Pros

Paid on time

Cons

I recently interviewed for a part-time position at their exhibition venue, and the result was simply this: the person in charge was replaced, shifts were scheduled in a complete mess, and there was a staff shortage. One moment there was no one in one area, and the next there was no one in another, so part-time workers from other areas were randomly pulled over. They did not even know whether those workers knew how to use the POS system in that area. The person in charge only knows how to talk and completely refuses to acknowledge any problems of their own. In the end, they even dragged other supervisors in to take the blame, and then shifted the responsibility onto other people. The supervisors they selected were the same way—they seemed to be busy rushing around aimlessly all day. Whenever a part-time worker reported something to them, the end result was that they would go and make a negative report about it to upper management.

They said that everything had to be discussed in the group chat, including break rotations and which employees starting at what time needed to coordinate their breaks with everyone else. However, all of these things were only communicated verbally and never announced in the group chat. Then, anyone who had not been informed was blamed, either for their own mistake or for the team leader’s. But the team leader often did not find out until the day itself, while the other supervisors were simply treated as scapegoats.

There was clearly a store manager, and the store manager had also agreed to what we were doing. Yet the assistant manager would come over and insist that everything had to be standardized. I really want to know: are they the store manager now, or are you?

This newly appointed person in charge would also inexplicably remove part-time workers who had already been accepted from the group chat. The only reason was that this person in charge assumed the worker did not want to stay at the position they had been assigned to. However, that was not the case—the worker had merely asked a question, and was then kicked out of the group chat.

Punctual payment of wages

I recently interviewed for a part-time position at their exhibition venue. They did not even know whether those workers knew how to use the POS system in that area. The person in charge only knows how to talk and completely fails to see that they have any problems. In the end, they even dragged other supervisors in to take the blame, and then shifted the responsibility onto others. The supervisors they selected were also constantly busying themselves with who knows what. Whenever part-time workers reported something to them, the final result was that they would go and make a petty report to upper management.

There is clearly a store manager, and the store manager also agreed to what we were doing. Yet the deputy store manager kept saying that everything had to be standardized. I really want to know: is he the store manager now, or are you the store manager?

I recently interviewed for a part-time position at their exhibition venue, and the result was that the person in charge was replaced, the shifts were arranged in a complete mess, and there was a staff shortage. One moment no one was available over there, and the next moment no one was available here. The supervisors they chose were the same way—they seemed to be busy flailing around all day without knowing what they were doing. Whenever a part-time worker reported an issue to them, the final result was that they would go and report it behind their back to upper management.

They also say that matters should be discussed in the group chat, but things such as break rotations and who is working at what time and needs to rotate breaks with everyone else are only communicated verbally, and are not announced in the group chat at all. Then, the people who were not informed are blamed, either as if it were their own fault or the team leader’s fault, even though the team leader often only finds out on the day itself. Pros

Pays salaries on time

You might be able to survive if you just want to do mindless work

The boxed lunches handed out at anime conventions are pretty tasty

Cons

A family business. The boss (don't call her the boss's wife) is very good at talking, but can't do anything well, and is extremely arrogant and conceited

Has an incredibly bad temper. They claim the company is a warm, close-knit family, but no one actually dares to leave work on time—whoever leaves first should get ready to be blacklisted

The company's management is a complete mess, yet they still think they operate on a grand scale. Little do they know that their peers probably no longer even take them seriously

They aren't willing to spend money even on the most basic inventory-inventory system. In this day and age, they still make everyone record the company's entire inventory in Excel

The discrepancies in their inventory are absurdly large. Being off by several hundred units has become completely routine

If it weren't for the major IP Detective Conan helping to prop up the company, I really wouldn't know what Mandi could possibly compete with others on

Everyone else is already fighting a nuclear war, while the company is still practicing with sticks and clubs—and feeling smug about it.......

Some of the XX managers inside are completely incapable; work with them and you'll know. They can't even say a single constructive thing

They probably can only survive by sucking up to the boss. After all, at Mandi, the most important ability is flattering the boss,

There are simply far too many frustrating things. I sincerely advise you not to waste your time

You won't learn anything here; it's not even a decent stepping stone

There are many other absurd things, but I won't go into them one by one, otherwise I could go on forever

The boss's self-important quotes:

1. “The company won't go under. Work hard, and I'll give you room to shine.” (Even the world's top 100 companies don't dare keep saying that their businesses won't go under......)

2. “Mandi is a warm, close-knit family.” (I guess his precious son is probably the only one who thinks so)

Pros

The company location is fairly lively, with plenty of food nearby, so there's no need to worry.

Cons

The interviewer seemed condescending and kept firing off questions aggressively and relentlessly.

They first asked a bunch of questions related to the job and the industry.

Then they started probing into my personal and family background, saying that the company is like a small family and therefore needs to understand its employees' circumstances.

Basically, the job operates under a responsibility-based system. Honestly, if you need to report overtime, they hope you will have dinner first before working overtime; if you want to work overtime directly, you also have to report it in advance.

The position I applied for suddenly became three different positions as the interviewer explained it.

It initially seemed like they would kindly adjust the role based on your experience and circumstances, but after saying all that, they claimed they couldn't offer the expected salary because I lacked sufficient experience.

The most classic question was: What did you gain from traveling abroad?

But I felt that what the interviewer actually wanted to know was whether I would take long vacations abroad and affect work progress.

The salary range listed on 104 is very broad, but it felt like they were only willing to offer the minimum salary.

Overall, it felt like a traditional, old-fashioned company that expects employees to do a lot of things but is unwilling to offer corresponding compensation.

Pros

Pros

1. Centered around anime titles

2. You can see the original form of the anime materials

3. Humorous interactions with colleagues

Cons

1. The project production period is short, so rushing and working overtime are common (this is usually mentioned during the interview)

>Even with exceptional abilities, a short production period can still lead to precarious situations. If the department is not too understaffed, working some overtime can resolve things. If it is understaffed, the supervisor is crucial; in this case, the department supervisor happens not to do much of what their title entails. Only come if you can handle end-to-end work and are prepared to debug things yourself.

2. The supervisor is the ultimate authority and follows the principle of “just do it.”

>It is both an advantage and a disadvantage. They discard all concepts of project completion and never announce an endpoint or closure. The preferences of those above are absolute, and making changes while working is the norm. If the supervisor you encounter is professional, that is fine; but if they are technically stagnant and have no concept of production schedules, be prepared to spend time going around in circles.

3. Interference from negative emotions.

>If you cannot tolerate a supervisor burdened by seniority, emotional, shirking responsibility, or blaming and making things difficult over matters unrelated to work, you should probably not consider this. There is often an atmosphere of supervisors reporting on one another across departments, and verbal instructions without emails create many “Rashomon” situations. There are cases where taking leave or signing off on overtime depends on the supervisor’s mood. If, unfortunately, the people above choose to pretend to be asleep while awake, consider coming only if you have the confidence to be liked and the courage to be disliked.

4. How to avoid the situations in points 2 and 3: if the interviewer spends more time talking than asking you questions, and you notice them complaining or revealing biases, be alert.

5. The salary is relatively low compared with other companies in the same industry.

6. Not recommended for beginners looking to build experience. If you have found your direction and are working hard on the right track, and can withstand emotional and production-process pressure, the anime materials may be helpful.

7. In summary, the reasons for the poor rating: First, abusing one’s position to force unreasonable arguments and creating “Rashomon” situations is common. Second, under these conditions, there are more appealing options.

Pros

1. You can fuel your passion for anime and manga

2. The coworkers are very easy to get along with

Cons

1. The supervisor is extremely emotional; when they are in a bad mood, the people under them are bound to suffer. Please think carefully before joining.

2. The scheduled end of the workday is 6:00 p.m., but leaving at 7:00 p.m. is the norm. During preparation for major exhibitions such as Anime Festival Asia and the Comic Exhibition, working overtime past 9:00 p.m. is considered only natural (overtime is seen as a sign of insufficient ability, and the supervisor of this department will not sign your overtime forms)

3. This company’s starting salary is very low (under NT$30,000)

Pros

The entire company has air conditioning.

There is a supermarket in the basement that provides free parking.

Labor and health insurance included; Saturdays and Sundays off.

There is a probationary period where you can burn with passion.

Cons

Overtime can be compensated with time off (but basically, there is rarely any opportunity to take it).

Leaving work on time (the scheduled time is 6 p.m., but in reality it’s 7 p.m.).

A comfortable working environment (but you can’t eat at the company because someone will make trouble).

There is only a water dispenser (no refrigerator).

The company is located on a high floor (there isn’t much leeway for clocking in).
