Pros

Some colleagues are nice~ but they're almost all gone.

Cons

There are too many to count; below are just the things I’ve recently dreamed about.

As long as a product doesn’t sell well, you need to be prepared to be reassigned or fired.

Then they use the same scripted line, saying that you haven’t done anything wrong, while carrying out all of the above.

And then there’s xx Marketing—it’s basically a mass grave. Everyone who’s disliked is sent there. The key point is that the managers have even less experience than their subordinates. xx Marketing does the things that neither the sales nor marketing teams want to do; it’s basically a glorified sales assistant role.

...Then, at the end of February, a bunch of people in marketing were fired, and the director of a certain department was also forced into retirement.

Those with ambitions and ideals really shouldn’t come here, because you’ll only end up doing a bunch of crappy tasks and signing a bunch of meaningless application forms.

The above was all just a dream~

Bad money drives out good money

The sick infect the healthy

Not only is the management sick, but the company is physically sick too!

One by one, listlessly coughing and cross-infecting one another!

Unhealthy employees mean an unhealthy company!

Institutional workplace bullying: everything requires an application to pass through layer upon layer of hurdles. They use card requests and rejected requests to make things difficult for you!

Whether you’re taking leave or applying for expenses,

the rules are not explained clearly, and requests are rejected for no apparent reason.

The approval process is terribly inefficient.

They give you extremely, extremely tight and unreasonable deadlines, demanding that you complete projects. This is especially common in the PM department. Working overtime until 10 p.m. is routine, as is working on holidays.

No pros; the HR staff at this company are still exactly the same pathetic mess.

Cons

Fuck, they scheduled an online interview with me and then showed up late themselves, without even saying a single word of apology.

After joining, for some reason they started asking a bunch of stupid questions, like why I didn’t directly choose an industry in the consumer goods category back then. What a fucking stupid question. If I really wasn’t suitable, they shouldn’t have invited me to interview in the first place.

The entire process ended in less than 15 minutes. It was unbelievably ridiculous. Whose time exactly were you trying to waste? The HR staff at this company are truly awful—so awful it’s unbelievable.

And during the questioning, because it was an online interview, the audio may not have been very clear. Yet this HR person actually loudly made a “huh?” sound at me. Their expression was truly disgusting. I must have been incredibly unlucky to come interview at your company! Terrible!

Pros

The first interview was a video interview with HR. The questions were quite professional, and they were also very willing to share about the company’s organization and culture. They explained the subsequent interview process, including details such as going to the company for an interview with the manager, so I could prepare accordingly.

For the second interview, I took time off to go to the company for an in-person interview. The company lobby was bright and lively. I heard it used to be LINE’s office, and the conference room equipment was also very new. While I was waiting for the interview, HR even gave me some of the company’s candy—I never expected to get candy at an interview!! The manager was very polite during the interview but had strong logical thinking. They also explained the work content and difficulties I might encounter in the job. Communication was quite clear. After passing the second interview, I still had to arrange a third interview with the highest-level manager. The manager also explained the opportunities for future development there. Overall, I felt that the company puts effort into nurturing its employees.

Cons

The location is in Neihu, so commuting to work would take more time. The salary offered was not much higher than my current salary, so I decided to pass.

Pros

At least the current management still has things to learn. If you really follow the company’s procedures every day, you won’t be afraid of anyone coming to find fault. As for those who left, all I can say is that there are jobs better suited to them. Everyone naturally has different needs and ideas about work.

If you make it sound so convincing, then gather all the evidence and send it directly to the company’s audit department. Talking nonsense and making things up—everyone can do that. Now, child, be good, go home, wash up, and go to sleep.

The company is for capable people to stay; those who create no value will eventually be eliminated.

A manager who helps the company save costs is precisely the kind of capable person we’re talking about.

Cons

Incapable people are envious.

Pros

1. All relevant rules and benefits were explained very clearly

2. Everything else was fairly standard

Cons

The HR staff seemed not to know what kind of person the manager was looking for. During the interview with the manager, I felt that the conditions the manager provided were very clear. However, HR seemed to be making things up; perhaps they themselves are not from the food industry or there were communication difficulties. In any case, I spent over NT$2,000 on a high-speed rail ticket and took a day off work, only to waste my time. Before the interview, it would have been better to confirm by phone with HR exactly what qualifications the manager was looking for. At the time, I thought that HR at such a large company should be very experienced and in sync with the managers, but apparently I was expecting too much. I have no complaints about the manager; HR was the problem.

Pros

The pharmacy really has no advantages.

Cons

A colleague who has been gone for almost half a year has still written such a long piece. It seems the emotions of those who were still working there before were really being held under a lot of pressure.

I’m truly grateful that I wasn’t in the pharmacy team. Every so often, you would hear the sound of someone hitting a desk or throwing a mouse. Even sitting far away, you could still feel terrified and shaken. Their treatment of employees is extremely harsh. You really need to think twice before joining and consider what kind of supervisor you might encounter.

Watching them work every day, you can see how tense they are. It’s really inhumane—it’s just a job, so why take it this far? They make it seem as if they’re carrying out a massacre.

If you’re joining to work in the pharmacy, you really need to think twice. I’m also relieved that there is no rotation between teams; otherwise, I would have ended up destroying myself long ago.

Pros

Most colleagues are nice.

Cons

1. New employee training is haphazard.

2. Many internal procedures still require paper-based approval submissions.

3. Accounts for a frequently used internal system may be shared by multiple people.

4. A certain senior executive seems to rule over everyone’s lives and deaths like God.

5. A certain senior executive publicly says who their godson is; their career prospects... are easy to imagine. (Those who consider themselves not well-liked should be especially careful.)

6. A company that has absolutely no respect for its employees, laying people off recklessly under the banner of reform.

In short, those who don’t want to be mistreated or humiliated can seemingly save themselves the time of attending the interview~

Pros

The colleagues are all nice.

Cons

I had a dream that a certain company was extremely authoritarian. Basically, whatever a certain senior executive said was treated as the truth, and they were quite rude when speaking to employees. In general, turnover was very high across departments, because if something was not approved by that senior executive, you could suddenly be asked to pack up and leave one day. Those who were lucky enough, or who could win this person’s favor, could survive quite well.

Listen to me: if you want to develop your career in FMCG, absolutely do not come here to be mistreated. This is a company that dismisses people arbitrarily; if they discover that your core values differ from theirs, they will quickly eliminate you. Officially, they say they dismiss people who do not do their work. Ask me anything, and I’ll add more details later.

Pros

People who want to slack off and do nothing can join; the company has been a complete mess lately due to reforms.

Cons

There are no systems or procedures. If you are applying for the newly established xx Marketing Department, be careful—the department may be eliminated at any time. I heard that many people were inexplicably laid off. Everyone should be careful: whatever a certain senior manager says is treated as gospel, and basically no one in the company’s Marketing Department dares to voice an opinion. It is an extremely authoritarian, one-person-rule company. I only heard this and dreamed it, though~

After arriving at the agreed-upon interview time, I was told that the interviewing manager had been called away by a higher-up to deal with something else, and I ended up waiting for nearly two hours.

No one came to tell me approximately how much longer I would have to wait.

It felt completely disrespectful to the interviewee.

Pros

Colleagues are generally easy to get along with, and everything else follows the Labor Standards Act.

Cons

The Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli areas are all handled by the Zhongli office. If you apply for a sales position in the PX channel, the actual work is basically the same as merchandising; it is just called sales because that sounds better. The job involves visiting PX Mart every day, with four or five stores per day (covering Hsinchu is even more exhausting because the round-trip commute alone takes nearly two hours. After deducting a one-hour break, and with about an hour typically spent from arriving at the company until leaving, nearly four hours are taken up by fixed time. I really do not recommend covering Hsinchu). The supervisor often asks how much stock you replenished and how much you accomplished that day, and how long it took, and watches the timestamps on your photos every day. (If you visit fewer than three stores in Hsinchu, you will be severely reprimanded.) Management uses a merchandising-style approach to manage sales staff. I do not recommend this position to people with sales experience, because this supervisor has never covered other channels and only thinks that sales in other channels are declining while PX Mart improves every year (but you are not the one negotiating those amounts, so what is there to be arrogant about?). He has difficulty understanding other perspectives when discussing matters and only insists that you follow his way of doing things. When there is an issue, he tells you to find the team leader. Whatever you do, do not go to him—because he will not help anyway.

Working hours are 9:00–18:00 every day. Other colleagues usually return to the company at 6:30 (which is considered normal) or nearly 7:00 (if you return too early, the supervisor will ask how many stores you visited). After that, organizing the data and photos takes about another hour. The supervisor often holds meetings with you after 6:00 p.m. to review problems with your data. He usually does not review them with you in the morning, so when the review happens at night, you can imagine how late it gets. They do not clock out, so no overtime pay is generated. The longer the supervisor talks to you, the shorter your break time becomes.

This supervisor really likes chewing betel nuts, so if you apply for PX, you should recognize him at a glance. If your interview is not conducted by HR, you may have a chance.

Once, on National Day, the supervisor suddenly informed us that there would be a PX Mart Double Ten Day event the following day and asked us to provide support. Who would dare say no? Compensatory leave was provided, but the event had already been scheduled—it was really... I’m not even exaggerating.

Regarding leave, once I caught a severe cold and took sick leave. When I went to work the next day, the supervisor called me into a small room to talk and asked what illness I had. I said it was probably influenza, and he actually replied, “Not a sexually transmitted disease, right?” He said that since I could still walk and talk, why had I taken leave? I told him that coming to work would seriously affect my performance and compromise driving safety. He completely failed to understand and only replied, “If you take leave, no one will help handle your area.” He completely disregards employee safety and also engages in verbal bullying.

He often targets people rather than addressing the issue, so do not upset him under any circumstances.

There is often laughter in the other channels, but this channel has absolutely none—it is genuinely bizarre. If you want to join this company and work in this channel, I recommend avoiding Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli. Other regions would be better. Your mood will be brighter and your outlook broader.

Pros

Why is this position continuously being opened? I worked there briefly (in 2016), and am providing the following for everyone’s reference:

Pros: For people who have never worked at a large company, it is a very good environment for gaining experience. The company uses the SAP system, allowing employees to gain experience with various raw materials and packaging materials, as well as the process of negotiating with domestic and overseas suppliers. The people there are generally friendly, and many employees have stayed for a long time.

Cons: The business is entirely focused on the domestic market, so upper management has a short-sighted outlook, and its concepts and thinking do not align with current trends. It can only rely on past successes, in addition to having many complicated procedures and paper-based regulations, making it impossible to focus on core responsibilities. The department is currently managed by Manager A. They are capable, but their leadership and ability to recognize talent need improvement—not to mention assigning the wrong person to manage subordinates; four employees under that person left within a year, and that person was ultimately fired. The atmosphere within the department is fairly harmonious.

Overall: Average. It is a company where you can gain experience, but I do not recommend staying for a long time.
