None at all

For everyone who wants to know the latest situation, just read this post.

2025 Taoyuan headquarters situation

Low salary; there is a so-called three-month probation period.

Benefits are terrible—there are basically no benefits.

Difficult coworkers.

Senior colleagues are terrible and will also put on airs because of their seniority.

You even have to pay for department gatherings yourself.

Managers at all levels are two-faced. Senior managers pretend to be nice but actually have very bad tempers; junior managers lack ability and only know how to talk, and they will also badmouth you behind your back.

No year-end raffle.

Lack of learning resources; you have to buy the tools yourself.

Training simply means having you read materials. Basically, not long afterward, you are sent directly to the plant for hands-on work.

There is a high chance of being assigned to a terrible plant: lots of work, and the client’s attitude is arrogant. Reporting the situation to your manager is useless—you can only silently swallow your frustration.

Once they know you plan to resign, you become an engineer with no output and no value. They will not let you work until the end of the month after you resign; they will try to withhold as much of your salary as they can (the squeaky wheel gets the grease).

When stationed at a plant, you sign a minimum service period; plant assignment adds NT$1,000.

Everyone in the workforce is welcome to read this post. To repeat the old saying: if you lack money or want to accumulate information and experience, you can come here.

But just don’t stay too long.

Pros

I really can't say.

Cons

Due to an abnormality in the power supply at the server room in the Ministry's Technology Building, some electrical equipment melted and produced smoke. The fire safety mechanism was activated at 5:40 a.m. today. The Taipei City Fire Department arrived at 6:10 a.m. and completed the related firefighting work at 6:15 a.m., after which the Ministry immediately began repair work.

Following the emergency restoration and backup operations, the Ministry's and its affiliated agencies' information and communications services and system websites have now resumed normal operation. Testing of their operation continues, and it has been confirmed that none of the system databases were affected. All files and student data (including learning portfolio data, the school affairs administration system, etc.) remain complete and intact, with no loss.

The Ministry will continue to monitor the operation of each system service and make necessary adjustments to improve network and information services. In addition, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, the Ministry will conduct a comprehensive inspection of the safety of equipment and facilities related to the server room to prevent similar incidents from occurring.

113-02-22 May I ask whether the area manager of the Technology Building should come forward and take responsibility? Or are there already so few talented people at Wistron NeWeb? Are only those within small cliques or those who are good enough at flattering supervisors allowed to be called engineers by you?

Pros

The work is fairly easy

Regular working hours

Cons

1. Low salary (base monthly salary)

2. Difficult coworkers

3. There isn't much good food nearby, so you can only eat at convenience stores

4. The company facilities are old

Fresh graduates can come here to gain some experience and move on; the pay is low.

There is basic training when you first join, but afterward you will go to the plant. Believe me, what you learn at the company

usually won't carry over at the plant, so you'll have to start from scratch.

There will be team-building activities; please experience the details for yourself.

The salary consists of a base salary and bonuses.

The salary during the three-month probationary period is 28K; after passing probation, it will increase by 2K.

The environment is pretty good, that's all.

Cliques are a serious problem. If they don't like you, they'll target you. The company can't control those people.

Pros

Taking leave is very easy; as long as you request leave, basically any ridiculous reason will be approved.

The employees are extremely clear-headed.

Their wording and rhetoric are highly sophisticated.

The basic training is very standardized.

Cons

Salary structure: base salary + bonus (calculated by points; 100 points are allocated per month, with 1 point = NT$30).

They use various reasons to deduct wages; basically, if someone dislikes you, they will deliberately make things difficult for you.

The way they calculate case-processing time is simply bizarre.

1. Calculation method: maintaining computers during an eight-and-a-half-hour workday.

Maintenance: each computer basically takes 20 minutes, and you are expected to maintain 30 computers per day. (They will keep telling you that senior employees can maintain 30 computers a day.) If you fail to meet the target, they will deduct your (bonus) like crazy. Maintenance errors—including problems caused by the company itself—will also result in point deductions.

Remedial work after a maintenance error: they will say that each one takes five minutes, and that during an eight-and-a-half-hour workday you must remedy 100 cases, meaning 50 cases if you only work on half of them. Yes, that’s right: 50 cases.

Failing to meet the target likewise results in point deductions.

2. If you are reported, even when the user makes a frivolous report, your supervisor will still say that your bonus should be deducted.

3. Before you join, they paint an overly rosy picture, saying there will be classes and assessments.

To be honest, the classes will not continue as they claim; after a few sessions, they are over. The assessments are truly just as described by the company veteran who wrote on Tianyancha: unless you are a sycophant who flatters your supervisor enough for them to like you, you will basically be put in the cold-storage box. The three-month probation period is effectively an indefinite probation period.

P.S. If you don’t believe me, look at the previous posts. After you work there, you really will believe it.

4. They constantly encourage you to ask questions whenever you do not understand something.

If you are lucky enough to have good colleagues, they will kindly help you solve problems. But generally, when you ask them something, they will first make sarcastic remarks (unless you are the kind of sycophant mentioned above); usually, someone will mock you first, and only after a while will someone help answer your question.

5. The direction becomes unclear after you complete the basic courses.

Weice strongly promotes its educational website, and they say they spent money hiring people to film it as a guide for practice. But when you actually learn from it, believe me, you will still end up doing it wrong.

If you are a newcomer, they will keep finding people to substitute for you, but completing the courses does not necessarily mean you will succeed. Everyone does things differently, and no matter who teaches you, you will still be scolded.

6. Salary

The salary is fixed: the salary you negotiated + bonus. I think the salary they offer is the minimum wage (perhaps even below the statutory minimum wage).

For newcomers thinking about joining Weice: whether you have poor grades, are very inexperienced, or have just entered the IT industry, they will definitely hire you (as mentioned in previous posts). This company can serve as a stepping stone, and you can leave after working there for a few months—unless you are truly extremely useful. If you want to work there, I recommend having strong mental resilience. Of course, if you can tolerate employees who are extremely clear-headed, you can also stay at this company forever. What “clear-headed” means is something you can gradually experience after joining.

The work is simple

Cons

Everyone, it's 2023 and this company is still like this.

The salary structure is really complicated.

It's also the first time I've heard of being paid in two installments, on the 5th and 10th.

Every month, they always deduct something from your pay.

After all the deductions, the salary is really only around NT$20,000, like a part-time worker's.

It never reaches the salary stated on 104.

If you're late, they even ask you to first fill out a one-hour leave form,

then help you cancel the extra time afterward.

What kind of logic is that???

And you have to make up the hours whenever you take leave.

They deduct this and that from everything.

I sincerely advise against joining this company.

Don't make things difficult for your own wallet!

Pros

It depends on the benefits of the project you choose.

Cons

Fresh graduates with no experience will only get 26K (tight), and it is a YAHOO outsourcing vendor. There is a reward-and-punishment system (they will tell you that all large companies have certain systems in place). Meeting targets earns bonuses (which is usually difficult), while failing to meet them or making mistakes will result in deductions from your pay.

If you have relevant experience, the salary calculation categories are somewhat complicated, so remember to ask for detailed clarification.

If you unfortunately end up with a trainer who is not local, you are on your own.

The work itself is not difficult; the difficult part is the system (it is not very free, and you will be told what you can and cannot say). If you safely learn everything, you will be scored every week. If you do not get a perfect score or meet the requirements, your continued employment will be determined according to company procedures and the results. The evaluation standards are inconsistent and apply double standards, so beware of developing a split personality, suffering a mental breakdown, or being sabotaged by others.

It is recommended for people with strong stress tolerance, strong mental resilience, an urgent need for money, or a lack of work experience—or you could look for a job with a higher starting salary.

If you still have doubts about the above but want to give it a try, experiencing it firsthand and gaining some experience could also be worthwhile.

Pros

The colleagues get along harmoniously, possibly because the turnover rate is extremely high and the people who come in are all young.

Taking leave is not difficult; you can take it whenever you want.

Cons

The company offers a salary of NT$24,000. After that, there is an annual performance review, and if you pass, you get an extra few hundred dollars, but it will absolutely never exceed NT$28,000. The key point is that the increase is added to the bonus, which is then deducted for various strange reasons. There are no three seasonal bonuses, and the year-end bonus is NT$20,000.

Before I left, employees inside had raised issues about working hours. You start work at 8:00 a.m. and finish at 5:30 p.m., but they stubbornly insist that half an hour is break time and claim it is a rest period. However, there is no such thing as break time when working there. I heard that someone was preparing to report the company to the Labor Bureau. The company eventually changed the end time to 5:00 p.m., while still saying that it was not changed because it was illegal, but because there was a dispute.

Being late results in your salary being deducted twice. Taking leave and being late is clearly a violation of the Labor Standards Act.

Honestly, this kind of salary is even worse than part-time work. You do technical work but receive less pay than a part-time employee.

I strongly do not recommend joining this company. For young people who really need a job, I suggest completing a course at the Workforce Development Agency and then finding a better company to work for.

Only after I got there did I find out it was a contractor under Yahoo. I had applied for a customer service position at Yahoo Shopping. Honestly, after being in the workforce for so many years, I’ve never encountered an interviewer whose interview made me want to fall asleep...

For about half an hour, they kept repeating that I would need to attend training—training, training, training—going around in circles over the same point. Eventually, I couldn’t take it anymore and interrupted them, asking them to move on to the next section. Otherwise, I think the interview would have lasted more than two hours...

The salary structure was also incredibly long-winded: achieve this condition and get a certain amount more, then meet that condition and get another amount more. It was enough to make anyone dizzy. You only get the 30,000-plus dollars listed on 104 if you meet all the conditions. Near the end, the interviewer was still very confident, saying that you couldn’t find customer service jobs with salary conditions like these elsewhere—only telemarketing jobs offered that. Where did they get that confidence? Did they really think their company’s salary was so attractive? A company that made me roll my eyes all the way to the back of my head!

The colleagues are nice

Those who truly have no foundation can come here to hone their skills

Cons

The work is boring, and the supervisor has a great time. If you are a phone operator, there is a pile of work to do (answering calls, recording, handling, replying, following up, etc.). Sometimes you cannot even use the restroom normally. Not recommended.

Salary is paid on time, no overtime, and taking leave isn’t difficult.

Cons

The senior manager pretends to be a good person and is a master of empty rhetoric.

The junior manager is incompetent and lacks the ability to do the job.

Some colleagues are good and some are bad; there’s a backstabber who will stab you in the back.

If you want a promotion, obediently pretend to be a highly motivated slave.

The salary is very low, with a so-called ceiling at every stage and complicated performance evaluation calculations, making it difficult to understand the extent of raises. The process is also opaque and lacks any system.

When the workload was lighter in the past, it was not a bad job if you wanted little money and little work.

Now, because the client makes a large number of demands, the workload has increased significantly after joining—but your salary will not increase.

Conclusion: If you’re currently employed there and can escape, do it as soon as possible. New applicants, think twice—and then think twice again.

Compared with the starting point, the pay is a bit lower, but the work is more consistently based at one location.

Cons

1. At the beginning, they tell you that you will be stationed at a certain plant, but after a while, they may transfer you elsewhere.

2. There is a non-compete clause with the plant, so you cannot be hired directly by it.

3. The experienced employees at the plant can either help you succeed or—well, those who are not so good...呵呵.

4. Once your salary reaches a certain level, it becomes very difficult to increase it further.

5. The internal system has many bugs, and its interface is old and unattractive.

6. Department dinners are a benefit, but if they forget to organize one, it is simply not held, and there is no compensation.

7. The year-end bonus does not include the monthly XX bonus, and perfect-attendance bonuses are calculated quarterly, making them difficult to receive.

Colleagues help one another; a stepping stone for people with no experience who want to enter the IT industry.

Cons

Salary and benefits: During the interview, they told you your salary would be adjusted based on your performance after three months, but in the end they acted as if it had never been mentioned.

Supervisors’ attitudes: Some team leaders look down on the people under them; a few are very full of themselves and love to talk nonsense.

Job-hopping: Because of the non-compete agreement with the plant, if you want to move to a company at the plant, you might as well give up on the idea XD

Points of contact: Some contacts are pretty nice, while others try to set you up.

Other than the salary being paid on time, I can't think of anything else.

Cons

1. Engineers are only there to be squeezed dry. If you're capable, you're used as a pawn; if you're not, you're kicked around.

2. There are absolutely no benefits—only inexplicable team-building activities, while senior management gets high and talks a lot of nonsense.

3. The salary is lower than 7-Eleven's, and they will also ask you to sign a long-term employment commitment.

4. If you're not compliant, you're treated as a thorn in their side, and they just keep squeezing you for your salary.

5. Senior management only talks nonsense; there are major internal problems.

Pros

1. Coworkers are generally easy to get along with.

2. Once you get the hang of it, the job feels easy, although it can occasionally be frustrating.

3. There is a NT$100 monthly birthday-celebration allowance, regular group meals, and toilet paper is provided.

4. You don’t have to worry about meals.

5. Free health checkups

Cons

1. The managers love talking bullshit and saying random things. A few of them are downright arrogant and bully people—seriously, what are they acting cocky about? Can’t they just communicate properly?

2. The base salary is extremely low and is padded with allowances, but the calculation formula is incredibly complicated—apparently it has to be complicated enough that you can’t calculate it yourself or know whether you’ve been underpaid.

The allowances are calculated based on the number of days worked, so if there are more days off that month, you’ll receive much less.

3. Even after working for five years, you still can’t make NT$30,000. The raises are so insignificant that you barely feel them.

4. The evaluation system makes no sense. Even problems that cannot be attributed to the employee are made the employee’s responsibility.

5. They may underpay you, and you have to scrutinize every cent yourself. But because the calculation formula is so complicated, it’s also difficult to calculate.

6. The year-end party is in Taoyuan, and it’s fucking necessary to waste an entire day. It’s a little better now—you only have to waste more than half a day—but it’s not much different. Can’t they just have a meal and leave?????? Not everyone wants to waste their lives at activities that supposedly build company unity and team spirit, so I simply don’t go.

7. After you leave, they won’t pay or even mention the performance bonuses from work you previously completed. If you don’t ask, there’s an 80% chance they’ll quietly pocket them. They only pay once you ask—probably because they’re afraid of complaints. It’s the classic case of “the squeaky wheel gets the grease.”

8. No holiday bonuses for the three major festivals, but plenty of bullshit.

9. The year-end bonus is roughly a little more than one month’s salary; that’s all you get.

10. Good performance doesn’t mean you can receive more money. These really are two completely separate things.

For a technical position, the pay is low—extremely low. You start at 22K; after three months, whether your salary is adjusted depends on the boss's mood and your performance. If your performance is poor, the adjustment may be delayed, with a maximum of 25K.

The work environment depends on your personal luck—whether you burned enough incense in your previous life.

There are serious power struggles among management, and engineers are merely expendable pawns.

Although you may feel that you are an “engineer,” in reality, you are asked to do odd jobs and act as a lackey.

Even if you learn something, it will not be recognized by companies elsewhere, so do not set your expectations too high. If you really want to do it, just work there for six months to a year to gain some experience and then move on.

Think carefully before applying... The experiences shared by the senior employees below are “absolutely true.”

I know that administrative work at the front desk is very easy—so easy that the senior engineers there even arrange this kind of job for their partners.

As for the engineering roles, the work is exhausting and the pay is low. After a while, you start to feel that you have no value at all.

There are many company activities, and it feels like a big family, but employees are required to participate. Alternatively, you can choose to work instead.

Most importantly, it depends on the person supervising you. I was verbally abused and humiliated until I completely lost my self-confidence, became suicidal and depressed. The company knew, but said I was pretending to be ill. They even argued with my parents and demanded that, while suffering from depression, I write a voluntary resignation letter. In the end, they also made deductions from my wages here and there, so I have an especially bad impression of the company.

Maybe our feng shui just didn’t match!

I get the impression that the other colleagues are pretty nice.

1. Salary is calculated based on the base salary plus “regular” bonuses. The insured salary is based on the basic salary (the lowest bracket) in order to circumvent the Labor Standards Act. During my employment, the basic salary was below the minimum wage; I do not know whether this has since been corrected. After I reported the matter to the HR department, they shifted responsibility by saying that insuring the basic salary was not a problem. However, during the interview, they had mentioned insuring the full salary, and only later made corrections. (For the salary portion, refer to Article 21 of the Labor Standards Act.)

2. The accounting department makes errors even in the amounts shown on basic withholding statements. It cannot even calculate that overtime pay within 46 hours is non-taxable, and corrections are made only after employees point this out. The same problem still occurred the following year. The accounting department blamed the issue on the system but still did not make any changes. (See Articles 24 and 32 of the Labor Standards Act.)

3. Annual leave is available in theory but not in practice. Most positions at this company are outsourced personnel stationed at client facilities, and someone must cover your shift when you take leave. However, when the people above cannot find someone to cover for you, they only ask you to be understanding. The HR department also shifts the blame onto you personally, saying that if you want to take leave, you can take it, and whether you can actually take it is not the company’s problem.

When discussing salary, the interviewer said that it consisted of base pay plus a bonus, totaling the monthly salary. The base pay was the minimum wage, calculated from the 1st through the 30th (or 31st) of each month, while the bonus was calculated from the 15th of each month through the 15th of the following month. Therefore, if you want to receive the bonus when resigning, it is best to resign on or after the 15th of that month (but consider the bonus for the 1st–15th of your first month of employment as a gift to the company).

To give an example from when I worked there several years ago (the minimum wage was approximately 17,000 at the time), the salary agreed upon during the interview was 26,000 (base pay plus bonus). However, because I was new, the interviewing manager said that my salary would first be adjusted to 23,000 (base pay plus bonus) for the first three months, and would be adjusted to 26,000 after three months if I continued working there. In the spirit of learning as a newcomer, I agreed. After receiving my salary statement for the fourth month, I discovered that it had not been adjusted, and reporting this to my superior produced no results. The salary was still not adjusted in the fifth month, although I raised the issue every month, and the manager said each time that it would be adjusted the following month. Finally, at the beginning of the seventh month, I said that I wanted to resign and asked them to send someone to take over my duties (resignation must be submitted one month in advance). As a result, the salary statement I received that month showed the originally agreed-upon 26,000. However, when I resigned, the manager specifically explained that the bonus portion of that month's salary would only be paid after I left, and said that it would be paid at their discretion. In my case, it was not paid (perhaps not paying it is standard practice—*looks into the distance*). So the bonuses for the 1st–15th of the first month and for the month of resignation were both given to the company... Incidentally, I was also required to sign a non-compete clause stating that I could not work for the hiring company or in a related industry for two years.

Leave must be requested at least three days in advance so the manager can arrange staffing. For urgent leave requests, one hour of leave counts as three hours of leave; for managerial positions, the time is increased further (one junior manager requested two hours of leave and it became half a day ˇˇ).

I have heard that if an employee has a poor record, or if the hiring company does not renew the contract because of budget cuts, dispatched engineers have a fairly high chance of being required to start working at the head office in Taoyuan the following week (regardless of whether they live or are stationed in Taoyuan, Taipei, Zhongli, or elsewhere).

The advantage of this company is that no prior experience is required—as long as you are willing to learn, you can definitely get the hang of the work—so it is an excellent entry point. Also, the dispatched engineers in the same area get along quite well.

The monthly salary is paid twice, once every 15 days. When you want to resign, it’s really damn frustrating. Having every other week off skirts the gray area of the Labor Standards Act. The base salary is the minimum basic wage of 20,000+, plus Yakult. Bonuses depend on how skilled you are at sucking up to the boss. In all fairness, this is a job with SOPs, just like working at 7-Eleven or as a manual laborer; an elementary school graduate could do it, so the low salary is understandable. However, some of the junior managers this company employs have problems. If you stay too long, you become like someone in an abalone market who no longer notices the smell. In summary, learn to code well so you don’t have to keep looking for these shitty labor jobs. I stayed for a year and think it stinks. Let’s encourage each other.
