Pros

Work is very boring and relaxed

Cons

They have now launched a new brand, 氣候美研TDB

The part-time employee there is the daughter of the owner's family, so don't upset her under any circumstances.

Otherwise, you'd better change jobs quickly.

Pros

Push the limits

Cons

1. Low annual salary, with no overtime pay; when converted to an hourly rate, it makes you feel cheaper than working at a convenience store.

2. Managers are replaced more frequently than phones, and the business strategy is constantly shifting.

3. The senior IT executive only talks in vague generalities. Everyone knows he does not take anyone seriously; only the general manager's assignments need to be handled with care.

4. When problems arise, senior executives only know how to talk and are exceptionally skilled at shifting responsibility. Somehow, every mistake is always the subordinates' fault.

5. The marketing manager constantly clashes with people internally, causing widespread resentment immediately after taking office...

6. Every day is filled with endless meetings and presentations. To put it nicely, it's mentally stimulating; in reality, there is no strategy or original thinking whatsoever.

7. They say there is a salary adjustment every year, but pay is still below average, and the increase is pitifully small. Even excellent performance makes no difference.

9. Here, every employee is exceptionally good at avoiding trouble and shirking responsibility. Those who work hard and take things seriously are destined only to work themselves to exhaustion.

10. The year-end performance review is extremely unprofessional. There are no truly capable professionals here—just plenty of actors.

The root of everything is that this is a family business with no professionalism whatsoever. You will not learn anything here, so you should really think twice.

Pros

There probably aren't any.

Cons

After resigning, I can finally write this.

The air of freedom of speech smells so good.

Otherwise, I heard that IT secretly investigates who said what,

and then reports it to the princess, followed by discussing with the HR dogs how to mess with you~ intimidate you~ how terrifying~

So that's what having so many people in one IT department is for.

The IT manager thinks he is very impressive and really loves looking down on people.

The princess's favorite, and also as loyal and cute as a dog.

What an achievement~ The IT manager at Qismei is so busy.

The vice president, meanwhile, is a master of pretending to be busy. I really admire his ability to manage upward!

The few employees the princess likes most that I encountered here were all men. They were very scheming and disgusting—I was so afraid I almost developed PDST.

If you find life boring and want some drama, you can really come here and open your eyes.

Pros

You won’t encounter anything worse.

Cons

There is an early-morning meeting every Monday.

They recite workplace ethics like some strange religion. You can’t skip it, but there is no ethics here… The company tells employees to lie and deceive people…

The general manager is highly emotional, full of prejudice, and fond of labeling people.

My experience here left me shocked.

How could such an absurd group of people be running a company?

It’s merely an agency. The work really didn’t need to be made so complicated, and its annual revenue is only so-so.

Why make such a huge fuss and go to such lengths, acting as if you’re so impressive, when in reality you can’t even see the taillights of other brands’ cars, okay?

It’s nothing more than meaninglessly draining the employees.

I really hate this company.

The most disgusting schemers I’ve ever encountered in my life have all gathered here… They even go to every length to frame you and leave a stain on your life. It’s an evil place; I was almost driven mentally ill…

If you don’t want to leave a stain and a nightmare in your life, don’t even consider this place.

Your life is still beautiful.

As a Junior

Develop your tolerance for the workplace

Develop crisis-management skills

Develop self-learning abilities

Develop the ability to read your supervisor’s emotions

As a Senior

Find somewhere else. No comment.

Cons

Strictly speaking, the problem is the people.

The actual difficulty of the work is not that high.

The following is based on a single case.

Not all supervisors are like this.

A senior executive took over less than a year ago, and four people under them have already resigned.

On average, one person resigns every two months.

Indecisive in making decisions,

with major changes based on their emotions,

and unable to offer substantive suggestions.

Many decisions are made purely by intuition.

A proposal that is approved today may be completely overturned tomorrow.

After a proposal is confirmed, if problems arise later,

they will directly shirk responsibility, publicly criticize and shame you, and speak ill of you behind your back.

Their thinking regarding integrated planning and scheduling needs reconsideration.

Whenever a project or collaboration opportunity comes along, they accept it without hesitation,

then cram it into the promotional campaign for the new products being pushed that period.

They do not consider the schedule, workload, or overall effectiveness of each individual collaboration, resulting in a highly chaotic work sequence and schedule. The division of responsibilities is also extremely unclear, and the work content may be swapped out at any time. The supervisor personally contacts all points of contact, but the communication content and information are not synchronized. Those carrying out the work cannot see the overall project progress or the actual details of the discussions.

The supervisor is extremely forgetful. For matters they have not handled personally, they will directly push them onto you and make you take the blame. Their way of speaking and personal conduct are also highly questionable. If you want to experience workplace bullying and emotional blackmail, come and give it a try.

I had never had a book thrown at me in my life, but I experienced it here: )

They enjoy lecturing at length about the shortcomings and faults of various people in the company. Sometimes, even when work is busy, you need to set it aside to help them relieve their emotions, because being in a bad mood affects their work decisions (as described in the first point).

This is also why I mentioned earlier:

As a senior, find somewhere else better.

As a junior, if you really have no other choice, come here.

God bless you on a wonderful journey.

The HR manager is very unpleasant (although this is a personal impression, anyone who has been there will know)

Asks some very personal questions

Vague and unclear when it comes to salary

Extremely low salary level

The benefits are also very poor: no holiday bonuses, health checkups only once every two years, and no benefits at all.

This company really feels stingy in every way

The company is very old and has not been renovated in a long time

After the interview, I completely lost interest in working there

Pros

Chatting and pushing work

Cons

The best thing about this company is definitely the Planning Department. Joining this department is practically like becoming the boss—the “princess” mentioned above can’t even compare with this department! When the air conditioning breaks, they immediately publicly criticize HR, and even threaten to expose Apple! A LINE project would normally be launched within a week at an ordinary company, but the person responsible dragged it out for half a year, and when it finally launched, it only had the basic screens… There has been no follow-up response. The princess is so great that nobody holds her accountable? Is this department too comfortable? The top person in the Planning Department spends all day thinking about recording machines and only knows how to flatter; whenever there’s a problem, they push it onto others, are very good at making excuses, and are unprofessional… They don’t understand anything Watsons Procurement needs. If you apply for a position in Planning, you definitely won’t be wrong—you’ll have it easy. The thing this department says most often is: “As long as I’m happy!”

???

Cons

1. Company working hours

Flexible working hours—many people have mentioned this.

Start time: 08:30–09:30

End time: 17:30–18:30

The company once announced that it would start turning off the air conditioning at 17:30.

2. Leave policy—the company does everything it can to prevent employees from gaining any advantage

Although it sounds nice to have one hour of flexible working time, if you want to take leave, you must start counting it from 8:30 a.m., regardless of whether it is personal leave, annual leave, sick leave, or lateness.

If you take leave that day, you cannot apply for overtime, make-up work, or anything else.

But of course, you were not actually allowed to apply for overtime in the first place, because the princess will get angry.

Annual leave is provided according to the Labor Standards Act, at the minimum number of days.

Depending on the princess’s mood, the company may require employees not to work on make-up workdays, while deducting one day of leave or withholding one day’s pay.

On typhoon days, if you do not work, one day of leave is deducted or one day’s pay is withheld.

If the employee trip lasts two days, one day of leave is deducted or one day’s pay is withheld.

If the employee trip lasts one day, you must assemble earlier than your normal work time, and they take you shopping, out to eat, and to buy local specialties through the travel agency before sending you home—roughly the itinerary.

The minimum amount of leave is two hours. If you arrive at 9:32 a.m., your leave period is 8:30–10:30.

The leave system is closed every week, meaning they simply do not let you apply for leave anymore!

3. Company supervisors? They are all merely nominal—the department heads for all employees are the princess

This company has four divisions. The head of one division is the princess, and the division’s responsibilities cover everything under the sun, including human resources, general affairs, finance, IT, procurement, and customer service. However, the princess’s actual specialty is product development; this can be found through an online search.

The princess wants everything reported to her, regardless of how big or small it is. I mean really small things—even something like replacing a toilet seat at the company requires asking her for approval.

If you think having the princess serve as the department head is an expression of being close to the people, you are completely mistaken, because the princess asks many questions that leave employees speechless, without realizing it herself.

An example of such a speechless moment would be asking an employee giving a presentation: “Was this task completed by X alone? Was X able to complete this task because she is pretty?”

Or suppose a task has five stages, and it has already reached the fourth stage very successfully. The princess asks: “Did you do XX in the first stage? You didn’t? Start over from the first stage.”

4. Kishimei is very popular with retirees returning to work

The princess has about six supervisors under her, two of whom are old—in terms of age, not because they have deep seniority at this company.

This company really likes employing retirees, hiring them to use knowledge and skills that many people consider outdated. Writing this out makes me realize that perhaps this is why the company has remained stuck in place, or even moved backward.

There are also employees who worked at Kishimei for a long time, retired, and were then rehired. The princess likes this employee very much, but the other employees do not. The reason is not competition for favor; it is that this employee is very good at pushing work onto others. Even if the employee says, “That’s not my job,” nothing happens.

5. Organizational changes far exceed industry standards

Over the past five years, the average has been approximately 1.5 to 2 changes per year. You have not even become familiar with the work before being transferred again, and then they ask, “What’s going on? Isn’t this your job? Why aren’t you familiar with it?”

6. Taking shameless advantage of people

The latest organizational change was layoffs. H Department’s way of doing things was to lay off employees first and then ask other departments to take over the work. Some of it should have gone to F Department and some to H Department, but both F and H refused to accept it. So H Department told an employee from S Department who was laid off at the end of June: “Since the handover isn’t finished, could you work for one more month?”—extending the layoff until the end of July.

However, because H Department can reliably carry out practices such as underreporting XX and requiring employees to work on national holidays without paying double wages, it is still heavily relied upon. In fact, H Department is also an accomplice. That is clearly evidence of a crime, isn’t it?

7. You have to swipe your card both when entering and leaving

This was my first time encountering a small company where you have to swipe your card both in and out. Swiping when entering is fairly common, but also having to swipe when leaving—the company has a very strong desire for control.

8. Small-company mentality

In every respect, the way this company operates reflects a small-company mentality—or else the mentality of a company from 50 years ago—in other words, employees are treated like dirt.

If the princess tries to bluff you by saying that the company is a large company in terms of headcount, funding, and scale, perhaps that is true. But all the employees inside feel that this is how a small company operates.

If the princess says she is generous and always wants to improve employee benefits, all I can say is: don’t listen to what the boss tells you; if you do, you lose.

9. The company is not large, but it has an enormous number of procedures

For the past three or four years, the company has been working on BPR and saying that it wants to simplify processes. The idea is good, but in practice things have become increasingly complicated, chaotic, and full of procedures. Much of this is because the princess is up in the clouds. This does not mean the princess has died; it means her ideas are up in the clouds and cannot be implemented. The reason they cannot be implemented is not that employees refuse to carry them out, but that they are vague and unrealistic.

10. Frequently doing pointless work

Pointless work happens very often at this company. They lay off the driver, then immediately realize that they cannot function without a driver and open a vacancy to hire one. They lay off the employees in Taoyuan, then immediately ask employees from Taipei to go to Taoyuan to help.

11. A meeting early every Monday morning

Many people have mentioned this meeting. The company distributes a small booklet produced by the “Asia Taiwan Corporate Ethics Promotion Association.” It contains many short stories, such as “Remember to bring an umbrella during the plum rain season; this demonstrates planning.” Stories of roughly that kind. Every week, employees have to read one story and then share their personal reflections. The princess also shares her reflections. Every employee has to stand; this week, it seemed we stood for half an hour before it ended.

12. Members of the Asia Taiwan Corporate Ethics Promotion Association who are unethical

Ironically, a member of the Asia Taiwan Corporate Ethics Promotion Association committed an illegal workplace-ethics violation. The entire company already knows about it unofficially.

13. Besides saving paper, they also save electricity

In addition to saving paper and putting up slogans discouraging employees from using it, the company still makes you sweat even when the air conditioning is on inside the office.

KISSME Core Competencies

1. Integrity

This is truly the biggest, biggest, biggest irony. Every single thing they do is C O M P L E T E L Y dishonest and lacking in integrity!

Perhaps it is true that no merchant can be successful without being unscrupulous. They fully embody the conduct of a “fine” businessperson: their ethics are extremely poor. They have underreported employees’ labor pension contributions for years; only if you confront them will they pay you what they owe, and the amount is no small sum! There is no overtime pay, and unused compensatory leave automatically disappears after two months. Previously, they asked everyone to take unpaid leave, then laid people off without reporting it to the government. After the layoffs, they started recruiting again. It is reasonable to suspect that they wanted to use the government’s youth employment subsidies—because I heard some very classless companies plan to do this. Just kidding: if you’re over 29, don’t bother submitting a résumé~ In short, the KPI of H unit is: the more they exploit employees, the better!

The benefits are unbelievably terrible. The factual descriptions in the previous posts were already very clear; basically, they keep showing just how low they can go. There are far too many unfair and unjust things.

2. Adaptability

The biggest reason things keep changing is that princess (it is reasonable to suspect that she needs to see a psychiatrist).

After the layoffs and organizational restructuring, she still quizzes everyone during weekly meetings about their views on the company’s changes, forcing everyone to say things against their conscience: “The company is so great! The princess is so wise!” Her glass heart breaks, and she even forces other people to comfort her?

3. Cross-team collaboration

The support departments at this company do not help everyone. They constantly undermine people and act as stumbling blocks. Pushing problems onto others and reporting people to expose minor faults are what they do best (Uh, isn’t that the H department!!!)

4. Execution

Does such a thing even exist here? All I see is everyone circling around that princess and spinning in place! The instructions are unclear, they keep changing, and there is absolutely no improvement. She is the only one enjoying herself!

Finally, before joining, I also thought that since Tianyancha had so many negative reviews, they were probably biased opinions from former employees, so I did not pay much attention. But after joining, I discovered that what the predecessors at Tianyancha wrote really came from a sense of justice and empathy—it was completely fair and unbiased! So anyone considering joining should really think carefully, because every second of your career is precious. A good company helps you build valuable learning and experience so that you can keep improving! So please think carefully about what a good job means to you. But if you plan to become pregnant and do not care whether your salary is enough to raise a child (I’m just making that up for those under 29), this place is extremely suitable for you.

As long as you satisfy one person, you can gain the whole world

Cons

To gain the whole world, you have to leave one person

It is strongly recommended that you apply to Department H.

That department really is a cushy job: there’s nothing to do, and there are lots of people!

Moreover, the head of Department H is truly outstanding:

Number one at taking advantage of employees

Number one at pushing work onto others and taking the credit

Number one at snatching food and giveaways

Number one at treating trivial authority as a powerful mandate

Number one in the administrative department in terms of headcount

Number one for having the lightest workload

Number one at talking a good game

Number one at making interviewees wait

Number one for having the least integrity and honesty

Number one for being the slowest to adapt and respond

Recommendation~~~~

Don’t take things too seriously, because a sincere heart will never beat a mouth that knows how to bluff!

Ethics 7-ACT

Greeting: Reveals a person’s character; do not hesitate, and use a bright, clear voice.

Responding: A sign of goodwill—when asked something, always answer.

Awareness of matters: Do not delay; take action immediately.

Seizing the initiative: Prepare in advance and commit wholeheartedly.

Standing tall and pulling in the abdomen: Good posture is the first step to maintaining energy.

Teamwork: Follow order and cultivate a spirit of mutual assistance.

Organizing belongings: It means making a fresh start, tidying up the aftermath with gratitude.

Cons

One day I dreamed that...

Every Monday, we have to stand there shouting “Ethics 7-ACT” and reciting a short story from “Workplace Etiquette.”

Does anyone actually practice these principles? Is it because people know they cannot do it, so they need to recite them every week?

“Ethics 7-ACT”

1. Greeting: Reveals a person’s character; do not hesitate, and use a bright, clear voice.

There are many people in the company who do not even smile when they see someone, as if they were so important—let alone greet them. (Are you kidding me?)

2. Responding: A sign of goodwill—when asked something, always answer.

People in the company who have bad attitudes still treat others with bad attitudes. Is there absolutely no goodwill? (Are you kidding me?)

3. Awareness of matters: Do not delay; take action immediately.

The company does this one very well: as soon as the pandemic arrived, it immediately laid people off and reorganized. Its execution was impressive. Then, a month later, it expanded the organization??? I often see certain departments chatting very loudly, yet that department had no layoffs at all?? (Are you kidding me?)

4. Seizing the initiative: Prepare in advance and commit wholeheartedly.

The things prepared in advance still ended in a complete disaster. Did everything have to be redone from scratch?? (Are you kidding me?)

4. Standing tall and pulling in the abdomen: Good posture is the first step to maintaining energy.

All my energy has already been drained by the company. How am I supposed to maintain it?? (Are you kidding me?)

6. Teamwork: Follow order and cultivate a spirit of mutual assistance.

There are plenty of selfish people. Everyone is terrified of having the responsibility fall on them, so they are all extremely good at passing the buck. Teamwork?? How come it is completely nowhere to be seen at KISS ME?? (Are you kidding me?)

7. Organizing belongings: It means making a fresh start, tidying up the aftermath with gratitude.

The general manager even said that although excellent employees had left (those who were laid off), we could still be friends!! So are we also supposed to be grateful to the company for laying people off?? (Are you kidding me?)

Pros

None

The colleagues are easy to get along with, and transportation is convenient.

Cons

The core competencies at KissMe are probably familiar to everyone who has read the previous posts on this forum, so here are a few more examples.

1. Integrity and honesty

As one of the standards by which the company evaluates employees, the first item is certainly important!

The general manager once publicly said: “Integrity and honesty depend on the circumstances; people who are always honest and upright are simply too foolish!”

Therefore, it is apparently quite reasonable for the company to violate the Labor Standards Act by underreporting employees’ retirement contributions.

2. Adaptability

When facing change, accept it and focus on the positive aspects!

1. The personnel organization chart is always announced the day before changes take effect, because by the next day there may be two or more versions. Such an important matter must be carried out only after thorough consideration!

(Anyway, employees can be transferred wherever the company wants; no respect for professional expertise, because the bosses know everything best.)

2. After layoffs, because no department was willing to take over the work of the dismissed employee, the poor employee was asked to postpone being “laid off” for another month to complete the handover. A two-month dismissal notice period—what a benevolent company.

3. At a weekly morning meeting, the general manager specifically asked employees affected by personnel changes to share their thoughts on “adaptability.” Was he hoping everyone would eagerly raise their hands to thank the company?

3. Cross-team collaboration

1. The KISS pop-up counter event at the beginning of the year was the ultimate demonstration of this core competency!

Too expensive? No problem—just mobilize the entire company and take turns staffing the counter!

Finance, IT, and Sales collaborated across teams, sending three to four people to the site each day to attract customers and offer makeup trials. These non-sales back-office employees did not apply full makeup like beauty advisors, but the company did not care at all about the image gap between a cosmetics company and a group of bare-faced people staffing a counter. The products were supposedly good enough that customers would come on their own.

As it turned out, the pre-event training was completely useless on site. Very few customers were willing to stop, and on more than 80% of the days there were more counter staff than customers—an absolute joke.

2. At morning meetings, the general manager has said more than once: “Sales performance isn’t only the Sales department’s responsibility! Everyone in the company is Sales’ support, and it is because of your efforts that targets can be met.” Yet he is the one who most often undermines Sales. Decisions are unclear, and only afterward does he say that we should benchmark ourselves against Shiseido, Kanebo, and others. Other brands have already completed their advertising and promotional campaigns—do consumers still have money to spend on KissMe?

(Think about this based on your own employee salary level: can you afford to be a loyal member of two or three department-counter brands?)

4. Execution

1. In addition to the toilet paper sign-in sheet, there is also a notice beside the sink: “Do not use hand-drying paper to wipe your lunchbox.”

Seriously, why control things so much? If kitchen paper towels are not for wiping dishes and containers, are we supposed to use them for writing and drawing?

2. The company places great importance on CPS. If CPS is written well, things will naturally get on track; as for actually executing anything… by the time you finish writing the CPS, there is no time left, and before you know it, the project has already expired!

(Definition: CPS is used for project management and is similar to a Gantt chart; it is a proprietary term used only at KissMe.)

3. The company has a KissMe online dictionary specifically for explaining various terms. The general manager once warmly reminded everyone that such a useful tool should be consulted and used frequently!

(If the usage rate is too low, you will be criticized. Are we participating in a dictionary-lookup competition?)

What a bizarre company.

Please think carefully before joining this pit.

In June, they laid off a group of very senior employees.

Then recently, they opened the following positions:

Assistant Brand Marketing Manager

Product Development Specialist

Counter Events Specialist (Marketing Department)

EC Planning Specialist

They laid off a group of employees and now need to expand the team? (What is going on? Wasn't the excuse for the layoffs that business performance was poor?)

One of the positions is even in a department that was affected by the layoffs.

Moreover, those senior employees had done nothing wrong and were very well-liked.

According to the conspiracy theory, the company did not want to pay retirement benefits.

Without resorting to conspiracy theories, the explanation would be that the company saw flaws that absolutely no one else saw—its powers of observation are beyond ordinary human ability.

It is already midyear, and it is time for performance reviews again.

The performance reviews HR talked about can supposedly lead to:

Promotion in job grade

Promotion in title

Regular salary increases

None of these will happen, because the entire review process is neither transparent nor public.

Moreover, the forms designed by HR are extremely difficult to fill out.

They clearly were not professionally designed.

But that is also consistent with this company's long-standing culture of "outsiders leading insiders."

The general manager is just amazing.

They are the head of HR.

They are the head of the Finance Department.

They are the head of IT.

They are the head of the Marketing Department—even though there is currently a marketing head, the general manager still manipulates things behind the scenes.

Oh my god, a jack-of-all-trades—so amazing.

Under the leadership of such an all-capable general manager,

how has this company still not surpassed Shiseido or Maybelline? Instead, it is getting farther and farther behind Shiseido and Maybelline.

Anyone with discerning eyes should be able to understand what this means.

If you are still interviewing and considering whether to join,

let me tell you:

Absolutely do not.

Look at the article from 2019/7/10.

It was not exaggerated at all.

The earlier post that said there was a travel subsidy was based on a misunderstanding.

Think about how much is deducted from your salary every month.

It is paid under the name of a travel subsidy,

and the amount of travel subsidy paid is different for each person.

The basis for the difference is this:

Under the original calculation method, the person who most liked going to see the general manager could not receive that much.

So she demanded that the calculation method be changed.

Only after the calculation method was changed could she receive more.

This was all manipulated behind the scenes through a black box.

The culture of this company = the general manager's way of doing things = the chairman's way of doing things = being extremely calculating with employees.

As mentioned earlier, it is true that you can take only 2.5 hours of leave for a health checkup.

The company even issued an announcement.

It said that on the day of the health checkup, employees could take only 2.5 hours of official leave; any additional time had to be taken from their own leave balance.

The company provides health checkups costing around NT$1,000 per employee,

yet it is extremely stingy about the time employees spend getting health checkups.

You can imagine what the situation is like in other areas.

It falls far short when compared with those above,

and is absolutely not even a little better than those below.

If you are considering whether to submit your résumé,

do not submit it under any circumstances.

If you are considering whether to join,

do not go under any circumstances.

If, after reading everyone's honest accounts,

you still decide to go,

then all I can say is: you brought it on yourself.

Pros

Convenient transportation

Very close to the MRT station

Inexpensive lunch options nearby

Not one of these is actually an advantage of the company

Cons

Apart from the beauticians and beauty consultants whom the company is always recruiting,

it seems the company has recently opened another position.

It was opened after many older employees were made to leave <the positions of those people>.

People who slack off and coast along were not let go,

while those who worked seriously were dismissed.

It is baffling what standards this company uses to decide whom to keep.

This company’s culture is to be extremely calculating with employees <what was said earlier about not paying overtime is all true; the threats that employees must not talk about it are also true; employees really do have to swipe their cards when entering and leaving because they want to monitor how long you are out>.

But the company keeps saying that it is very generous.

The annual health examination announced today has been especially terrible since last year <chosen by HR to save money, although the ones from the previous few years were also terrible>.

But you can tell how bad the examination is from the fact that it costs only around 1,000 yuan.

The Mid-Autumn Festival gift box is also worth only a little over 200 yuan each year, and contains biscuits that taste terrible.

Don’t even think about getting anything for the Dragon Boat Festival—there is absolutely nothing.

Chinese New Year? Heh heh.

Every Monday, the general manager just rambles and runs her mouth.

She often puts on a deliberately fake, curious expression while making snide remarks.

All kinds of idiotic questions, such as:

Why are the results so good?

What else have you done?

This time,

the general manager said, “We have a patent. Guess how much money we spent.”

But the “we” she referred to had nothing to do with her; it was Japan that had the patent and spent the money.

What happened to the integrity and honesty she talked about before?

Taking credit for what other people did?

Anyway, she supposedly makes all the wise decisions.

Heh heh.

I advise those who have not joined yet not to come here.

Once you join, everything will be just as described above,

After thinking about it for a long time, I guess there aren't any in the end.

Cons

“We will have some excellent people leaving KISSME.”

The people being laid off seem to all be very senior employees. During the pandemic, the company should have been able to apply to the government for subsidies for laying off employees. If so, this is quite a shrewd calculation 😤

The people who really get things done don’t come to work; the ones who curry favor and push their work onto others are the ones who know how to work. That way, they won’t be laid off like those senior employees 😂

I really don’t know how these senior employees became senior. They were able to stay for so long, only to eventually be abandoned and end up as laid-off employees. Those who remain will one day become senior employees too, then get laid off, and the company will tell the remaining employees the same nonsense: “We will have some excellent people leaving KISSME.” The cycle continues, and those who remain have to be constantly on edge 😱

They give time off but no pay, requiring employees to use special leave or compensatory time off in exchange for paid leave. They’re really good at calculating things. This company not only has no benefits, it even tries to take advantage of its employees. Enough already.

There used to be employee trips, but now they’re gone, leaving only the year-end banquet. Given the pandemic, postponing it was understandable, but then they quietly acted as if it had never happened and saved the money. The employee welfare contributions were paid for nothing.

They claim to be democratic, but it’s all fake democracy. Democracy exists only in the princess’s heart. They say they value honesty and integrity, but only when it suits them (what are you even talking about?). They say they follow the Labor Standards Act, but they love nitpicking with employees. If you work overtime for events or interviews, and apply for compensatory leave, it’s only one or two hours anyway (because the system doesn’t provide an option for overtime pay). They say it’s giving you a chance to learn, yet you still have to apply for compensatory leave—and on top of that, they may put on a sour face or even slam the table.

A labor inspection took place, and afterward employees were told to lie. If the inspectors asked whether you could freely choose between compensatory leave and overtime pay when working overtime, you were supposed to say yes, even though the system doesn’t have an overtime-pay option at all. What honesty and integrity 😒😒

The clock-in window of 8:30–9:30 looks flexible, but it feels like a benefit someone arranged for themselves. I heard that they usually arrive at the office around 9:20, so they don’t have to take leave. That’s because employees are forced to take special leave or compensatory leave in two-hour increments, making it extremely un worthwhile to use leave for this kind of lateness. Personal leave can be taken in half-day increments, but then your pay gets deducted (it seems that as an employee here, you have to be even better at calculating than the company 😂). So they changed the working hours from 8:30–9:00 to 8:30–9:30—a great benefit on paper.

There are probably still people who have aspirations about this company. If so, come and experience it for yourself; it should be quite an enlightening experience.

The company is very close to the bus and MRT stations.

Cons

1. Employee trips are held once every two years. The entire company is taken by tour bus to stay at a hotel in another county or city. They are always two days and one night, held on regular workdays, but you are given only one day of company-paid leave. The other day is directly recorded as unpaid leave. If you don’t want your pay deducted, you have to apply for compensatory leave yourself.

2. Health checkups are held once every two years, and the place where they are conducted is really not very good either. It must be very cheap.

3. They are very petty with employees. If you want to take compensatory leave, the minimum amount of time you can request each time starts at two hours. They don’t let you request just half an hour or one hour.

4. Only the factory pays overtime. All other departments are treated as being under a duty-based work system. At most, they will count it as compensatory leave, but if you take too much compensatory leave and the boss finds out, you will still get scolded. I heard that the boss once became very indignant and said, “Why are you so concerned about keeping track with the company? I never cared about work hours when I worked.”

5. The boss is a princess who does not allow anyone to defy her. In any case, she is always the one who is most right and understands things best. If you are interested in finding a job where you have no sense of self, you can give this place a try. Unless you know how to flatter people, you will only be a low-paid office worker here for the rest of your life.

6. Every year at the spring banquet, the 80-year-old chairperson goes onstage and says: “At last year’s banquet, the chairperson said they hoped the company would not make the chairperson worry. But over the past year, the chairperson has still been very worried and cannot retire.” Then the general manager’s daughter goes onstage and says: “Chairperson, we won’t make you worry!” Every year, we watch this father-and-daughter dialogue play out, and the only person her father is truly worried about is her.

7. The general manager shouts “customer-oriented” all day long, but everyone in the company knows that the only customers are the boss and his daughter.

8. The company is divided into factions: the chairperson’s faction and the general manager’s faction. Dealing with conflicts between the father and daughter is also part of the job.

9. Neither boss really trusts the people below them, especially the general manager, so they do not delegate authority either. All I can say is that it is difficult to get things done; we are often busy for no reason or doing work that comes to nothing.

10. The general manager likes to make decisions at every stage, but never clearly says what she wants and makes others guess. She changes her mind constantly and reverses decisions from one day to the next. She pretends to delegate authority, but if you do not act according to her wishes, just wait and see.

11. The organizational structure is adjusted extremely quickly, but it is only the same structures being brought back and forth again and again.

12. It is commonplace for one person to be used as three people. Roles overlap and responsibilities are unclear, and whenever something goes wrong, every department kicks the ball to another.

13. The general manager’s attitude toward decision-making is unclear. If something succeeds, she immediately claims deep involvement and says it was completed because of her decision, followed by a pile of requests for reports and assignments so that she can tell a complete story. If it fails, it is all “their” fault, and she goes around telling others what is wrong with you.

Pros

It's pretty easy to get by: you just need to know how to say good things about those above you and obediently do whatever the chairman and general manager say.

If you're responsible for something and the result doesn't meet the boss's expectations, you'll be blacklisted immediately, and things will get very bad.

So don't cause trouble on your own if you weren't asked to do something. You generally won't get into much trouble for pushing things away or avoiding them.

Cons

1. Previously, there was a company-wide meeting every Monday morning where everyone would gather and shout, “Outdo Shiseido! Outdo Maybelline!” It felt like a direct-selling convention.

2. The chairman really likes to pressure suppliers to lower their quotes—to the point of squeezing them to death. He would even say to them, “[The] chairman will teach you how to do business.”

3. The chairman and general manager are father and daughter, and their style is completely... a standard Taiwanese family business..... Anything you can imagine could happen.

4. Typhoon days off are treated as personal leave, and your salary is deducted. If you don't want your pay deducted, you have to use annual leave or compensatory leave yourself.

5. The benefits are really... nonexistent. There are no holiday bonuses for the three major festivals; at most, you get a discount on the company's products, but basically the company still makes money from you.

6. The marketing and sales teams for the counters are in two different worlds; each does its own thing.

7. The turnover rate is extremely high. Almost every year, at least one entire department disappears—for example, the entire finance team, sales team, or marketing team.

The company is very stingy. It can only offer the minimum salary stated in the job posting, with no bonuses for the three major holidays, and it cannot confirm when salary adjustments are possible. You just keep earning the same fixed salary. After reading online reviews, I really feel that this company is not worth interviewing with, let alone working for. It would be a waste of time.

Pros

None.

Cons

1. High turnover.

2. Department reorganizations, with employees finding out last—as if employees were idiots.

3. The management style of the person at the top, L, is basically living in their own world... and the salary and benefits are very poor...

4. Constant conflict between marketing and sales.

5. A company where the organizational structure changes every six months, yet there is no growth.

6. Sales salaries start at just over NT$30,000; marketing salaries are about the same, and design is too. So the salary level at this company is probably just like this.....

If you have experience, don't mistakenly join this company. If you don't want to leave quickly and end up with a blemish on your résumé, you'd better not come here....

If you have no experience, it can be a place to pad your résumé, but only if you believe you can last for more than a year; otherwise, don't bother.

Pros

1. If you have no great ambitions in life, you can wait until retirement.

2. If you seek a comfortable life, this place is worth considering.

3. The work is not very stressful; as long as you watch what you say, you’ll be fine.

Cons

1. The salary is not high, and I’ve heard that it is difficult to get adjustments. There is basically no salary adjustment policy because the boss is extremely stingy, so the benefits you would expect from a Japanese company are nowhere to be found...

2. If you want to work in sales, do not come here. The pay is laughable, although there is relatively little pressure regarding performance. In any case, when there is blame to be assigned, the marketing department gets saddled with it. In short, the key-account sales role is essentially a sales assistant position, while the marketing staff also double as salespeople.

3. Internal conflicts are serious, and every department is very good at dodging responsibility. The organization is restructured every so often. The most outrageous thing I’ve heard is that the entire Finance Department disappeared at once.

4. The boss lives in his own little world and has an overly positive opinion of his own company, so the high turnover in some areas of the company can also be credited to him.

5. The resources for counter-based and open-shelf products differ greatly. Anyone considering joining should think carefully. If you are just passing through, you can come, but if you plan to stay for more than a year, I suggest you don’t. After all, your life is still beautiful.....

6. It’s all women inside, so there are all kinds of schemes and infighting.... It looks wonderful on the surface, but there are turbulent undercurrents.
