Pros

The first two interviewers were fine; they just kept asking me questions and did not really explain the job responsibilities.

Cons

I cannot believe a company’s business manager could be this terrible. They suddenly came in, barely introduced themselves, and immediately started asking all sorts of ridiculous questions, almost like a background investigation. But when I asked questions, they said I was asking too many and that it was just an ordinary job and I did not need to ask so many detailed questions. Then why did you ask me so many questions earlier? The company’s compensation and benefits were nothing special either, so what exactly are you acting so arrogant about? You kept repeating questions that your employees had already asked me, and I did not say anything. But when a job applicant asks questions, you say they are asking too many. You also seemed to look down on other areas of expertise. What kind of person says things like that? Honestly, even if you are a company supervisor or owner, you should still have basic courtesy and a proper attitude, okay?

Pros

When it's not busy, it's very relaxed, and you can have a normal two-day weekend.

Cons

The pay is extremely low, and the work is exhausting. You have to move heavy objects and load and unload goods. During the interview, they say that they will accommodate overtime as much as possible but will not force you to work it. In reality, supervisors will follow you to the locker room and ask why you are not working overtime. If you do not work overtime on Saturday, you have to give a reason. The supervisor will write it down in a little notebook and report it to management. Management will require a minimum number of people to work overtime, and at that point, it becomes a contest to see who has the least shame and is willing to force work onto others. The supervisors lack management skills. People who slack off can continue slacking off without being reprimanded because the supervisor says there is no point in scolding them. But if someone who normally works competently slows down—even for just a moment—the supervisor will talk about them as if they have made no contribution at all. It is a deeply disheartening company.

However, the supervisors are not exactly having an easy time either. Excessive overtime is routine, and working more than 12 hours a day is considered normal. They endure what ordinary people cannot, but they also use themselves as the standard and expect everyone to work lots of overtime to help share their workload. Foreign workers have even fewer rights; even if they say they do not want to work overtime that day, they are simply ignored.

The foreign workers' abilities and work ethic vary considerably. Countless people secretly hold outside jobs, whether openly or covertly; they do all kinds of work, and no one has evidence proving that they are working.

In short, it is low pay, lots of work, and close to home. People who just want to get by and those with decent physical stamina can come here.

Pros

None.

Cons

The pay is extremely low!! The break times are ridiculously short!

Also, the morning-shift team leader is difficult to get along with,

and is yelling at people every day. There are way too many pubic lice in hidden areas??

The work environment is very greasy, and nothing is done about it!

There are way too many foreign workers!

It is simply illegal—it violates the required ratio of local to foreign workers!

The Taoyuan Labor Bureau is absolutely useless.

The work environment is too greasy!

It broke my iPhone, and my salary still could not cover the cost of my phone!

I advise everyone looking for a job: unless you are completely desperate,

and even shady industries, gambling businesses, and black-market organizations are not options,

only then should you come here for an interview and take a job!

Unless the pay is high, don't go. It feels like a traditional Taiwanese industrial company that acts superior and largely disregards workers' rights. Its standards for workers seem to be that as long as they barely meet government regulations, that's good enough. It was only short-term work, for less than a month, yet they still required a guarantor's ID card and seal. At work, you had to wear a hairnet, hat, uniform, and rain boots. This company pays only NT$5 more per hour than the government-mandated minimum wage.

At the end, they asked whether I could start work tomorrow. I said the day after tomorrow.

Then they said they needed to prepare things such as opening a bank account, so it would be next Monday instead.

When reporting for work, they required the guarantor's ID card and seal. This is really strange. It was short-term work, and it wasn't an important position or one involving handling money, so why did they require them? Very strange company.

Later, I called to ask whether I could provide them, and they said that if I couldn't provide them, I didn't need to report for work—it was fine.

Strange company.

Pros

I think the thing about my unit that is most worth being upset about is that the people managing us have close relationships with senior executives. As a result, whenever something goes wrong with quality in the Quality Control Department, someone covers for them and nothing happens. In contrast, supervisors on the production floor are disciplined. I find this outrageous—the favoritism is so blatant that I feel ashamed to be part of this department.

Cons

A team with absolutely no sense of teamwork. There is virtually no work interaction or support among colleagues; everyone is selfish, including the supervisors. Whenever there is a work-related problem and we ask our supervisor for support, it ultimately goes nowhere, leaving us to fend for ourselves......

The company's internal management system is roughly divided into two factions (completely irreconcilable): one led by a certain senior executive, and the other by the plant manager.

How can such a disunited company make money?

Pros

In the quality control department, when we propose ideas for improvement, senior management is willing to communicate.

Cons

The supervisor is too selfish. As a department leader, they constantly talk about mutual cooperation, but in practice allocate work in a self-serving way. Even when the workload is unevenly distributed, they say that we need to adapt to many aspects of the work rather than having the environment adapt to us. I only want to say that a good company and good work performance are created by the entire team; they cannot be achieved simply through a supervisor’s irresponsible delegation. Everyone in a company, or even each individual, should have empathy. When colleagues are working conscientiously, the work should be integrated and a balance should be found between employees’ feedback and the work processes.

Pros

The production line supervisors are all pretty good.

Cons

After I submitted my resignation, HR’s attitude changed drastically.

Moreover, when HR asked about the reason for my resignation, they kept steering the conversation toward whether it was due to improper management by the production line supervisors.

Does HR really understand this company? Are they trying to sow division within the company? (confused Black person meme)
