Paid on time
I recently interviewed for a part-time position at their exhibition venue, and the result was simply this: the person in charge was replaced, shifts were scheduled in a complete mess, and there was a staff shortage. One moment there was no one in one area, and the next there was no one in another, so part-time workers from other areas were randomly pulled over. They did not even know whether those workers knew how to use the POS system in that area. The person in charge only knows how to talk and completely refuses to acknowledge any problems of their own. In the end, they even dragged other supervisors in to take the blame, and then shifted the responsibility onto other people. The supervisors they selected were the same way—they seemed to be busy rushing around aimlessly all day. Whenever a part-time worker reported something to them, the end result was that they would go and make a negative report about it to upper management.
They said that everything had to be discussed in the group chat, including break rotations and which employees starting at what time needed to coordinate their breaks with everyone else. However, all of these things were only communicated verbally and never announced in the group chat. Then, anyone who had not been informed was blamed, either for their own mistake or for the team leader’s. But the team leader often did not find out until the day itself, while the other supervisors were simply treated as scapegoats.
There was clearly a store manager, and the store manager had also agreed to what we were doing. Yet the assistant manager would come over and insist that everything had to be standardized. I really want to know: are they the store manager now, or are you?
This newly appointed person in charge would also inexplicably remove part-time workers who had already been accepted from the group chat. The only reason was that this person in charge assumed the worker did not want to stay at the position they had been assigned to. However, that was not the case—the worker had merely asked a question, and was then kicked out of the group chat.
