Family business—the boss’s daughter has the final say, and there isn’t much of a system. Working hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. The pay is mediocre, and new employees are worked very hard.

It may be related to the position, but the manager gives us quite a lot of flexibility, and we can discuss things with the manager as equals. There is also a bonus system even for non-sales positions, and overtime work and meetings can be reported by the hour for overtime pay. The colleagues are quite friendly, and whenever you have questions or need help, there is always someone you can ask or who can help—you will not be left without anyone to turn to. There are quite a few projects you can get involved in, so the work feels fresh and interesting. Of course, it requires relatively more effort and time, but completing the projects can be quite rewarding. You will need to take turns staffing the retail store, which lets you experience both office and retail-store work at the same time; it is quite unique.

It is a small company, so in addition to your regular job responsibilities, you may need to handle quite a few general administrative tasks. The company places great emphasis on the logic behind how things are done. If you have your own way of working and it differs considerably from that of your colleagues or manager, things may be more challenging.

At a company with established systems, everyone has their own ideas, and it takes time to develop a common way of working together. Everyone needs to adapt to one another, and issues can be resolved quite well through actual communication.

2. The work is rather repetitive and detailed, but you can learn a lot at the same time, so there's no need to worry about getting bored. Every day goes by very quickly.

3. You can apply for overtime pay. As long as the work performed is confirmed, there is no fuss about paying the overtime.

4. For a traditional industry company, the quality of the colleagues and the brand image are both quite good.

1. You have to report your work progress every day. This can be quite painful at first for people who aren't used to reporting, but it gets better once you get used to it.

2. Getting lunch is relatively inconvenient because the workplace is rather remote. Some colleagues order delivery, so you can join them.

3. People in planning and administration are responsible for a relatively large and varied range of tasks, so you need to be very logical when completing your to-do list. Senior colleagues will teach you many tools, but you also need time to get used to them.

Being nearly forty, changing careers for my life goals was truly a major decision. Thank you to the company for being willing to accept my decision. Everyone treated me very well in the past. The drivers would occasionally get together for a meal after work, and they even made a special effort to invite me to eat with them on weekends. The relationships among colleagues were genuinely good—we always helped one another. Leaving was also somewhat difficult.

The company has clear policies, provides overtime pay, perfect-attendance bonuses, and lunch subsidies. This was also how I was able to save money to pursue further education on my own and move into another industry. If you, like me, have ambitious goals, this might also be a great stepping stone for you. At least, that is how I see it.

If you are accustomed to getting promoted through performance evaluations and exams, this company may not be suitable, because it does not have a fixed promotion system. After all, being a driver still depends on your abilities, right? If you are looking for a stable job with a decent income, you may want to consider it.

I am currently employed here and will soon have been working here for a year. I have not noticed any of the other negative issues mentioned in particular. The company may also have undergone many reforms or changes in recent years; for example, its overtime pay, bonuses, and benefits system are all quite well established.

The company moves at a relatively fast pace, so adapting at the beginning takes some time. It may not be suitable for people who work too slowly.

(However, the managers and senior colleagues are quite dedicated to mentoring others, so there is not too much to worry about.)

On-time departures when things go smoothly; occasionally, traffic jams require overtime, but all our drivers receive overtime pay.

I had actually been with this company for more than three years, primarily working in customer service both in the stores and in the back office. The company has a very good reputation among distributors, customers, and designers, so the owner also wants to provide us with better benefits. The key point is that during the interview, they clearly explain that the nature of this industry may occasionally require overtime (due to shipment volumes and traffic congestion).

Unlike large companies or organizations, there is no clearly defined promotion structure. However, considering that the company has fewer than 100 employees, it still cares about employees’ development and regularly reviews everyone’s contributions at work.

(I am someone who enjoys taking on many different roles, so I do not necessarily need a very comprehensive promotion system. As long as I can learn many different skills, that is enough for me. However, it ultimately depends on each person’s priorities and choices.)

No advantages at all

Working hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There is a one-hour break in the middle, but if you return late, that break time gets eaten into. You hardly have any time to rest, and are busy from morning until night. Meanwhile, the supervisors are all scrolling on their phones and chatting, making it look like they are busy. As a result, all the work gets put off until after the end of the workday. The ones who suffer are the employees, who work overtime to death. If you do not work overtime, you are treated as not being a team player. During the interview, they all say that overtime is only occasional, but in reality, there is overtime every day, and Saturday overtime is also mandatory. The supervisors like to form cliques, making the work atmosphere very poor. Internally, they really like to compare everyone and give scores. If your performance does not meet the supervisor’s expectations, or if you do not work overtime, they will threaten to deduct it from your bonus. They really like to make an issue out of bonuses. If you want to do delivery work, go somewhere else. This job will only leave you covered in aches and injuries.

Everyone seems very tense, and the pressure is indeed quite high. As far as the industry is concerned, I think the salary is pretty good, but the actual working hours are somewhat long. In a family business, the person in charge sets the rules—and that person is the daughter.

The general manager has a strong bathroom spirit, which is something worth learning from.

First, regarding days off: every other week is a day off. Working hours are said to end at 6 p.m., but if you leave on time, the assistant manager will say something to you.

Usually, everyone leaves work after 8 p.m.

The salary is terrible.
