1. Flexible working hours, with about an hour and a half for lunch. It’s a responsibility-based system, so as long as you finish your work, people generally don’t bother you. One day of WFH per week.
2. A shared office near Minsheng and Dunhua; the working environment is good.
3. Close to Minsheng Community, with plenty of lunch options.
4. Baozun China is a very large company across the Strait and manages many international brands, which can be a plus on your résumé in some respects.
5. There are sometimes employee purchase offers from brands, generally at around 20–30% of the market price.
6. Designers are treated with respect, and compensation is slightly higher than the industry average.
1. Fixed salary with no bonus at all. You earn the same whether or not performance targets are met. Once you build a good relationship with the brands, you can basically approach the job with a civil-servant mindset.
2. No year-end bonus or holiday bonuses; you rely entirely on your monthly salary. If you don’t negotiate it properly in the interview, there’s no fixing it later.
3. The office atmosphere is good at times and bad at others. There is a short, bespectacled manager with a small mustache who comes into the office fewer than twice a week, contributes nothing but talk, and likes to loudly criticize platform contacts, subordinates, and China in the office. The office atmosphere is poor. Apparently, two brands have been driven away within three years, yet the company’s systems still let him have things his way.
4. With a good brand, you can soar; with a bad brand, be prepared to work late into the night.
