Cons

The manager is impossible to communicate with and is extremely emotional

Year-end evaluations have no objective basis and simply depend on whether the manager likes you

The manager is unable to take responsibility; whenever there is a problem, they have the company come to you while hiding behind the scenes and refusing to deal with it

Pros

The company has been established for a long time and is very stable.

Cons

1. There is no overtime pay, and sales staff are employed under a responsibility-based system. Supervisors like to ask sales staff to work after hours, and even require them to work on holidays.

2. Supervisors do not listen to employees' opinions at all. They simply make decisions themselves. They also enter other sales territories without informing anyone, casually contacting the senior staff members responsible at the hospitals and making promises recklessly.

3. Some sales supervisors are not from the relevant field and are unfamiliar with the equipment, but they still like to interfere in the work being done by the sales staff.

4. All the information known within the company comes from the supervisors, so all the credit goes to the supervisors, while all the mistakes are blamed on the sales staff.

5. There is no team spirit at all. Supervisors compete for cases, and colleagues compete for cases. There is no such thing as teamwork. You have to take good care of your own territory, or it may be taken away at any time.

Pros

Stable work

The company has been established for a long time

You can negotiate your own salary. The company has been short-staffed for a long time, so you can ask for a higher salary—don’t be shy.

A diverse range of products

Cons

1. There are no established procedures. Whenever the supervisor has nothing to do, they like to call meetings, but they do not adopt anything discussed in the meetings and insist on doing things entirely according to their own ideas. When problems arise, they like to make subordinates take responsibility.

2. You need to firmly secure your own territory. Otherwise, when the supervisor sees that development is going well, they will come and take over the territory themselves, take the cases, and assign them to the salespeople they favor. They then take credit with the company. The key point is that when problems arise, they still push the blame onto subordinates.

3. Do not assume something is true just because you hear it from the supervisor or from colleagues during handover. The people most likely to cause trouble are your own colleagues; they may deceive new employees into cleaning up their messes.

4. The supervisor likes to say, “If there are any problems, we can discuss them, and everyone should support one another.” But when business is doing very well and you need mutual support, the only person expected to support the supervisor is you. The supervisor will reply that you should not push everything onto them.

5. If an assistant wants to resign, they can stop doing virtually anything. If goods cannot be shipped, the sales staff are told to figure it out themselves; if too few goods are stocked, that is also treated as the sales staff’s problem.

6. There are no company vehicles, only a small transportation allowance and fuel subsidy. Sales staff have to carry and transport goods themselves and take care of the equipment, so using it for personal purposes is virtually impossible.
