The company lacks a sound performance-audit system for managers, resulting in a certain manager who:
1. Sets salaries solely according to educational background, so a blank slate from a prestigious university may earn more than you despite your abilities.
2. Lacks managerial ability, causing the team to do a great deal of futile work and waste several months of the entire team’s成果, which is also difficult to correct afterward.
3. Acts arrogantly because of the prestige of having attended a prestigious university and almost never listens to others’ opinions.
4. Receives a high salary but does almost no work, and only shifts the blame when something goes wrong.
5. Has an extremely poor management system and clearly lacks leadership qualities, leaving the team with no cohesion at all.
6. Abuses company resources by falsely reporting overtime hours and overtime pay.
7. Frequently holds one-on-one sessions with subordinates to make grand promises, but this is entirely a waste of everyone’s time. What team members really need is a manager with technical expertise.

The senior colleagues in the other departments are quite easy to get along with. They’re very helpful and willing to teach you things.
The manager of a certain e-commerce department
has poor programming skills but still likes to boss employees around.
He wants to solve every problem with loops and conditional statements, writing ridiculously stupid “Hadouken” code without realizing that he’s the problem.
Recently, he built a world wonder that slowed down the overall performance tremendously, then blamed a certain backend engineer for writing terrible code. The logic is amazing.
He set up some kind of performance evaluation system, but the entire department ended up watching his one-man show and one-sided rule.
He also inexplicably protects an incredibly incompetent newcomer.
Backend engineers are treated as frontend engineers, and are also made to work as systems engineers.
He also pushes a pile of his own responsibilities onto the engineers under him.
Basically, if you’re not a woman or didn’t graduate from one of the top four or top-middle-four universities, don’t come here—you’ll only repeat the same mistakes.
All he ever says is bullshit like, “It’s time to learn new technologies” and “How can you improve if you didn’t think of this feature?”
The entire architecture is awful and undocumented; even a genius would be treated like garbage by him.
The people who do the most work earn low salaries, while the high earners are all incompetent newbies.
For everyone thinking about coming for an interview, I’m here to shatter your illusions: the best strategy is truly to run away.
Working part-time at 7-Eleven would be better than this place. You’d have less work, more money, and be closer to home.

I applied for the video editor position. Before the interview, I had to fill out a form they provided, containing a bunch of pointless questions, such as: “Write 10 reasons why you want to work for our company” and “Write how much value you can bring to the company.” By the time you spend a great deal of time writing a bunch of formulaic, corporate-sounding responses, half an hour has been wasted. The point is, they do not even read them. I was interviewing for a video editor position, not a copywriter role—what is the point of asking people to write a bunch of useless filler?
During the interview, they may or may not review your portfolio. After wasting a lot of time on the interview, a man who appeared to be the boss suddenly came in and told us to use our own phones to watch this company’s videos. Then each person had to share their thoughts and impressions. They were basically trying to boost their view count. And then nothing happened. Congratulations, you have wasted another entire day.
This company always has job openings listed on the job bank and is perpetually short-staffed. If you are smart, do not waste your time coming to an interview.
There are snacks to eat.
There is coffee to drink.
After leaving this job, you’ll feel like everywhere else is heaven.
1. The managers only talk and smoke; they spend about one-third of their working hours outside smoking.
