Sometimes the boss buys afternoon tea to reward everyone. I’m very satisfied with the work environment, and the working hours are quite normal.

Pros

There are afternoon tea benefits. It is inevitable that employees may overlook some things at work, resulting in costs for the company, but the company does not require employees to pay out of pocket to handle them. When work-related problems arise, most colleagues help one another.

Compared with outside advertising and printing companies, the working hours are stable, and overtime is paid, at rates higher than those required by the Labor Standards Act.

The colleagues currently employed have no problems.

(Several articles above are mostly about personal issues, and the problems are all blamed on others.)

Cons

I hope the company will quickly replace the negative employees.

Colleagues with poor work performance who cannot comply with the regulations are really difficult to work with.

(There are far fewer of them now—fewer than a handful remain. I hope they can change.)

Pros

Normal working hours, and the work environment is OK.

Cons

Some former colleagues like to stir up trouble. Their own work was poor, yet they shifted the blame onto the boss and current colleagues.

Cons

1. The boss is emotionally unstable and easily becomes negative.

2. The boss is unwilling to make improvements in response to issues raised by employees.

3. The boss reads these reviews and will blatantly deny the truth.

4. The company’s benefits are basically determined by whether the boss is in a good mood or whether you know how to curry favor with him.

Newcomers who have read these reviews and still want to join this company should be mentally prepared.

Those who have read these reviews and are still employed by the company should be mentally prepared: the boss is about to launch a major crackdown, and negativity is about to reach a peak. It would be best to wake up and realize this as soon as possible.

Former employees who have read these reviews woke up at the right time. Regardless of whether they were laid off, leaving was the best thing to do.

Pros

The company is quite large, pays salaries on time, provides labor and health insurance, and offers a perfect-attendance bonus (included in the full salary).

Cons

LOL, after seeing a bunch of negative but very truthful comments appear here, they quickly sent people in to put out the fire. In the end, they only wrote those two or three lines about the advantages, and even then it was just the very unconvincing afternoon tea. They directly dismissed the accusations as slander without offering any concrete rebuttal—using a bucket of water to put out a fire.

The normal people are the ones who leave. The benefits listed on the job bank websites are actually just what the boss says counts, while the employees are left with nothing but eye strain from believing them. “I drive a BMW; your year-end bonus is up to my discretion”—or zero. To all you wage slaves: if you really want to take the job, make sure what you are entitled to receive is clearly written into the employment contract.

Some of those who stay are merely the type who occupy a position and mind their own business. Although the company claims to do printing, many of them do not understand much professional knowledge; some cannot even use the software. When a simple file comes in, all they can do is pass it on to someone else to look at. The professionals pick on the easy targets. If I had made it to that position, I would not leave either—a company always has relatively comfortable positions. There is absolutely no teamwork at work, but once you leave, this kind of experience is worth zero and poses a career risk. I hope you can stay comfortably seated there for a long, long time.

In short: run, you deserve better.

Pros

The uncle and auntie are very nice.

Cons

1. There are no clear rules for salary adjustments (they depend on the boss’s and accountant’s judgment).

2. Except for the sales and graphic design departments, all departments have many miscellaneous tasks (for example: weighing the garbage truck and helping with cleaning when there is a shortage of staff).

3. When something goes wrong, everything is judged by accounting and sales (sales pushes all responsibility away). They are unwilling to clarify matters and would rather suspect their own colleagues.

4. All kinds of conveniences and “while you’re at it” requests are used to save on their own work processes (sales).

5. The company’s departmental layout is planned according to bizarre logic (shipping has to be at the entrance, and outgoing packages are placed at the entrance). Reason: to let customers see that we have a large volume of goods being shipped.

6. The relationship between the boss and the accountant is baffling.

7. When the boss and accountant comment on things going wrong, they always protect sales or the office.

8. The boss, whose negative emotions are overflowing, will send mass messages, making employees anxious and mentally tense.

9. Departments are downsized, and outsourcing partners are used to save costs.

10. All kinds of bizarrely logical procedures will make you break down and explode with rage every day 🤩

Pros

A complete militarized workplace career experience, featuring a boss who frequently speaks in threatening tones and a volatile accountant. Newcomers are very welcome to take on the challenge.

Cons

If you see these reviews before your interview, congratulations!!

I sincerely recommend that you do not challenge your own abilities.

----------------------------------------------

Below, the company’s top decision-maker, the CEO, will be referred to by the same shorthand: “the boss.”

When the boss is in a good mood, everyone gets along peacefully. When he is in a bad mood, he sends group messages containing all kinds of verbal threats and bullying, completely treating employees as less than human. If Voldemort existed in this world, he would probably be like this.

1. Work is highly militarized. Starting at 9:00 a.m., you must be seated in front of your computer on time (with the computer already turned on and the screen displayed), preparing to enter work mode. Private mobile phones may not be used during working hours; even sneaking a glance at one will make you feel the boss’s intense gaze.

Everyone works in a state of 100% tension. It is not until the noon lunch break that there is even a little human voice, and only then is there the slightest hint of warmth among colleagues. However, the employee on duty that day does not have anything resembling a break and must always be ready to answer the phone.

At 1:25 p.m., everyone must get up, sit in front of their computers, turn on their screens, and prepare for work. At 1:30 p.m., work begins immediately. Every day, the work style is like that of robots, while everyone’s mental well-being is relentlessly worn down.

2. The boss is extremely emotional and often sends group announcements containing threatening language and verbal bullying. If someone submits a complaint by private message, the boss will post the message directly and say, “If you have a problem, tell me directly and target me. Don’t make little moves behind the scenes. If you want to play, let’s play big—I’m better at playing than you are...” and so on.

This makes colleagues suspicious of one another and causes them to live in fear during working hours.

He is unable to humbly accept any negative comments and requires employees to leave positive reviews together on Google, washing the company’s image with five-star reviews. Some of the reviews on Google were written by employees.

He frequently sends group announcements such as: “Attention, everyone: The economy is poor this year. I hope everyone can do their work to the best of their ability. Don’t sit around with nothing to do, slowly dragging out your work, chatting, or looking at your phone. If this situation is discovered again, we will begin implementing [unpaid leave] on a rotating basis.”

Or: “X-month performance was unsatisfactory, and total performance failed to reach XXX million. If next month’s performance does not reach XXX million, starting in X month we will begin mandatory rotating special leave. One person will take special leave in rotation every day; anyone without special leave will take one day of unpaid leave.”

Sometimes, if you are in too much of a hurry before or after work and fail to notice that the punch card entries overlap, and do not promptly ask the boss or supervisor to sign and certify that you came to work that day, it will be treated as an absence and calculated as an unauthorized absence. P.S. If surveillance footage must be reviewed to prove your attendance, please donate NT$200 to the company’s public fund.

Apparently, proving that you actually came to work that day requires paying NT$200 to have the surveillance footage reviewed.

3. The boss often tacitly permits the accountant’s way of doing things. The boss often says, “Don’t make things difficult for the accountant,” “Make things easier for the accountant,” and “As long as it’s convenient for the accountant.”

If you encounter something unreasonable and consult the accountant, the replies are always, “The boss said so,” “The boss said no,” or “I asked the boss.” Ten sentences cannot get away from mentioning the boss.

The accountant uses the boss’s title to counter every question you raise, making you give up on asking further questions.

Moreover, everything must be quoted according to the accountant’s logic (even when there are no loss-related costs). If your quotation differs from the accountant’s calculation method, or the accountant cannot calculate it or does not understand it, then you are the one who is wrong, and you have to silently swallow the consequences of the mistake yourself.

The accountant is volatile and has very low emotional intelligence. If she is busy with trivial matters and the same vendor calls several times to inquire about something, the accountant will directly reply, “If you keep calling like this, I won’t do business with you anymore.”

Apparently, whether to do business with a vendor is not decided by the boss and the boss’s wife, but by the accountant. All of this is so baffling that it makes you wonder: Who is the boss, and who is the boss’s wife??

4. Overtime pay is all fake; the only thing that is real is whether the boss is in a good or bad mood.

The boss will ask a team leader to announce that there will be a brainstorming meeting after work. The meeting content is usually about investigating mistakes, work situations, and so on.

After attending once or twice, the boss simply stops coming. By the time the meeting ends, it is already 9:00 p.m. Everyone clocks out at 9:00, yet there is no overtime pay at all. The boss makes no statement either, as though it were only natural for us to stay behind for a meeting.

If you want to ask the boss for this overtime pay, it may be faster to find another company.

All of the above points are based on my personal subjective experience and are shared here. If, after reading this understated account, you still want to experience a militarized workplace career and add an unforgettable color to your life, then you are welcome to submit your résumé.

Best of luck.

Pros

The company offers menstrual leave. But women often don't dare to take it...

Cons

The salary starts at exactly the minimum wage. Although the year-end bonus is not legally required, it is awarded entirely according to the boss's mood rather than individual performance reviews. If the boss does not like an employee, they may receive no bonus at all (or even less than a new employee, or none whatsoever). Employee trips often have no destination, schedule, or budget specified, and employees have to decide whether to participate a year in advance. Sometimes taking a trip also means having to use annual leave. If the boss wants to travel abroad, even the extra day off is almost always deducted from annual leave... It doesn't feel very reasonable (based on past experience).
