Pros

1. Flexible working hours, with about an hour and a half for lunch. It’s a responsibility-based system, so as long as you finish your work, people generally don’t bother you. One day of WFH per week.

2. A shared office near Minsheng and Dunhua; the working environment is good.

3. Close to Minsheng Community, with plenty of lunch options.

4. Baozun China is a very large company across the Strait and manages many international brands, which can be a plus on your résumé in some respects.

5. There are sometimes employee purchase offers from brands, generally at around 20–30% of the market price.

6. Designers are treated with respect, and compensation is slightly higher than the industry average.

Cons

1. Fixed salary with no bonus at all. You earn the same whether or not performance targets are met. Once you build a good relationship with the brands, you can basically approach the job with a civil-servant mindset.

2. No year-end bonus or holiday bonuses; you rely entirely on your monthly salary. If you don’t negotiate it properly in the interview, there’s no fixing it later.

3. The office atmosphere is good at times and bad at others. There is a short, bespectacled manager with a small mustache who comes into the office fewer than twice a week, contributes nothing but talk, and likes to loudly criticize platform contacts, subordinates, and China in the office. The office atmosphere is poor. Apparently, two brands have been driven away within three years, yet the company’s systems still let him have things his way.

4. With a good brand, you can soar; with a bad brand, be prepared to work late into the night.

Pros

- There are two half-hour buffer periods around working hours, allowing for earlier starts and earlier finishes. Lunch breaks are also flexible, so you can arrange your time freely.

- The office atmosphere is relaxed, with a flat hierarchy and none of the political infighting found in traditional industries. There is also a snack cabinet.

- Public holidays are days off, and you do not need to make up work on designated make-up workdays. Other leave benefits follow the Labor Standards Act and are somewhat rigid.

- The position follows a responsibility-based system but includes overtime pay (you can choose between payment and compensatory leave). So far, there does not seem to be a traditional culture of pressuring employees to work overtime.

- The brands managed on behalf of clients are well-known, making this a suitable stepping stone.

- There are occasional employee-purchase offers for the various brands managed by the company, so you can spend money while working.

Cons

- Salary must be negotiated and finalized before joining. After joining, salary increases are adjusted according to overall company performance, which is usually an unknown.

- The year-end bonus is likewise uncertain. It is paid, but the amount also depends on overall company performance.

- Because of the above two points, employee turnover is somewhat high, although some stable employees have stayed for a long time.

- The office building is a 10-minute walk from the MRT station, and it is very hot in summer.

- The building’s restrooms are slightly outdated.

Pros

Most people are frequently late and often take leave. Lunch breaks are two hours long. Overtime is uncommon, but occasionally you may need to configure the system in the early hours of the morning, which can be reported as overtime. There is a benefit providing each person with NT$100 worth of free snacks per month. Many people do not speak all day at work; it is very quiet, except for the occasional sound of complaints and people cursing. It is recommended that you wear headphones so you do not become bored and irritated.

Cons

It is very much like a recycling plant, suitable for people who cannot get by elsewhere and cannot find a job, as well as those who are lazy and want to take it easy. People with little work experience, or seemingly inexplicable people, can somehow become managers. The work consists mostly of non-core administrative tasks; it is essentially outsourcing rather than operations. The company culture is very poor. They openly discuss whether job applicants’ résumés look good or not. You often hear long-serving employees complaining about how terrible the company is and cursing the children of the brand contacts. It is full of negativity. There is no year-end bonus. The average annual salary for recent graduates is NT$400,000. There is no salary adjustment system, and managers are paid less than senior employees elsewhere. If you want to remain poor for the rest of your life and do not want to make an effort, you can apply here. The hiring rate is 99%.

Pros

The company as a whole is quite young, with flexible working hours. As long as you get your own work done, supervisors generally won’t bother you much. Overall, the workplace atmosphere is pretty good, with a free-spirited startup vibe.

Cons

The benefits are incomplete, but there are snacks and drinks available to make up for it. The work environment in the shared office space is okay.

Pros

1 The office culture is relaxed, with no hierarchical structure

2 Flexible working hours: 9:00–10:00 / 18:00–19:00

3 Two-hour lunch break (12:00 to 14:00); no make-up workdays when Saturdays are designated as workdays

4 The company’s clients are all major brands (GAP, Estée Lauder, O’right, Little B), which is a significant plus on a résumé

5 There is a snack cabinet (employees can submit requests each month)

Cons

1 There is no year-end bonus, annual banquet, or bonuses for the three major holidays; there is only one bonus paid in the first half of each year (basically averaging only about half a month’s salary). Make sure to negotiate your salary before joining, because raises are extremely difficult to obtain. This is not a suitable workplace for people who need money.

2 The Taiwan office has no administrative, HR, finance, or related staff. All such matters must be handled through personnel in Hong Kong, and requests for payments and related processes are handled rather slowly.

3 The pace of resignations is faster than the pace of hiring replacements, so one person may end up doing the work of two or three people.

4 Managers only relay clients’ requirements to subordinates to execute. They do not think through or digest matters they do not understand, and they are not very good at communicating with clients. They often accept unreasonable requests without question, making many decisions seem unprofessional.

5 The computers are very slow, and the equipment is outdated

Pros

There used to be flexible working hours, but there aren't anymore.

Cons

Don't assume that because the company is listed on a stock exchange in mainland China, you can benefit from that association. Taiwan is a separate entity.

A company without established systems—its standards differ depending on the situation and the person.

Unprofessional people leading professionals.

Hiring replacements is extremely slow; one person is expected to do the work of two.

Pros

The company atmosphere is relaxed, managers don't interfere much, and no one supervises the work.

Cons

1. The Taiwanese company has no HR, accounting, or IT departments, so managers tell each department to handle related administrative tasks themselves.

2. Managers do not do their own work and delegate it to subordinates, without giving them a raise or changing their job title, calling it “developing you” and a “responsibility-based system.”

3. Don't expect promotions or raises, and you might as well assume there will be no year-end bonus. Make sure to negotiate your monthly salary when you join, or you will be disappointed.

4. The company completely disregards talent development: when position A is short-staffed, someone from B is pulled in; when B is short-staffed, someone from C is pulled in. Professional expertise is not valued—it feels like plugging holes wherever needed.

5. Not recommended for a long-term stay; employee turnover is high after about a year.
