Pros

The company's exterior and interior are full of design flair, and the ten-story-high tree is also very avant-garde.

Colleagues trust and help one another. When I first joined, I kept asking my buddy questions—so many that I started to feel embarrassed ><

The enthusiastic guidance from senior colleagues meant that, within a week, I had a general understanding of both the major and minor matters here.

Cons

The boss has relatively high expectations of employees, but it is not to the point of being suffocating.

Pros

1. New employees receive excellent guidance and training. An “angel” senior colleague is assigned to them to pay attention to their learning progress and adjustment to the job.

2. For someone like me who enjoys taking on challenges, Shu-Te provides an excellent platform to showcase my abilities. The owner and supervisors support the ideas put forward by their colleagues and encourage innovation.

3. When we encounter bottlenecks at work, senior colleagues and peers work together to provide assistance. No one has an every-person-for-themselves attitude.

4. Shu-Te colleagues work together like a family. Everyone strives toward a common goal without distinction, creating a very positive corporate culture.

5. Every job comes with different pressures and setbacks, but during my time at Shu-Te, I have been able to turn setbacks and pressure into motivation for personal growth. Encouragement from peers and care and recognition from the owner help me greatly. Whenever something is not done well, there is always someone nearby to offer support, concern, and guidance. This has helped me grow tremendously in a short time and learn how to handle situations from more perspectives.

6. Employee benefits exceed the requirements of the Labor Standards Act. Shu-Te never withholds what employees are entitled to; instead, it takes even greater care of employees’ lives.

The above reflects my sincere feelings from when I joined as a new employee until now.

Cons

The owner demands high efficiency. Since he holds himself to the same standard, keeping up with his pace requires extra thought and effort to stay in step with his work rhythm, which can be somewhat demanding.

Pros

The interview with the general manager was quite enjoyable and detailed. I got the impression that the general manager really values the company culture, and everyone there was very friendly too—people would greet me whenever they passed by. So warm!

Cons

The overall interview was rather long, approximately 2.5 hours. It would be more suitable if it could be shortened to 60 minutes.

Pros

Although I had no choice but to leave the company after it relocated to Nantou, making my commute too long, if the travel time had not been so lengthy, I would have continued contributing to the Shu-Teh family. There are always two sides to everything: Shu-Teh treats its employees much better than companies of a similar size. The boss also understands branding, design, and marketing, and has many ideas. Overall, it is a decent traditional manufacturing company.

Cons

When you think the company has many shortcomings, whether you choose to leave or improve things depends on your mindset.

I went to this company for an interview. Although it is somewhat remote, surrounded by rice fields, it is full of warmth and human touch.

I couldn’t find the reception room at first, so I stopped an employee to ask for directions. They warmly escorted me to the destination.

I don’t have much interview experience, but I have encountered companies that were extremely impersonal. The employees at SHUTER, however, all seemed very kind.

The company is planning to move to Nangang in two years, so I probably won’t have the opportunity to join (I want to work in Taichung).

However, throughout the interview, the manager listened patiently to my self-introduction, and the salary was also quite in line with my expectations.

If it weren’t for the work location, I would really like to join SHUTER.

Just normal, nothing much to praise.

Cons

I originally applied for a management position.

I took a test and had two interviews with managers.

After successfully being hired, they called to offer a salary of 26,000 (about four years ago).

After three months, they said they could add another 1,000 depending on performance.

The high salary listed on 104 is only possible if you work a crazy amount of overtime.

With a base salary like this, they still expect to find management talent.

Pros

Employees are trained to be “pleasant on the surface,” which can be mistaken for “kindness.”

Morning meetings are held, so employees must arrive at the company early.

Overtime is unpaid, with no time off in lieu.

Everyone in the office leaves work very late.

Cons

It’s outrageous to get people to flood the reviews. If you really care about your reputation, you should treat employees well and manage the company properly.

The company’s exterior is very eye-catching. You can use your phone at work, and you can also slack off and goof around.

Pros

At my first interview, the overall office environment was excellent.

As soon as I walked in, everyone greeted me with a smile and was so friendly,

which made me feel that the Shu-Teh team was very approachable.

Since starting work here, my supervisor has always shown concern,

and the mutual support among colleagues helped me get into the swing of things very quickly. On my birthday, everyone suddenly sang “Happy Birthday” to me to celebrate. I was truly touched, and I really love the warm, family-like atmosphere at work.

Cons

It would be better to have a designated area for scooters.

Pros

The company headquarters is very impressive.

The headquarters is distinct from the Half Mountain Dream Factory.

There are little angels to greet you as soon as you enter the company,

so I don't feel alone.

There is always someone to ask about everyday matters.

The work-related information in my department is very complete.

There is past information available for reference.

Even if you haven't done something before,

you don't have to start completely from scratch.

I just attended the opening ceremony

and witnessed the company's mobilization capabilities.

Although I haven't been here long,

I look forward to working and learning with everyone.

Cons

The company is very large.

It takes some time to become familiar with all the different spaces.

There are currently not enough parking spaces, but the company will add more in the future.

For now, I need to park on Chenggong 3rd Road.

I have to arrive earlier for work to find a parking space.

This place brings together many talented people, and the team spirit within the department is very strong. Although everyone has their own responsibilities during the day, we always help and support one another when needed, working toward the same goal, completing tasks, and pushing our limits.

I’ve been here for almost two years and like being able to learn many different professional skills from my colleagues and feel that I’m constantly improving.

Cons

There are relatively few parking spaces.

Pros

After being with the company for some time, my overall impression has been very positive.

Personally, I feel that the company has room for growth. The boss is hands-on and very dedicated, and even a traditional industry is run in a very innovative way.

There is a sense of growing and progressing together with the company.

Although there is hardly a moment of free time during work,

having a boss who is willing to listen and provide opportunities to demonstrate your abilities and grow

is actually very rare and valuable.

It is very suitable for job seekers who are serious and willing to devote themselves to their work.

(Those who only want to show up for work and leave at the end of the day may want to think twice, and probably would not stay long.)

When you manage your work efficiency well, overtime is actually not usually necessary.

Cons

The parking is relatively far away.

After two interviews, I made it to the second round, which was conducted by the general manager. Before that, I had to fill out a bunch of documents, and by the end, when the questions had nothing to do with the skills required, I just filled them out casually. Next, I was interviewed by the general manager, who asked about my expertise and experience. I suddenly felt that everything I said about my experience was being recorded and written out in detail on my résumé. Is he really listening to me that attentively? Or is he recording it for future observation and using it as an evaluation for becoming a permanent employee? Thinking about it, it’s not bad—whether I did something or not, there would be a record just by looking at the documents. As for the chairman, is he really that difficult, always showing up right before the end of the workday? I’ll go undercover and observe what happens next before commenting further!!

Cons

Can the HR test be canceled??

Pros

I had been with the company for some time, but plan to change jobs because the new factory is too far from home. I originally wanted to look at reviews of other companies and happened to search for SHUDE. However, I found that the reviews for nearly every company seemed to be more negative than positive, lacking balance. The platform has become a place for dissatisfied people to vent. Indeed, if people are satisfied with their company, they would not be looking for a job and therefore would not leave comments here. So I do not plan to use it as a reference either—experiencing things for yourself is still more reliable!

In the end, I still want to provide some balance for my own company: The company’s new environment is genuinely very good, and the boss also cares a great deal about the comfort of the employees’ working environment. As for the overtime work mentioned in many comments, I have seen many departments leave as soon as working hours are over.

The turnover over the past year or two has been because the company moved from Taichung to Nantou, causing long-serving employees who could not commute to leave. Since the new factory’s new operating model is challenging, it also requires people who are willing to accept challenges in order to stay.

For a company of this size, the boss is quite approachable. Choosing a job is like choosing a partner: There is no perfect partner, only someone with whom you are compatible. Both sides need to adjust and be understanding. In any case, if it works, stay; if it does not, move on.

Overall evaluation: The work is enjoyable, the colleagues get along well, and there are beautiful views to enjoy at work.

Cons

It is too far from home, and parking is not particularly easy.

Cons

1. The boss loves showing up at quitting time to ask whether there are any manuscripts or design drafts for him to review. More than four or five people in the entire department usually have something for him to check. Sometimes he spends half an hour with one person; other times he takes a cursory look and says this or that is unacceptable.

2. The boss is extremely emotional. All authority and decision-making power are in his hands, while the managers are just for show.

3. If you dare to leave work on time, even when you have already worked half an hour late, you will still be considered to have left early. Be prepared to be bullied in the workplace.

4. The weekly morning meeting includes announcements and awards, but its main purpose is still to listen to lectures and reprimands.

5. Both the managers and the boss love using emotional blackmail. They say you have low stress tolerance, and even claim that many people have actually worked here for a long time, but in reality, 5% or less have been here for more than five years; 70–80% have been here for less than five years, and some leave after only a year and a half.

6. The organizational chart looks very large, but in practice power is still concentrated in the hands of certain people. In recent years, the company has been preparing to go public, so everything has been packaged to look very good, but in reality...

7. They really like to say that the company's benefits exceed regulatory requirements. In practice, the supposed extras do not make up for the two or three hours of unpaid overtime you work every day. For example, the employee welfare committee gives a NT$600 birthday gift and a NT$2,000 one-year-service incentive, but they quietly take at least NT$1,000–2,000 from you each month through two or three hours of unpaid overtime per day—more than that in a year.

8. They say you can report overtime, but managers pressure you by saying they assess the workload. Sometimes, if you do not carefully check the overtime pay and leave categories, they are quietly taken away. Employees only dare to rely on each other privately.....

9. Do not believe the nonsense from the managers and boss. They say that because something is urgent, they hope you will work overtime on holidays and that they will come too. In reality, I have hardly ever seen them show up. Then they emotionally blackmail employees by saying, “I know your health is poor, and I hope you get better soon, but we must devote all our effort and treat this valuable matter as if our lives depended on it.” So what happens when employees collapse???

10. They even have to promote smiling and greeting one another among employees??? Just look at how exhausted everyone is—no one can even smile. It was actually fortunate that this happened during the mask-wearing period; otherwise, we would have had to force smiles.

11. Many systems that seem good are merely for show. In reality, the management still follows traditional manufacturing-industry thinking. Do not be fooled by appearances.

12. A dream factory?? In a way, yes—going in feels like having a nightmare. If you want to use it to pad your résumé, you can stay for a short time, but staying long-term will wear you to death.

The foreign colleagues and colleagues from other departments are really nice, but the Taiwanese supervisors are truly terrible and have absolutely no sense of fairness.

Cons

I applied for a position as an operator, but shortly after starting, they told me to direct traffic. The important thing is, the roadway wasn't even covered yet, so you had to deal with customers yelling at you while being exposed to the wind and sun. Many customers can testify to this because it was genuinely exhausting. When I brought it up with my supervisor, they directly told me that I couldn't do that and that I would have a problem if I did.^_^ (Hello?

2. The person above me is a shameless old woman who never taught me anything. After dumping me on the foreign workers, she acted as if I should already know everything. Then, whenever she took issue with me, she kept watching me. Even when something wasn't put there by me, I was always the first person she blamed. It's not that I didn't communicate today! And I'm really sorry, but I'm not the type to suck up to people.

At such an old age, does she not have to answer to her conscience when she speaks?~

Then, if they wouldn't transfer me to another department, they wanted me to resign voluntarily.

The foreign workers at SHUDE are all very kind and willing to teach. They are very patient...

The Taiwanese supervisors should really reflect on themselves...

Cons

The Taiwanese supervisors at SHUDE should really reflect on themselves...

They slack off and play on their phones, don't even write what they are supposed to, yet still make all sorts of demands.....

The salary here is extremely low. Job seekers are advised to avoid this place.....

Even with the “labor shortage,” the salary is still so low.

Boss, don't you know that the labor shortage across Taiwan is even more severe?

It's already very difficult to find young people willing to do this kind of work.

If the company can't retain anyone every month, should it be reflecting on the employees or on itself?

If you want to retain talent, please put some thought into the partners working on the production line, okay, boss? Without workers, how are you going to have so many cabinets to sell......

Don't just chant slogans.... The benefits really aren't that great...

The employee trip was canceled simply because of the pandemic.

Yet your company was conducting a trial operation and bringing in a large number of tourists—weren't you afraid of the pandemic? I'm confused ❓❓❓

A company this large doesn't even turn on the air conditioning.

Those working online are making money for the company.

We don't have air conditioning.

The office staff are also making money for the company, that's true.

But they get to enjoy air conditioning.

Are they people while we are not?

Please improve this, okay?

Maybe the only thing that made me feel like there was something to the place was the two magazines during the interview~

Cons

When interviewing at the Nantou plant, you have to enter through the small door on the left when entering the factory (it’s very inconspicuous). After notifying them that you’ve arrived for the interview, you still have to wait outside for 15 minutes... and there isn’t even a security guard. HR handles the badge exchange, but when leaving, I actually had to exchange the badge myself. It’s really DIY~

It took 1.5 hours just to complete the written test and personal information form, but when the supervisor came to interview me, it was 11:50. They seemed to be going through the motions and just wanted to wait for lunch. The interview lasted less than 10 minutes. It was truly speechless how disrespectful it felt. All I want to say is, if you can’t offer a higher salary, just put 26–30 instead—you still dared to list 26–35. What a joke~ All I can do is laugh~

The interviewer was very nice. It was a standard process: introducing myself, discussing my previous work experience, and so on. Oh, and I had to take a test first to assess my logic and attentiveness, although tests like this seem to be walking the line of legality XD. I immediately proceeded to a second interview, but there was a very long wait in between. The entire interview took nearly half a day..... Later, I just chatted with the boss.... I was offered the job, and thought I would give it a try, so I officially started working.

Cons

There is an overtime application system, but you can't actually use it ><. After a while, I noticed that the boss really likes to show up close to quitting time. It feels like they are watching who leaves work on time—and whoever does will suffer. They use emotional pressure to expect employees to devote their time to work, regardless of whether it is working hours or not. They are also somewhat emotional = =. It feels like this is why the company has such a high employee turnover rate. Anyone thinking of joining should think twice. The only thing I can say is that the relationships among the employees are very good, which is a plus!!

The interview was very long.

There was a questionnaire to complete, and the conversation also lasted a long time.

The interviewing supervisor was very detail-oriented and polite.

The atmosphere among the employees was fairly friendly. At least, if you randomly asked anyone for directions, they were all polite and happy to help.

Although it is an old company, the boss works hard to foster a youthful and energetic team atmosphere.

This is a company with ideals, led by a boss with ideas.

The salary is not high, but it is still acceptable.

Cons

In manufacturing, it is normal for costs to be scrutinized and for things to be complicated and roundabout. As a result, you may see an unexpectedly low base salary in the salary structure, followed by various additions and allowances, and only then see your target salary—and it may still fall short by just a tiny bit. Be mentally prepared in advance, and you will not be disappointed.

Cons

The overtime culture is very serious. When it is time to get off work, no one dares to leave on time. The boss deliberately keeps watch in the office around closing time and closely monitors those who leave. This is an area where traditional industries have considerable room for improvement in their transformation. The boss expects employees to devote their time to the company and does not place much value on employees’ personal time. I worked at Shu-Te for a period of time, and it is a real shame.

I think the manager who interviewed me should be a good person.

Cons

The interview process involved reporting to the office in the factory area on the second floor, filling out forms, and taking an attention-to-detail test and a logic test. The tests were conducted at a meeting table beside the reception desk at the switchboard, in an open space where people were constantly coming and going. I could barely hear what the HR representative was saying. The tests were timed, but HR did not specifically emphasize when they had to be completed, so I had to keep track of the time myself. After completing them, I interviewed with the department manager. It was really noisy in the open space, and I often could not clearly hear what the manager was saying. I thought the interview location was quite ridiculous. Employees are required to wear uniforms to work: from Monday to Thursday, a white shirt and black pants in winter, and a white shirt and black skirt in summer; Friday is casual-dress day. Breakfast must be finished before 8:00 a.m., otherwise you will be watched closely. There is no overtime pay. Definitely a traditional manufacturing company with lots of paperwork.

Making someone wait two hours for a second interview is already outrageous enough. Once the conversation officially began, the general manager was extremely disrespectful, scrolling through their phone and nodding off, while repeatedly asking me exactly how much revenue my previous company had (about five times).

Cons

During the interview, the manager repeatedly verified the accuracy of my experience, which felt somewhat nitpicky. Candidates attending an interview may want to pay attention to ensuring that the résumé completed on-site is consistent with their résumé on 104.
