite and did not play with his phone. This is just my personal experience.

Cons

The internet connection is not very convenient
