Pros

Requires cross-departmental support and provides opportunities to develop skills in multiple areas.

Cons

The expected salary discussed during the interview differed from the actual offer, which was much lower. The salary structure here consists of base salary, perfect-attendance bonuses, production bonuses, and so on. Production bonuses can be high or low, with no consistent standard. In addition, salaries are adjusted once a year here; the last adjustment was less than 3% of the base salary. The benefits and compensation are not very competitive.

Pros

Very little overtime

Cons

Laboratory personnel and R&D personnel are categorically not recommended. If you dare to argue with upper management for additional staffing to meet the demands, or dare to question the section manager or supervisor, they will initiate the dismissal process to make you leave. It seems there have been similar cases in the past; this is not the first time.

What are people saying?

Cons

Guo Rongwen from Nan Pao even told me that if I wanted to eat, I should stop eating in the break room and eat in the restroom instead.

No one wants to work with him.

Cons

A newly arrived foreign worker worked with Ah-Hong on his first day. Afterward, he said that working with him was exhausting. The foreign worker did all the pulling of the buckets and said that Ah-Hong did not put in any effort. No one wants to work with him; those who lose at rock-paper-scissors reluctantly work with him.

Doesn't know how to teach

Cons

There's a guy named Ah-Hong who really loves talking about how many years he's been doing this, or how things were in the past. None of that has anything to do with me now! What a question mark?

He also really doesn't know how to teach people. I can't understand anything. If I make a mistake after being taught once or twice, he gets impatient. Then don't teach me—every time after he teaches me, I still have to ask someone else.

I also heard from other technicians that he was the one who insisted on teaching me.....I'm really out of luck...

Would Yunde collapse without Huang Wenxian??

Cons

You’re always saying that the factory would definitely collapse without you: it would definitely collapse, you know—it absolutely would.

Where do you get that confidence? The factory would improve a lot without you; everyone can really feel that.

Every time you say that everyone is looking for you, but didn’t you obtain most of those jobs by pursuing them yourself? You’re the deputy factory manager! If people aren’t looking for you, who else would they look for?

How can you be so self-important? Once you leave, do you really think people will still come looking for you…

Without you, the system would be much simpler, and the work wouldn’t be nearly as troublesome. Most importantly, there would be enormous room for improvement.

Seriously, don’t think you’re that important. The factory won’t stop operating without you; it definitely won’t collapse… sigh…

Wanting to improve but being powerless to do so

Cons

Nan Pao has asked us all to use scanners. It’s much more convenient, helps reduce errors, and means we don’t have to spend a lot of time entering things on the computer or worry about making mistakes when typing.

But the plant manager stubbornly refuses to improve and insists on doing things his own way. He insists on not using the scanner, then complains about it, saying that making entry mistakes is troublesome and that he has to deal with this and that…

Is it really a problem with the way we enter orders? Why don’t you admit that it’s because you refuse to improve…? It’s really difficult to get things done.

Garbage bins can't have garbage thrown into them because the garbage will stink.

Cons

In the office building, someone surnamed Yeh and someone surnamed Huang said that people aren't allowed to throw garbage into the garbage bins over there because the bins will stink…. Is the garbage bin in your home fragrant??

They also said that the warehouse staff all take their boxed meals back to the warehouse to eat. Why don't you take yours back and eat in your own department?

Where the warehouse staff take their meals to eat is none of anyone else's business. I really don't understand!

Some people also take their boxed meals home to eat. Why don't those of you in the office take yours home to eat? Do you have to eat at the company?

If you can't throw garbage into a garbage bin, what are you supposed to throw into it?

Can't food waste be thrown into the garbage bin?

Is the food waste thrown away by your office fragrant?

Is the food waste thrown away by other people smelly?

You even tell us not to throw garbage into the garbage bins, but to take it back and throw it away in our own department?

I can't think of any explanation besides selfishness and having something wrong with your heads.

Our old Huang is really impressive—he has managed to make the entire company dislike him.

Cons

Old Huang is very afraid that someone will take his position. He doesn’t dare tell the people on the front line about the company’s affairs, and he even tells the office staff not to tell the front-line employees what was discussed in meetings. He makes many decisions himself but says they came from the boss. In fact, everyone knows he’s bluffing. He also keeps telling us to think about the company, and even asks whether we can work overtime without being paid overtime.

I don’t want to waste electricity by making employees work in the sun.

Cons

Every day at work, we have to endure the entire factory being flooded with intense sunlight coming through the “skylights,” forcing everyone to work under the blazing sun.

We also have to endure the glaring light from the large metal doors being open all day, along with ultraviolet rays shining in from the sun.

We also have to endure finished products that are over 100 degrees being placed at the air intake all day, so employees can experience the heat of a steam room.

The factory is too dark, but they are reluctant to turn on the lights because it would waste electricity.

So they open the skylights and the large metal doors to let the blazing sunlight and ultraviolet rays shine in, allowing them to avoid turning on the lights and prevent wasting electricity.

The factory is already hot, yet they keep making employees work in the sun and letting the sunlight shine inside. It is truly glaring and extremely uncomfortable. The employees have already complained that it is really uncomfortable, but they still keep saying that turning on the lights would waste electricity.

The employees have already closed the large metal doors, which clearly shows that it is really hot and that they do not want to be constantly exposed to ultraviolet rays. It is also genuinely glaring and extremely, extremely uncomfortable.

The factory manager keeps opening the large metal doors. What exactly is the problem?

I don’t want to waste electricity by making employees work in the sun.

Cons

Every day at work, we have to endure the blazing sun shining into the entire factory through the “skylights,” making everyone work under direct sunlight.

We also have to endure the glaring light from the large metal doors being left open and the ultraviolet rays shining in from the sun all day.

We also have to endure finished products shipped at over 100 degrees being placed at the air intake, allowing employees to experience the heat of a steam room.

When it is too dark inside the factory, the lights still are not turned on because turning them on would “waste electricity,” and management is very reluctant to do so.

Therefore, the skylights are used and the large metal doors are opened to let the strong sunlight and ultraviolet rays shine in. That way, the lights do not have to be turned on and electricity is not wasted.

The factory is already hot, yet employees are continually made to sit in the sun, allowing sunlight to shine inside. It is truly glaring and uncomfortable. Employees have already reported that they are genuinely uncomfortable, but management still says that turning on the lights would waste electricity.

Employees have already closed the large metal doors, which means it is genuinely too hot and they do not want to be continually exposed to ultraviolet rays. It is also truly glaring and extremely uncomfortable.

Yet the factory manager keeps going over and opening the large metal doors. What exactly is the problem?

The boss has been replaced….

Cons

The handover will be completed in the first quarter of next year, and the top boss has been replaced.

The good thing is that there are now benefits and systems in place.

We won’t have to do those trivial tasks anymore.

Every morning, the team leader was made to recite passages to the adults as if they were kindergarten children, and a whole bunch of work was handled thoughtlessly, like children doing it…. So exhausting.

Pros

The advantage is that I was maliciously laid off.

Cons

This is the funniest joke I’ve heard since leaving the company: everyone in the company knows that the materials were sent to the wrong email address, and that the name written in black and white on the abnormal-signature list was Huang Zhiwei!

Moreover, everyone in the company knows that whenever anything happens, big or small, Huang Wenxian immediately goes to report it because there’s only one word for it: fear.

He even went to the site and told the people there that he had never mentioned them from beginning to end, and that he, Huang Wenxian, had taken responsibility alone…..

What a laugh……

The person least willing to take responsibility actually dared to say something like that…..

It really is a daily laugh.

000000000000

Cons

No matter which department makes a mistake, no one gets money deducted!

Yet when on-site personnel make a mistake, their pay gets deducted! How outrageous!

How exactly is this being managed? How can it be managed so unfairly?

Deducting employees’ pay to see whether their thinking will change!

What will definitely change is not a more conscientious attitude!

It is resentment toward the company, resentment toward the managers and supervisors, resentment toward the attitude toward work, and resentment in their mindset!

I have no idea how this is being managed! Absolutely terrible.

I heard that the network cable at the Rende Dafa Road Yunde on-site office was damaged. The issue was reported to management, who were asked to send someone to replace the network cable, but it has been delayed for three months with 0 progress.

Cons

Having a broken network cable is very inconvenient—we have to walk to another department to borrow a computer. It’s just one network cable, yet at first they said they had to check whether the break was at the front, middle, or back, or whatever. So troublesome???

May I ask, is the deputy plant manager the one checking it?

What does whether it’s troublesome or not have to do with you?

Later, we even found out that the boss actually asked employees whether their phone plans had unlimited data. If so, employees were told to use their own mobile data to connect to the company’s computers, and then there would be internet???

Then, no one came to replace the network cable even after three months simply because the boss didn’t want to spend the money on it!!!

Absolutely ridiculous.

I have to ask: does anyone actually care about running this company?

Pros

The boss is a mess.

Cons

They randomly deduct money. If something is done poorly or something goes wrong, the decision at the meeting is to deduct money, deduct money, deduct money.

Managers don't speak up for employees; they only say that this is the decision from above. When something happens to an employee, the manager doesn't take responsibility and instead makes the employee get money deducted too.

The manager assigns their work to the employee, but when something goes wrong, the manager doesn't take responsibility and instead says that they will both have money deducted.

How bad is this company, really? No wonder no one wants to strive at this company. They don't think about employees; they just stand there giving a thumbs-up.

Pros

It’s still unclear—I couldn’t make it through a month.

Cons

The manager who interviewed me was very dishonest. The production bonus affected the full salary of 30,000 that the manager initially offered me. During the interview, I was told that the production bonus was basically always 2,000–3,000, so my full salary would be 30,000. After joining, I asked the people there and found out that the production bonus was only 1,000–1,500. My full salary was pulled down completely, and the interviewing manager also knew that everyone’s production bonus was only 1,000–1,500! Why did he say 2,000–3,000 during my interview? The difference is way too big… Is the policy to lie whenever possible? I’ve already left. If you’re applying, think twice—the manager is a major problem.

Isn’t everything supposed to be transparent nowadays? And yet salary information is treated as a top secret that can’t be disclosed? I’m really dumbfounded.

Good suggestions cannot be used because the manager thinks they are being deliberately oppositional? How ridiculous.

Cons

Employees are being dismissed by the manager one by one!! Just because the manager does not know how to manage, the reactions and actions of all the employees lead someone who cannot manage to say that they are difficult to manage?

The owner does not even investigate the situation, but listens to a manager who cannot manage and lets the manager dismiss talented people one after another!

All the employees believe it is a management problem with the manager, but the manager is the only one who thinks it is everyone else’s problem!

And the owner is also being led by the nose, listening to the manager and dismissing talented people one by one. I really cannot understand whether the company belongs to the owner or that manager.

Just for criticizing it, someone was fired—this supervisor can't be used, right?!

Or is this the boss's doing?!

Cons

I've heard many people say that at this company, someone was apparently fired just for posting online about their work there…

What outrageous behavior…

Is this the supervisor's problem?

Or is it the boss's problem?

Is this a five-star company?

The internet is full of claims about benefits, that's true!! But why do so many people say they only get the basic three holiday bonuses and just one month's year-end bonus…..

Pros

The work atmosphere is very good. Everyone supports one another—we sweat and rest together. When there is something they do not know, the senior employees patiently teach them. There is no master-apprentice attitude; everyone is easy to get along with.

Cons

The air quality is very poor, especially considering that this is a chemical plant. There is no adequate ventilation system, and although many people have raised the issue, it has still not been improved. The entire plant is stuffy and filled with toxic chemical fumes and odors. The air does not circulate inside the plant, so basically, you are constantly breathing in chemical smells. After inhaling them for a while, you may feel dizzy or even vomit; prolonged exposure is genuinely harmful to your health.

There is essentially no concept of safety measures. Although many practices are known to potentially cause workplace injuries, they have not been reviewed or improved. The work inside the facility involves high temperatures: the high-temperature processes exceed 200°C, while even the low-temperature processes are around 100°C. Many senior employees have suffered splash burns, leaving large scars imprinted on their skin, yet the company has not reviewed how to make improvements to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Pros

I dreamt that:

Time off is handled the same way as for civil servants.

Even overtime is only one or two hours.

A starting salary of 30K is considered pretty good in southern Taiwan.

The year-end bonus is also roughly 1–1.5 months’ salary.

If you don’t have much of a goal in life,

you could stay here for the rest of your life

and be considered a quasi-civil servant.

Cons

I dreamt that:

The company was taken over by the second generation.

Everyone knows what rich second-generation heirs are like:

they’ve never suffered hardship and have no experience dealing with people.

They’re too idealistic and stingy in how they work.

The company actually makes huge profits,

but the year-end bonus never changes much.

Young people never stay for very long,

especially the on-site supervisors—

they’re standard-issue defenders of management

who never think about the employees.

They have odd personalities and expect you to put up with them while learning how to behave.

Some difficult people make you genuinely want to kill yourself when you run into them.

They nag you all day without their mouths ever getting tired.

There’s absolutely no onboarding process for new hires; they just leave you to fend for yourself.

When something goes wrong, they angrily say they already taught you.

Otherwise, they spend all day telling you to work faster.

But once you work quickly and finish everything, leaving nothing to do,

they ask why you’re always wandering around and slacking off.

Or there’s a rookie killer who keeps staring at you all day,

waiting for you to make a mistake so they can scold you instead of helping you.

Yes, I’m talking about the “Voyeur Bro.”

Anyway, the culture here is very strange:

no one trains new hires, everyone likes to act tough, nitpick, and nag.

The older employees think that working in a traditional industry means you should be left to fend for yourself.

Whether you show respect to your elders is up to you,

because that’s how they came up in the past.

Then they wonder why all the young people want to go work in the tech industry.

In short, the salary and benefits

are around the average level in southern Taiwan.

The annual compensation is roughly 13–14 months’ salary.

There’s plenty of leave, so you can take time off to your heart’s content.

People with good tempers can come and give it a try

to find out that even a saint’s patience has its limits.

Or people who are hard of hearing can come;

that way, you won’t have to keep listening to all the man-made noise.
