Pros

Overtime is generally not required, and the company's forms are highly automated. Labor-management meetings are held every quarter, and proposals that benefit employees have the opportunity to be adopted. The systems are well established. Although the construction sites have a high turnover rate, there are also many experienced colleagues, and everyone gets along well. Training is planned every year, with an emphasis on performance and development.

The Taipei office is conveniently located, with plenty of nearby food options, including healthy meal boxes. The office environment is pleasant.

Cons

Some older equipment and furnishings could be scheduled for renovation.

Aside from the decent salary and benefits, I really can't say what the advantages of working here are.

Cons

I work in finance, and I urge anyone considering applying for a finance position at this company to read this review! You really need to think it through carefully! Please don't join just because the pay is higher. Earning a little less would be better for your physical and mental health (my sincere advice).

Although the company is quite large, the people there are not easy to get along with and are fairly cliquish. There are also a lot of rules. Even a simple document has to be submitted for approval and passed back and forth for those esteemed executives to review; if they are not satisfied, it will be sent back! Most importantly, the finance department supervisor also engages in workplace bullying. Every day, they speak to you harshly, are impatient with you, and constantly dump miscellaneous tasks they don't want to do on you. They will even reprimand you in front of people from other departments, causing extremely high mental stress at work. In addition, every payment at this company is urgent—everything is urgent, and I have no idea what they are rushing about. It may also be due to the nature of the industry. However, the actual work itself is not difficult. The real difficulty comes back to dealing with people. If that finance supervisor is not replaced, even the most outstanding employees will not be able to stay there! So if that supervisor is still there, I genuinely recommend not taking the job. Even if theirs is the only offer you have, I sincerely suggest continuing to look for other opportunities rather than foolishly stepping into a pit of fire!

I work in finance. Please, if you're considering applying for a finance position at this company, read this review! You really must think twice! Don't join just because the pay is higher—please consider your own physical and mental well-being and accept earning a little less instead (this is my sincere advice).

Although the company is quite large, the people there are difficult to get along with and rather cliquish. There are also a great many rules. Even a simple document has to go through repeated rounds of approval for those “great” senior managers to review, and it will be sent back if they aren't satisfied! More importantly, the head of the finance department also engages in workplace bullying. Every day, they speak to you harshly, act impatient with you, constantly dump miscellaneous tasks they don't want to do on you, and reprimand you in front of people from other departments. As a result, the mental pressure of working here is extremely high. Also, every payment at this company is urgent—everything is urgent, and I have no idea what they are rushing about. It may also be due to the nature of the industry. However, the actual work itself is not difficult; the real difficulty ultimately comes down to dealing with people. I work in finance. Please, if you're considering applying for a finance position at this company, read this review first! You really must think twice! Don't join just because the pay is higher; earning a little less is worth it for the sake of your physical and mental well-being (my sincere advice).

Although the company is very large, the people there are not easy to get along with and are rather exclusionary. There are also countless rules. 除了薪資待遇不錯,實在說不出這裡的優點在哪裡

Cons

Pros

There are offices in Taipei and Taichung. The company underwent reforms in 2023, so many people resigned. There are many job openings, and managers use a hands-off management style.

Cons

The Taipei HR department is made up entirely of people unwanted by other departments, because the company does not lay off employees. It is exclusionary, so those with sufficiently strong scheming skills may give it a try.

1. A female HR employee privately told me: Our company is different from other companies—we have assistant engineers ranking above engineers.

2. The female HR employee completely disregards the Labor Standards Act, requiring you to clean up her mess. An employee applied to resign on March 15, but when they did not show up on the morning of March 6, she immediately removed them from the labor insurance.

3. To report to work at this company, you need to provide three months of pay slips from your previous company. This is the rule!

4. The company underwent reforms this year, and the year-end bonus was reduced. Approximately 20 people resign or take leave of absence every month.

5. The manager told HR: Get people in here by whatever means necessary first, and worry about the rest later.

918 Earthquake – Contractor for the badminton court at Badeh National Sports Center

Cons

In 2017, at the Taipei “Ankang Market Public Housing” project undertaken by RSEA Engineering Corporation, a worker was killed after being struck by falling rebar; in 2019, at the construction project for the Kaohsiung City Integrated Long-Term Care Center for the Elderly, a worker was killed after being struck by formwork!

🔎According to the Ministry of Labor’s “Search System for Businesses (Employers) Violating Labor Laws and Regulations,” since 2015 there have been records of 210 violations of labor laws and regulations and 4 major occupational accidents.

🔎According to the Ministry of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s “Major Occupational Disasters Public Disclosure Network,” since 2015 there have been 199 violations of occupational safety and health laws and regulations, with an average of 25 penalties imposed per year; as of this year, there have already been 15 penalties.

This unscrupulous contractor was named as early as 2018 by The Reporter. Its record of labor-law violations ranked highest among all contractors, and the overwhelming majority involved occupational safety and health regulations. It can be said to have disregarded construction-site safety, with no sign of improvement even after being penalized.

In 2022, less than a day after the badminton court at Badeh National Sports Center opened, the 918 earthquake struck, and the ceiling directly fell and collapsed.

Pros

1. It is a company with some systems in place, offering employee uniforms, year-end bonuses (calculated based on base salary), health checkups, employee trips (partially subsidized; relatives pay their own expenses), and so on.

2. Engineering business performance is decent, and there are bonuses upon project completion.

3. A perennial winner of the Public Construction Golden Safety Award and Golden Quality Award?

4. The chairman has ambition and drive.

5. ….?

Cons

1. It is a company with systems in place, but there are so many rules—how many of them can actually be implemented? It is merely a company that looks polished on the outside, while its internal personnel are fundamentally weak. Could you please stop doing everything only halfway!

2. The company is very good at pushing up business performance, but many bids are actually loss-making or are undertaken just to build a reputation, solely to boost the performance figures and make outsiders think the company is highly profitable. But without profitable construction sites, where would profit-sharing bonuses come from?

3. A low-paying company. Since job postings now cannot say “salary negotiable” unless the salary is above NT$40,000, you may see an engineer salary range of NT$28,000–55,000 on recruitment websites. Do not be fooled by the NT$55,000 figure: in principle, it is difficult to exceed NT$40,000 unless you know senior management or have an influential person vouch for you. If you want a high salary, you will achieve it faster by dreaming. And don’t forget that even the NT$28,000 position requires three years of work experience… There is also the issue of overtime pay. Office-based staff receive no overtime pay and can only exchange overtime for compensatory leave, but they must submit an application in advance. If you do not apply, you are simply expected to make the sacrifice and work for your “health,” I suppose. On-site personnel receive overtime pay or compensatory leave, but the schedule must be finalized one month in advance; any subsequent changes are your own responsibility, and the company will not recognize them. Be prepared to work your full assigned hours. Oh, and regular weekdays are also based on a responsibility system; overtime pay may only be possible on Saturdays and Sundays.

4. The company has too many redundant employees. As long as you maintain a good relationship with the engineering manager and director, your performance evaluation will not be too bad. You can spend every day chatting, joking around, and slacking off at the site; if something goes wrong, just shift the blame to someone else, or wait for another responsible fool to clean up the mess. As long as you put on a show, that is enough. Everyone can profit from the perks together—just make sure you do not get caught.

5. A perennial winner of the Public Construction Golden Safety Award and Golden Quality Award—but does that really mean there are no occupational accidents and that the project quality is good? It is merely a matter of spending a great deal of money on remedial measures afterward. Human life is truly pitiful…

6. The chairman has ambition and wants to push forward, which is certainly commendable. But when you speak passionately every time, have you ever considered how frontline employees feel? Being good at flattering people, painting grand pictures (telling lie after lie), or having an imposing presence does not make someone a talented employee, okay? Have you ever reviewed why the employee turnover rate is so high? Why is it that whenever you recruit, you mostly end up with redundant employees? You cannot afford to pay talented people properly, so stop feeling good about yourself. There are many truths about the company that you simply have not seen.

7. For those genuinely considering joining RSEA: if you have ideals and ambitions, I advise you to think again. If you have no experience, you can come in and take a look at how a large company’s systems work, and learn as much as you can from the good aspects. If you happen to encounter a good supervisor, it may be worth staying; if the opposite happens, leave as soon as possible.
