Pros

-The interviewers had a positive attitude and were respectful overall.

-During the interview process, the managers were quite willing to discuss things. One or two managers showed little facial expression, but they were actually nice people.

-The office environment is open, so you can imagine that the future workplace will be quite comfortable.

-They asked quite detailed questions about the résumé. (This is subjective: candidates who are patient or experienced need not worry about being asked detailed questions.)

Cons

-After the final round, the decision on whether to make an offer may take a relatively long time. (The headhunter involved had also explained this in advance.) Job seekers may want to be mentally prepared.

-It is neither entirely a large corporate group nor entirely a startup, but somewhere in between these two types. This is also subjective; if you are seeking an extremely startup-like environment or a large corporate group, this could be a drawback.

-The company’s internal data-driven mindset does not yet seem fully mature, leaving room for improvement.

Pros

Before joining, you may want to consider the following:

1. The colleagues are very nice, and there is always someone you can ask for advice when you encounter problems.

2. The Employee Welfare Committee puts genuine effort into its work.

Cons

1. Overall, the company is not profitable. Some business units make money, but others are losing money terribly, and some seem to have no direction. They keep merging and consolidating things, but still cannot produce anything worthwhile. After all that effort, the result is the kind of thing that blows up during a demo.

2. One of the manager’s KPIs is how much money they help the company save, so there are requests to cut costs. However, the manager will use various ways to disguise these requests rather than directly telling you, “This is related to my KPI—we need to save money.”

3. At the 2024 year-end banquet, there were around 40 prizes, but nearly half of them (20) were pairs of VieShow movie tickets. It was more frustrating to win than not to win.

4. The promotion and compensation systems are not very transparent.

5. Some people have very little to do, while others are extremely busy.

Pros

The environment is pretty good, and transportation is fairly convenient.

Cons

The company seems not to have an HR department. The interviewer gave the first impression of being unprepared during the interview. Sure enough, throughout the conversation, the interviewer did not demonstrate the professionalism and caliber one would expect. As for the direction of development, they could not really explain it either, which made me feel that the prospects were rather bleak. Overall, it is a company with an unclear future and is extremely rude. In fact, it really is not worth wasting your time.

Subjective rating: It’s not just bad—it’s extremely bad!

Pros

For a Taiwanese company, it’s fairly decent. The company culture is relatively open, and the colleagues are all very nice.

Cons

The company culture is indeed very open, but in practice it still depends on how the managers of each department implement it.

There is a department responsible for what is considered a core product that I would not particularly recommend. In addition to the manager’s relatively traditional management approach, a culture of technical discussion is also not very prevalent. However, it still depends on the individual—some people might find it perfectly fine this way.

It seems that quite a few people transfer to other departments.

Pros

The department manager is very kind, and you can sense their level of expertise.

Cons

1. The age range is relatively older, making communication somewhat difficult.

2. The content discussed in the first and second interviews was contradictory.

3. After the first interview, the candidate was asked to prepare internal materials; however, the feedback from the second interview was completely unrelated to the content of the first interview.

It is recommended that the internal HR team confirm the department’s needs before communicating with candidates to avoid back-and-forth communication and wasted time.

Pros

First interview: The interviewer was very friendly. We discussed some technical topics, and I was given a take-home assignment to write two APIs: one to award points and one to use points. The UI was optional, and I was told to use my own judgment regarding other requirements.

Cons

They provided an unclear and extremely simple assignment description for the interviewee to complete at home, then responded about the candidate's performance on the assignment. The system, database, and API interfaces did not meet the standards. The evaluation criteria were completely unclear, so candidates should decide for themselves whether they want to spend time interviewing.

Pros

Quite a few people didn't receive performance bonuses this time.... People have continued to leave, both before and after the Lunar New Year... The chairperson of the employee welfare committee has already been replaced three times in a short period of time.. All the cheap milk and travel subsidies from before are gone.. At work, there's also an MIS person who can suddenly lose their temper and transform into a Super Saiyan at any moment.. At noon today, their combat power suddenly exploded and they angrily banged on the desk.. making a sound like an explosion throughout the entire office.. accompanied by an unrestrained stream of colorful profanity... This really is an unprecedentedly super-great work environment.. I'm sincerely not exaggerating.. If you get the chance, you absolutely have to come experience it... Super great..

Cons

Absolutely none.. Super great..

Pros

Benefits comparable to those of the Cathay Group

Annual salary guaranteed for 14 months

Cheap milk available in the vending machines

No matter how useless you are, they just won’t lay you off

I hear they’re moving upstairs to Breeze Xinyi

Cons

The current situation is extremely bizarre, with an atmosphere suggesting that the company may disappear

Unequal work distribution is the norm among norms; saving money is the most important KPI

Some people in the Administration Department do nothing while happily collecting their salaries

The Finance and Accounting Department frequently works overtime, but overtime is paid only for overtime worked at the beginning and end of the month

The ERP system is about to be replaced with its third system within two years......

The IT Department has to clean up the mess for other companies that have already been spun off, such as Rainforest New Retail

The head of the Customer Service Department has already caused the department to fall apart more than once

They have also been accused by different employees under them of handling matters unfairly, and have even faced mass resignations

Engineers in the Network Department are paid relatively little

Raises are very difficult to get; according to senior employees, after working for more than ten years, they received only an 8K raise

Pros

The HR representative and the manager were both very friendly and easy to talk to during the interview.

Cons

During the interview, the manager said I had been selected and expressed that they really hoped I would join. They even added me on LINE and explained some of the company’s unwritten rules… The basic salary included 14 months’ pay, along with information about the company’s future vision and so on! Afterwards, they sent me the materials required for onboarding via LINE and said that the approval document had already been submitted, but that the final notification would still be the deciding factor. They said I could start preparing the relevant documents, such as a health examination report (the NT$1,500 option was required), proof of resignation, documents showing the transfer out of labor and health insurance, a photocopy of my highest diploma, and so on...... to make the onboarding process faster later. I also confirmed with them whether I would really receive the notification, and they said everything was currently okay and there shouldn’t be any problems—usually there aren’t any problems!

When I asked about it later, they said the process was still underway and that there were no problems. Later, I also received a notification that the hiring approval was in progress. They said that, to speed up the approval process, I needed to provide the contact information of former colleagues or supervisors so they could conduct their checks. The next day, they quickly called my former supervisor, and they had a very pleasant conversation, so I thought the process was almost complete! Two days later, I asked that manager again, and they said they would follow up and that everything was still okay. For the next few days, I asked about the progress every day, and the answers were more or less the same. They also explained that their company’s process was really slow. But when I asked again the next day, they suddenly said, “Wait until today, and if you haven’t heard from us, don’t wait anymore!” I was completely stunned! They never explained what had happened. Later, they said the HR manager would call me and that everything had already been arranged, but I waited half a day and never received a call. HR did not reply to my messages either, and even that manager stopped answering calls and messages! It was not until the next morning that they called to apologize and said that, because of personnel changes, they were still adjusting how to allocate staff and were currently unable to arrange a position—not just for me. This was absurd. How can a large company open a job vacancy when it has not even figured out whether it can hire people?! Because the manager had been so confident, I turned down other job opportunities, and they never proactively kept me informed. Every time, I was the one who had to ask about the progress!

I hope anyone considering working for this company will not put too much faith in what its managers say. It is still best to rely on the formal notification, so you do not spend money and time preparing documents only to receive a single apology in the end!

Pros

A guaranteed annual salary equivalent to 14 months’ pay. Originally, one month’s salary was paid in January and another in July, but the plan is to move toward paying two months’ salary in January.

Access to Cathay Group resources and benefits.

Employee accommodation vouchers, day trips, and other benefit activities.

Bonuses for the three major festivals are shopping points that can only be used on the company’s shopping website.

Discounted beverage vending machines, with free coffee and cookies.

Very suitable for fresh graduates to gain workplace experience.

Cons

Staff turnover across departments is extremely high, and there are often inexplicable job reassignments.

For example, MIS staff may be transferred to procurement, while information security specialists may also be responsible for procurement.

People in brand-related departments were reassigned three times within six months. When this was raised with the general manager, the response was that anyone who wanted to remain in their original position would have to accept a demotion and a pay cut.

Cross-departmental cooperation is difficult, and there is infighting between departments with similar functions.

Within the same department, work allocation is uneven and chaotic: some people work regular hours, while others work excessive overtime.

There have even been rumors of exemplary employees working 21 consecutive days. It may be described as flexibility, but in reality there is simply no system.

Engineers in the Information Department, as well as PMs, planners, graphic designers, and others in the Product Department, often work overtime without being able to claim overtime pay.

Administrative staff can only submit overtime claims at the end of the month.

There are senior managers who do not do any work and spend the whole day drinking tea.

Pros

Left the company in February 2017.

The company claims to offer overtime pay exceeding the requirements of the Labor Standards Act, but even if you try to apply, you will be given a hard time and told that part of your bonus will be deducted.

Overtime is frequent. Even though there is a compensatory leave system, you can only apply for it after 8 p.m.

Arriving five minutes late is considered tardiness, but staying two hours past the end of the workday does not count as overtime.

The person in charge shows severe favoritism toward certain departments, and resources are always distributed unevenly.

The company claims to operate under a profit-center system, but the departments that make money always receive the fewest resources.

You can only hear the person in charge say that the department is always the strongest backbone at the year-end party or employee meetings.

The administration department is guaranteed to work overtime at the end of every month, without compensatory leave or overtime pay.

Managers even control employees’ personal vacation activities; married female colleagues may also be criticized for going out with coworkers.

The various IT programming departments work overtime almost every day, and staff turnover is high.

PMs in the warehousing, logistics, and product departments treat overtime as the norm, and staff turnover is also high.

Departments with similar functions have even been split into two, supposedly so they can cooperate and move forward together.

In reality, they compete viciously with each other to seize resources.

The engineering department is always expected to assist with other departments’ tasks.

The PM and sales teams are always understaffed.

Engineers take on PM responsibilities without receiving any additional compensation.

If you already have work experience, you will be able to see through this company and leave within the three-month probationary period.

For recent graduates, however, it can provide stable work experience before moving on to another job.
