Pros

I don’t want to waste electricity by making employees work in the sun.

Cons

Every day at work, we have to endure the blazing sun shining into the entire factory through the “skylights,” making everyone work under direct sunlight.

We also have to endure the glaring light from the large metal doors being left open and the ultraviolet rays shining in from the sun all day.

We also have to endure finished products shipped at over 100 degrees being placed at the air intake, allowing employees to experience the heat of a steam room.

When it is too dark inside the factory, the lights still are not turned on because turning them on would “waste electricity,” and management is very reluctant to do so.

Therefore, the skylights are used and the large metal doors are opened to let the strong sunlight and ultraviolet rays shine in. That way, the lights do not have to be turned on and electricity is not wasted.

The factory is already hot, yet employees are continually made to sit in the sun, allowing sunlight to shine inside. It is truly glaring and uncomfortable. Employees have already reported that they are genuinely uncomfortable, but management still says that turning on the lights would waste electricity.

Employees have already closed the large metal doors, which means it is genuinely too hot and they do not want to be continually exposed to ultraviolet rays. It is also truly glaring and extremely uncomfortable.

Yet the factory manager keeps going over and opening the large metal doors. What exactly is the problem?
