That's it

Cons

In addition to the drawbacks mentioned by the several people above, I would like to add a few more points:

1. To save on electricity costs, the office area on the second floor usually only has one air conditioner running, resulting in the air being permeated by a nauseating sour sweat smell coming from someone. As the saying goes, living with an unpleasant person is like entering an abalone shop—after a while, you no longer notice the stench. That smell really does resemble rotten abalone. For people with a keen sense of smell, it is a form of torture.

2. You have to deal with people with abnormal personalities who cannot control their emotions. Every now and then, they set traps for you to fall into or berate you with sarcastic remarks. Simply dealing with such people is enough to drain your working hours and enthusiasm; after staying for a long time, you may feel as though you are in a psychiatric hospital.

3. One supervisor will boast that he works several hundred hours a month, while also requiring you to be on call 24 hours a day for the projects you are responsible for and to respond on LINE (including during holidays), always putting the client and the company first. But I do not understand why he constantly complains about his own boss behind his back. It is truly contradictory and extremely hypocritical. To quote a famous line from *The Legend of Zhen Huan*: X people are just being affected.

Pros

1. The supervisor candidly admitted that they were not entirely sure about the job responsibilities, without putting on airs.

2. They asked me to prepare work samples, and actually made use of them instead of merely listing them as a formality.

Cons

1. The interview instructions asked me to bring my résumé and work samples, but although I prepared electronic files, the company was not mentally or technically prepared to receive them. For a professional information technology company, whether the materials prepared by an interviewee are electronic files or need to be presented in slides, the company should not have seemed as though it were seeing them for the first time!?

2. Even though I prepared my résumé according to the instructions, I still had to fill out the company's standard résumé form on site, which was a complete waste of the interviewee's time.

3. The supervisor said that the company still did not have a completely clear idea of the job responsibilities and was also unsure what kind of person it wanted. The person they seemed to be looking for would probably need around 10 years of experience, yet the listing on 104 stated 3 years of experience. Going to the interview was a complete waste of time.

Pros

1. When the company was making money and growing, it failed to properly reward its employees, only realizing the pain after triggering a wave of resignations.

2. Middle management only knows how to talk and is incapable of anything else. With their poor management, all they do is knead you like a steamed bun, then tell you to roll back and keep working once they have rounded you off.

3. Some engineers say that if they are unhappy, they can simply refuse to do the work. How, then, are we supposed to answer to the clients?

4. During the interview, they said it was fine if you didn’t know something because someone would guide you. Once you start the job, be mentally prepared to fend for yourself.

5. New hires should be mentally prepared to take on all the miscellaneous tasks, because you’re just a newbie.

6. Why does a project that is clearly the manager’s somehow end up on a subordinate’s shoulders? When it is almost completed, they ask, as if it has nothing to do with them, “Is it taken care of yet?” What the hell~~

7. One engineer can say that they don’t want to do something and actually hand the project over to a rookie, yet the rookie ends up doing a sloppy job. Is it the company’s problem or the engineer’s problem? The facts prove that it’s my problem, because I should never have come here to play the fool.

8. Middle management is a toxic mess. They don’t know how to create a cheerful atmosphere and only emit an aura of taking advantage of people, forcing the employees below them to emit an aura of resignation instead.

9. If you find life dull and want to challenge yourself, this is actually a decent challenge—but be mentally prepared to shorten your lifespan. Apparently, someone whose life was too boring wanted to experience it firsthand, but immediately regretted coming here to put themselves through this foolish self-improvement exercise.

Pros

1. Many of the leave policies are unclear. You often have to ask the parent company to get answers to various questions, and there are hardly any benefits to speak of. The only benefit is probably the office decor and your desk. If benefits are important to you, think carefully.

2. Most of the PMs are newcomers, and because there is no documentation or process, many things are chaotic. Cases are often interfered with. Basically, the company does not handle particularly large cases, so they are not difficult to learn; you just have to deal with strange questions.

Case designs are usually handled by the PMs themselves. For the visual aspects, FE says CSS is art and should be written by the art team, while art says CSS is code and should be handled by FE. I am not sure who is supposed to write it; I only know that the screens are always ugly.

Advice for newcomers: If you are a PM joining to learn, it may be more difficult. If you are willing to put in the effort, it can be a good stepping stone, but staying for a long time is not recommended. If you are coming to make money, discuss your starting salary carefully with the boss.

3. The art team is quite experienced, and since the entire company has only one art person, it is difficult to get her to do things. Unless absolutely necessary, you have to handle things yourself.

Advice for newcomers: You will never be short of art support, because she will not leave.

4. FE and BE skills are average, and the programming architecture they use is outdated. Since the cases are relatively simple, very advanced technical skills are unnecessary; however, there are no experts, so you have to figure things out yourself.

Advice for newcomers: Newcomers with some foundation, or those who feel they can be self-reliant, may consider coming, but staying for a long time is not recommended.

5. The app team consists entirely of rookies, and the programming architecture is even more outdated. With rookies constantly maintaining it, the code has become even messier. Turnover is fairly high, and you need to work overtime constantly. Basically, there are a great many problems.

Advice for newcomers: Newcomers are advised not to come; it will be very difficult unless you are willing to accept the challenge. However, if an expert who wants to overhaul things is considering joining, make sure to negotiate your salary carefully with the boss.

6. The product department has no engineers, so you have to compete with the other PMs for them.

Advice for newcomers: Inexperienced newcomers are not advised to join, because you will usually have to do everything.

7. Another major characteristic of the company is that there are many cliques. I will not elaborate; if you have a chance to interview or join the company, observe carefully and find the right group to associate with.

Conclusion: Do not expect to learn anything from this company. With so many newcomers, you can only rely on yourself. The company offers no benefits; you only get a salary. There are many cliques, and you will not make many friends. What you can gain here is a salary and experience. Be prepared to leave at any time—unless the situation when you join is different from what it was when I left.

The employee policies are very unclear. At the beginning, many things aren’t explained clearly, and you only find out when you encounter them.

The company’s document management lacks standards and is messy, making work feel inefficient, with few resources available to use.

The company owner’s attitude is that you only have programs to write because he and the planners go out to secure projects. You haven’t helped the company make money; you’ve merely finished the tasks you were supposed to do without helping the company make money. My interpretation is basically that you are just tools he keeps around: you have no value and merely help him write the programs properly. The company has not treated you unfairly. This is extremely disrespectful to your profession. If you want to work as an engineer under this kind of boss, think twice.

If you want to be an Android app engineer, you have to handle R&D, development, and cleaning up messes all at once. Don't go—it’s a terrible job, the pay is low, and the boss will even berate you and say the company hasn’t shortchanged you. Raises are limited, and there’s little pay for lots of work. If you’re afraid of being stabbed in the back by the boss, don’t go. If you can’t accept some very strange rules, don’t go. If you can’t accept an elevator so slow that it could make you late, don’t go. If you can’t accept having to queue to use the bathroom, don’t go. If you can’t accept sweating profusely while using the bathroom, don’t go. If you can’t accept having no hand soap and having to wash your hands with dishwashing liquid—and, after you report it, being told to bring your own, don’t go. If you’re a single woman, don’t go. As soon as you join the company, they will ask you to sign a contract that violates labor laws, requiring you to work for a full year before you can leave. If you think that’s reasonable, you can go—but would a good company ask you to sign such a clause? The clause says that the company will train and develop you, but after I joined, I never attended any courses and no one gave me any guidance. Basically, you contribute to the company, while the company won’t spend a single penny training you. Also, the company’s software architecture is extremely outdated, so you won’t learn much, and when you leave, you’ll only be left behind by the job market. Finally, according to a colleague who chatted with me, when he resigned, his supervisor even asked him what he had learned. That was truly laughable. A company where there is nothing to learn asking an employee what he learned—I could only answer: I learned that you should choose your next job carefully. Don’t be fooled by its beautiful décor; décor is all it has.
