I was notified that I got the job, only to have it rescinded 🙄️

Honestly, I recommend not going there just to be humiliated again.

Pros

Every day brings some absurd incident or demand that will make you furious.

Cons

If you consider yourself an expert at palace intrigue,

you are extremely well-suited to join this company.

There will surely be no shortage of drama in the future.

/

Below is an introduction to the core members of the team claimed to have 15 people in the job listing, commonly known as the Golden 💩 Squid Squad.

(Three of them gang up on you to get you to sign your resignation.)

📍The company’s supreme Boss—the Old Princess 👸

A representative of the scheming old green tea type. When she says A, it means B (even though it is obviously wrong), and you can only go along with her and pretend black is white. Otherwise, she will think you are no good and send you home with a plate of squid to eat.

She will also tell other people how good she is to you, saying that she gave you squid to eat and even included a big red envelope as a bonus (but she never actually gave you one).

/

📍The Old Princess’s Repeating Parrot 🐦

The Old Princess’s errand runner and driver, as well as the answering machine for when the Old Princess’s social anxiety acts up.

/

📍The highly paid Old Ox Shield 🐮

His fee is so high that even saying one sentence costs a fortune, yet all he does is praise his glorious achievements from the past, talking nonstop from age 15 all the way to 50 about how amazing he is. In reality, he has zero substance and is merely a useful shield the Old Princess paid to hire.

/

Q. You ask whether the company doesn’t have 15 people? Oh, in reality there aren’t even 10 people. Perhaps the others can only be seen by the Old Princess.

———

After saying so much, the story is only just beginning. Once upon a not-so-distant time…

There was an Old Princess who was emotionally unstable all day long and loved to hide little schemes, resulting in the office seats never having permanent occupants. For more than a year, someone left every month, without exception.

/

Episode 1. 《The Old Princess’s Fickleness》

1. During livestream events, she talks about how discounted the products are and how much can be saved by combining promotions. Then, near the end, she realizes, “Oops, it was accidentally too cheap,” and goes back on it, saying, “I misspoke just now~~”

2. She really dislikes writing the event times, because if sales are not going well, she can quietly end the event and only explain when customers ask.

/

Episode 2. 《The Old Princess’s Persistence》

1. She does not like letting designers create their own designs. Copying other brands’ most beautiful designs is preferred, while continuing to claim that we are an exclusive Taiwanese local design brand.

2. Whether it is a small bag, a large bag, or an enormous bag, there must be lots of straps. Even if it looks extremely ugly, the Old Princess thinks it is gorgeous.

3. The rude customer service replies that everyone online curses, always responding with an “Oh”—don’t doubt it, that is a reply the Old Princess considers extremely polite.

4. Whenever something is not to her liking, the message the Old Princess sends will be “==,” so employees had better treat this symbol as a kind reminder.

/

Episode 3. 《The Old Princess Has Excellent Relationships with Everyone》

1. The overall reason for laying off employees is simply that they are not subservient enough, so the Old Princess gets angry (and she will first trick you into signing a voluntary resignation; only when you do not fall for it will she bring out an involuntary termination form for you to sign).

2. She wants to push the duties of a manager onto a senior specialist who has worked their way up—but without giving them a raise.

3. You have to travel a long way to take photos and get off work earlier than usual, so one hour of annual leave is deducted in advance (does going home not take time?).

4. She tells employees that if they do not become a manager, they will only get a $500 raise next year.

5. An employee was poached and left. “Sigh, they had no experience originally—how ungrateful.”

6. Work starts at 9:30, and one employee was always cutting it close, arriving at 9:28. The employee was called in, presented with a long list of entirely fabricated charges, and required to sign their name.

7. If you return from lunch more than two minutes late, you are about to receive a thousand-character message from the Old Princess: “You may not be suitable for this place”—her greatest expression of concern.

8. Employees cannot return from the restroom at the same time, or the Old Princess will think you secretly went off to fool around and badmouth her.

9. At this company, you had better pray that you stay healthy, safe, and always have toilet paper when you need to defecate; otherwise, the Old Princess will think you are slacking off and not working seriously.

10. Please eat breakfast outside. Once you clock in, she cares deeply about whether you are working diligently every single second.

11. Employees cannot be too close in private, or the Old Princess will overthink it and assume you are secretly badmouthing her.

12. Please remain quiet during work. You may only discuss work matters or topics the Old Princess and the Repeating Parrot like to hear.

13. To maintain a cheerful office atmosphere (?), the first colleague to arrive at work each day must automatically play music, regardless of whether you want to listen.

All right, my hand is too sore. I’ll leave the sequel to the other victims to write.

If your nickname is Niu Hulu XXX,

welcome to hurry into this pit of fire. We are all looking forward to seeing how you perform.

Stayed for a year, barely hanging on until I was reduced to a shadow of a person. I still have lingering trauma from it.

The female boss is extremely skilled at undermining people.

She’s the kind of villain you see in movies who grabs your hand as you’re hanging from a cliff, then lets go 🙂 Selfish and self-centered, yet still wants to pretend to be a sweet, bubbly princess.

She even has an old bodyguard who protects the princess every day.

She extremely distrusts employees, thinking they’ll steal the secret formula for her Krabby Patty.

She cares extremely little about employees, doesn’t look after them, and has no feelings for them.

If you take a day off, she’ll even badmouth you behind your back, saying you have lots of problems and so on.

When my dog passed away, I needed to arrange a funeral. She acted concerned to my face but cursed me behind my back for suddenly taking leave. What the hell? (Sorry, I was really furious. Pets are family, and I believe everyone can understand why I was so angry.)

Anyway,

You could be fired at any time, anywhere.

One coworker wanted to tough it out for six months to get their annual leave.

Then they were suddenly fired. How pitiful.

I sincerely hope everyone will go to Tianyancha to look up this article

and forward it to all major job-search websites.

Every employee who has left has had one sentence on their lips:

I sincerely hope the company goes bankrupt.

Is it the employees’ problem or the boss’s problem?

You can think about that yourselves~

Convenient location

New & clean building

Cons

A word of advice before the Lunar New Year:

Don’t take a pointless detour—give yourself a way out 🙂

Whether you’re a young recent graduate or an experienced worker who’s been around in society, this place isn’t suitable if you want to build your résumé or simply make a living. Sorry, everyone—I’m afraid you’ll end up in purgatory after the New Year.

If you belong to one of the following zodiac elements:

1. Air signs who love a peaceful atmosphere and enjoy sharing and exchanging ideas

(Libra, Aquarius, Gemini): You can’t exchange pleasantries or chat with colleagues here. If you go to the restroom several times, you may even be asked why you keep leaving your seat. If you’re sharp, you’ll find it hard to tolerate the old-fashioned, militarized way things are run here. The office atmosphere is completely frozen, and not talking about anything other than work is an unspoken company rule.

2. Water signs who are sensitive, perceptive, and good at reading the room

(Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces): After working here, you’ll become a shut-in. You’ll often feel emotionally wounded by the boss’s unpredictable moods, lack of empathy, and cold-blooded behavior, along with the frequent emotional blackmail of employees. You’ll constantly question your own value and eventually become exhausted both mentally and physically.

3. Fire signs who speak their minds and are brave enough to express their ideas

(Leo, Sagittarius, Aries): Communicating with the boss will make you so angry you’ll want to stand up and beat him to death. If you honestly suggest improvements to the work or share your ideas, you’ll still be collectively cut down afterward. This place is comparable to the palace intrigues of Empresses in the Palace; the boss’s wife is the most scheming one. You may end up angering yourself to death, and things could escalate into a bloodbath. It’s unbearably painful.

4. Earth signs who quietly work hard and have strong logical-thinking skills

(Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus): The boss’s logic will leave you speechless. The work will always revolve around the boss, the old princess. If you want some variety, your ideas will immediately be rejected, and eventually you’ll become nothing more than a replaceable cog in the company—a robotic AI worker. The company’s culture is to treat people as disposable. Even if you’re tough enough to put up with it for a while, you’ll eventually realize that you’re making no progress and have no room to grow.

The boss’s wife is a Gemini, but even more twisted—psychologically disturbed, saying one thing to your face and doing another behind your back. She’ll badmouth colleague B to colleague A, deliberately making you think you’re close to her, only to fire you as soon as you leave work that day. Surprise, surprise—what a scheming old woman. She often pretends to be cute and pitiful, and she also has a husband who caters to her every whim. It’s like raising a princess through a daily growth journal.

The company’s internal rules are petty and overly nitpicky, to the point of making people uncomfortable. Coming here is quite something—it’s enough to traumatize you or leave you looking like a dead fish every day.

There’s also a frightening consultant who is always discriminatory and clings tightly to the boss’s favor. His ideas are even more outdated than the boss’s. Every meeting is spent talking about his past achievements. Who wants to listen to that? The meeting time would be enough to watch Avengers plus a short drama, yet you’re not even allowed to zone out while listening to him talk nonsense.

Colleagues who are hired often disappear after one or two days (usually people with considerable work experience) after discovering that the boss monitors everyone’s screens from behind like an ancestral tablet. Apart from work-related communication software, private software cannot be used. The boss monitors everyone’s screens from behind and has even secretly installed screen-monitoring software. It’s terrifying 🙂

Oh, and it’s also possible that you’ll be hired and then fired by the boss when you leave work that same day or two days later. You’ll die without closure—apparently the boss didn’t like your looks, so after two days he’ll say your style isn’t a good fit. You’ll have wasted your time and need to spend even more time looking for another job. Garbage company.

If you take sick leave, the boss will still be unhappy. On the surface, he’ll show concern, but privately he’ll be cursing you.

The boss is extremely distrustful of employees—perhaps because he’s done too many bad things and is afraid of ghosts when walking at night. So he often resorts to psychological intimidation, periodically calling you in and asking whether you want to stay and whether the pressure is too much. Is it easy for you people?

You smart people—don’t you want to give yourselves a way out?

Pros

1. Convenient location

2. Employee discounts

Cons

1. Not allowed to eat breakfast in the office

2. Not allowed to eat potato chips because they’re too greasy, but Doritos are fine

3. Originally, employees could listen to the radio at work, but later, because there was too much negative news about a certain political party, employees were no longer allowed to listen

4. No salary breakdowns. The perfect-attendance bonus keeps changing between 1,000 and 500, and whether pay is deducted for being late depends on the boss’s mood. When no deduction is made, she turns around and emotionally blackmails employees for the favor

5. Time is taken extremely seriously. Employees must be very punctual when starting work. During lunch, they say there is “10 minutes of flexibility,” but if you actually return during those 10 minutes, they still get annoyed. Even tooth-brushing and bathroom breaks are scrutinized, and they calculate how long you spend in the bathroom. Yet you cannot leave exactly on time after work. If you do, they assume you have not done enough and start increasing your workload, or call you in to review and criticize your work. There is no overtime pay. They say overtime can be exchanged for compensatory leave, but provide no records or process for calculating or applying for time off. It always feels as though the employees are the ones being accused of quibbling over a few minutes

6. Even though they clearly dislike employees laughing and joking during work hours, they tell new hires that the employees do not like chatting. You are only allowed to laugh when they themselves think something is funny

7. They do not want employees to help one another with work

8. They expect one person to be able to do many things, even if those tasks are not part of their job

9. Photography planning, styling, layout, graphic design, photo retouching, uploading, video filming and editing, social media management, livestreaming, newsletter publishing, influencer collaborations, data analysis… all of these may be assigned to the graphic designer

10. Marketing staff will be fired if they do not work on holidays

11. Product development is not allowed to draw its own designs; they can only copy and modify other brands’ styles, even though trends always reach them slower than everyone else

12. They hired a consultant, but it was just more empty promises

13. They often ask employees for their opinions, but do not genuinely want to hear them. They already have an answer in mind and only want someone to agree with them. So when your answer differs from what they expected, they start saying, “But I think…”

14. Employees have to use their own phones for livestreams. They have always said they would buy a company phone, but never did. On one occasion, the boss’s wife’s phone really had to be used, and only then did the boss immediately buy a new phone

15. They always think they are better than their competitors, but the others’ name recognition left them several cities behind long ago

16. They love comparing themselves with a certain brand from another industry. In private, they think they are several levels above that brand, while envying its decor, sales, and reputation. They also keep telling employees to copy that brand’s work, wanting to be like them without wanting to spend the money. The same goes for marketing: because the owner of that other-industry brand said she did not recommend a certain approach, they simply stopped using it, while the other brand continued marketing that way

17. The annual plans look beautiful on paper, but not a single special project, collaboration, or anything similar has ever been completed

18. Extremely suspicious; the surveillance cameras monitor everything with 360-degree, zero-blind-spot coverage

19. Employees are not allowed to stay in contact with people who have left the company

20. If a discussion about the work ultimately does not align with her ideas, she says, “If you want to leave, I’m not going to force you to stay.”

21. She considers the benefits better than those at other companies, but people stay at the company for reasons other than exceptionally good benefits. Yet she tells employees, “If you think another company’s benefits are better, it’s fine for you to leave.”

22. There was already someone assigned to be the primary livestream host, but the boss loves taking over the work—changing the set, hogging the camera and the conversation, and setting up her own punchlines that only the boss and the boss’s wife find funny

23. Be careful not to become the subject of rumors while working here

There are plenty of other incidents I could talk about. Anyone who wants to study human behavior or enrich their life experiences can come here

Pros

The company is in a good location.

Cons

The boss and the boss’s wife are extremely mood-dependent in how they handle things.

If they dislike the music, they immediately start hurling insults.

They often vent their negative emotions on employees.

They always expect people to do work that is outside their own responsibilities.

The company’s hardware is also unbelievably bad. Employees are expected to use their own equipment, and nothing is updated or upgraded.

They think other competitors are not as good as their own company.

But the other brands’ awareness has long surpassed theirs.

They keep talking about how wonderful everything was in the past.

They think spending money on marketing exposure is inferior to driving traffic.

But honestly, before joining, I had no idea what brand this was.

Another brand told her that this marketing approach was bad and too expensive.

So she decided not to do it.

As a result, that other brand spends this marketing budget every quarter

and has already become the most well-known presence in that sales channel.

They always want employees to offer suggestions and opinions,

but never accept them and always trust only themselves.

So when the results are unsatisfactory, it is because the employees are incompetent.

LOL..

There have been far too many memorable incidents.

If you feel your life isn’t exciting enough, come and experience it. You’ll have heaps and heaps of stories to tell your friends—stories that will never end!

Pros

The company's appearance and its location are fairly convenient in terms of transportation.

Cons

The owner's wife is extremely suspicious and has very little logic in the way she does things.

The entire company operates inefficiently.

When newcomers join, no one provides a handover or guidance. After just three days, they may be criticized as useless and incapable of doing anything.

She often suspects employees of complaining about the company and fires people using poor excuses.

In addition to surveillance cameras installed throughout the company, employees' computers are also monitored.

It is standard for one position to handle the work of three or four positions.

If you refuse or suggest adjustments, you may be fired immediately.

She nitpicks over every minute of working hours, while there is no overtime pay after work.

She especially likes to pressure employees into doing more, then repeatedly turn tasks that are clearly outside their job scope into their responsibilities.

Whether it is the official website system or the POS system, everything is terribly unreliable and frequently malfunctions. When vendors make mistakes, employees are used as scapegoats.

As soon as you join, all kinds of grand promises are made. Every so often, employees have to waste time attending meetings with consultants who serve little purpose.

The bags constantly imitate other brands, and the quality is not particularly good either.

The owner's wife also refuses to let designers draw design drafts, then blames them for producing nothing and not being committed to their work.

The marketing position can change hands nearly ten times in a year.

Graphic designers inexplicably also have to take on styling design and planning duties.

The work-order system is a complete mess, and the scheduling has no logic whatsoever.

It is common to ask graphic designers to create social media posts or advertising banners without providing sizes or text descriptions.

The most absurd part is that, whether an employee resigns voluntarily or is dismissed, no handover is required. All of the employee's access permissions are destroyed that same day.

This directly leaves the person taking over with no idea how to do the work.

The owner's wife does not know anything herself and cannot teach others.

The company grew very large in its early days partly through good luck.

Now it spends all day trying to restore its former glory, oblivious to the fact that the times have long since changed.

It is a company that is not even suitable for coasting toward retirement.
