Pros

Large company; it won’t go under.

Cons

1. The product department works overtime without overtime pay.

2. The bonus calculation is not transparent.

3. There is a 1.5-hour lunch break, but in practice you leave work half an hour later.

4. The company is extremely traditional. Employees have to wear uniforms, and the HR department acts like a uniform-inspection squad, conducting inspections from time to time. Even on Fridays, when casual clothes are permitted, attire is still inspected. If you are found to be noncompliant, your year-end bonus will be deducted. Strangely, the company operates under a “one country, two systems” arrangement: senior employees in the Marketing and IT departments are allowed to wear casual clothes.

5. Each department operates like a small company, and the bonus calculation differs across departments.

6. Office staff have flexible working hours, but supervisors hint that you should arrive early.

7. The workplace appears harmonious on the surface, but there is infighting and factionalism.

At least they won’t PUA job applicants (?

Cons

I went for an interview a few months ago.

It seemed like the big company didn’t have an HR department.

The manager sent the 104 job posting directly.

The interview was also conducted entirely by one manager from start to finish.

They didn’t explain the working hours or benefits; they only asked the interviewee what they thought about working overtime.

The manager didn’t look at my résumé until the interview itself, making notes on it while reading. Throughout the interview, the manager kept crossing their legs (perhaps they treated the company like home).

They asked the job applicant many questions, but when the applicant asked some questions in return, this manager would only say: “Then answer my %@$#./ˋˊ4# first.”

In my five years of working since entering the workforce, this was the first time I had had such an unpleasant interview!

Note: It’s a route to a country Taiwanese people love to visit—please avoid it!

It feels like it’s only a matter of time before other travel agencies put them out of business. The brand image is too outdated and lacks positioning.

After going to the interview today, I feel there’s a reason they can’t find people. No wonder there are so many vacancies on job websites.

Pros

1. Overtime is not encouraged

2. The colleagues are generally quite nice

Cons

1. High salary, low reported income; the calculation methods for labor and health insurance and bonuses are always impossible to understand

2. The salary structure affects the amount of your future labor pension

3. HR's work efficiency is extremely poor and highly inaccurate. They can hand A's employment contract to B, write the wrong content in an offer letter, and require repeated reminders before sending a corrected letter again (which may still be wrong)

4. On the surface, it appears open-minded and free, and claims to be proactively transforming, but deep down it still has the soul of a traditional industry

5. Money can be deducted for anything; there are far too many rules

6. Your supervisor suggests that you can do A, but actually expects you to reach the level of B. It's impossible to understand what they are thinking

7. Internal communication is extremely inefficient

From the supervisor not preparing a résumé, it already felt like things weren’t going well.

They also take overtime for granted, calling it a big family.

But there’s absolutely nothing appealing about it.

Benefits and bonuses weren’t mentioned at all.

Pros

The internal colleagues are very kind and help one another.

Cons

1. More than half of the salary is deliberately classified as bonuses, resulting in employees receiving very little in future labor pension benefits.

2. The supposed holiday gift money and bonuses are all fake—they are merely unsold goods foisted on employees by the company.

3. You absolutely have to build good relationships with the owner's relatives and old hands such as assistant vice presidents; otherwise, you may not even know why you were forced out.

4. The company cannot afford to hire senior staff. Most employees are inexperienced newcomers fresh out of training at the Institute for Information Industry, and the code quality is extremely poor.

5. The company would rather spend heavily on consultants than listen to the advice and judgment of existing employees.

6. All existing systems are crammed into the same cluster, with no namespace separation; everything is placed in the default namespace. As you can imagine, if one pod fails, everything will malfunction. Yet the CIO and the assistant vice presidents are still proud of how successfully they have transformed the company.

7. If you are forced to resign, it may have nothing to do with your abilities. Perhaps the boss's son wants to buy a house and a car, so the accounting department needs to free up some money.

8. This company always calculates salaries as base salary + position allowance + bonus. The base salary is always only 28,000, which conveniently allows this old company to underreport employees' salaries and profit from labor insurance premiums without paying its fair share.

9. The hierarchy is extremely rigid. You must address people by their exact titles; otherwise, those who consider themselves old-timers at the company will hold a grudge, find an opportunity to retaliate, and you may not even know what happened to you.

10. The company has now become heavily family-run. The original partner-founders were driven out and replaced by relatives of the chairman with the surname Li.

I did not directly experience any advantages.

Cons

I was asked about my marital status during the interview.

I can only say that even if there were other advantages, this directly brought the score to 0.

Average~

Cons

At the time of the interview, it had already been at least five years ago, and because 求職天眼通 was not available then, I did not write it down.

I don't know whether 東南旅行社 is a company with traditional thinking, but it seemed unfriendly and discriminatory toward women. At the time, I went to interview for a programmer position. Because I was a woman, the interviewer asked me, “Do you currently have a boyfriend?” At that moment, I only felt that the question was strangely inexplicable. It was the first time I had ever been asked something like that (and I felt very uncomfortable). Later, the interviewer explained, “Because we want to determine whether you will get married in the future.” In other words, whether I would have children later, need to take frequent leave to care for them, and so on.

I wondered: If I had been born male, would I have been asked such a question? In today’s society, many women also go out to earn money and support their families, struggling in society just as hard as men. Why does it feel as though this kind of responsibility is still exclusively assigned to women? If they use this kind of thinking in interviews, does that mean there is a possibility that female employees’ salaries are heavily discounted, or that they select people based on gender? Being looked down on in an interview like this felt truly awful. Even years later, I still remember this unpleasant feeling deeply.

The work itself is neither good nor bad, menial nor noble, right nor wrong; it is only a matter of whether it suits what you need at this stage of your life. Here are some points for you to consider:

1. Punctual working hours, with an early start: 8:30–18:00, and lunch break from 12:00–13:30

2. Year-end bonus

3. A standard, traditional, long-established company with more than 100 employees

Regardless of department, the management style, work practices, team culture, cross-departmental processes, the company’s overall physical and software environments, and the evaluation system all reflect old-fashioned thinking: slow and lacking flexibility.

4. It wants to carry out a digital transformation of the travel business, but in reality, people who are merely pretending to sleep cannot be awakened—it is an ostrich-like act of self-deception.

5. Senior employees who have served for more than three years are mainly between 40 and 55 years old. There are many managers, deputy managers, assistant vice presidents, and vice presidents,

most of whom lack substantive digital experience and largely operate with the traditional mindset of a travel agency.

6. People who are entrepreneurial or more independently minded find it difficult to survive here.

7. Once you become accustomed to this model, your skills tree is destined to wither.

8. If senior management has no fresh thinking, no matter how much the branches and limbs grow, it will all be in vain.

9. The promotion and evaluation system is a vague white exam paper: you can buzz in and answer, but you cannot see the results.

If it is not suitable for you, the above may all be drawbacks.

If it is suitable for you, the above are all advantages.

Cons

The receptionists who greeted me were very pretty. Looking at the marketing department, they seemed to be around their twenties or thirties.

Cons

After entering the meeting room and finishing my résumé, a middle-aged woman came in and said that the interviewer was out... She only asked briefly about my experience and why I wanted to come. Later, she just said she would pass my résumé on to the manager, then stood up and dismissed me....

It felt pointless to come for the interview. I seemed to have been played.....

As I left the meeting room, one of the employees even seemed surprised and said to the middle-aged woman that I spoke Japanese very quickly.

I thought, isn’t speaking quickly a good thing....... I spent more than half an hour preparing, only to get less than three minutes of an interview that could hardly be called an interview...

Leaving work on time—the veterans definitely make their escape faster than you.

Cons

Salary details that you'll never be able to understand

An old-fashioned company, including the Internet department

Proposals are basically always rejected. Managers often make decisions based on gut feeling and can't provide guidance to newcomers.

They say you're not good enough but can't explain how to improve.

The turnover rate is quite high

Every department has a whole bunch of associate vice presidents and vice presidents who have nothing better to do all day than nitpick work progress. They also find meaningless tasks for everyone to do. Even non-sales back-office staff have to check the company’s LINE after work; if they don’t deal with something promptly, they’ll be chewed out the next day. A bunch of people who got in through connections can slack off without having to worry, while those without connections are criticized all day long. When the company’s performance is poor and revenue declines, they blame frontline employees for not putting enough effort into their work and not caring about the company, along with all sorts of other excuses. Normally, you have no idea why the company employs so many associate vice presidents and vice presidents. Being one minute late to work results in a pay deduction, but there’s no perfect-attendance bonus for arriving on time. There are no bonuses for the Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, or Lunar New Year; instead, they give you a bunch of unsold, dead-stock products and then make you pay the taxes on them for the company.

Cons

All of the above are advantages.

You can’t finish all the Royal Kaoliang liquor (not Kin Kaoliang, okay?).

You pay less in labor and health insurance premiums.

You can leave work on time, but your supervisor will say you’re not working hard enough.

The year-end bonus is based on your basic salary (the roast chicken is the one mentioned above~).

People who know how to talk are a good fit (they can keep getting raises for you; whatever you want, they’ll buy it for you).

People with someone powerful to cling to are also a good fit (they can create a special position for you and make you a supervisor).

If there are any issues with your abilities, education, or experience, meeting the above two points means none of them are a problem.

Whatever the problem is, it’s because we weren’t serious or didn’t work hard enough.

There used to be uniforms; now the dress code is considered pretty good.

Supervisors make up approximately 15% of this department.

If you’re a supervisor, you don’t have to follow the dress and grooming regulations.

It’s called a “happy company.”

As long as you appear very proactive, you can name your salary.

You start working as soon as you join (there is no training).

Save the company money: if you pay 300 less in labor and health insurance premiums, the company can save 700.

Leaving work on time

Suitable for people looking for a quiet, low-pressure job

Cons

The overall pace is very slow

The company's age range is concentrated between 45 and 55

There is a significant communication gap

The redesign has been ongoing for three years and still isn't finished

Not suitable for young people

The website team has a serious lack of internet expertise and experience

It's very important to get on the good side of influential people

There is an endless supply of Kaoliang liquor around the holidays (inventory?)

Sausages during the Mid-Autumn Festival as well (the kind sold at traditional markets)

Be careful not to be pressured into drinking at dinners with senior management

There are no SOPs

There is no training

You have to figure everything out yourself

Senior employees often don't know the answer when asked

After resigning, you have to take another day off to collect your check

A large amount of money is withheld in advance when you resign—every last cent is deducted

Openly evades taxes; they figure the Labor Bureau won't catch them

In the midst of transformation, there are many things you can do.

Cons

1. HR is basically the discipline monitor.

They keep checking all day whether your clothes meet the requirements, and whether you are wearing the company ID badge.

2. The company is traditional, making transformation difficult.

3. The company is like a school, with punishments such as major demerits, minor demerits, and warnings.

4. The pay statement is impossible to understand. The salary is broken down into a complete mess, and there is even an item for employee advances?

5. At the end of every year, an entire sum of income tax is inexplicably deducted... There is also an inexplicable annual bonus (which you basically never receive), yet it is directly offset on the payroll statement. You do not receive this inexplicable bonus, but you still have to pay supplementary National Health Insurance premiums.
