Pros

The pros are probably that they’re good at making grand promises, and the salary is up to standard.

Cons

It’s a family business, so the entire company has to defer to their family. In addition to using emotionally charged language toward employees, they change the way bonuses are calculated according to their mood. If possible, there are many more and better options in the same industry!

A family member interviewed at your company yesterday.

The chairman's attitude was extremely arrogant.

His very first sentence was:

“How can you be so fat?”

Apart from commenting on their body and appearance,

all of his subsequent questions were intended to belittle them.

When discussing his requirements for recruitment,

the lofty values of the company,

and how their team leaders and sales staff were all outstanding and talented,

he ultimately concluded by disparaging

my family member and their company, who also work in the travel industry.

So the entire buildup was merely intended to show his superiority?

I humbly accept your comments on my qualifications,

but repeatedly making my body the subject of criticism?

Even directing your verbal attacks at my family?

I do not understand…

This kind of verbal bullying

is truly beneath someone of your stature.

You may choose not to hire my family member,

but you and I are complete strangers.

How could you say such malicious and discourteous things?

That interview was an eye-opening experience, full of astonishing revelations.

You interviewed me, and I interviewed you as well.

If being mean and abusive is how you treat people,

I can only wish that your family and descendants remain safe and healthy

and never encounter the same kind of malicious treatment.

Close to the MRT station

Cons

A well-known family business in the industry. Senior management often calls pointless meetings just to berate people, and does not respect mid- or senior-level managers. They have bad tempers and use insulting language; you have to learn to let it go in one ear and out the other. There are so many ineffective meetings that there is no time to get work done, yet you will still be scolded if the work is unfinished. You can only keep working overtime, and will still be told that your efficiency is poor. Managers often have no idea what senior management is thinking. There are frequent disagreements with superiors and serious infighting among managers, while people in the same department also undermine one another. In the end, work is simply pushed downward, leaving new employees as cannon fodder. New hires need to know how to read the room to survive. Managers may not necessarily guide you, and following the wrong manager can leave you to fend for yourself. Having the right manager is crucial—you can only burn incense and pray that you end up with a good one.

Family members all have their own ideas and will not listen to the opinions of their managers or employees, leaving almost no room for discussion. You are told to do whatever they want. Even if it is eventually proven that you were right, you must bear the consequences when something goes wrong after following senior management’s instructions. Even when you discover an error, you can only correct it quietly because the boss has the final say.

The turnover rate is high: people join and leave every week. There are so many new faces that you cannot keep track before another batch leaves. New hires receive no employee training and are put straight to work. If someone guides you, you are very lucky; if no one does, you have to take the initiative to ask others. Even when asking for help, you have to read the room. Workplace cliques are common, so you just need to adapt. Just when you are about to get the hang of your work, your duties may suddenly be rearranged without prior notice, which is also commonplace. Cross-department communication is very poor, and longtime employees often like to snap directly at others. Multiple people or teams often work on the same matter, only for it to ultimately be abandoned without resolution.

There are no holiday bonuses or year-end bonuses. Certain positions are supposed to receive bonuses, but none have been paid so far. The company may even owe sales staff their performance bonuses. Human resources is looked down on by the boss, so performance evaluations are not conducted. A high salary or position does not mean high ability; it all depends on how well you flatter the boss. Those who are liked are usually not good people. The ones who are frequently scolded are often the people actually doing the work. As a result, the more experienced employees leave even faster. Those who stay for a long time are either very good at pushing work onto others or exceptionally capable and resilient—it is extremely polarized. The better your abilities, the more work you are given, without a pay raise. Sometimes one person is used to do the work of three. There is so much work that it cannot be finished, yet you are also expected to train new employees. Managers do not think you are spending time training newcomers; they only think you have not finished your own work. Internal controls are chaotic, so you are often placed in very difficult situations.

There are many reasons not to work at this company:

1. After being hired and joining the company, no one is willing to train you, and people keep passing the responsibility around.

2. There are many cliques, and most colleagues are unfriendly and unwilling to teach you.

3. It is mostly a family business. People are promoted mainly because of their family connections. Most employees below are dissatisfied with this situation, so they deliberately treat people working under the relatives of senior figures unfriendly—extremely unfriendly—leaving newcomers completely at a loss.

4. You have to buy your own stationery. This was the first time I heard of a company that does not provide it. They even said, “We don’t provide things that can be taken away.” We don’t provide things that can be taken away. I just want to ask: What stationery can’t be taken away??????

5. Whenever there is a mistake, everything is blamed on the newcomer.

6. There are almost meetings every day. With so much time being used for meetings instead of being put to good use, I am completely baffled.

Yes, I was just that newcomer who had only been there for one month.

I have never encountered a company this outrageous,

especially one this large.

Pros

1. I can't find a worse travel agency.

2. It can strengthen your self-esteem.

Cons

1. The chairman is very skilled at verbal humiliation.

2. The general manager is very skilled at verbal humiliation.

3. During the pandemic, they claimed to be expanding their workforce, but in reality the staff was reduced from 600 to 300, with no one being laid off! Everyone left after being verbally humiliated.

4. Being able to last for more than a year means your skin is thick enough.

5. The reviews found through searches have never been positive.

6. They make huge profits through unscrupulous means and consider themselves to offer high-end travel, but what they actually provide is extremely poor.

Pros

Cons

The boss conducted the interview personally, and from beginning to end, all they did was disparage you as a person, your family, work experience, and relationships with friends. In the end, they resorted directly to personal attacks. The travel industry is already struggling enough, yet it still has leaders like this; the company’s prospects are easy to imagine. I strongly advise not even considering wasting your time going to the interview.

You have to wear formal attire to the interview. I really don’t understand why the tourism industry, which should be a relaxed industry, still requires you to dress like this. After the interview, they said they would notify me within two weeks, regardless of whether I was accepted, but in the end, I was still ghosted.

The IT equipment isn’t updated—how are IT staff supposed to maintain it? Users complain all day that their computers are slow. Fuck this. The boss’s wife acts like an idiot who thinks she’s capable; an amateur leads the experts. What a pathetic company.

Pros

Pros:

1. Close to the MRT station!

2. They often invite credit card companies to set up booths, because project clients are very likely to get approved for cards (but the employee welfare committee supervisor has resigned, so things may start going downhill)

HR, engineers, legal staff, and senior employees have all left recently ( ・᷄ὢ・᷅ )⋯What should this company do??

Cons

Cons: 【The following is long; complaints are organized by the people, circumstances, time, and place】

【People】

The boss—the chairman—is a somewhat old-fashioned older man.

Even if you have innovative ideas, as long as he is dissatisfied, he thinks his own ideas are the best.

Then he lectures you or the sales staff.

He often walks around the office.

When you are on the phone, he listens beside you to what you are saying.

If he is dissatisfied with the content of the phone conversation, he will “intervene” and instruct you on what to do.

The boss’s wife

She is terrifying when scolding people; her voice often carries from the last office all the way to the front.

But she says that she has a good temper herself (??) and that emotions should not be brought into work matters.

I heard from colleagues that when there are anonymous negative posts online, she randomly grabs employees to ask whether they wrote them. Oh my god, is this the White Terror?!

-

The turnover rate is very high. The salespeople there are quite stupid and very bad at adapting; they need others to help with everything. Even those who have worked there for many years⋯still cannot do the most basic tasks. Maybe they were never taught the fundamentals properly.

In short, this place is basically a gathering spot for a bunch of useless old people to coast through retirement.

As for the “place” (because many of the people in the departments were poached as entire teams from other companies).

-

Oh, and after making photocopies here, you have to hurry to the copier to retrieve the paper. Otherwise, your colleagues will watch you, and your supervisors will watch you too (saying something about personal information being at risk of leaking?? Come on, it’s really hilarious. If you don’t pick it up after printing, the old-timers will even publicly chew you out.)

& You can’t wear canvas shoes or T-shirts from Monday to Thursday ^_^

Also, if you are very afraid of cockroaches, don’t apply.

Here, just tapping inside the phone can make four or five baby cockroaches fall out. If you eat hot food at your desk, the cockroaches will smell the food and come rushing out, scaring you to death!

The water dispenser at the back of the fourth floor has had no cold water (only scalding warm water and hot water) for many years, and they still haven’t fixed it.

Only the third floor (which has no restroom) and the reception area on the fourth floor have properly functioning water dispensers.

No pros

Cons

I submitted my résumé and was invited by HR for an interview.

When I arrived at the site (the Taipei headquarters), no one greeted me.

I had to find an employee who looked unoccupied and ask where I should wait for the interview.

1) HR and the supervisor had not coordinated properly:

The department supervisor acted as if they had no idea why I was there for an interview.

2) The interviewer did not respect the interviewee:

While I was answering their questions, they were scrolling on their phone and kept staring at it.

3) They tried to put me into a position I had not applied for:

The supervisor was arrogant, kept criticizing my qualifications, and cut the salary.

They wanted me to do OP work (but I had applied for a different position).

-

I had actually already received the offer I considered ideal.

However, I still traveled north by train to attend the scheduled interview.

For one thing, I keep my word once I have agreed to something.

For another, interviewing with multiple companies helps me learn more about the responsibilities and salaries for the same position at different companies.

I do not believe that a company that treats job applicants this carelessly would treat its employees much better.

Pros

I really can't think of anything.

Cons

There is basically no training, probably because they are understaffed, so you are pushed into the role before you are ready. The colleagues there seem rather unfriendly; a few are nice, but very few. Department managers also form cliques, and if they take a dislike to you, they might even tell you to leave. Applying for position A and ending up in position B is just ridiculous!

I was in an OP position (Japan route).

1. The Japan route was insanely busy.

The senior colleagues had no time to train me because they were also extremely busy.

Then I was thrown straight into the job before I was ready.

I was expected to start working directly even though I still didn't know how to use the system.

2. The group controller or line controller for the Japan route was extremely harsh.

When I asked a senior colleague a question,

if he thought it was stupid, he would just laugh at me.

I was only a recent graduate, too.

(I was asking something like which order would be better for handling the work.)

3. If you made a mistake or issued a ticket incorrectly, you were directly reprimanded in the work group chat.

4. Some supervisors were pretty good, but there weren't many.

5. Cliques.

6. Some of the sales staff were nice.

They would help the OP department.

I’m very grateful that a senior sales employee helped me a lot at the time.

I remember he had a single-character given name.

Was it Luo Hao??

(No one in my department paid any attention; someone from another department stepped up to help.)

There are absolutely no advantages at all.

Cons

If you resign or transfer to another branch, your supervisor will completely abandon you. He will take back every favor he has shown you, stripping away layer after layer, so that you will not be able to take any of San Fu’s benefits with you <the key point is that even if you transfer to another branch, he will abandon you and turn his back on you>

The company has a lot of problems and many negative reviews. If a manager takes a dislike to you, they will talk about you behind your back and look for an opportunity to make you leave. New employees in particular can easily be disliked by a manager and be asked to leave as soon as their probationary period ends. The accounting staff have an extremely poor attitude. Really, don't go to this company and suffer.

The boss’s wife runs the company; basically, what she says goes. Whenever the boss’s wife coughs, the boss backs down.

The turnover is extremely high. The IT department basically takes orders directly from the boss’s wife. The computers are outdated, and sometimes employees have to pay out of pocket to buy their own computers.

Whenever an IT issue occurs, frontline employees are the first to take the fall. The company’s information security is very poor.

The boss’s wife often takes opportunities to launch personal attacks and set traps for her own employees. Her moods are unpredictable.

Of course, it’s not all bad. Once you’ve honed your skills, you can move on. Treating this company as a place to settle down and work for life is impossible.

Management is disorganized. Everything is done according to the boss’s wishes. Bonuses are paid whenever the boss feels like it, and withheld whenever they find a reason not to pay them. The turnover rate is extremely high.

Departments often recruit people with absolutely no experience, and HR assigns people randomly. For example, someone applies for Position A but is assigned to work in Department B instead.

The business department refuses to work on holidays without any reason, and no wages are paid.

Regardless of the department, the bonus calculation method is entirely determined by the boss. There are no clear goals for employees to work toward at all.

Pros

The chairman is someone who often contradicts himself when he speaks, leaving people confused. During training, he talks about being very open-minded and liberal, but when it comes to actually doing things, if they are not done according to his wishes, he strongly objects or demands corrections. Yes, he is indeed a senior and someone higher up in the hierarchy, but this way of doing things will discourage people with ambition or those willing to challenge themselves and try different approaches, and may even cause them to doubt themselves. He uses extreme tones and wording to let you know: “I would never let you do that,” “That’s just lousy,” “No one does things that way anymore,” and “What kind of crappy thing is that?” Similarly, some of the department heads in the travel-route divisions are birds of a feather, with rather rigid minds and little flexibility. And as the friend above mentioned, the company is very reluctant to provide resources and benefits to employees—it wants the horse to run well but not eat grass. The company’s products are mediocre: the routes go to many places, but none of them are covered with much depth. They are simply very traditional, unchanging travel products. It cannot be denied that they still have a stable market, but can they really keep relying on this same formula to get by everywhere? I have my doubts!

For job seekers who are mainly looking to gain work experience or use the company as a stepping stone, this is actually not a bad place in some respects~ There is a base salary~ Lots of annoying things~ And it is easy to encounter many jaw-dropping situations that help you grow~

An old company living off its glorious history.

In principle, the boss believes that the company’s reputation alone can attract a steady stream of customers, and tends to overlook marketing strategies and the allocation of resources.

Staff turnover is quite high, and the company does not seem very concerned about developing and retaining talent.

I left voluntarily after working there for just over a year, feeling that it was a company with little future to look forward to.
