Cons

There are too many drawbacks to list.

They like exploiting employees. One person is expected to do a bunch of things that were never mentioned during the interview. If you raise the issue with management, they just push the problem back onto you and make sarcastic remarks.

There is no standardized process at all; tasks are simply assigned to whoever happens to have time.

Extremely unprofessional—they only keep dressing things up to make the company look benevolent.

There are so many illegal practices that they cannot all be listed. ^^

Pros

The company has secured quite a few high-profile government VR contracts. Senior management is very good at PR and marketing, so from the outside, it looks like a stable and innovative technology company.

Cons

The internal environment is extremely chaotic. Senior management has absolutely no software development experience and lacks even basic management skills. If you are a capable professional, I strongly recommend that you do not join. Your expertise will be ignored, and during your time there, you will only become exhausted arguing with managers who are outsiders leading experts, hold all the power, and refuse to listen to reason.

- Outsiders leading experts & short-term thinking: Senior management not only lacks basic industry knowledge but also has no real management experience. They habitually overturn professionals’ opinions and keep only inexperienced employees around who obey their every command, promoting them simply because they are easy to control and afraid to resist. In addition, decisions are based entirely on immediate, short-term costs. Any proposal that requires spending money now will be rejected outright, even if it could save a large amount of money in the long run. They fundamentally do not trust experienced employees.

- Wasted resources & failed alternatives: Because they absolutely refuse to spend money, senior management frequently ignores experts’ warnings. They would rather force the team to waste several years building a cheaper in-house alternative from scratch than purchase necessary third-party solutions. The result is usually failure. Ironically, the labor costs wasted in the process end up costing the company even more.

- Severe silo effect & no quality control whatsoever: IT, art, hardware, planning, software, PMs, and senior management all operate entirely in isolation, and information is extremely opaque. Because senior management itself has no technical standards, it frequently forces projects to launch on schedule without any review. In the past, capable employees tried to build bridges for cross-department communication, only to be blocked by senior management.

- Extremely high turnover & no SOPs: Employee turnover is frighteningly high; PMs, HR personnel, and finance staff come and go constantly. As a result, the company has virtually no SOPs (standard operating procedures). The most efficient process in the entire company is probably the resignation procedure.

- Compensation and benefits: Salaries are clearly below the industry average. On top of that, senior management nitpicks over basic employee rights. They will do everything possible to make it difficult to pay, or refuse to pay, standard work-related expenses (such as business-trip expenses) and overtime. Even the most basic office perks, such as free snacks and drinks, have visibly declined in both quantity and quality.

Cons

1. There used to be snacks and drinks, but later they said it was for the sake of health, so they became a small portion of snacks and drinks. These were replaced with quarterly birthday celebration meals, but sometimes the meals are fried chicken cutlets, McDonald’s, and waffles. So it’s unclear what the original health-related reason was. Employees in various departments often have to rack their brains and do a lot of unpaid work beyond the scope of projects and plans, and in the afternoon there aren’t even small snacks and drinks. In any case, the benefits keep changing. The company rented out an entire movie theater, but even the theater location was communicated incorrectly = =

2. A company that develops products and handles projects, yet there are pitifully few people in design and product. The project staff can be counted on one hand—and there could be even fewer. The managers above are always telling people to deal with this person or that person, spreading information all over the place, with the focus always on personnel matters. They simply keep endlessly magnifying every employee’s shortcomings, so as long as you are well-connected, you don’t actually have to work. If you don’t want to work, you can join this company—it’s pretty easy to get by XD

3. Doing unpaid work that doesn’t fit the projects and plans is an everyday occurrence, because the people in the業O department do no planning. They keep endlessly asking everyone to provide information and details about new bids. She wants to win contracts, making it sound as if they were billion-dollar projects, and everyone in each department has to stop their own business and work just to help her. But often it’s all thunder and little rain. The instructions she gives are such that even she doesn’t know what she wants; she just throws out one sentence: “Give me everything.” So does she really finish looking through all the information???? The key point is that long after you provide it, she will ask everyone for it again. Every time a new group of employees arrives, she asks for it again, even though she already has the files. This endless unpaid work is the real source of increased costs. She wants to gloss over every item, and when costs ultimately exceed the budget, she says it was planned by the研O department. She also teaches each team in the研O department how to work. Once something goes wrong, she starts blaming current events, timing, the environment, and politics, and in the end dumps the mess on the研O department to clean up.

5. Likes holding meetings that are formally organized but have no purpose or objective. The minutes for every meeting must be produced within 24 hours, regardless of whether you are traveling for work the next day, taking leave, or it’s a holiday. Meeting minutes are treated as being on the same level as the Constitution: all work at hand must be put aside, even if you have an emergency.

6. Business trips are another story. The行O department stubbornly explains that they simply won’t let you apply, and even says it must be handled according to the travel-management regulations for government agencies. They make things difficult in every possible way, as if public funds were going to be used and the foundations of the country were at stake. The rules provide NT$4 per kilometer for riding a motorcycle and NT$5 per kilometer for driving a car. These rates were set several years ago; the only thing that hasn’t changed is this.

7. All kinds of bizarre activities: quarterly awards for outstanding employees and teams, although it’s unclear how they are defined. There are also sports activities, but they take place after working hours. Later there are lunch gatherings with the administrative department, but you have to pay for yourself. Despite saying participation is voluntary, they will still make sarcastic remarks about you if you don’t go. Also, in 2026 there was no year-end banquet or spring dinner, and no notice was given; then they handed out a NT$100 red envelope on the first day back at work. Anyway, it gets weirder every year.

Pros

After being with the company for over two years, overall, I feel it has both advantages and areas that need improvement.

The advantages are that the work-life balance is fairly good, working hours are relatively regular, and colleagues generally get along well. In addition, the products the company develops are not merely concepts or demos; there are opportunities to participate in real-world technology applications and actual projects. For those who want to explore new technologies or build project experience, this is a relatively appealing aspect.

Having worked here for over two years and worked for several years in total, I feel that no company is completely free of problems, and every boss can change suddenly and be difficult to predict. Whether it is a good fit still depends on what each person values. If you prioritize work-life balance and also hope to work with technology applications that are implemented in the real world, I think there are still worthwhile reasons to stay.

Cons

The downside is that the company is not very large, and some systems, processes, cross-departmental coordination, and management are still not fully developed. Sometimes you need to be more proactive about confirming things yourself, and you also need a certain ability to adapt when changes occur.

Pros

You can learn skills related to spirit communication, observing the underworld, and the like, while also strengthening your own resilience and understanding that when a company falls into chaos, it can truly have no limits.

Cons

1. The boss does not sign off on urgent documents personally, but likes to compress subordinates’ working time.

2. The supervisor does not even know what they want and likes to tell employees to figure it out themselves.

3. The year-end bonus is only one month’s salary, and it is paid in four installments (I heard that employees who join in 2026 will not receive a year-end bonus).

4. New hires have to find a way to dig up materials left by their predecessors (usually without success, because this company has no concept of document management).

5. There is no overtime pay for business trips on holidays.

6. Departments are very good at shifting responsibility, and supervisors make enemies everywhere.

7. All the normal people have left.

Pros

Know what the most chaotic and worst company looks like

Cons

The year-end bonus is paid in installments over a year, distributed in four payments. In the future, it will depend on the company’s profits, and the board of directors will decide how much to take out and distribute as the year-end bonus.

Taking sick leave or personal leave will result in a deduction from your performance evaluation, affecting your year-end bonus.

The company currently does not have many projects. It only handles highly restricted projects for the government, military, police, and firefighters. Government funding is mainly going toward AI and drones, so only small projects are available to take on.

They say they want to use AI, but only provide the Software Department with five $20-per-seat licenses for 10 people. Gemini is available, but Google’s computing capacity is currently insufficient.

The company culture is even more traditional than that of conventional industries. It does not even have project management software, and its workflows and processes are not standardized. There are no objectives set from above for KPIs; subordinates set their own, and it is unclear whether they are aligned.

They constantly demand AI-generated output, like a factory assembly line.

Pros

The turnover is very high—half the staff is replaced every six months, so you can get to know many colleagues.

Cons

There is no system, no benefits, and many illegal practices, so you have to be careful. The boss likes to make grand promises, while senior managers dump work and blame others whenever they feel like it. Management works together seamlessly to make life difficult for frontline employees. Matters discussed in managers’ meetings are never passed down, deliberately creating information gaps and misinformation. Frontline employees are left confused every day, wondering what this company is even trying to do. They like to hire inexperienced newcomers at low salaries and exploit them, but never actually teach or train them. On your first day, you are expected to go all in and take over work immediately, without any proper handover. The boss loves to say that the company is a startup in the high-tech AI industry, but the company culture is even more traditional than that of conventional industries. I have never seen them purchase or implement any AI systems for the company to use. They like using free software versions; otherwise, they use the family version of Office and even require employees to link their own private email accounts. The whole company is nothing like a technology company.

Pros

There aren't many normal colleagues left; the ones who remain are all the new hires' karmic burdens. Simply perfect!

Cons

The boss only cares about what they want and changes the rules at the drop of a hat. The SOP is written for ghosts to read and is practically impossible to follow. The boss doesn't like urgent requests, while the secretary only knows how to talk, spending all day asking other people whether they've finished their work and then forwarding it to the boss—beware the high-level switchboard operator. The people in power cause everyone trouble all day long, make work where there is none, and then change things again after everything has been finalized. It's hard to tell what this company actually wants.

The boss only cares about what they want and changes the rules on a whim. The SOPs may as well have been written for ghosts—they’re practically impossible to follow. The boss doesn’t like urgent requests, while the secretary only knows how to talk, spending all day asking other people whether things are finished and then transferring the calls to the boss so they know. Beware the high-level switchboard operator. The people with power cause everyone trouble all day long, creating work where there is none; after everything has been confirmed, they change it again. It’s not entirely clear what this company is trying to do.

The system is inadequate

The boss has amnesia and forgets what he has said. He also lacks professionalism, so before joining, you should first consider whether you can accept this.

He keeps saying that he knows a lot, but for the most part he doesn't.

The employees at other companies also have problems. Tasks are redone by whoever is willing to do them, while the others slack off and dump the work on someone else.
