1. You can inhale the smell of dust.
2. You can listen to colleagues complain about their supervisor and experience the warmth and coldness of human relationships.
There are no drawbacks.
Honestly, I was surprised by the salary and benefits offered by Hiwin (perhaps because of my previous experience?). It was definitely worthwhile to prepare seriously for the interview.
The questionnaire is quite long and takes time to complete. It seems that considerable overtime may be required, so you should be mentally prepared for that. One question asked why the company should hire you. I mentioned some of my past experience and my expectations for future goals, which I hope to achieve at Hiwin, so overall, the interview was not difficult.
Here is a brief overview of the entire interview process:
1. It was an online interview. You need to prepare your résumé, questionnaire, academic credentials/other certificates, personal statement, and aptitude test.
2. The questionnaire contains quite a lot of questions. It covers your work expectations, work and life, views on overtime, your strengths and weaknesses, and an event that gave you the greatest sense of accomplishment or frustration.
3. There were two managers and one HR representative in the interview that day. I was not sure whether one of them was the hiring manager.
4. Self-introduction (you should prepare this in English as well), followed by questions about your previous work experience and why you left your previous job.
5. Afterward, HR briefly explained the company rules and benefits. I asked about promotions and salary increases. It seemed that these are determined based on performance evaluations. If you perform well, you may have the opportunity to be promoted early; otherwise, adjustments are reviewed annually based on performance evaluations.
I'm not really sure whether this counts as a disadvantage.
I’ll share a few of the questions I was asked during the interview. They weren’t difficult if you prepared in advance.
Self-introduction: Answer based on your own experience.
Views on overtime: In my previous job, I was also responsible for overseas accounts. To accommodate clients in different time zones, I often had to work overtime. I’m goal-oriented and can accommodate that.
Knowledge of the company’s products: I first went to the official website and YouTube to watch product videos. Fortunately, I was able to talk about some of them during the interview.

Work overtime until you’re dead tired, but the supervisors never hire anyone to help. All they do is constantly criticize you about what still needs improvement so that work efficiency can be increased.
On top of that, there are a bunch of unreasonable rules. People with work experience won’t stay here for long; usually, the people who join are fresh graduates or young women and men with little experience.
No pros
They ask interviewees to prepare a bunch of materials several days in advance, and then the interview itself takes a very long time on the day, with no guarantee of being hired. The interview basically takes more than two hours. Not recommended—it is truly speechless and extremely inefficient. The worst part is spending so long interviewing only to end up with, “Sorry, please wait for notification.”
None
They said that regardless of whether I was accepted, I would be notified of the interview result. However, after the scheduled date had passed, I emailed to ask and still received no response. Sorry, but for such a large company, is this interview process really acceptable?
【2016 Interview】The interviewer was very nice, which helped reduce the nervousness. Although the interview started a little later than scheduled, I did not have to wait too long.
HR was unclear about the situation and did not clearly explain the position when speaking with the interviewee by phone. Since I happened to be a newbie and did not know how to ask about the job duties, I only discovered upon arriving at the site that HR had applied for a position on my behalf that was not the one I wanted to apply for at all!
The supervisor stated that sales staff cannot have weekends off and must cooperate with flexible working hours and flexible days off.
There are a ton of opportunities for overtime.
If a new hire who just joined is assigned to a mentor who works shifts,
they have to work shifts too.
The key point is that there is no allowance for it.
It would be understandable if new hires weren’t eligible for bonuses,
but they don’t even provide an allowance for working shifts alongside the mentor.
You only get 30 minutes for meals, which is not included in working hours.
Also,
even when you have annual leave, it’s not easy to get time off approved.
Think it over carefully before applying.
The department supervisor and HR are both very serious about interviewing and recruiting. If you are not satisfied with this department, you can request an interview with a supervisor from another department.
My sincere suggestion is that it would be best to let interviewees actually take a look at the workpieces.
As long as they know how heavy the workpieces are, how long loading and unloading takes, and whether the work can actually be done, everyone will have a clear understanding.
I worked there a few years ago. The salary was fairly decent. If you don’t have experience, go there to build up your résumé, and your next job will be better!
I don’t have a good impression of the HR department. They don’t assign a job grade until after you’ve worked there for three months; during the first three months, everyone is uniformly classified as a new hire. Later, however, I found that I had been downgraded, which felt very disrespectful.
The company has a ton of rules, and mistakes aren’t handled consistently, so you’ll need to pray for good luck. If your supervisor supports you, a serious offense may be reduced to a minor one, or even overlooked entirely.
This company really loves overtime. Although they provide overtime snacks and overtime pay, you have to be willing to spend the time at the company, so it’s best to bring a stack of books to work to keep from getting bored while working overtime.
They absolutely love holding training sessions on holidays or after hours. If you don’t have a family or have plenty of time, you might want to consider it...

Meetings after working hours cannot be claimed as overtime
1. Two-year childcare allowance
2. Operations profit-sharing bonus (paid proportionally)
3. Mid-year bonus (paid proportionally), year-end bonus (paid proportionally), professional bonus, shift allowance
4. Patent bonuses, project bonuses, product sales bonuses
5. Domestic and overseas trade shows and booth staffing (for overseas trade shows, employees must sign an agreement with the company and serve for six months to one year; breach of contract requires repayment on a prorated basis)
6. Free health checkups for senior employees
7. Free massage services
8. Employees working overtime until 7:00 p.m. can receive one of the following for free: 2 steamed buns, 2 pan-fried buns, or 1 millet cake
9. Employees working overtime until 8:00 p.m. can order a free boxed meal
10. Bonuses for the three major festivals—in the form of gift vouchers (partially funded by employees’ own welfare contributions)
11. Birthday gift—in the form of gift vouchers (partially funded by employees’ own welfare contributions)
1. A monthly morning assembly is held; employees must clock in and assemble at 08:08. Those who are late are fined NT$200
2. Official working hours begin at 08:30, but employees must clock in at 08:20 to participate in group exercises; arriving after that counts as being late
3. Employees at job grade 5 or above must rotate as the duty supervisor (morning shift, evening shift, or holiday duty) approximately 2–3 times per year. Morning duty is from 06:20 to 08:30 and pays NT$300; evening duty is from 06:00 to 23:40 and pays NT$600, with work starting at 10:00 the next day; holiday duty is from 09:00 to 18:00 and pays NT$1,000
4. Employees must lead the exercises in rotation. After the exercises, everyone must assemble at attention and chant: “Professional standards; enthusiasm for work; professional ethics”
5. Six Knowledge Growth Days per year (classes held on Saturdays), 3–4 promotion training sessions (classes held on Saturdays), and 1–2 courses organized by the department (classes held on Saturdays). Scheduling is flexible; in principle, completing six sessions is sufficient
6. Overtime is used for meetings
7. Sometimes there is a full-company inspection after work. Employees must open their personal backpacks for inspection, and instruments are used to check whether they are carrying any workpieces. Normally, motorcycle storage compartments must be opened for inspection, and car trunks must be opened for inspection when driving
8. Smart phones are not allowed. Anyone caught with one may receive a reprimand or a minor disciplinary demerit, depending on the unit supervisor
9. New employees must be mobilized to travel north to attend the master’s thesis award event (meal allowance: NT$100). This is held once a year, for a total of two times; leave may be requested (Saturday)
We have to do morning exercises every day, and it seems we are not allowed to walk side by side, perhaps because they are afraid employees will discuss the company.
As can be seen from the financial statements, its cash flow is problematic~ Think twice before going. It is only suitable for people who work hard, spend time working overtime, and do not use their brains to survive. A company with more than 3,000 employees uses an operating system designed for a 30-person company. If you think you can accept that, go ahead and apply.
