Pros

Many products developed by the company offer employee discounts.

Cons

There is basically no training at all; you are completely left to fend for yourself, and your supervisor may even lecture you for being too passive and say that you are not suited for the job.

Everyone, including the supervisors, is rather calculating. They appear friendly on the surface but talk negatively about other departments in their respective work group chats. In particular, the atmosphere between the sales and planning teams is very poor.

The direct supervisor I had while working there seemed to have only ever worked in an office and gave the impression of looking down on service-industry and other labor-intensive work. As a result, they often made assumptions and believed that things new employees were supposedly expected to know were common sense, even though they really were not. Taking leave once because something came up was enough for them to assume that the employee would frequently take leave in the future and be unable to perform the job. They were also very fond of nitpicking; decisions that the other team members thought were fine were considered unacceptable only by this supervisor.

That said, there are also good supervisors who are willing to communicate with and understand their employees. I learned a great deal from chatting with one such supervisor.

The job pushed me to the point of almost making an appointment with a psychiatrist. People with high stress tolerance may be able to learn something here, but anyone considering working here should choose their department carefully.

Cons

1. Before the interview, they provide an assignment to bring along with your basic personal information on the day of the interview (printed out and submitted in hard copy). Even a large digital company is stingy enough to save on the cost of basic paper, which feels very petty; moreover, they will not tell you whether your answers meet their requirements. They may even use it as reference material for dealing with their clients.

2. There were two written tests on the day of the interview, which completely caught me off guard because I had not been informed about them at all beforehand. The first test covered English, general knowledge of Chinese culture, geography and humanities, logic, mathematics, and workplace awareness—56 questions in total, with 40 minutes allotted. No calculator was provided; only one sheet of A4 paper was given for calculations. The questions were about things that would never be used at work. It felt like taking a college entrance exam. Did they think I had just entered the workforce? I really don’t know what the point was of testing me on these things for the position I applied for. During the interview, they even said this was an “aptitude test.” Do they think I’m a three-year-old? 🙄

The second test covered basic knowledge and content related to Google advertising. I have no complaints about this part.

3. When it came time for the interview, I originally thought that since the two written tests had already wasted more than an hour, the interview itself would be shorter. Unexpectedly, they mostly asked irrelevant questions, such as: What is the latest book you read? Have you ever been to Tokyo? How would your close friends describe you? What is the difference between a large company and a small company? And so on. If you answered the questions, they would keep probing and relentlessly pressing you, as if they would not stop until they forced you to reveal the “truth.” The interview lasted two hours. It was scheduled for 2:00 p.m., but I did not finish until nearly 5:30 p.m., wasting a full three hours of my time.

4. This job requires signing a two-year contract. If you leave before completing two years, the penalty is NT$60,000. Since the company will let everyone learn during the course of the job, a NT$60,000 penalty for breaching the contract is apparently considered just right.

The above was only the first-stage interview. The second-stage interview would be with the chairman, but HR asked me to first complete two Google Skillshop certifications and then get back to them. They would arrange the interview afterward, saying that my Google test results were not ideal.

If I’m not the person you’re looking for, just reject me directly. Why waste so much of my time? I don’t understand why they couldn’t simply stop while things were still acceptable. If the company is looking for someone with experience, then state that clearly on 104 Job Bank instead of writing “experience not required.” Otherwise, being humiliated again during the interview is genuinely infuriating.

Large companies need a grand production and expect us to overcome every possible obstacle just to reserve our most valuable time for them.

If you are thinking of applying for an interview at this company, please think twice.

Pros

◆ Fixed annual salary increase of $1,500–$2,000

◆ Most of the time, there is no overtime

◆ The work is relatively straightforward

For a design position, the salary and benefits are considered quite good.

Cons

◆ Those who build good relationships can get promoted and receive raises extremely quickly; ability is basically not taken into account

◆ Some of the work by senior in-house designers is worse than that of recent university graduates; the aesthetic judgment is lacking

◆ Managers occasionally come up with sudden ideas that take up everyone’s time with meetings, resulting in situations where you have to work unpaid overtime at home

◆ They love to paint an overly rosy picture and talk about unrealistic future prospects; don’t get your hopes up—just listen and move on

◆ There are many two-faced people who smile to your face while scheming behind your back. Unless you are naturally rather insensitive, you may find it somewhat painful to stay

There are not many opportunities to work with high-quality clients.

Be careful: if you stay too long and later move on, you may not have many presentable projects to show.

Even if you are lucky enough to encounter one, the company may not give you enough time to do your best work.

Overall, although this is a workplace that spends all day telling you to improve your abilities and offering positive encouragement,

in practice it is more suitable for people who have no goals, aspirations, or passion for design, and who do not mind being used as a manager’s go-to tool person.

Before interviewing with this company, I had also looked up many relevant reviews. They may have all been from several years ago, so there were some differences from what I actually experienced. I have now successfully joined the company, so I’d like to share what the interview and my first few days of work have been like:

1. There are quite a few stages in the interview process, which shows that the company is thorough.

2. I was interviewed by three managers during the process. It was quite pleasant and relaxed, so there was no need to feel too much pressure. The interviewers were all very friendly, and it felt like we were simply chatting and getting to know each other~ (They even walked me out when I left.)

3. The notification process was very fast. I received notice of the next interview stage or an offer within about 3–4 days, and emails were also answered quickly.

4. The work environment isn’t as quiet and serious as reviews in various places make it sound. It’s a fairly flat organization. Although everyone really does mainly focus on their own work, people discuss problems with one another, and snacks are even passed around in the afternoon. (The work environment may be quite subjective and varies from person to person.)

Cons

As for the drawbacks, I haven’t really encountered any so far, so I’ll first mention the aspects that have been troubling or stressing me out at the moment.

(Mainly, it’s pressure I’m putting on myself.)

The training is very comprehensive, and there is genuinely quite a lot of progress to make every day. Although the manager training me said that if I couldn’t keep up or felt the pace was a little fast, I could discuss it with him and adjust the schedule, I still put pressure on myself to complete the day’s progress~

Pros

The company is large and represents all kinds of products, so there are many products to sell. It also has R&D capabilities.

Similar to insurance commissions, bonuses accumulate for life. Salespeople at the assistant manager level or above who have been doing this for more than three or four years generally do not need to develop new business; they mostly rely on referrals from existing customers and company-provided leads.

Salespeople only need to take care of their own work. The company hardly manages them at all—performance is king.

Suitable for highly independent salespeople who want to make money.

Cons

The company is very quiet and traditional in its ways, unlike what one might expect from an advertising company.

Newcomers are not given leads and must start by learning cold outreach. Those without experience will progress slowly at first.

The base salary is not high, so income depends on commissions. If things do not get off the ground at first, you will have to rely on your savings.

Management styles vary. Having someone who guides you makes a difference, and you can get up to speed quickly.

Employees are required to clock in and out.

Cons

The most disrespectful company I have ever interviewed with.

After entering, filling out the information, and taking the written test took an hour and a half. The interviewer came in and only said that your desired salary was not possible, then asked what the lowest amount you could accept was. After I gave a figure and she rejected it, it would be perfectly reasonable to part on good terms, right?

No.

The interviewer simply turned around, switched off the lights, and left, quickly returning to her own seat. She did not even do the most basic things, such as walking me to the door or showing me where the exit was.

I applied for a copywriting position. The interviewer was a woman who, according to her, was a team leader, with someone above her. I do not expect the interview to be pleasant or for us to immediately hit it off, and I have no idea how capable this interviewer actually is.

However, she is the face of the company she represents, yet she did not even display the most basic courtesy and professionalism. At the very least, the applicant had spent money on transportation and taken the time to come there. Even if we could not agree on the salary, she should still have shown some respect, right?

Pros

1. Since this is a digital media advertising company, being able to communicate directly with social media platforms and receive system updates firsthand is a great advantage.

2. There is training and an advertising certification exam.

3. The interview, onboarding, and resignation procedures are comprehensive.

4. It is a company that is “very law-abiding yet financially powerful and hugely influential.” It probably makes quite a lot from breach-of-contract penalties, lol.

5. Everything was made clear before the interview. There is a contract to sign, breach-of-contract clauses, and “as long as you work according to the SOP, there is no such thing as overtime.”

Cons

Fresh graduates and inexperienced newcomers probably won’t think too much about the advantages above—the devil is in the details.

1. Everything has two sides. If you want to work at such a “large” company, you have to cooperate with the company’s arrangements and follow its decisions.

2. The supervisors’ standards are extremely high, so people with low intelligence or low EQ may not be suitable. (The high intelligence you think you have is not the high intelligence they mean, and the high EQ you think you have really is not the high EQ they mean.)

3. There is training, but the training period and detailed breakdown of related costs are not clearly explained. (I strongly recommend that anyone considering trying it ask thoroughly about the breach-of-contract clauses, the training, and the details of expenses paid by the company. If the company cannot provide them, I sincerely advise against rushing in and trying it yourself.)

4. If you notice something is wrong, it is best to gather evidence and protect yourself as much as possible. Regretting it later is extremely painful.

The benefits are good, but it seems you have to meet the seniority requirements for all of them.

Cons

It’s still quite a walk from the MRT station. The atmosphere at the company is heavy, and the receptionist didn’t look particularly well or smile either. The interview also included a test. The whole process took three hours, which was a complete waste of time. The interviewer spent only a little time chatting; the rest was spent on written tests.

Pros

1. Large company

2. Fill out an application form

3. Aptitude test (Chinese, English, mathematics, logic)

4. The supervisor explains the rules upfront: the work is demanding and exhausting, you will go to bed very late (after work, you have to continue working once you get home), and their word is final

5. For the first six months, the company provides a base salary plus performance-based pay (once you reach a certain performance level, you can become a team leader, etc.)

7. The supervisor is serious and very strict, with extensive hands-on experience—a very capable supervisor

8. After six months, there is no base salary (if you do not meet the performance target, you will be paid the basic salary; if you meet the target the following month, the previous month's salary will be deducted)

Cons

Upon entering the company, the atmosphere is tense

I never got in, so I don't know what the advantages are.

Cons

Located in the Nangang Software Park, it’s still more than a 10-minute walk from the MRT station.

The job requires handling everything from requirements interviews and planning to architectural design. In addition to a new system, you also have to take over a legacy system with no documentation. I suspect the manager doesn’t understand it either, and there are only two colleagues.

During the interview, the manager made a lot of demands and emphasized that engineers don’t work overtime—in other words, engineers don’t get overtime pay.

They dodged the questions by arguing.

If you’re willing to be a fool and treat your supervisor’s words as absolute—when they say one, it’s one—this is a good place.

There are many smiling tigers. Keep it up.

Pros

1. The company offers good benefits for the three major holidays (provided that employees have worked there for at least one year); all other benefits and salaries are implemented in accordance with the law.

2. The position advertised by the company is for an employee who will obediently carry out tasks and follow the blueprint in the mind of the group's senior management. It is not a company where employee teamwork and communication can foster innovation and cohesion.

3. Before demanding that the company's promotion system be完善, it is recommended that you first assess your own educational background before raising the issue.

4. The atmosphere within the company department is lively, but the turnover rate is high.
