Pros

Somewhat geared toward seniority

Cons

Every one to two months, each person has to take a one-week turn as the duty person to clean and take out the trash

The office environment is cramped, the company is some distance from the MRT station, there are few restrooms, and salaries are paid late

Pros

1. Most of the materials are still paper-based, and even the Office software is pirated, making it suitable for people who are not familiar with computers.

2. The available working hours are scattered, but people who need labor and health insurance coverage for the entire month can apply for a part-time retail position.

Cons

I worked at the head office for more than four years. After leaving, I discovered that I had developed panic disorder and depression, and I have been receiving treatment for more than three years.

I asked other colleagues about it. Some had vomited blood from overwork and been hospitalized twice, while others suffered strokes in their thirties.

A relatively milder issue is having nightmares every day.

The head-office work environment is poor, and no cleaners are hired. Employees have to take turns cleaning the restrooms and taking out the trash, and there is no disinfection, so there are cockroaches and mice.

Colleagues do not get along well and bully new hires and employees with gentler personalities.

The owner and their spouse are often suspicious and paranoid.

Convenient transportation + most colleagues are easy to get along with

Cons

There are far too many violations of the Labor Standards Act... Every month they randomly deduct money from employees’ wages, and have the nerve to say that the company is helping you save money and will return it all at once three months later?!

Overtime is calculated at only 1.33 times the hourly rate. Work is distributed unevenly, with the attitude that as long as someone does the work, that’s good enough. Supervisors cannot receive overtime pay and can only take compensatory leave—this is their bizarre logic...

1. The company’s main office in Da’an District is really old and run-down. They have rented it for more than 30 years, and each floor has only two household-style restrooms. There is no cleaning staff, so employees have to take turns cleaning, taking out the trash, and mopping the floors. You cannot even take a lunch break at noon, and you also have to help collect the mail.

2. The vice president has a bad temper and loves to nag. They can go on for ages even over signing a payment request, and are extremely stingy.

3. Every month, the company randomly deducts several thousand dollars from employees’ wages, claiming it will be returned three months later. They do not mention this at all during the interview; you only discover it after joining and receiving your salary. It feels awful and is completely unreasonable.

4. The year-end bonus is calculated based only on base salary. The amount is so low it makes you question everything, and there is no fixed standard—it depends on the mood of the owner and their spouse.

5. At the spring banquet, all office staff are forced to work as event staff. You are so busy you cannot eat properly, and after the event ends, you still have to go outside and buy something to eat yourself.

6. The gifts for the three major festivals are all health supplements sold by the company itself, handed out as if they are doing employees a great favor. No bonuses are given.

7. The company Wi-Fi is extremely slow; using your own mobile data is actually faster.

8. When you want to resign, they use emotional pressure to demand that you give them a lot of time to find a replacement. If you do not, it is treated as your fault.

Honestly, I’ve never seen a company demand both strong performance and good service!

【#SweatshopWorkplaceObservationDiary】Wellcome Medical Supplies: A chaotic system creates anxiety, while respect exists only as a slogan

To be honest, at first I thought the medical industry would at least be more stable and structured.

But after joining Wellcome, I finally understood—the only thing that is “stable” is the employees’ despair, while Wellcome Medical Supplies is merely there for decoration.

The company is like a board game whose rules no one ever understands.

The rules are updated every day, and the right to interpret them always belongs to the supervisors.

If you follow the rules, you’re “rigid and inflexible”;

if you make a judgment based on the situation on the ground, you’re “violating procedures.”

In the end, you realize that the only way not to be wrong is to say nothing.

Because speaking up = causing trouble; staying silent = survival.

Supervisors conduct meetings like speeches, and the topics generally fall into three categories:

1. Frontline staff are ignorant;

2. You need to learn to be grateful;

3. The company is already being very merciful.

Every meeting feels like a live-streamed emotional blackmail seminar.

The problem isn’t that no one raises issues—it’s that once you do, people question, “Do you have a problem with this?”

The most impressive part is the magical incantation: “The customer comes first.”

Whenever there’s a conflict or a customer complaint, regardless of the circumstances,

one statement from upper management—“You need empathy; you need to be flexible”—is enough to make you swallow all your grievances.

When you actually become flexible, they’ll then say, “You can’t do that; the rules don’t allow it.”

A perfect cycle of contradictions, enough to give philosophy students material for a thesis.

As for the salary? It would be more accurate to call it a “charity internship program.”

The number is so low that even inflation can’t be bothered to come looking for it.

The company culture is “those who can do the work should do a little more,”

which, translated into plain language, means: “If you can’t finish, it’s because you’re inefficient; if you do finish, that’s what you’re supposed to do.”

Overall impression:

Wellcome isn’t running a business; it’s conducting a psychological experiment.

They observe how employees rationalize contradictions to themselves,

then test how far human limits can be pushed before people are still willing to say, “I can try to hold on a little longer.”

If you enjoy challenges, love chaos,

and are passionate about “being misunderstood yet still having to smile and say you understand”—

congratulations, you’ll definitely be regarded as the chosen one here.

Otherwise, seriously, stay far away.

There are many places in the medical industry where you can save people, but this place will only make you sick first!

#Seriously~19,000-worth-of-dog-food!

#The-supervisors-keep-making-mistakes-all-day-long-but-make-frontline-employees-take-the-blame!

Skilled at personal attacks and insults!

To put it bluntly, it’s a rotten company built on collusion between business and government!

Pros

You’ll know as soon as you join.

Cons

The year-end bonus was lower than before during the first two years. You said it was because of the pandemic, but as a medical equipment company, you made quite a lot from masks, forehead thermometers, alcohol, blood oxygen monitors, protective clothing, and so on. Yet when it came to the year-end bonus, you simply said that the department didn’t make money and didn’t even give us one month’s worth. This year is even more outrageous—isn’t the pandemic over? Why is the bonus still so small, even smaller than during the pandemic? You’re such a large company, yet you’re this stingy with your employees. Aren’t you ashamed? You still want to compete with your publicly listed rival, MedFirst Healthcare. Everyone really needs to choose carefully. Even if we didn’t make major contributions, we still worked hard.

Pros

Convenient transportation

Cons

There are no advantages.

The interview paperwork was completed right by the elevator, with many people coming and going.

When I actually arrived for the interview, there were two HR representatives, one man and one woman.

The male HR representative spoke in an extremely self-important manner and had nothing substantive to say.

The female HR representative was also very poor at asking questions.

After the interview as a whole, you will have absolutely no desire to take the job.

Think carefully before proceeding.

Pros

1. Salary is not paid on time

2. Even when working overtime to the point of exhaustion, it is only paid at 1.33 times the regular rate

3. Does not comply with the Labor Standards Act, but operates right on the edge of it

4. A place for people who do not seek advancement and only want a meager salary

5. A pretty good place to coast toward retirement

Cons

Salaries are generally low, and one person is expected to do many things. Once they see that you can do something, they will ask you to do it, or they will randomly assign it to someone (even if it is not part of your duties). Once you do it, it becomes your responsibility. There will be no raise, and you will also be scolded from time to time over event proposals. Meetings are held constantly, but they never produce any results; you just sit there listening to the boss vent and serve as an outlet for his frustration. The company is very old-fashioned, its methods are outdated, and it is often behind the times. The way they speak is also unpleasant. There is also the “boss’s wife,” Sister Chen, whom you all mention. She is very good at judging people. The people who come for interviews are all incompetent, yet people say that Sister Chen is sentimental and values old relationships. In reality, she judges people: if she does not take to you (especially if she did not interview you), she will make trouble for you, even if you have worked there for many years. Year-end bonuses are given according to her mood, not seniority or how much you have contributed there. If she likes you, you get a one-month bonus; if you are disobedient or she does not like you, you get less than one month. You also have to be careful when answering her. Even when you genuinely do not know something, you cannot be honest; you have to lie to her and say, “Okay, I’ll look into it.” You cannot speak the truth at this company. If you do, you will offend her, and for no apparent reason she will hold it against you. (People say she values old relationships, but she actually has no human feeling at all.) You will need to be careful from then on. Anyone considering working here should choose carefully~

Pros

1. Convenient location

2. Courteous reception staff

Cons

1. Cluttered and dim office environment: The company is located in an old mixed-use residential and office building. The overall office décor is very outdated, the lighting is dim, and there are many miscellaneous items. Even the meeting room, which should be kept clean, is so cluttered that the whiteboard cannot be seen. If you value a clean work environment, please do not consider this company.

2. The application form focuses excessively on personal privacy and employment discrimination: In addition to basic information, applicants are required to provide details about their personal financial situation and household members (for example, whether they own a home). The interviewer's evaluation criteria include grooming, physical appearance, and writing ability (handwriting).

3. Concerns about the interviewer's conduct: Because I felt that providing information about my personal financial and household situation involved personal privacy, I left those sections blank. When the interviewer saw this, they directly asked, "You left your family members section blank—is it because there is no one left in your family? Are you the only one left?" (Was this insinuating that both of my parents had died?)

In conclusion, applicants should consider this carefully before going to the interview. Thank you.

Pros

HR called beforehand to ask whether I was interested in interviewing, which I thought was fairly polite.

Cons

I interviewed for a sales assistant position at the head office. They did not arrange a suitable place and instead conducted it at the tables and chairs directly in front of the staircase—in the stairwell. It was extremely hot and stuffy, and I kept getting bitten by mosquitoes. In addition to having to handwrite information you had already entered on the job bank—including a personal background survey asking about your family situation—you also had to complete a personality aptitude questionnaire first. It had 90 questions, with options A–J for each one, which was bewildering and made it very easy to check the wrong answer. The interview was also held there, with no privacy; anyone entering or leaving the elevator could observe the interview process.

What made me most uncomfortable was that the interviewer’s scoring criteria were indicated directly on the back of the résumé you had filled out. The first item was grooming, and the second was appearance and looks...... Such blatant employment discrimination made me seriously want to call the Labor Bureau to report them. The required information also included your personal financial situation, including how much debt you had (I left that blank). However, I rent outside the home, and when I left the rent section blank, they questioned me about it. I asked the interviewer why I needed to answer that, and she just evaded the question, saying that the company wanted the information to be as detailed as possible. When asked about my desired salary, the company’s website stated a minimum of NT$30,000. But when I said that NT$30,000, as listed on the company website, would be acceptable to me, the interviewer vaguely said that was only the desired salary, merely a reference, and told me to write “according to company regulations.” It felt as though I had been lured to the interview with a false salary offer.

The interview itself felt quite rushed. Perhaps they felt I was not the person they were looking for. When I asked why they had invited me, HR said it was because I had been matched with the position (even though I was notified about the interview before I had revised my résumé. Despite the gap of one to two full years, they did not check or review it before inviting me in; it felt like they were simply shooting blindly). I had not even entered the interview room yet, but the résumé form already reminded me in advance to bring and attach a 2-inch headshot. It really felt like they placed tremendous emphasis on appearance...... The next interviewee, a woman, looked very pretty and young. I hope she takes care......

Pros

1. Very flexible, with a semi-laissez-faire management style and no clearly scheduled break times.

2. Convenient parking for both cars and scooters.

3. The staff are easy to get along with.

4. The work environment has air conditioning.

Cons

Disadvantages

1. Regardless of how much overtime you work, you only receive the base salary multiplied by 1.33, including work on holidays.

2. The benefits for the three major festivals consist of one health and personal-care product. On your birthday, you only receive a text message.

3. Payday is not fixed and is often delayed.

4. There is no concept of separating work processes. When goods arrive, everything is chaotic: employees must handle processing, receiving, inspection, counting, and shelving at the same time.

5. The spaces for picking and shelving are extremely limited, and the picking method is inefficient.

There is no year-end banquet, and at the spring banquet you still have to do manual labor. Simply put, this is an extremely stingy company. The threshold for receiving picking bonuses is very high, and there are no other benefits. For the same number of overtime hours, you will earn less than you would elsewhere. If you are considering joining, think it through carefully.

1. OJT training.

2. Employee gatherings or dinners are held every quarter, with no out-of-pocket cost.

5. The logistics center is a company asset.
