Pros

A subsidiary of a large conglomerate

There’s air conditioning, elevators, and bidet toilets in the restrooms

A fixed one-month year-end bonus; during the three major holidays, points can be redeemed for toilet paper

The salary is paid on time, and there’s an arowana in the lobby on the first floor!

Cons

I took a fall, and it hurt so much. But when I looked back, wasn’t this something I had willingly jumped into in the first place? I stood there for a long time, so long that I couldn’t let it go. At first, I thought this place was flowers, a path, a home. But now, covered in exhaustion and scars, I finally know that it is a calamity, a pit, an abyss!

Pros

Male employees on evening shifts receive neither a shift allowance nor overtime pay, making this suitable for men who do not need the money.

The boss and supervisors even take pride in unpaid overtime.

Cons

Sales department

A few senior employees (code names: Watermelon, Pork Belly, Green Onion Tops) love to pull rank and act superior because of their seniority.

As long as you do not listen to the senior employees, you will be ostracized—and to the extent of bullying, including sarcastic remarks and threats.

Relying on their seniority, they win over people who listen to them and form cliques.

They make petty reports, spread information, and use the customers they manage to emotionally blackmail supervisors and do whatever they want.

Many supervisors also know the facts but turn a blind eye, cover for them, and indulge these people.

Overtime is the norm at the company. During the last few days of every month, you must stay late, and the workload is overwhelming.

Some accounting staff often work until 11 p.m. or midnight.

Unless you are extremely willing to be exploited, it is recommended that you look for another job.

Pros

There are many pitfalls inside, suitable for taking the blame.

Often emotionally unstable and working overtime, suitable for fresh livers.

Cons

1. No allowance for on-call duty, no overtime pay, inconvenient transportation, and inconvenient dining options

2. Low salary, no bonuses, inconsistent with what the supervisor said during the recruitment interview

3. Outdated internal systems, weak information security, frequent outsourcing of projects, and employees are blamed whenever problems occur

4. Bonuses have not been paid for two quarters; employees can only receive low wages while gradually being pressured to leave

5. Senior management has more slogans than concrete action; the boss cares about appearances but provides no marketing resources

6. Senior employees often bully newcomers

1. You get to keep company with rats

2. The restroom is dirty and chaotic; only the boss’s restroom is relatively clean, while the one for employees downstairs is extremely filthy and messy

3. You can only curl up in the stairwell to eat, and there isn’t even a basic table

Cons

1. The company is old and run-down

2. A typical exploitative Taiwanese company— even training sessions have to be attended during your own break time

3. The environment is dirty, chaotic, and cramped

4. The salary is extremely low; bonuses may or may not be paid, and when they are, they’re very small

5. The department downstairs bullies new employees, exploits them, and uses emotional blackmail

The company has air conditioning ㄏ

Cons

Here comes a review of subsidiary 合x.

This is a place where, with no capable generals in Shu, Liao Hua becomes the vanguard.

You don’t need any ability; as long as you’re full of empty talk and have connections, you can hold a high position and be deeply favored by those above you.

Having connections means having no problems, right?

It’s also quite amusing to watch a bunch of people clowning around over there.

They have an overly positive self-image and refuse to face problems honestly.

They only cover up the problems and pretend everything is fine.

Whenever something happens, they tell you to get lost as quickly as possible.

They won’t investigate the cause or make improvements.

They’re really beyond saving.

The supervisor of some kind of operations department

can only be a keyboard warrior who does nothing but talk.

They love tormenting every department with all kinds of emotional abuse and emotional blackmail.

As if they were the boss, haha.

There are also some strange demands,

or they treat people like dogs, calling them over just to berate them.

With relationships this bad, I suggest they reflect on themselves first.

Also, when looking at a company, you can first see how disgusting the restrooms are.

That tells you that the quality of most people working here is also on the low side.

Of course, there are good people too,

but they usually don’t stay long because they’re normal people.

Working overtime on the last day of every month is illegal too, isn’t it?

It’s just to accommodate the parent company’s push for performance.

I can’t understand the point of it.

Maybe they want to show off the slave mentality of traditional manufacturing.

Best of luck to this company hanging in there.

After reading several of the comments below, do you think there are any advantages?

Cons

1. They like to bully and harass newcomers.

2. Several PMs and procurement staff are currently receiving psychiatric treatment.

3. Overtime is the norm at the company, but there is no overtime pay.

4. My friend works in the Finance and Accounting Department and has to work until midnight, without overtime pay. When there is no transportation at night, they still cannot claim transportation expenses.

5. The environment and equipment are outdated.

6. During the bonus interview, they said it would be over NT$10,000, but the actual amount received was only NT$1,000–2,000. The base salary is only in the low NT$30,000s, making it difficult to get by. I’m going to look for a new job.

Pros

The environment is spacious

Most colleagues are very nice

There is an elevator

There is air conditioning

I really can't write anything else

Cons

On the third day after joining as a newcomer, I was asked to do things that clearly would only be appropriate after at least three months. When I couldn't do them well, they still gave me a helpless, resigned look, as if they had given up on me.

They expected me to get up to speed immediately, without even a buffer period, and gave me the feeling that they thought I was working too slowly.

They required things to be finished before leaving work, so overtime was routine.

When is there ever a day when everything is finished? You just prioritize tasks by importance and urgency.

But this goes back to what I mentioned at the beginning: if you can't get up to speed or handle things immediately, you can feel their disdainful attitude.

They constantly changed their instructions;

when I wanted to repeat them once to confirm that I had understood correctly, they became impatient again.

They slandered me, saying that everything I said was a lie.

Once a supervisor had decided that you were lying, everything you said was treated as an excuse.

Even though I had explained my own thoughts,

they still insisted that I was just making excuses.

I felt insulted.

(I still did not admit that what they said was correct. When it concerns one's character, there is no room to back down.)

Finally, the hardest thing to accept:

they even wanted to control your smile.

——“Who smiles as happily as you do?”

Wow, the scope of a supervisor's authority is truly enormous.

They try to control so many things.

I've already adopted a detached attitude.

Large company

Cons

Extremely annoying department...

Several back-office employees (code names: Watermelon and Pork Belly) love to bully and harass newcomers.

They are not supervisors themselves but act as though they are running the department.

Then they rally people who listen to them, behaving like elementary school students.

When asked whether they need help, they say no.

Later, they report to the supervisor that the newcomers are not proactive.

Things like this... the list goes on.

The department supervisor knows the facts but turns a blind eye, covers for them, and enables their behavior. Reporting it is useless. What is even more absurd is that when evaluating newcomers’ performance, the supervisor actually asks those few people who bully them.

The pay is low. When newcomers join, regardless of whether they are back-office or field staff, they are ordered by these people to do back-office work.

Overtime is the norm. On the last day of every month, you are required to stay, and the workload is overwhelming. They expect you to get up to speed immediately.

The pressure is so intense from the moment you join that you cannot sleep well. Every day, you dream about being bullied, suffering emotional, physical, and psychological harm.

I advise young people not to come here unless they are truly desperately short of money.

Pros

Colleagues invite each other to afternoon tea, with plenty of choices.

There are quite a few restrooms, so you don't have to wait in line.

Cons

The environment is outdated, the equipment is outdated, and the computers are also the company's own brand.

The company is unwilling to spend money on upgrading equipment or making improvements.

Overtime is the norm at the company; everyone has to stay late and work overtime on the last day of the month.

Everyone has to~~~~

As long as you don't listen to senior colleagues, you will be ostracized—and it reaches the level of bullying, with sarcastic remarks and threats.

Senior colleagues who are not supervisors act as though they are running the department.

Then they recruit minor followers, much like elementary school students forming teams. Their tactics are deplorable.

Pros

The benefits mentioned during the interview sounded good (?)

They mentioned quarterly bonuses, performance-based bonuses, salary adjustments, and so on.

Cons

1. The first interview included an “intelligence test” and an “English test.”

Each one was 30 minutes.

As a result, I ran out of time and just filled in the rest randomly.

None of the previous companies I interviewed with rushed things as much as this one.

Has anyone actually finished these tests in 30 minutes?

2. The interview did not include a professional skills test,

and they also did not ask much about my experience at my previous company.

The salary was also below my expected range.

(If the benefits are really as described, it would still be acceptable.)

I’ll give it an average rating for now.

After all, the interviewers’ attitude was acceptable.

Stable large company

Cons

I advise anyone who is planning to come for an interview in the future: don’t come.

What they want here are people who can “hit the ground running.”

But the workload is truly overwhelming,

and the boss expects employees to slave away along with everyone else.

So you’ll end up feeling frustrated and exhausted every day, and you’ll still have to work overtime.

The company has a good reputation

It looks good on your résumé

Cons

1. They control your words and behavior

2. They control your sitting posture

3. They expect you to become the person they want you to be

4. Endure hardships together with the company

5. Slave-like overtime (more than 9 hours)

6. They control many aspects of your life

7. Senior employees have a bad attitude

I advise against coming here.

I’ve seen many newcomers being bullied

More people sharing the hardships together (?)

Overtime pay is provided; when they say double pay, they really do pay double. That may be the only advantage.

Cons

There are so many things that I don't even know where to start...

The pay is very low, and overtime is extremely frequent. People on the previous shift have to make up for the work left by the following shift, causing many employees to leave after only a short time and perpetuating an unresolved vicious cycle. On top of that, when you're exhausted and make a mistake because you're distracted, you'll be singled out and criticized, while some people make countless mistakes and are never reprimanded. Sometimes, to handle the workload, employees are not only required to arrive early and stay late for overtime on weekdays, but are also asked to work overtime on holidays. Then they just throw out the phrase “we all need to get through this difficult time together,” while refusing to hire more people despite claiming they are looking. As a result, a considerable amount of the workload is handled by part-time employees.

The environment is extremely dirty. The thick layer of dust that has accumulated over who knows how many years on the air-conditioning vents is never cleaned. Aside from a few specific restrooms that someone “specially” cleans, the restrooms in the frontline areas are so dirty that they look like they have never been cleaned. Even when doors break, no one repairs them. Large cockroaches and rats are common. Ventilation is also extremely poor: when the backup diesel generator runs for too long, smoke (carcinogenic substances) that cannot disperse for several hours fills the indoors as if there were a fire. Yet employees are only allowed to stay inside and are not permitted to go outside for fresh air.

There are many other problems that I could go on about..... In short, anyone who is curious can give it a try. When I first read the reviews, I thought it might not be that bad, but after actually working there for a while, I found it was far beyond my expectations! (lol)

Pros

None at all

Cons

Way too many

First of all,

people here are extremely unfriendly toward newcomers.

If you don't know the company's procedures, no one will tell you; if you make a mistake, that's your problem.

Even when you ask, you can't get an answer.

They just say, “You should have known. Why didn't anyone hand this over to you?”

Exactly—no one handed anything over to me. What was I supposed to know?

My coworkers are also very cold; they never tell you anything.

And even when you ask, the answer may not be correct.

Next, the equipment is terrible.

The computers are terrible.

The internet is terrible.

The environment isn't very clean either—there are lots of small cockroaches.

The company's culture and thinking are extremely traditional.

Communication is very difficult.

Pros

Cons

1. Upon arrival, I immediately had to take a 30-minute logic test (verbal, math, and logic sections), followed by a 30-minute English listening and reading test (roughly similar to the TOEIC format).

2. I applied for an assistant position, but the person who conducted the interview was also an assistant. When asked about things such as the year-end bonus, they did not dare to say anything (though that was indeed not their fault...)

3. After interviewing with the assistant, I was told that a supervisor would be brought in. I waited for 20 minutes, and then HR came to say that interviews had ended for the day.

The whole experience made me feel extremely disrespected!

Cons

Aside from being very well-known in the industry, this company has nothing else going for it.

No raises for years; the year-end bonus is always one month, regardless of how long you’ve been here.

For the three major holidays, they only give an unbelievably lousy shopping voucher.

The long-timers do things based on their mood, and when they’re unhappy, they take it out on employees with less seniority.

You work yourself to death until late at night, only to be criticized by people who do nothing for doing a poor job.

Pros

I only stayed briefly, for a year. Because I was the manager’s favorite, I had a fairly easy time, with no overtime and no heavy workload.

Cons

However, according to what other colleagues said, if the manager doesn’t like you, it’s hell: no bonuses, no friendly treatment, and you’ll definitely be given the most difficult clients or assignments.

The company environment is terrible. Cigarette smoke constantly drifts into the office, and the air conditioning is old, making it extremely hot in summer and extremely cold in winter.

The office is open-plan, and the partitions are practically useless—they only reach waist height when you stand up.

The hygiene is also very poor. We often heard shrieks from the sales area when people spotted cockroaches or rats.

New employees are forced to perform at the year-end party and must spend their time after work rehearsing, which is a waste of time.

Colleagues generally resist learning new tools and skills. They can barely even use basic Excel, and the company’s ERP system is a rudimentary in-house system. Its interface is ugly and its functionality is poor, but because it follows the existing work processes, the senior employees quite like it.

There are no normal people here, because anyone with a sound perspective will quickly look for a better place to work. Only half of those who joined at the same time as me are still employed.

The pay is pitifully low. The year-end bonus is one month’s salary, and the performance bonus is only a few thousand dollars. There is no employee stock bonus (the company has already been delisted). There are company trips, but employees are forced to go with their colleagues; it would be better to receive the money in cash.

As one of the insiders, you can talk about anything—but only if you are an “insider.”

Cons

Managers value you if they see you as a treasure; if they don’t, you’re treated like grass. No matter how diligent, hardworking, or professional you are, it’s useless. Professional expertise at work is not respected; the manager’s ideas take precedence over professional judgment. Skilled professionals are treated like blue-collar workers, and pay is kept as low as possible. No one will help you get a raise unless you mention resigning. The year-end bonus is always fixed at one month’s salary, even when the company makes money. Newcomers are also expected to dance at the year-end party in their first year. Bonuses are given only to a small number of “treasures.” The veterans are extremely skilled at passing the buck, so tasks always end up falling on newcomers. Some managers love to fire people, while others don’t know how to make good use of their staff. The better you do your work, the more miscellaneous tasks you are expected to handle.

Worked at this company for several years

The boss is always going through tough times together with everyone

Previously bought his wife a Q5, then bought himself an Audi A8

Year-end bonuses and the three holiday bonuses are all given according to his mood, and are issued as shopping vouchers—shopping vouchers for the company’s own website

Those who are targeted get nothing at all

Those who are favored get everything
