Pros

The training is very comprehensive, and the salary is considered to be in line with market standards.

(But the salary is split into many different categories, so the basic salary is the minimum wage. This makes a big difference to labor and health insurance contributions!!)

It is a very good place for recent graduates to learn and gain experience.

Most people move on to better companies after working here for 1–2 years~

After all, it is a publicly listed company, so the HR training is really comprehensive,

and you can also learn the SAP system!

This is a significant advantage when negotiating salary for future job changes, and it makes for a good résumé entry.

I recommend that recent graduates come here to learn for a year, then move on to somewhere better!

After all, without special connections, promotion opportunities here are very limited~

EX: The boss’s child returned after studying abroad and became a TEAM LEADER in less than four years,

managing senior sales staff who had worked here for more than ten years. That is quite a distinctive approach, hahaha

Cons

Most of the people who joined at the same time as me have left.

Most of those who stayed either got married and had children,

or are distant relatives of the boss or friends and relatives of senior executives.

It is a textbook family business: connections matter more than ability.

Those without connections get stuck with the worst assignments and the most difficult customers XD

Almost every department has family members in it. Don’t assume that only people with the surname Nian are members of the royal family.

Some are children of distant relatives, while others are daughters-in-law from a senior manager’s family—all of them are brought in.

The year-end bonus is about one month’s salary, and raises do not exceed NT$1,000.

On typhoon days off, you may be required to deduct annual leave.

It is rare to leave work on time, but overtime pay is handled fairly honestly.

The company cafeteria food is terrible, like feeding pigs. A tiny fish the size of a palm has to be shared among several people.

Meanwhile, the boss and managers get lavish meals. Whatever happened to weathering difficult times together?

During lunch break, an announcement and bell are played 5–10 minutes early to wake everyone up,

so the actual lunch break is less than one hour.

However, there are many club activities, in-house training courses, company outings, and department activities.

It is very suitable for recent graduates without busy family responsibilities who want to learn and participate in various activities.

.

For sales assistants, private-university graduates are paid only the minimum wage, while national-university graduates get an additional NT$1,000–3,000.

Sales staff earn approximately NT$5,000–8,000 more than sales assistants (because most of them work indoors and do not have to travel outside).

Managers treat sales assistants and sales staff extremely differently—like a caste system.

Sales assistants are only allowed to drink tea bags from T世家.

Only sales staff and customers are allowed to drink TenRen tea bags.

When customers visit, sales assistants have to drive out to buy premium boxed meals, snacks, and drinks.

Sales staff will demand that obviously excessive amounts of food be purchased.

After the customers leave, the sales staff first pack up and take away unopened food for themselves,

then tell the sales assistants to collect the trash and clean up the food waste. They are really “smart.”

I recommend having the determination to endure this kind of treatment before applying for a sales assistant position~

Pros

1. Colleagues are generally easy to get along with

2. Meals are provided; for NT$12 a day, you can have both lunch and dinner. I think the food is okay, though some people can’t get used to it. If you force yourself to eat it, it’s a great way to save money.

3. Bonuses are paid once before the Lunar New Year and once in July. They’re fairly generous, but it’s basically a way of stuffing money in your mouth to make you shut up and keep working obediently. If you’re sufficiently willing to be exploited, you can stay, but let me offer one piece of advice: if you can’t stay for a lifetime, don’t stay for even a moment. Once you’ve stayed too long, you won’t be able to get out……

Cons

A traditional manufacturing company run as a family business, with a severe overtime culture (on the surface, they say it’s up to you whether to work overtime, but if you don’t, they’ll openly and covertly criticize you. Every department is like this; everyone has gotten used to being exploited.)

R&D Department: The manager is a giant baby, there is a serious talent gap, and they can’t retain newcomers. Training is lacking; they’ll criticize you for not knowing things you were never taught, asking why you don’t know how to do them. Moreover, every engineer has a different way of working, making it difficult to follow rigid procedures. One member of the company’s privileged inner circle is a professional slacker, and the manager will even dump work on other newcomers, effectively increasing their workload, with the result that they can’t finish their original work either (a vicious cycle)…… This department is the target of pressure from all other units. Anyone thinking of applying for this position should think twice—unless you’re extremely willing to be exploited and strong-minded enough to experience being trampled underfoot by people less capable than you, in which case, I welcome you to come. Almost all of the veterans there have been stuck for nearly ten years or more and can’t leave (they’re all very hardworking, and I have great respect for them). Everyone capable and young has resigned. At Jimao, “cooperativeness” is valued more than “ability”; not working overtime is considered being uncooperative. Draw your own conclusions.

The drafting department is a cushy position: first to clock in for meals, leaves right on time, and watches stocks during work. There’s hardly any chance of getting in because it’s already fully staffed. How could anyone possibly resign from such a cushy position? Exactly, right?

Production Control: The work environment is very demanding, and overtime is frequent. Turnover also seems fairly high. The main problem is that urgent orders are often inserted, throwing the schedule into complete chaos. It’s extremely difficult.

Production Department: Don’t even ask about overtime—it’s just nonstop. Overtime pay is provided as required, but watch out if you encounter a certain older employee surnamed Huang who has a bad temper. He’ll berate you until you question your entire life, then bow and scrape to senior executives the next second.

Sister Zhang in HR is very kind and hardworking. Unfortunately, with the company in this sorry state and turnover through the roof, she still has to pretend not to understand and ask why people are resigning. In fact, everyone knows without saying; I really feel sorry for you.

In summary, if you want to come here to get promoted and make your mark, I advise you not to. There are a bunch of privileged insiders above you, so you’ll definitely never get a turn. If your goal is to save money, you could consider coming here. Good luck!

Pros

Colleagues get along well.

Cons

A typical family business—it values blood ties over ability.

The sales manager is conceited and looks down on others. After reading a few issues of Business Weekly, they think they are a professional manager. There have been countless ridiculous instances of them imitating others by holding meetings standing up; why not imitate others by giving a 7% pay raise?

They are quite skilled at fawning over superiors.

They always rush to leave work on time themselves, yet force subordinates to work overtime and call that a sign of good performance.

No wonder the turnover rate remains so high—they can’t retain people!

I heard the office and the on-site location operate under “one country, two systems.”

Pros

The owner of this company can be considered willing to reward employees; bonuses and year-end bonuses are not withheld. However, the workload varies greatly between departments, like two worlds—heaven and hell. The administrative building has a good working environment, but the pressure depends on whether you have connections and whether your supervisor has a relationship with the owner. The production units, on the other hand, have a hellish life... All I can say is that some people spend their days idly wandering around, with breakfast breaks from 08:00 to 10:00, while in the crappy departments, after finishing breakfast, there is no time to eat lunch. If you still have an appetite, you might be able to eat dinner.
