Automotive electronics, Project Management Department
Unable to adapt to the company and manager’s culture
1. During every one-on-one with the manager, the manager calculates how much salary is being paid to me, making it seem that our department is not profitable at all.
2. Being impolite and being blunt are two different things. Adjusting one’s conversational attitude according to the person being addressed is intentional.
3. If you ask the manager one question, you may be asked 10 questions in return.
4. The first time I prepared a weekly report for a client, I reused the previous week’s template. The manager said the layout was very unattractive. Later, the manager shared another file layout, then said that was not what they wanted, and finally asked me to use yet another one before being satisfied. However, other people’s projects also used the first file.
5. The manager habitually belittles people who are not part of their inner circle. But if they are really that capable, why would they be so unhappy with an employee whose monthly salary is only 70,000?
6. The company claims to offer flexible working hours, but meetings at 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. are the norm.
7. After joining, I discussed the manager’s leadership culture privately with colleagues, and everyone strongly identified with my experience. Yet this manager was still recognized as an outstanding employee. I strongly disagree with this and cannot adapt to the company’s management culture. I hope those who join later can adapt well to this manager’s style. There is only one PM in the North America department with more than one year of tenure.
