Pros

Good benefits from the parent company

Cons

* It is recommended not to accept a position solely because of the brand prestige, benefits, or resources of the parent group. You should still ask more questions about the actual job responsibilities during the interview; you may find that the manager cannot explain them clearly either.

* Employees are often asked to explain how they think, make judgments, and make decisions, but after answering, they do not necessarily receive further clarification or feedback. As a result, it is difficult to determine what the manager actually thinks about the direction of execution. Are these questions asked because they genuinely want to know, or is it just management theater?

* The company’s brand has been around for more than a decade, but its internal workflows remain quite mysterious. Even aside from the lack of SOPs, various forms and work-related information are scattered across different systems. New hires often spend a great deal of time looking for files, and when they encounter a new issue, they also discover many new forms at the same time.

* The company relies heavily on AI; even product training involves asking new hires to consult AI.

* Communication between departments never seems to be on the same page. After meetings, people continue proceeding according to their own interpretations, making you wonder why they hold so many meetings in the first place.

Pros

Benefits comparable to Wistron’s, with a spacious office, photography studio, café, and more.

Cons

1. Senior management is treated as sacred and beyond question. Even when informed of the department’s current difficulties and the assistance needed, they will still go around in circles to argue that it is something the department should solve itself and that management should not provide solutions (in reality, they simply have no ideas).

2. Managers’ main function is to relay information from above. Because senior management has no ideas or strategy, directives change from day to day, while department-level managers only pass these directives down without providing subordinates with much additional explanation or context. Most of the time, they simply say that it is an instruction from senior management.

3. Some managers transferred from the Institute for Information Industry and have strong bonds from their revolutionary days together; no matter how many things go wrong, it will absolutely never be their fault. Even terrible performance cannot possibly be their problem.

4. Senior management is very fond of telling employees that the department is on the verge of collapse, performance is poor, or the company is going to shut down. Framed appropriately, raising a sense of crisis can indeed be effective, but after encountering senior management that says this every two or three days, all you feel is intense emotional coercion. The key issue is that senior management has not proposed any concrete approach to lead all employees out of the difficulties.

5. Some long-serving employees have a strong subservient mentality. Even though they know the workplace atmosphere and internal operations are poor, they can only shrug helplessly and continue tolerating senior management’s ever-changing directives.

6. The company was established around ten years ago, but few people still know its brand. It is unclear what problems have occurred in the company’s operations over the years.

7. Cross-departmental collaboration is poor. Senior management has always known this but has done nothing, considering it a minor issue. However, when performance is poor, it is brought up as a target for venting frustration. When conflicts arise, because certain departments are favored, any fault will be attributed solely to the other departments.

8. The performance bonus system changes whenever management feels like it. I have never seen a company announce a change only when it is time to pay the bonuses. I do not know whether it has been fixed now.

The benefits are comparable to Wistron, but since you are not a Wistron employee, some benefits are only there to look at and admire from afar.

Cons

Introduction to the Wistron environment:

1. Seats are divided by group, and meetings all use Marvel-related names. The HR representative seemed somewhat proud of this while introducing it.

2. The Wi-Fi speed is good overall, and the internet connection is fairly smooth.

3. HR introduced the job responsibilities rather casually and brought the supervisor in after only a short conversation.

4. The work environment is very quiet. There appear to be more than 50 people, and everyone seems to be working very seriously.

5. Feedback is emphasized in meetings, but no one is willing to provide feedback. It sounds as though the feedback is not taken seriously by upper management.

6. Supervisors look after one another. Yes, only the supervisors look after one another; people below them are treated as disposable. Choose this company carefully.

7. I heard that the groups were reshuffled some time ago, with some groups forcibly combined. I do not know whose idea it was, but it looks completely absurd.

8. Do not question the supervisors’ abilities, because there is no need to question them in the first place. Projects and proposals are repeatedly revised, and when you ask why, they do not know either—they just cite instructions from upper management. Is there still any need to question them?

9. The atmosphere inside the company is very gloomy. You may feel as though the company is barely holding on.

10. Do not expect training, because there is no training. The supervisors even naively believe that training exists.

11. Supervisors like to tell jokes that only they find funny. They pick on easy targets, say unfunny things, and then laugh to themselves with a “heh heh heh.”

12. You have to follow upper management’s instructions at work. If you do not, you will be treated as someone on the potential-danger list.

13. I heard the bonus system is still being revised. It is unclear whether the bonuses cannot be issued or simply are not intended to be issued.

Think carefully before joining this company, unless you want to experience everything described above.

Benefits are comparable to Wistron’s, and at least there’s no need to make up workdays.

Taking leave is easy.

Cons

1. The company’s senior management lacks decision-making ability. The company has been operating at a loss ever since it was founded in 2015, with no business acumen whatsoever. Why does Wistron continue investing in it? Maybe they’re doing charity?

2. There are many people who lack ability. People without marketing experience can become managers, and others have to help review their meeting presentations. When asking questions in meetings, they have no clear point and just do it to刷存在感… Once they leave Wistron ITS, they really won’t have the ability to work anywhere else.

3. People with an ITRI background are well protected by senior management. Even though performance declines every year, they still won’t be laid off.

4. The management team has endless meetings every day, but has no way to solve the company’s losses. The meetings have no focus, and it’s completely unclear what they are trying to express…

5. There is no complete business model; it changes every week! Haha

Pros

The benefits are generally about the same as Wistron’s, but the salary range varies considerably. There is no need to make up workdays. After passing the probationary period, employees receive additional vitality leave, but this leave is mainly used to make up for workdays, leaving very little after deducting the make-up days.

Cons

The company has not made a profit since it was established and has relied on its parent company, Wistron, for financial support. Last year, it shut down the K12 division. It also previously closed its Hong Kong subsidiary and abandoned its expansion into the Southeast Asian market. Other unprofitable departments will likely be cut in the future as well. The company has streamlined its workforce, and many people who leave are not replaced. The company treats this as cost-cutting, reducing losses wherever possible. Its future is worrying, with no prospects at all.

Pros

1. Benefits are comparable to Wistron, with access to group benefits and participation in various activities.

2. There is an annual salary adjustment, presumably based on performance or group regulations.

3. A company shuttle bus is available. If you live along one of its routes, you can save quite a bit on commuting costs.

4. There is no work on make-up workdays. However, because the company operates in the education services industry, some positions may still need to handle matters related to instructors, students, or operations on regular holidays.

5. The work locations are considered conveniently accessible: the headquarters in Xizhi is near Xike Station on the TRA; the Taipei office is near Nanjing Fuxing Station on the MRT; and the Zhongli office is near Zhongli Railway Station on the TRA.

Cons

Every company has some difficult or incompatible motorcycle-riding colleagues or bosses who are hard to get along with. No company is established solely to do charity and hand out money to employees. Companies operate with goals, and employees face pressure and need to meet performance expectations. If, during the interview, you had concerns about the performance targets you would need to meet after joining, you should not have joined. Even if most colleagues might say that failing to meet performance targets is understandable (?!) there are also people who work very seriously and achieve excellent results. Work involves some pressure… If you really cannot stay, do not force yourself. There are also a few colleagues who are useless or problematic teammates, enjoying an easy ride and pushing work onto others whenever possible. After others do a great deal of work, the results may be credited as their own or attributed to their department’s output (being able to take credit simply by talking is itself considered a contribution).

Most colleagues work regular hours. Consider what work performance you want to pursue and how much effort you are willing to put in. There are countless reasons for leaving a job, and people who post here will all say it was the company’s problem. I think you still need to examine what gap existed between your expectations and reality, and whether you asked enough questions during the interview. If you leave because your job duties were adjusted, the company has its goals and you are unable to cooperate with them: if it works, come together; if it does not, go your separate ways. You are welcome to find a job that suits you better and continue growing, or consider becoming your own boss.

Pros

The salary and benefits are better than those of competitors. The benefits are about the same as Wistron’s, but they are all supported financially by the parent company, Wistron. The company was established in 2015 and is still operating at a loss. The boss is very good at running the company.

Cons

1. Because the company is still operating at a loss, there may be a risk that it will shut down in the future. Operations are unstable, and it probably will not last more than 10 years before shutting down or laying off employees.

2. The turnover rate is extremely high, and things are very chaotic. One particular department changes its entire group of employees every few months. Recently, many people have left the company, and many vacancies are not filled; instead, the remaining employees are simply told to share the workload. It is a case of bad money driving out good money. Many people there, including the bosses, are very incompetent, yet they cling to their positions and refuse to leave.

3. Overtime can only be compensated with time off in lieu; overtime pay cannot be claimed. Even when you apply for overtime because you are clearly busy with work, the company may not allow you to report it.

4. The company sets unreasonable targets. Senior management only knows how to pressure, scold, and lecture people; they do not know how to lead. You also often have to handle work after hours and on weekends, which is mentally exhausting and makes you want to leave.

5. Some departments are very fond of political infighting. They are good at taking credit and shifting blame, but cannot produce much in the way of results.

Anyone considering joining should proceed with caution. The company is not well-known either, so it does not add much to your career. There is no need to waste time joining just to pad your résumé.

The internal environment is good—relaxed and comfortable. Most employees are young, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Salary and benefits are comparable to those at Wistron Corporation.

Cons

The startup’s business model is not yet stable and is still being adjusted.
