Pros

Don't even think about it—go look for it in your dreams!

Cons

The company culture and atmosphere are terrible. Most of the people who stay at Jingteng are either numb or lack the ability to leave, so they can only remain in their comfort zone and deceive themselves into thinking they are impressive. Those who leave within a short time are basically the strong ones, because strong people don't stay at bad companies.

Want to try a Japanese-style company? Jingteng is the place for you. You might think you've come to a high-end company in Tokyo—until you see the poor pay and benefits, the many entrenched old-timers, and managers with no ideas who still force you to swallow garbage. Hail, Jingteng! With such a wonderful company, how could you not go? If you have too much time, don't need money, and want to work quietly until you die of old age, this place comes highly recommended.

You’re next~

Cons

The manager always wears a sour expression and only knows how to scold people. They also have no idea what is being worked on, who to communicate with, or who assigned the tasks.

The programmers have very little tolerance for mistakes. Even a minor error will get you berated for ages. They say, “I just explained that earlier.” I completed the assigned work using the method I considered most thorough, but was still humiliated. I hope they can be more understanding toward employees.

But gradually, I stopped feeling that way. When I tried to communicate with the manager about work-related bottlenecks, I was sometimes put off. The manager would even reply, “It’s easy to find someone to replace you.”

What exactly is HR doing? They just discard people and call it done. What is a hybrid project?

Also, they report the headcount inaccurately to outsiders. Even though it was clearly a two-person project, they insisted it was a 20-person project. I’d also really like to know what you think.

Pros

There is an unattended store on the 10th floor, but there are no discounts.

Cons

The atmosphere is extremely poor. I worked at the data center for over a year, and apart from work-related matters, I never chatted with my colleagues. You really just come to work and collect a paycheck, with no opportunity to expand your network. When you’re older and don’t have connections, you can’t rely on referrals to find a job, so this place is full of old-timers who can’t leave. Fortunately, I left. There is no competitiveness, no reputation, and as for technical skills, forget it. All they know how to do is operations and maintenance. The salary is shockingly low. Everyone, run!

None

Cons

The manager is utterly incompetent—so incompetent it’s laughable. They don’t even know what direction their own department should take; they only take on the garbage work that the entire company doesn’t want to do, and they are extremely unsupportive.

You can queue for the elevator during working hours, and passersby may even ask whether you’re lining up for some promotional product.

Cons

I left last year. To put it bluntly, Jing Teng is FamilyMart’s in-house maintenance and operations department. Although it is a company, it can only grit its teeth and take whatever projects FamilyMart assigns, because Jing Teng’s source of income comes from FamilyMart. Whatever FamilyMart says, Jing Teng doesn’t dare complain. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Jing Teng is FamilyMart’s dog—after all, Jing Teng could only bark from the moment it was born. When an outside contracting company encounters unreasonable demands from a client, it can still refuse and stop doing business with them. But when Jing Teng faces unreasonable demands from FamilyMart—even if they force you to eat shit, you still have to swallow it. A tragic fate. After all, Jing Teng doesn’t have the ability to take on outside projects either; once FamilyMart pulls out, Jing Teng will be left twitching and waiting to die.

I heard the organization has been adjusted recently, but it’s just a change of packaging without changing the substance. Incompetent supervisors push subordinates to work overtime just to make themselves look good. A group of people left last year. As for the managers, vice presidents, and other senior executives, they’re best viewed from a distance. Compare them with management in the industry and you’ll see that Jing Teng is full of entrenched old-timers everywhere. They’re barely holding on by relying on assistant managers, but they’re all much the same.

The company culture is truly poor—an indifferent environment with many invisible unwritten rules. There’s no room for development. Think of it as the administrative department of the software industry and you’ll have the right idea. It has no future and can’t retain talent, with a Japanese-style management and low-wage system. I genuinely can’t think of a reason to go to Jing Teng. Speaking from experience, I advise you to think twice.

Pros

I really can’t think of any.

Cons

No reputation, no technical expertise, low pay, heavy workload. A bunch of people have left, and the turnover rate is extremely high. It’s very difficult to find new hires, and newcomers leave after only a few days. A truly pathetic company that fantasizes every day about being able to take down 7-Eleven, but in the end it’s just a fantasy. Despite having no development capabilities, it even restricts employees from bringing 7-Eleven-exclusive products. White terror?

Don’t go there under any circumstances—I just escaped. The manager is so useless it’s laughable. Apart from holding meetings and passing the buck, what else can they do? They’re simply idiotic.

Pros

How could there possibly be any advantages?

Cons

The work environment is devoid of human warmth. If you don’t want to interact or communicate with your colleagues at all, the Data Department is the place for you. The entire area is filled with indifference, and the average age of the colleagues is relatively high.

The atmosphere in the Systems Development Department is comparatively better, and the colleagues are also younger. If you are unfortunately only capable of getting into Jing Teng, I strongly recommend going to Systems Development; at least the atmosphere is much better.

There is no visible future for development. It can’t beat 7-Eleven, yet it treats 7-Eleven as an imagined rival. Don’t be foolish—7-Eleven doesn’t even consider FamilyMart a worthy competitor.

It is a thoroughly conventional-industry IT operations and maintenance organization. Connections are very important: if you have good relationships, can talk a good game, and can impress those above you, your promotion is not far off.

After staying for more than three years, I deeply regret going to Jing Teng. It has neither reputation nor technical expertise. I urge everyone with ability to look around more; even if it’s not ideal, you should still go to 7-Eleven.

Suitable for autistic applicants, because you don’t have to speak at work; Teams replaces interpersonal interaction.

Cons

1. The pay raises are minimal and show little regard for employees; if you want to make money, stay away.

2. It lacks market competitiveness; you can only rely on your whole family to support you.

3. If you want to advance into management, build your connections first; the supervisors have no ability to speak of.

4. I suggest working at FamilyMart. Jinteng’s management positions have the same titles but are one level lower than FamilyMart’s management positions. A manager at Jinteng is merely an assistant manager at FamilyMart and is often looked down on by FamilyMart employees.

Pros

A company no one has heard of; I initially thought it was an affiliated company of Green Bunny.

Cons

A company with a Japanese-style management culture. At first, I really had no idea this company even existed.

Basically, it is FamilyMart's IT department and only takes on projects commissioned by FamilyMart. Put more politely, they say FamilyMart has too many projects to take on cases from external companies; put less politely, their development capabilities are inadequate, so they can only survive on FamilyMart's leftovers.

Most of FamilyMart's information-system development is outsourced to external vendors. Jing Teng only takes over for maintenance and operations after the vendors finish developing the systems: “Maintain systems well, and beg for food until old age; FamilyMart is your dad, so obediently wag your tail.”

Those with ability are advised to leave quickly. Staying here too long will stall your growth. Physical retail has already run out of new tricks, let alone IT maintenance and operations. Those who remain are mostly the old and the weak; all the capable people have left. Think carefully before joining.

Pros

The only thing it has going for it is its convenient location.

Cons

1. The company culture and atmosphere are terrible, with an overwhelming sense of indifference. Colleagues act as if they don’t see each other when passing by; they don’t know you at work, and they don’t know you after work either.

2. The pay is ridiculously low. They offer this kind of salary and expect you to be both a PM and a technical staff member—one person doing the work of two. Impressive, truly impressive.

3. It only takes on FamilyMart projects. When there are projects Jing Teng cannot handle, FamilyMart will find another company to do them anyway. Simply put, most projects are first developed by an external contractor, after which Jing Teng takes over the subsequent maintenance and operations. So don’t expect much development there: if FamilyMart falls, Jing Teng falls too.

4. The employee turnover rate is high. FamilyMart is basically your father; if you can’t fulfill FamilyMart’s requirements, that’s your problem. Either you leave or you receive a poor performance review—so long as someone takes the blame, that’s all that matters.

5. It is an IT operations and maintenance company with no future prospects. The profit margins in physical retail are extremely low, and it will sooner or later be replaced by virtual e-commerce.

6. The funniest thing is that the company even internally instructs employees not to bring 7-Eleven products into the office, because if executives see them, they will be unhappy and their impression of you—or your performance review—will suffer badly. This is one of Jing Teng’s unspoken internal rules.

Convenient transportation

Cons

First, I interviewed with HR and asked about the working hours and overtime situation. I never said that I couldn't work overtime, but HR said that she couldn't comment on the overtime situation.....

A complete information asymmetry!!!

Pros

1. Convenient transportation.

2. An affiliated company of FamilyMart, responsible for handling FamilyMart’s projects, so the project pipeline will not run dry!

3. Located in the same building as FamilyMart’s headquarters.

4. Guaranteed 14 months of salary.

Cons

1. HR seemed very unclear about the situation. I arrived on time for a morning interview, but they still asked me via the extension, “Is the interview scheduled for this time?”

2. The interview process lasted 2.5 hours (including filling out the standard résumé information, a personality test, a professional skills test, an HR interview, and a manager interview).

3. It feels like the role requires highly flexible support for FamilyMart convenience store activities and projects!

4. Some people work overtime until the early hours of the morning and then come back to work the next day! Whether to take compensatory leave or come to work is up to the individual.

5. There are too many overtime applications; the manager will ask about the reason.

Pros

Honestly, no. At most, there were quite a lot of young women in that building.

But there were almost none on that floor...

Cons

The Java position requires on-call duty and involves refactoring a terrible legacy architecture (it’s really awful...). The team consists of only one rookie and you, yet it looks like they intend to offer a low salary.

The interview process probably lasted around two hours, and they didn’t even provide a glass of water—I was nearly dying of thirst.

A company that can’t even be bothered to provide a rejection notice is probably not worth going to. Luckily, I didn’t want to take this crappy job anyway...
