Pros

The environment is clean and tidy, and the restrooms are very clean and hygienic. Everyone wears neat uniforms to and from work. There are also some unexpected perks, such as a birthday bonus.

Cons

Corrupt hierarchical and bureaucratic relationships mean you have to struggle to survive between the cracks. Everyone has a strong sense of crisis, and it is very tense: every month, you have to report your performance at the monthly meeting. There are often some unreasonable company demands. Unpaid leave on typhoon days and overtime are considered normal. Salaries are below the industry average, and new employees are not particularly well looked after, resulting in high turnover. Some departments have it really easy, while others are genuinely miserable—a polarized, M-shaped society. Who knows how many people have left already? Is it because there is a lack of talent, or because the company cannot retain people?

Pros

The company environment is good, and the facilities are well-equipped. In particular, the restrooms are clean, and having to change shoes before using them is quite uncommon. The company organizes quite a few group-purchase and other activities, such as Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Family Day, beach cleanups, and so on. After the beach cleanup, there is also lunch at a seafood restaurant. Badminton and table tennis tournaments offer participation prizes, and the prize money is quite good.

Cons

When business performance is good and the boss is in a good mood, he does not tend to walk around the various departments much. If business performance is under pressure, the atmosphere becomes somewhat tense as well. In general, as long as you follow the company’s policies and do your part, the rest is pretty much up to fate.

Pros

The lobby is bright, and the restrooms and common areas are very clean. The dormitory is very inexpensive—I heard it only costs 1,000. After 7 p.m., you can have a free dinner, and there is also a subsidy for snacks from convenience stores. Uniforms are required, so you do not have to think about what to wear to work, which can save on clothing expenses. Parking costs 1,200 per month. If there is no parking space available, you can park at the company and come back to pick up your vehicle when you need to use it, which can also help reduce expenses. There is a gym, and the showers are available for use. Training sessions with external instructors are held periodically. The salary is better than some, though not the best.

Cons

There are no flexible working hours, and there is a required number of times to exercise each month. (However, being able to temporarily leave work in exchange for health benefits is an understandable starting point.) Working here feels more like being at school: you follow the schedule signaled by bells, and the seating area is expected to follow 5S standards. You may be asked not to place personal items such as dolls or potted plants at your desk. The work is fulfilling, but the atmosphere can sometimes be tense.

On-the-job training opportunities that are uncommon in most companies but may be encountered here include: 1. Emotional management exercises 2. Verbal endurance exercises 3. Workplace bullying prevention and response training 4. Workplace sexual harassment prevention drills 5. High-speed flying office-supply attack evasion exercises

Cons

These exercises were not listed in the 104 job posting information when applying for the job.

Wait until you finish working at this company.

Every other company will feel like paradise.

That's what everyone who leaves says.

Cons

As someone who was once treated as disposable,

I won't go into the huge workload, physical violence, and humiliation—everyone knows about those.

I still don't understand what era we're living in.

The dress and grooming regulations are bizarre.

Denim clothing is not allowed.

Are you asking whether I'm working at some communist enterprise?

You even have to control what I wear.

I just want to be a cowboy!

Said during the interview that there were many employee benefits

Cons

Only found out after joining that it was all lies.

I never received a travel allowance; for the three major festivals, they always gave out PX Mart gift vouchers.

The gym and badminton court provided by the company ultimately became a situation where the boss thought employees weren't using them, said it was a waste, and then wanted to get rid of them.

(Without realizing that employees were also too busy to use them.)

(They even introduced a rule requiring everyone to exercise a fixed number of times each month!)

Pros

The restroom is clean

Cons

While seriously working, the big boss suddenly came to inspect the department.

The entire department had to stand up and answer his questions. If he was dissatisfied with an answer, he would directly dismiss the person. (There is considerable psychological pressure working here; you’re very afraid that one action or one sentence could result in the boss scolding you, hitting you, or directly asking you to leave.)

The former HR manager publicly stated at the monthly meeting after the Lunar New Year:

“Our company places great emphasis on human considerations, but we don’t accept leave taken for family trips. It’s already 9 days—what, is that still not long enough?”

In the end, we said goodbye to him too.

The big boss also requires employees to exercise 8 times every month

(the requirement is to exercise at the company gym).

Employees already work overtime every day until they’re exhausted, and you still expect them to cooperate and go exercise. Can’t you let people go home early and get some rest? ==

Pros

The employees have good relationships and band together for mutual support.

Cons

The old man hits people. Throughout the company, from managers to employees, whenever he gets upset in a meeting, the basic version is throwing water bottles, mice, and computers; the intermediate version is hitting people on the head or back; and the advanced version is hitting long-serving employees until their hands bleed or they limp. Everyone’s first greeting at work each day is asking whom he hit yesterday.

A monthly meeting is held every month, and after the meeting, there is also an exam covering some strange questions (the PPT font is also extremely small).

It would be one thing if it were just an exam on the monthly meeting, but we also have to listen to the big boss lecture us. Once, a monthly meeting lasted from 8:20 to 11:00.

I have even heard the big boss say in front of more than 400 people:

👨🏻‍🦳 The women at Everlight used to be so ugly. (I was completely dumbfounded when I heard that.)

Could you take a look at yourself before criticizing others?

Pros

The work environment is excellent, and the restroom is truly five-star.

Honestly, the only thing I really like about working at Everlight is that the restroom is great.

And the “colleagues” who have gone through thick and thin together are genuinely wonderful.

Cons

Some managers are truly awful.

I don't know if it's because they didn't grow up in warm families, but they work overtime all day.

They have no ideas or abilities, yet they force employees to stay and work overtime with them to fabricate data (so they can report to the top boss the next day).

We always waste a lot of time preparing “reports” and “fabricated data.” When upper management is dissatisfied, we have to redo everything.

But from start to finish, we are simply following the department manager's ideas, while the department manager doesn't even know what they themselves are supposed to report.

In addition, there are people in the department who rise through the ranks by leveraging personal relationships.

Every year, promotions and bonuses are given most generously to that same person.

Although that colleague holds the title of senior specialist, they are still doing an assistant's work. Whenever there is something they don't want to do, the manager helps push it onto someone else.

For someone who is a senior executive and also owns shares in the company, this is……truly extremely inappropriate and…utterly shameless.

Pros

I need to have a drink and think about it.

Cons

Is it legal to deduct annual leave for a typhoon day off?

Some users have reported that employers require “using employees’ own annual leave to offset typhoon leave; otherwise, no pay will be provided.” This is illegal. The Ministry of Labor stipulates that typhoon leave cannot be replaced by any other form of leave or leave category. In addition, the Labor Standards Act provides that workers may freely arrange the dates of their special leave. Unless an agreement is reached through consultation, employers may not interfere for any reason with special leave that workers have already scheduled.

Pros

There is an underground parking lot, and the fees are reasonable

Uniforms are provided, but the women’s version is very ugly

Complete labor and health insurance; you don’t need to go elsewhere for health checkups

After working for more than six months, you’ll develop strong bonds with your colleagues. You can be good coworkers at work and good friends after work

Cons

The boss has serious mental and emotional problems, and routinely engages in personal attacks, gender discrimination, physical violence, and various forms of PUA, showing no respect for employees

The boss often makes impulsive, spiteful decisions alone that cause losses to the company, treats clients like idiots by randomly changing materials and altering processes, then blames employees for the consequences—as if he were the only competent person in the world

All company policies can be changed at any time depending on the boss’s mood. The promotion and salary-adjustment systems are chaotic, and employees may even be fired arbitrarily when the boss is in a bad mood

Although customers are supposed to come first, employees prioritize dealing with the boss’s unreasonable demands to avoid being berated, putting customer requests second

The head of HR embodies the standard bad habits of the military: ingratiating themselves with superiors, projecting an image, and shouting slogans. They are best at overcorrecting, yet completely disconnected from the realities of life within the company

If the boss does not retire soon and the company culture is not improved and optimized, the company will only retain slaves who are physically and mentally scarred and no longer have any fight left, along with people who have long exploited company resources for ill-gotten gains. It cannot even retain ordinary, capable employees

Otherwise, with our perennial competitor GuangX* laying off a bunch of people, who would be willing to come here?

Cons

1. The company website requires you to write a very detailed personal résumé, but during the interview, it was not looked at or referred to at all.

2. The first interview seemed to go well, but my English score was only 290, below the company's minimum requirement of 400. The interviewer said they would submit a request for approval and try to make an exception. Before the second interview, however, they sent me an email directly informing me that, because there are currently limited job openings, they are unable to immediately make use of your expertise.

3. After coming to this job-search website, I discovered that the company basically has many problems. Although it is Taiwan's largest LED company, perhaps not being hired was the best arrangement after all.

Pros

The colleagues are nice, and the toilets are very clean.

Cons

A bureaucratic system; all benefits are treated as the employer’s grace; severe overtime; exams on X’s quotations; unclear promotion opportunities; policies can be changed by supervisors at any time; high turnover; ineffective training; oligarchic decision-making; workload far exceeding the salary; the rules and requirements only keep increasing; unreasonable demands are treated as discipline—too many to list.

Conclusion: If you can accept treating a person like a god and worshipping them, you can come and give it a try.

Pros

What comes to mind… uniforms are provided, so you don’t have to think about what to wear to work.

Also, when the fivefold vouchers were issued, the company additionally gave everyone 5,000.

The benefits are actually quite generous. They occasionally give out gift vouchers, and everything that should be provided is given. The performance bonuses are also decent when business is good (but I only received one once). After working at Everlight, everywhere else feels like paradise, and you’ll even feel like time passes very quickly!

Cons

As mentioned in the advantages, performance targets increase indefinitely. After receiving it once, I never received it again.

You can’t take Fridays off, nor can you take the days immediately before or after a long weekend off. If you want to request leave, you have to report it in person.

If the performance settlement date happens to fall on a weekend, you’ll be required to work overtime on Friday…

The scheduled end time is 5:30 p.m., but I’ve never left on time. You’re expected to pretend to be busy; if you leave on time, people will say you’re too idle. (I tried challenging the limit before, and my supervisor ended up giving me more work.) But leaving work on time is clearly normal! The whole company is full of abnormal people! Do they really hate going home that much?

The office is so quiet that all you can hear is the air conditioner and typing…

Even getting up to fill your water bottle or go to the restroom attracts attention—people notice whether you’re making too many trips. I really couldn’t take it anymore.

An update for everyone: I recently received an interview invitation from this company. I scored around 750 on their TOEIC test in 2008, and during the interview the supervisor became completely jealous. Then, without listening to my introduction, they scratched their hair on camera!!! Scratched their hair!! That’s right! You read that correctly!!! Scratched their hair!!! The whole thing lasted less than 10 minutes, and HR didn’t even show up at the end. They completely wasted my time!! This company has terrible character!!!!! Note: Yuanli plant

Pros

1. The company environment is clean and impressive!

2. The welfare committee puts a lot of effort into organizing activities—perhaps to ease the suffering of colleagues who are being exploited and living through tough times?

3. All the restrooms have bidet toilets XD

4. Employees who join at the same time become very close, comforting each other by sharing their grievances.

Cons

1. Military-style management: every day at 8:35 a.m. we have to do morning exercises, and on one day at the beginning of each month, we have to arrive at the restaurant before 8:20 a.m. for the monthly meeting. During the meeting, you may see the chairman verbally tearing into senior executives. I heard that in the past, one supervisor was told to leave on the spot.

2. The work environment is high-pressure and gloomy overall, and extremely unfriendly to newcomers. It depends on whether the person training you is decent... I have to say that the person who trained me happened to be very friendly, willing to share, and easy to talk to, but it still didn’t help—the company culture is simply like that!

Everyone is just watching to see how long you can last. You are only recognized as a company employee once you have stayed for six months; after a year, you are considered a veteran employee, hehe! Simply put, it is a vicious-cycle workplace environment, because the veterans were also humiliated in the same way...

3. Every department in the company works overtime every day. The IT department may be slightly better (because I often saw the lights in their office being turned off earlier XD). Overtime cannot be claimed as overtime pay; you can claim compensatory leave instead.

4. The turnover rate is very high. The company’s various positions are probably kept open continuously in case they are needed.

5. If you want to join this company, be mentally prepared. If you can stay for a year to add the experience to your résumé, many companies in the same industry will want to hire you because you will have proven that you can withstand tough conditions and heavy workloads XD

The security guard was friendly and talkative, and the Tongluo specialty snack, belly button cakes, was delicious.

Cons

The company has an arrogant attitude. HR was eager to conduct formalities-oriented tests, but forgot about the interviewee's feelings. The supervisor was even more outrageous, looking impatient throughout the entire interview. When I asked about working hours, they replied that working for more than 20 consecutive days was possible, but employees would be given one day off. I was stunned that they could speak so casually about violating the Labor Standards Act without realizing it.

In addition, although the stated working hours are eight hours a day, the company can actually require employees to routinely work four hours of overtime every day to save money, force them to take turns working weekends, and require shift work. How could this not exceed the statutory limit of 46 hours of overtime?

In conclusion, I have fairly extensive interview experience, but this was the first time I encountered a company that did not take the Labor Standards Act seriously. It had already left such a bad impression before I even joined—how could I trust this company to treat its employees well?

Pros

The colleagues are all very nice and great.

Cons

A company with severe internal friction. I work in the PM department, where the department-level manager was parachuted in and spends all day trying to snatch work from the business units, while telling the people below to figure out how to resolve the overloading themselves.

The person who was just promoted to director only knows how to push out people who are not part of their own faction, further worsening the overloading.

There are serious problems with the salary structure. A fourth-level specialist who is a fresh graduate can earn more than a third-level specialist with three years of experience by over 10,000 (the smaller the number, the more senior the position).

As long as the boss or manager takes a dislike to you, they can fire you.

I absolutely do not recommend working here.

During training, you can get to know many people.

It was great seeing the colleagues around me, as well as myself, happily move on to the next stage of life after leaving the company.

Because things can only get better, not worse.

Cons

If you’re looking for a high salary, don’t come here.

If you’re looking for dignity, don’t come here.

If you’re looking for the end of your life, come here immediately.

The entire company, from top to bottom, is filled with all kinds of unreasonable practices.

I was a low-level sales employee. Above me was a supervisor, and above them was a department director.

The department director would expose the junior supervisor’s past failures in the workplace to everyone.

The junior supervisor spent every day currying favor with the department director.

Basically, it was like a Qing Dynasty palace drama.

Colleagues got along harmoniously because you rarely see conflict among colonized peoples.

Every day was filled with bitterness, and all we could do was comfort and encourage one another.

There was severe infighting between departments. Between superiors and subordinates, there was only exploitation and blame—no assistance or leadership.

Back to the point:

My supervisor

spent every day cursing about how terrible my predecessor was, calling them a f****** person, an antisocial loner, and so on.

Every day, they scolded us young people for being ungrateful and not knowing how to give back.

Every day, they said that not everyone had the opportunity to work at a large company like E Ink, and that we should cherish it, and so on.

The funniest thing was that

for the department’s training, we had to complete a questionnaire and take a test.

The topic discussed by the colleague was the China–United States trade war.

The presenter gave a whole series of figures and keywords, and everyone hurriedly took notes and copied things down.

During the Q&A, my supervisor actually said that the colleague’s PPT font was too small to read.

They seriously wondered why we were all still able to write down the answers.

The point is, the presenter had explained everything in the presentation. You let your earwax build up to the doorway and then blame others.

I really don’t know what qualified them to become a supervisor.

The HR interview was absolutely awful! A woman with a terrible attitude kept probing into my parents’ divorce. She asked me, “So, does your mother have a job now? What does she do when she isn’t working? Does she have a boyfriend after the divorce?” I really wanted to ask her, “Excuse me, what does this have to do with my interviewing for this job?
