The company owner’s attitude is that you only have programs to write because he and the planners go out to secure projects. You haven’t helped the company make money; you’ve merely finished the tasks you were supposed to do without helping the company make money. My interpretation is basically that you are just tools he keeps around: you have no value and merely help him write the programs properly. The company has not treated you unfairly. This is extremely disrespectful to your profession. If you want to work as an engineer under this kind of boss, think twice.
