The working environment is very poor. Every day, I am exposed to cooking fumes and get splashed with oil. There is no additional compensation or injury allowance. The salary is very low and not proportional to the workload. For deliveries, employees even have to pay for their own fuel, and no meal is provided. The hours are also very long. It is still a responsibility-based work system, with no overtime pay and no year-end bonus. The seniority-based system is excessive. One person is doing the work of two or three people. The salary system is basically just a play on words: if performance targets are not met, employees are pressured to make up the performance shortfall with their wages. There is no such thing as a performance bonus; it is merely wordplay in the salary system. The promotion system is fundamentally poor—it is just a title to make the position look good, while the salary does not actually increase. The boss has communist-style thinking and is very good at manipulating people. They are constantly playing on personal relationships; in reality, it is simply a way to retain people through emotional pressure. They act like a god one moment and a devil the next, while pretending to be a gentleman. Recently, they also started handling food-delivery orders through Panda, which increased the workload without increasing pay. The number of orders increased, but the salary became even lower. The staffing remained the same, with only two people working. In reality, the boss has never considered the employees’ well-being, treating people like slaves and dogs. They cannot afford to pay proper wages and are constantly using personal relationships to manipulate people. All the performance is generated by the employees, yet even without losing money, employees still get deductions from their pay. If someone gets burned, they are mocked for having poor technique. If performance targets are not met, they are told they are not working hard enough. This is effectively a disguised pay cut. I have also heard that former long-term employees were driven away by the boss in the same way. This boss has no gratitude at all. Everyone, remember this: do not come work here under any circumstances. Take heed.

Pros

I can't think of any.

Cons

The working hours are very long, there is no overtime pay, and the environment is terrible. It is also a duty-based system, and the salary figures involve wordplay. There are a lot of rules in the employee handbook. One person's workload is equivalent to that of two or three people. Managers at all levels are very harsh, and the seniority system is deeply entrenched. The promotion system is poor. The workload and hours are not proportional to the salary. Basically, people who are not short of money, have ideals and a future, have a family, or want a normal life should not come work here. The only people for whom this might be beneficial are those interested in learning kung fu, those who want to open a shop, people whose lives are dark and directionless, passersby, and people on the run.

Recently, the company has also started handling Panda delivery, but it has completely failed to absorb the commission fees. Instead, it takes them out of our salaries and bonuses, as if we were subsidizing Panda’s commission fees. It is basically a disguised pay cut, using our labor to subsidize the company owner. It is truly inhumane. Performance goes up, but pay goes down—is this what you call performance??? There are no bonuses at all; the performance-based bonus system is completely a scam. It looks good on paper, but in reality, the time and labor put in are barely equal to the salary. Over the course of a year, we sometimes even end up with negative deductions. If we fail to meet the sales target, money is deducted. What a ridiculous company—making money from its workers to support itself. Liars. A complete scam.

Pros

Absolutely none.

Cons

The seniority system is really extreme. When I first joined, I didn't want to continue after just a few months. I was extremely unlucky and happened to work under someone with connections—the boss's good friend, the tall one with white hair. Not long after I joined, I heard from others that his reputation was already not very good. Anyone planning to work here should be careful around him and avoid offending him. As for salary and benefits, to be frank, the overall situation really isn't very good; the items only look good on paper. The working environment is truly poor, with absolutely no consideration for employees. I heard that people have suffered heatstroke and burns. The promotion system is really strange. There are only employees, then store managers, then supervisors. I wouldn't develop my career at this company. Whether you work as a store manager for one year or ten years, it's all the same. There was only one supervisor when I worked there, and he had been a supervisor for more than ten years. In the end, the boss gave him another title, manager, but he only made 40,000, and sometimes didn't even receive that. With more than ten years of experience, having a strange salary and only being at manager level is bizarre. I never interacted with the boss because I worked there for only a few months, but I heard what senior employees and former employees thought of him—and none of their evaluations were positive. One said he was a notorious exploitative boss; there was also talk of communist-style thinking, squeezing employees for salary deductions to make up for performance, manipulating people's feelings, being hypocritical, pretending to be benevolent, making empty promises, being overly calculating and stingy, and similar things. He would talk about the company's future direction and act as if he was helping you or treating you like family or a brother, while playing with employees' feelings. Anyway, there is much more that I have forgotten. Too many people complained. Luckily, I never knew or met this boss; otherwise, I might have ended up like them. My advice to anyone planning to work here is that you should really treat it only as a stepping-stone job. Also, don't place too much importance on the performance bonuses. Considering the overall ratio of salary to workload and hours, the bonuses don't make much difference. One long-term employee once told me that when working at Suan Fan Tian, you shouldn't care too much about the salary, or you'll find the job very painful. He didn't even look at his monthly pay; he just threw it away. It's outrageous that the boss treats subordinates this way. New employees aside, so many long-term employees are treated this way too. Anyone planning to work here should think twice.

Pros

No advantages whatsoever

Cons

The shift starts at 3:00 p.m. and ends when the store closes at midnight. After closing, it takes at least another hour to finish cleaning up. Sometimes customers arrive right at closing time to make purchases, which delays the end of the shift. In practice, we often do not get off work until after 1:30 a.m. The closing work also depends on the manager’s mood and how quickly they want to finish; otherwise, it may be even later. The basic working hours already exceed 11 hours a day. It is exhausting, hot, and smoky from cooking fumes. Two employees are simply unable to handle the workload. However, I thought it would be okay if the pay were adequate. But then… after receiving several months of wages, I was completely stunned. The pay is utterly disproportionate to the labor and time involved. On top of that, the workplace is extremely hot and poor, and we have to inhale cooking fumes. We are trading our lives for this hard-earned money. The company thinks it is not making enough money, so it also added Panda food delivery, increasing the workload while the pay remained the same—or actually became even lower—because the Panda delivery fees are effectively taken out of our share. Anyway, I will be leaving this job soon. I hope anyone looking for work who happens to see this post will absolutely not come work here. Working here is exactly as several people have described in other comments about this place: this company is truly outrageous.

There is no such thing as a performance bonus; it is merely a nominal word game in the salary system. The promotion system is fundamentally poor—it is just a nice-looking title, and the salary does not actually increase. The boss has communist-style thinking and is very good at manipulating people. They play on personal relationships all day long, supposedly valuing people, but in reality they are just using personal ties to retain employees, acting like a saint or a devil while pretending to be a gentleman. Recently, they also started handling Panda deliveries, which has increased the workload without increasing the salary. Performance targets have increased, but the salary has decreased even further. The staffing remains the same, with two people working. In reality, the boss has never considered the employees’ interests, treating people like slaves and dogs. They cannot afford to pay proper wages and play on personal relationships all day long. All performance is achieved through the employees’ efforts, yet even when there are no losses, money is still deducted from our pay. When someone gets burned, they are mocked for having poor skills. If performance targets are not met, we are told that we are not working hard enough. This is essentially an indirect pay cut. I have also heard that former long-term employees were driven away by the boss in the same way. This boss has absolutely no gratitude. It would be more suitable for them to come work here.

Basically, after seeing the employee handbook, there are no advantages. There are a lot of rules about fines, and they play a lot of games with the numbers and wording regarding salaries.

Cons

The environment is poor, the hours are long, and there is an accountability system.
