I don't know

Speaking of which, I submitted my résumé and it disappeared without a trace. Seems like that's also a good thing. Thanks everyone for your valuable advice.

Pros

He let me use the restroom.

Cons

1. I waited for half an hour during the interview but couldn’t find the department head; afterward, I was interviewed directly by the head of an unrelated department.

2. The job description for the position I applied for did not match the actual requirements.

3. The interview lasted an hour and a half, but I actually spent more than 30 minutes waiting for people.

Pros

There are no advantages.

Cons

Regarding Zhongqin Industrial, I originally posted about it once on Interview Fun, but it was rejected by the reviewer as unacceptable.

I had already written that article very conservatively, and even humorously tried to make excuses for Zhongqin. I admit that the tone was somewhat sarcastic.

I accepted the rejection of my article.

All I can say is: since that is the case, fine, I will write about it truthfully. There is no need to pretend anymore.

To all job seekers and interviewees: please treasure your valuable time and energy. Think twice before interviewing with this company.

If you can avoid coming, do not come.

This is because the company said it would hire me but stood me up, causing me to develop an anxiety disorder. Thank you so much, Zhongqin Industrial.

First of all, the interview process at Zhongqin Industrial requires you to spend approximately 50 minutes answering questions.

That guarantees wasting 50 minutes of your life right from the start.

The questions are not difficult: Chinese, English, mathematics, and science.

There were even typos in the Chinese questions—two of them, in fact—and they had not been checked. It was unbelievable.

The question booklet is enclosed in a plastic document bag. Since you are not allowed to write notes or calculations in the booklet, please bring your own paper and pen for calculations during the interview.

There was no paper or pen at the site, and they would not even provide drinking water to interviewees.

The plastic bag was covered in dirt and was extremely shabby.

I brought an entire pencil case of my own supplies, finished writing easily, and then waited for the interviewer, wasting about another 10 minutes. At this point, you can conservatively estimate that at least an hour of your time may have been wasted.

After you finish, HR will ask you to sit and wait briefly for the interviewer.

Let me be frank: after waiting a little, you will face a female interviewer who constantly subjects you to intense pressure.

She will harshly criticize you, holding your résumé and reprimanding you.

She will ask how far you live from home and how many minutes it takes to drive to the company.

Whether you can drive.

She will ask you to introduce yourself, then interrupt you halfway through your self-introduction.

What is in your portfolio?

She will ask why you want to come to our company.

She will ask whether you can do back-end work, whether you can use Photoshop, whether you can create graphics, and whether you can put up webpages.

My portfolio was placed on the table, and then she asked me whether I could do......

I opened my online digital-art portfolio, showed her products I had sold and my social media accounts, but she only glanced at them before continuing to criticize my résumé for not looking impressive.

Yes.

Please remember:

It was Zhongqin's HR department that actively invited me to the interview.

I did not submit my résumé proactively.

Is it polite to ask such a question?

I still maintained a kind attitude, while she repeatedly displayed impatient expressions during the interview, frequently using her phone and answering calls. She was extremely disrespectful toward others.

She also adopted a superior tone and said, “Is there anything you would like to ask?”

During the conversation, I asked many questions about salary, benefits, job duties, and so on. Regarding salary, her answer was inconsistent with what the HR lady earlier had said: there was no overtime pay, and it was a responsibility-based position. The benefits and job details were just what was written on 104; there was nothing else special.

After reviewing my résumé, she realized that she was interviewing a job seeker with a hearing impairment and disability—that is, me.

I was already speechless.

Her attitude later became gentler and encouraging. She tried to make up for her slip of the tongue and poor interview attitude, arbitrarily analyzed my personality, and attempted to ease the awkward atmosphere. I could only force a smile. I only needed a job to make a living, but by then it was too late.

There was no need to be so aggressive just because I needed a job to make a living, was there? It made the job seeker feel inferior.

Later, she said something like, “If you have a challenging spirit, then you should come in at whatever time for work,” but by then I was no longer in the mood. I only felt that this company was truly strange.

I roughly knew that I had been hired by this female interviewer, but the process was a tormenting hell, like an interrogation.

After the interview, I went home and politely replied to HR through the 104 job-search app:

“Thank you for arranging today’s interview.

The supervisor pointed out the shortcomings in my résumé and encouraged me, saying that the opportunity to learn seriously would be provided, and that continuing to grow with the team here was very appealing to me.

If it is confirmed that I can report for work, please notify me of the necessary information.

Thank you again.”

The reply I received was: “Hello, sir. The supervisor has just confirmed that you have been hired. The document approval process will take some time, and the earliest we can send you the employment notification will be next Tuesday. Thank you.”

I was told that I had been hired. The 104 conversation record confirmed twice that I had been hired, but that I had to wait for the employment notification.

Although the interview process felt like being beaten severely, at the time I thought I should make preparations early in order to join the company, so that I would have the relevant skills and knowledge.

And then—ha—the employment notification? You can wait for it slowly.

The employment notification would never be sent.

That is what happened to me.

I was made a clown.

By this point, you will have had more than seven precious days of your time and energy wasted waiting for this letter.

I still have not received the letter. It is truly pathetic.

First confirmation of whether I had been hired

Their reply:

“Hello, sir. The supervisor has just confirmed that you have been hired. The document approval process will take some time, and the earliest we can send you the employment notification will be next Tuesday. Thank you.”

Fine, I waited until the following Tuesday and again confirmed whether I had been hired—but I still had not received the employment notification.

They replied:

“Hello, sir. The formal approval documents have not yet been issued. Since there are many interviewees, we ask you to wait. We will notify you proactively when there is news.”

Fine, does Zhongqin not have such a thing as an emailed employment notification?

They cannot even manage one email?

Waiting for signing documents?

I waited for more than a month. Thank you, Zhongqin Industrial Co., Ltd. The negative reviews of this company online are not unfounded.

This was absolutely the worst and most unforgettable interview experience I have ever had.

Additional information:

I wasted my time and money on clothing. Only after confirming my hiring with HR twice did I buy two formal outfits to prepare for starting work.

Now I can only comfort myself by looking for a better administrative position. The clothes can still be worn, so it is fine—I did not lose out. Those two formal outfits helped me see what kind of company this is.

After the interviewer criticized me and told me to study on my own, I spent three days staying up late reviewing the company’s website and teaching myself. I found a large number of errors on the company’s website, including broken hyperlink images, incorrect product specifications, and inconsistent specifications. I wrote these website deficiencies down in a notebook, intending to discuss with my future colleagues after officially starting work how the problems should be resolved.

Since I was going to join the company, I would absolutely have done my homework seriously.

Now it is unnecessary, because the company treated interviewees poorly. I may as well consider this notebook a waste of effort.

I recently clicked into the website of Zhongqin Industrial Co., Ltd. and compared it with the portions I had recorded at the time. The hyperlink image errors, inconsistent specifications, and broken photos still remain. That is when I knew there was no hope.

Finally, this incident caused me psychological and physical trauma, and I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.

If Zhongqin Industrial toys with a job seeker in so many ways, what must it be like for colleagues already working there?

Entering this company presumably would not lead to happiness. If they will not even give an unfamiliar job seeker a cup of water, and the interview process is extremely similar to an interrogation, employees surely will not have healthy physical or mental well-being either.

There is a particularly helpless senior executive who has formed a crown prince faction within the company, connecting everyone from assistant managers to operators—a perfect cross-departmental organization.

A member at the lowest level, an operator, can directly question the decision of the deputy manager of the X management department.

After reporting to this particularly helpless senior executive, they pressure the deputy manager of the X management department on the operator’s behalf, standing up for the operator.

This is just one example, but it is not an isolated case; examples like this can be found everywhere.

In LINE groups, calling other deputy managers “his X” is standard practice. Adding “asshole” and “slacker” makes it complete—but that deputy manager had only been on the job for just over a month…

Is there really a need to join a gang for the sake of a job? Once this gang leaves the company… it’s 2266; perhaps joining X United or the Tian XX Association would be better.

The high salary offered to you includes compensation for mental damages, but it is usually not enough to offset the humiliation and damage to your dignity, so I left.

I would rather join the underworld for a chicken leg…

Free lunch

Something those in high positions take pride in, but providing meals is standard practice at electronics factories.

Cons

(Fat Orange, Consort Hua, Lingrong, the Empress Dowager, everyone secretly competing)

Always trying to instruct the professionals; when unhappy, they resort to verbal abuse. When the result does not match their own imagination, they pull all sorts of petty tricks. Extremely confident, and they believe they are the best. You're a superstar.

Getting hired is relatively easy. (Because no one who knows about it wants to go, while those who go in without knowing eventually resign.)

Because they are short of temporary workers, the salary can be relatively high. (However, if they decide they have no use for you, there is a risk they may ask you to leave.)

Cons

All I can say is that this is not a company that ordinary people would want to “commit to long term.”

Within a year, there are about 60 departing employees whom I have seen or know about. (Including those I do not know about, the number of production workers leaving may exceed 100 a year.)

If a company has to go on Google and various websites to flood them with reviews, and you can still consider it a good company, congratulations—you probably will not encounter a bad company either.

Pros

1. The HR representative was very friendly and even provided bottled water for the interviewee (based on my personal experience; interviews usually include tea or water, which may indicate that a company places more importance on its employees and usually offers better benefits. There are no absolutes—this is for reference only).

2. There was a logic test before the interview. It was not very long, but it was quite interesting.

3. My interview was conducted in two stages. The first stage was an initial interview with colleagues from the department, and the second stage was an interview with a supervisor. In both stages, the interviewers clearly introduced the company and provided a complete explanation of the job responsibilities. In addition to assessing whether the interviewee was suitable for the position, they also gave the interviewee a thorough understanding of the company.

4. The interview process was relaxed and efficient, creating an atmosphere that made me want to join the Zhongqin family.

Cons

1. I read online reviews before the interview and was somewhat concerned because there were quite a few negative reviews. However, after attending the interview in person, I found that the experience was not as described in the negative online reviews; overall, my impression was positive.

2. The only possible shortcoming was that the interviewer, who was a supervisor, had another meeting afterward, so we were unable to continue our conversation for much longer.

Pros

1. Free meals are a major advantage.

2. Senior managers are willing to listen to employees’ ideas, communicate rationally, and provide support.

3. Regarding overtime pay, I have reviewed the relevant regulations, and the employment contract also clearly states that employees may work overtime after submitting an application.

4. The only eligibility requirement for the company’s employee trips is that participants be currently employed. Isn’t that beneficial to employees? Most companies outside probably require employees to have completed a certain period of service before they can participate!

Every company and department has its own problems; it all depends on your attitude toward facing them.

Cons

1. There is indeed room for improvement in the internal processes, but this is also something that requires everyone’s effort to achieve.

2. If you commute by car, although there are many roadside parking spaces nearby, you may still have to pay approximately NT$200 per day in roadside parking fees.

No advantages whatsoever

Cons

A completely incompetent company that accomplishes nothing, constantly establishing poor relationships with clients and contractors. It has the highest internal turnover rate, the automation department manager is the most prone to making mistakes, making empty promises, talking recklessly, accomplishing nothing, and slacking off.

The senior manager is forever giving directions from above without understanding the situation. No matter how many mistakes are made, it is never her fault. At her age, she is still showing off and acting coquettishly, thinking she looks good when, unbeknownst to her, everyone gives her negative reviews. I really don't know where she gets her confidence and courage.

Doing equipment work here would be better than going to sell guava. They treat engineers like idiots. It's great for engineers who do nothing to have their mothers to rely on—there is nothing better than one's mother. Anyone planning to join should be mentally prepared: lasting a full month counts as having ability, lasting more than three months counts as being able to endure, and lasting more than a year counts as slacking off. Don't waste time interviewing, because you're only wasting your life.

They steal vendors' programs and owe vendors money. There is nothing they cannot do—only they are the best at everything. Everyone else is sorry to them, while they are always justified in their own eyes.

In there, ability doesn't matter; as long as people can rely on you, you're a PM. The senior manager and manager work together to manipulate things, while the boss is manipulated into nodding along in confusion.

Full of relatives of powerful people who, besides being self-important, have no professionalism whatsoever.

Especially the vice president of the Business Department and the section chief of the Cleaning Department, who completely live in their own worlds.

A product was tested using a whole range of production methods and sent for analysis and inspection, but it kept failing. When reasons were requested, they had already decided what answer they wanted. If the answer did not match what they had decided, they would just keep yelling. Even after the data reports were provided for them to review, they continued to accuse the inspectors of falsifying the results. The section chief of the production-line Cleaning Department says everyone should cooperate with each other, but then never informs anyone when they will bring products over or what time they will deliver them. Even when you cooperate by working overtime on holidays, they will not tell you whether they plan to bring anything that day or what time they will bring it—you're simply expected to wait obediently. Whether you get overtime pay is your own problem. If you leave early, they scold you, always saying, “I already told you; you knew about it, so don’t deny it.” Otherwise, they will bring it up in front of everyone and see whether the vice president believes them or you.

The vice president of the Business Department is someone who cannot even understand a professional inspection report, does not know the detection limit of the instruments, and still demands that results be recorded as zero. Not detecting something does not mean it is absent. Senior managers do not even understand this basic common sense, yet they still dare to question the inspectors.

I advise anyone working in instrument-analysis inspection not to come here. Your expertise will only be treated as garbage.

A good place to fully experience and learn about office politics and workplace culture. Suitable for young people to go and get some firsthand experience (although I still feel there’s no need to waste your time).

Cons

If you want to make a living by selling your skills, this place isn’t suitable for you. They don’t look at your efficiency or quality—only the times you clock in and out. If you want to sell your body, this place isn’t suitable for you either. Once they’ve had their fun, not paying you means it doesn’t count as selling. If you’re looking for stability, this place isn’t suitable for you either; you could be forced out at any time. Unless you genuinely want to experience it for yourself, I really don’t recommend wasting your time there. This isn’t limited to any particular department—it’s a phenomenon that exists throughout the entire company.

None! A self-righteous company

Cons

During my first interview, I thought the company had goals and ambition! However, after joining the company, I discovered that, in addition to relatives and favorites of those in power, there were also many self-righteous middle managers!

The company established an automation equipment department overseeing three divisions: FAE, mechanical design, and electrical control design! Apart from FAE, the other two divisions require highly specialized technical expertise and should be led by professional managers. This department has a senior manager responsible for business and another manager leading technical development. However, there is really nothing positive to say about these two people. In particular, the manager would often sit on customer requests until they could no longer be delayed, then casually promise the customer a delivery date to put pressure on the design department. By the time a project was assigned, there was often less than two months left!

In the department group chat, this manager selectively answered questions he was willing to address. If someone asked a question that he felt challenged his expertise, he would avoid answering and look for an opportunity to report the person to senior management for termination! The senior manager often went out with the department manager, claiming they were discussing project development with customers. But if they were discussing the development of a technical project, why not bring along a professional technical person to understand it? This behavior invites speculation! The senior manager also clearly understood the department manager’s abilities, yet instead of dealing with the issue, continued protecting this manager! As a result, talent in this automation department has constantly come and gone, and the company has been unable to retain people!

I strongly advise job seekers not to join Chung-Chin. That tempting piece of the pie will give you indigestion!

Free lunch and dinner

Cons

Let's talk about the frontline manager! Recently, an automation equipment department was established, consisting of three subdepartments: mechanical design, electrical control software, and customer service! This department requires a high level of technical expertise, and its manager should also have a solid technical background! However, Zhongqin Industrial assigned someone who knows nothing to serve as the manager. The design, development, electrical wiring and panel building, software programming, test runs, and machine adjustments all had to be completed within one month! The issues raised by the engineers below were answered selectively! A target had already been drawn for this manager, yet he still shot at the wrong target! He failed to answer the questions that were asked! Even more ridiculous, such a large company could actually end up purchasing counterfeit knockoff PLCs through this manager's procurement! What a pitiful and laughable company culture! I don't know why this department manager has been able to stay for so long! As long as this manager remains, I think this department will probably disappear before too long!

Pros

The work environment at this company is challenging, and colleagues are enthusiastic and willing to proactively offer suggestions.

Cons

A process that should have been dealt with five million years ago only started getting attention three months later—meetings, scolding, and the start of painting grand promises.

There is no overtime pay, and judging from the words and actions of senior management, they do not want to provide it. Evidence is currently being collected to add another violation of the Labor Standards Act to this company’s record.

Cooperation among the company’s departments is inefficient because the general manager likes to talk about firing people, while the vice president of sales likes to berate people, resulting in serious buck-passing among departments.

Even after clearly doing my best, I was directly asked to resign. A company like this cannot even retain an assistant manager, while only the operators happily and naively come to work every day.

Employee turnover is extremely high, interdepartmental relations are poor, and senior management cannot escape blame.

Pros

1. The employees who are serious about their work came out to explain the product, and the content was truly professional.

2. The HR representative was very kind and thoughtful; her attention to detail was impeccable.

Cons

The final interview was with the vice president of the sales department. She looked very presentable and seemed like a sharp and capable career woman, but it would have been better if she had not spoken. As soon as she opened her mouth, she gave the impression of being very lacking in ability, without the level, poise, or vision expected of someone in that position. During the pandemic, she did not even know how to wear her mask properly. Her low level of competence is impossible to describe. Since I had already come, I thought I might as well go through the motions and complete the process politely, so I answered all the questions half-heartedly. I already knew for sure that I would not accept the job, so there was no need to engage deeply with a senior executive who could not understand what people were saying and had little worldly knowledge. It was not that I did not want to; this noble matcha ("green tea" would not be strong enough to describe her, so I have to apologize to matcha) genuinely could not understand. Saying more would only waste words and time.

If you receive an invitation to interview for a sales-related position, I suggest not wasting your time and life—especially if you have work experience. Perhaps saying this sounds like I am contradicting myself, but I have to praise this company’s promotional materials. After watching the company introduction on YouTube and seeing the factory environment, equipment, and products it manufactures, you would think it should be a well-managed company. But after actually going there, all I can say is that what this company really wants is top-class gigolos to serve the noble Matcha Empress, not talented people who genuinely want to work.

Pros

Much better than the nearby companies, with generous salary offers—they dare to offer, and they follow through.

Cons

1. Parking outside the company is very difficult.

2. The company employs an extremely large number of foreign workers; it practically relies on these workers to make money.

3. The company has a great many business divisions! Even the chairman runs an outside business himself. Internally, the company mainly focuses on producing the products the chairman takes orders for. As for everyone else, matters are dragged out whenever possible, and no one CARES about losing orders or other accountability issues.

4. As above, because there are so many business divisions, everyone is competing to see whose connections are strongest. Everyone at the top (who are from the same family) is constantly scheming against one another. What everyone is competing for is not the good of the company, but simply their own performance results.

5. The money the company earns never makes its way into employees' pockets. There are no year-end bonuses or profit-sharing. The money the boss earns is used to build houses and make investments; the company will not even purchase basic consumables or revenue-generating equipment.

6. Most of the company's products are bought and resold; it produces very, very, very little itself. Externally, it claims that it has many of its own factories distributed in various locations, which is why they cannot be seen. In reality, these products are procured from elsewhere.

7. The purchasing department repeatedly cuts prices, to the point that the company's reputation in the industry has become terrible. More and more suppliers are listing it as a company they will no longer do business with, resulting in material shortages or indefinitely delayed delivery dates.

8. Whether you do a good job at the company is not the point. The boss needs you to be loyal to her like a dog; it is perfectly normal for her not to trust you.

As the old saying goes, “Those above and below rob one another”—come here and experience it for yourself.

9. Finally, the drawbacks of a family business—or the vice president having a bad temper, or the chairman arguing with someone—are all played out every week.

Think twice.

They invited me to interview for: Laboratory Specialist

There are 3 people in the LAB: 2 on the day shift and 1 on the night shift.

Working hours: day shift and night shift. The night shift rotates every 3 months, with each rotation lasting 3 months, from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The job duties sound like those of a general quality-control inspector: wearing cleanroom clothing; the day shift "sometimes" requires overtime, and "sometimes" requires working the day shift on holidays.

They emphasized that overtime pay would definitely be provided and that they strictly comply with the Labor Standards Act (Good!!)

Night-shift allowance: approximately NT$6,000 per month?! (Really?! I hope someone can share their experience.)

Cons

There is a written test at the beginning. The question bank had been photocopied many times, making it blurry and difficult to read. You had to look very carefully to tell whether a number was 6 or 8. There were both English and Chinese questions. The 3D block questions were the most baffling!! The blocks differed in length and width, so how were you supposed to determine how many blocks there were? The test questions I had taken before were not like this!!

Basic English (around a seventh-grade level, simple) and an intelligence test (you need to put some thought into it)

The interviewer was not a supervisor, but just a LAB colleague. He had been notified at the last minute that he was supposed to interview me. Uh... I was speechless. We did not discuss the salary, and there was no second interview; I was told to wait for the supervisor to call and inform me of the salary. (Strange.)

Being tricked into interviewing for a night-shift position felt terrible!! I asked the LAB colleague about it on the spot: Yes, the job posting did not say that the position required rotating night shifts. (Sigh.)

2. The salary offered is at the low end for traditional industries, yet the position expects an unlimited expansion of responsibilities under an all-inclusive work system.

3. This position is frequently hiring.

Pros

The salary is slightly higher.

Cons

The work atmosphere is very bad. It is a family business, and all the department managers are connected.

The departments argue back and forth every day, and the people at the bottom are the ones who suffer~~. Clearly unsuitable managers occupy management positions, and turnover is very high.

Aside from the generous salaries they offer, all the other benefits are only for show and impossible to enjoy!! Because it is a family business, the benefits are available only to managers and above.

As for the company’s systems~they are even more chaotic. Official documents are delayed (traditional paper documents), and few people know how to use the ERP system (turnover is too high; those who know how to use it have left, those who do not know how do not want to use it, and those who want to use it are restricted by the user limit. Even checking something requires waiting and waiting~~~). Overall, efficiency is extremely poor; they are dealing with “moods” instead of “matters.”

The huge office building was constructed by covering over part of the parking lot. Only managers and above have parking spaces; everyone else has to compete for parking outside. It feels terrible to have to compete for a parking space first thing in the morning. You have to arrive very early and leave very late, while only the company’s favored relatives can leisurely drive in and park. This is not a benefit; it is a privilege!! So see through it!!

Unless they offer a very high salary, if you go in for the money, just endure the psychological abuse and pressure!!

I have heard the on-site operators say that they are docked pay for making defective products, yet the problems with reviewing the machinery and improving the processes are never examined.

The overtime is also excessive (and overtime pay cannot be claimed).

The work atmosphere is very bad. After all, it is a family business, and all the department heads have nepotistic connections.

When the two sides argue back and forth (almost every day), it is the people below who suffer. ~~ Clearly incompetent supervisors occupy supervisory positions, and turnover is very high.
