Received an offer within 24 hours after the interview

Cons

Automotive electronics, Project Management Department

Unable to adapt to the company and manager’s culture

1. During every one-on-one with the manager, the manager calculates how much salary is being paid to me, making it seem that our department is not profitable at all.

2. Being impolite and being blunt are two different things. Adjusting one’s conversational attitude according to the person being addressed is intentional.

3. If you ask the manager one question, you may be asked 10 questions in return.

4. The first time I prepared a weekly report for a client, I reused the previous week’s template. The manager said the layout was very unattractive. Later, the manager shared another file layout, then said that was not what they wanted, and finally asked me to use yet another one before being satisfied. However, other people’s projects also used the first file.

5. The manager habitually belittles people who are not part of their inner circle. But if they are really that capable, why would they be so unhappy with an employee whose monthly salary is only 70,000?

6. The company claims to offer flexible working hours, but meetings at 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. are the norm.

7. After joining, I discussed the manager’s leadership culture privately with colleagues, and everyone strongly identified with my experience. Yet this manager was still recognized as an outstanding employee. I strongly disagree with this and cannot adapt to the company’s management culture. I hope those who join later can adapt well to this manager’s style. There is only one PM in the North America department with more than one year of tenure.

People who enjoy being lectured by old men can go interview there.

Cons

I recently had a video interview with this company. As soon as the HR representative saw me, they asked, “What happened to your hair?” I was extremely confused. I know I have naturally curly hair—the kind that even strangers ask about—but they were the rudest person I’ve ever encountered 🤗 Then they asked me to introduce myself. After I finished, they launched into a thirty-minute lecture??? They started talking about their past accomplishments??? Thinking about it now, it feels absurd. Pathetic old Taiwanese man.

Reasons for not recommending the Test Fixture Design Department and the company

1. I joined the Information Department in mid-November, but the department would not issue me a work laptop until January. For a place that claims to be one of Taiwan’s “Big Five” electronics companies, it was surprisingly inconsiderate toward new employees.

2. The department supervisor, Mr. Cheng, made me very uncomfortable with his management and communication style. Even more outrageous, after I resigned and blocked him everywhere, he still called my mobile phone to ask about work progress and to show his hypocritical concern.

3. Some of the testing environments in the workplace are very loud, with high noise levels.

These two months of my career were completely meaningless, and the company left me feeling terrible. In particular, without a work laptop, I could not report overtime or check my salary details. No matter how good the company becomes in the future, I will not consider it again.

When new employees join the production line, no one trains them, so they have to figure things out on their own. Supervisors generally don't have much time to manage you, so you need to build good relationships with senior colleagues.

1. The HR service is absolutely terrible. Compared with the several companies I interviewed with, they had the worst attitude. I have no idea what they were acting so arrogant about 🤔

2. There is no need for the company to conduct interview surveys either. HR cannot even properly represent the company. Don’t waste job applicants’ time by asking them to fill out opinions and feedback forms. You can tell how good or bad this company is just by looking at HR.

Pros

Receiving an interview invitation feels very formal.

Cons

Is HR trying to hit their KPI at the end of the year?

Don’t be like KLA HR—after sending an interview invitation at the end of the year, they arranged a time for a follow-up, but once the time was confirmed, they became impossible to reach.

This is a good company. The attitude you bring will be noticed by others. Self-directed learning is important; you don’t need to place all your dependence on your supervisor. Have confidence in yourself and trust that you can do things well. Ask questions immediately if you are unsure. If your supervisor does not respond or show respect, don’t be afraid—you can raise the issue with the section manager.

Cons

Rather than hiring new temporary workers, it would be better to retain the temporary workers who are capable and useful.

Pros

Writing about the absurd things that happened during the interview, mainly regarding the Taoyuan location.

Although this is a large company with an extensive interview process, the details are basically not made public.

At one point they claimed that the current interview process consisted of two rounds, but after a while it could change to a different number of rounds.

The key issue is that HR is often slacking off and unreachable. The R&D manager and HR frequently lie to each other and pass the buck recklessly.

This is a company where people have it very easy. The company offers flexibility, but the managers and HR are slacking off—it is incredibly absurd.

They talk about all sorts of lofty principles, yet they have problems with even the most basic integrity. They also worry about whether the employees they hire will be unable to cooperate with political maneuvering and putting on an act. It is truly absurd.

However, some of the R&D engineers are good. You can see differences in their ability during the technical interviews, which is a positive thing.

Unfortunately, the HR and R&D managers at this company are, on one hand, unbelievably lax, while on the other hand caring only about political scheming and causing trouble.

This is simply not a place where engineers should waste their lives.

It is a pity that although there are good engineers here, there is no competent HR, no competent middle management, and no competent senior management.

Cons

Although political infighting is clearly the top priority, they claim to put people first while completely disregarding professionalism.

They only waste the flexibility provided by the system on flexible working hours, while the people responsible for managing others are the most irresponsible and undisciplined group of all.

1. The production line supervisor is completely incapable of teaching. They expect people to know how to read the work instructions as soon as they arrive. When I wanted to ask whether I was doing it correctly, they told me to stop bothering them!

What kind of supervisor is this? Do they think we can all read minds and know how to do everything correctly without being taught first, or what?!

2. They require everyone to be at the production line by 7:50 for a meeting. What the hell is the point of this morning meeting? Important matters are never discussed. The first time someone makes a mistake after the line starts, they get harshly berated, and then the supervisor claims they clearly mentioned it many times before?????! (Black-guy shrug meme)

3. The company’s training for dispatched workers is extremely, extremely, extremely inadequate.

At each station, you work for a few minutes before being called away to provide support somewhere else. Every time you just become familiar with one task, you are switched to something different again.

Then, whenever the supervisor gets some idea in their head, they send you back to a station you worked at a long time ago. When you tell them you have somewhat forgotten how to do it, they still yell at you and berate you!!!!

Basically, it is a production line supervisor who comes to work full of emotion and has absolutely no patience, while managing foreign workers and dispatched staff.

No wonder the entire production line is becoming less and less able to retain people.

It's great without Pan Wenbin.

Cons

After leaving the company and joining his new employer, Xilei Technology, former employee Pan Wenbin constantly criticized Inventec, saying that Inventec was an old-folks' group.

Then a supervisor told Pan Wenbin that it made no difference whether he was there or not.

Pan Wenbin became very angry and urged other employees to change jobs and resign.

But in reality, it truly makes no difference without him.

At Xilei Technology, he has made no significant contributions at all.

He desperately threatens other people into helping him; otherwise, he says he will retaliate, smear them, and make reports about them to their supervisors.

He also brought Inventec documents to Xilei Technology and pretended that they represented his own expertise.

Now Pan Wenbin has built himself another image—that of an upright person who smears others:

a prince who protects others,

smearing colleagues as sexual predators,

and then claiming to protect all the women in the company.

Perhaps previously he spent a lot of money climbing mountains to pursue girls but failed to win them over.

The girl simply treated him like a fool and toyed with him.

He really has the potential to be a jerk.

The interviewer’s attitude was fairly normal. The annual salary is guaranteed at 1.5 million, the company provides free meals, and it feels like a rather laid-back company.

Cons

The description of the job responsibilities was vague and imprecise. Also, since this position was opened because someone had just resigned, it felt pretty concerning. Otherwise, the overall interview experience felt okay.

The biggest advantage is probably that the security guard was super friendly...

Other than that, nothing else (awkward)

Cons

I clearly applied for a procurement position, but only found out on the day of the interview that it was for a procurement assistant position.

The department head seemed very decisive and forceful, and spoke very quickly and sharply.

Overall, the interview experience was very bad. It was a huge waste of my time. HR should have screened this beforehand.

The only advantage worth mentioning is flexible working hours, but the R&D unit basically never gets a chance to use them, and overtime hours reset to zero at the end of the month...

Cons

The company is constantly cutting costs. I recommend that newcomers not join. This company only wants entry-level employees who will work tirelessly without caring about money, and its system is simply to let customers demand whatever they want. Seriously, don't waste your time here, and don't be fooled by the reputation of a large company.....

Pros

No uniform required at work

The “Shilin Night Market” is nearby

Fixed “120 days of business trips to China per year,” “Monday to Saturday, 12 hours of work per day”; days off on holidays; “no business-trip allowance and no overtime pay under the responsibility-based system”

Suitable for people with no more than two years of relevant work experience to gain experience. Those who can work independently do not need to go; they make grand promises to you, first tricking you into handing over your process know-how

Those with a TOEIC score of 550 or above are exempt from the English test

Does this count as an advantage?? I couldn’t seem to find any others

Cons

Responsibility-based system; no overtime pay for overtime work

Guaranteed 12 months of annual salary; year-end bonuses and profit sharing are not necessarily provided (for details, refer to the company’s annual EPS and Yahoo stock price)

In any case, the company simply designs for foreign companies

Project experience is a plus. The salary calculated for 10 years of work experience is approximately NT$55K–60K; you are required to lead people and teach the technology to newcomers

The interview is divided into three sessions: 09:30, 13:30, and 15:00 https://prnt.sc/omu2yj

Does the company conduct layoffs every year as a fixed practice?? Quite a few former colleagues were maliciously laid off by the company. This time, I went to experience it personally

Too much negative news (if you want to know more, Google it yourself)

Just listen to what the interviewing manager and HR say. If you believe them, it means you have spent too little time in the workplace and still lack the ability to handle your own salary

Interview process: English test (listening and reading, modeled after TOEIC) & logic test & manager interview

Before the interview, they will ask for your “year/month/day of birth” & “ID number” so HR can enter them into the company system

They will then ask you to provide your salary at your previous company, work-content know-how, and why you left your previous company—what the reason was

Finally, there is a Google motivation test. It basically tests whether you are obedient enough. It is roughly about power & money; in any case, just don’t choose money. It can reveal whether you are someone who places a great deal of importance on money

https://prnt.sc/omu4ht

HR’s work is basically to find people for managers to interview and collect the monthly salaries and benefits for equivalent positions at other companies; otherwise, how can HR create profits for the company?? Isn’t it simply about finding people who are cheap, useful, and won’t resign?

Before the interview, I reconfirmed whether the manager had reviewed my résumé in advance. HR said yes, but during the interview, the manager examined it bit by bit, clearly showing that they had not looked at it beforehand at all. It felt like HR was simply “shooting blindly,” and it was obvious that HR was accustomed to lying. After all, the person who first spoke with me by phone was HR, not the manager. Otherwise, the entire company has been lying from beginning to end, and lying has become part of the company culture

Close to the night market

Cons

They call it flexible working hours, but in reality they use it to avoid paying overtime. The flexible working-hours arrangement is barely used more than a few times a month—two times at most. Overtime is routine: sometimes until eight or nine at night, and sometimes until eleven or twelve. Supervisors like to assign work in group chats regardless of whether it is during working hours, after hours, or on holidays. There is no dinner provided for overtime, so employees have to pay out of pocket to buy dinner. The late-night snacks are nowhere near enough to fill you up. I suggest looking for other ODM companies with better benefits.

Pros

1. The company is fairly large, which will look better on a résumé.

2. Its vision is presented as beautiful and grand; those with ambition can grow together with the company.

Cons

The company's HR department “proactively” invited me to interview for an internal A position. After I took time off from my former job to attend the interview, the interviewing manager said they did not need someone for the A internal position; they only needed someone for the B sales position, which requires frequent business trips. The two positions are vastly different in terms of responsibilities—this was simply a waste of everyone's time!

This highlights that:

1. The HR department did not clarify what kind of person the department manager needed.

2. The HR department may have just wanted to get the task over with.

3. The department manager had not reviewed the applicant's information before the interview.

4. There are communication problems within the company.

To anyone planning to interview with this company: be sure to clarify the job responsibilities beforehand, so you do not waste your valuable time—or have to take time off and lose pay!

They say the working hours are flexible, but everyone works at least 200 hours a month.

Coming in after 10 a.m. and leaving at midnight is perfectly normal.

There is neither overtime pay nor compensatory leave. It’s as bad as it gets.

If you leave work around 7 p.m., which they consider too early, the department director will come and give you a hard time, telling you to work overtime on weekends.

There is no onboarding training. After leaving you to fend for yourself for a week, they expect you to start working independently.

They always say you have written too few test cases. (If new hires aren’t taught how to do it, how are they supposed to? I’m completely baffled.)

They keep dumping cases on you and expect you to work yourself to death—that’s the whole idea.

A large company, so the benefits are probably better than those at small companies, right?

The HR representative was very kind and explained everything clearly.

Cons

A few years ago, the interview included a bunch of memorization questions. Looking back now, they were all useless bits of knowledge that have become part of history.

It was only during the department interview that I found out it was a contract position. The pay was average, yet they expected someone who could hit the ground running. New graduates would be mocked.

The work environment is pretty good, and the benefits are generous.

That said, this assumes "you are applying for a full-time position."

This company has too many openings for contract positions; even when they need people, they do not offer full-time positions.

If the role is not in R&D, the salary may be a little low.

However! Compared with other technology companies, it is considerably more fair-minded.

Be careful—there are a few departments with terrible positions...

The problems are entirely caused by the management, rather than by the company itself.

Before applying, I suggest asking around to see whether anyone you know is familiar with the situation.

Commonly known as a “retirement home for the technology industry.”
