Pros

Delivery bonuses are low, and stockouts are frequent.

Cons

1. The pay is pitifully low, despite claiming to be the highest in the industry.

2. Some people want to be bosses who do not have to do any work.

3. They side with people without distinguishing right from wrong; favorites can get away with anything.

4. Section Chief Chen at a certain location has extremely poor emotional management and is highly inappropriate in selecting and assigning people.

5. The turnover rate is extremely high, and the route arrangements are very problematic (some people like being bosses who do not have to do any work).

Pros

Even if you can’t do anything, as long as you cling to the powerful, flatter them, and curry favor, you can still live comfortably.

You’ll get plenty of bonuses and performance pay...

Cons

1. No salary adjustment for 20 years

2. Employees are forced to retire at age 55 (you’ll be pressured to leave)

3. Annual leave is capped at 15 days; for the remaining days, they fob you off with NT$1,000 per day

4. When changing leave schedules, they completely disregard workers’ interests— they change them however they want, and you can only swallow it

5. Those who can work are worked to death, while those who can’t do the work play video games to their heart’s content

6. They do not prioritize worker safety and may ask you to perform dangerous tasks. There are many occupational safety incidents, but they are all covered up

7. Favoritism and rule by personal discretion are extremely serious, especially in the public-service departments. Supervisors are extremely arrogant and conceited, yet only mediocre in ability... When they are in a bad mood, insulting language comes pouring out

8. There is a serious personnel gap. Basically, capable people do not want to join; even if they are tricked into joining, they leave very quickly

9. I really do not recommend joining this company

If you plan to interview at the Pingtung plant, think carefully. The plant manager, surnamed Wu, will ask about your private life and romantic relationship status, which is utterly bizarre. I’m here for a job interview, not to find a spouse. Moreover, people outside have heard that the plant manager treats employees harshly, talks about people behind their backs, and, if he takes a dislike to you, uses his authority to bully and ostracize you. Truly terrifying.

This company’s HR is seriously problematic.

When I was at Company A, I received an invitation from Kuan冠’s HR asking whether I was interested in interviewing.

At the time, I was at Company A. Because my manager was neurotic and had a tendency to push people forward as scapegoats, I had already been thinking about leaving.

When I received the call, I naturally said I was willing to interview and could go talk.

But then nothing came of it. They said they would help finalize the interview time, but I never heard anything further.

Later, I asked a friend to make inquiries and found out my reputation had been badly tarnished, so I did not even get an interview opportunity.

The reason was that HR had called Company A, where I was working at the time.

They even contacted my manager directly. My manager and I had already been completely at odds.

Of course, my manager bad-mouthed me, and afterward kept taunting me:

“So you’re leaving? Did you receive an interview invitation? Are you going to work for that hot-pot-ingredients company?”

MD, this was such complete bullshit!

Pros

Those looking to settle in for retirement may consider this place. As long as you join one of the internal second-generation factions, you can usually keep your position for a very long time.

Cons

A family business run by brothers, with a traditional-industry management model. The younger brother’s second-generation children, born in the 1970s, control the head office, while the uncle’s second-generation children, born in the 1960s, control the factory. There are too many internal factions, and decisions are often changed hundreds of times. In the end, it comes down to: “So-and-so said” (referring to a family member)... therefore it cannot be done, and we have to return to the original approach.
